Description: Free agent halfback Beanie Wells is set to work out for the Jaguars on Thursday afternoon. SOURCE: Ryan O'Halloran, Florida Times-Union
Insight: Teams have been skeptical about signing Wells because of his injury history. Jacksonville's backfield already includes Pro Bowler Maurice Jones-Drew, Justin Forsett and rookie Denard Robinson. That doesn't leave many carries for Wells, assuming he even makes the team.

Description: The Beanie Wells Era is officially over in Arizona.
Insight: The Cardinals released Wells on Monday, making the former Ohio State star a free agent. Wells was pitiful last season (234 yards on 88 carries) after producing a 1,000 yard campaign a season earlier. Which Beanie will we see in 2013? That depends a lot on what team he ends up playing for.

12/26/2012 8:38:00 PM
Description: Arizona running back Beanie Wells is using next week's game against San Francisco as an "audition for a job somewhere else."
Insight: It's pretty clear Wells wants out after another frustrating season for the listless Cardinals. Wells has been a fantasy disappointment this season (234 yards, five TD in eight games) but perhaps playing for a new team will rejuvenate him.

Description: Cardinals' RB Beanie Wells, who rushed for three touchdowns in Week 15, was benched in Week 16 after rushing for three yards on four carries.
Insight: Any part of the Cardinals' offense not named Larry Fitzgerald is probably in danger of losing their job and at the top of the list is Arizona's ineffective running game and quarterback play. I would not use Wells in Week 17 against San Francisco under any circumstances.

12/17/2012 7:05:00 PM
Description: Cardinals RB Beanie Wells rushed for three touchdowns Sunday against the Lions.
Insight: Arizona shockingly put up 38 points one week after being routed 58-0 by Seattle, getting three scores out of Wells and two more on pick-sixes. Wells ran for a season-high 67 yards Sunday but will be difficult to trust in Week 16 against the Bears since he had 40 yards total and zero touchdowns in his previous two games.

Insight: Wells is only averaging 2.4 ypc on 61 carries this season and had just 22 yards on 15 rushes last week against the Jets. Leave him on the bench.

11/25/2012 7:34:00 PM
Description: Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (toe) returned from a seven-game absence to score two touchdowns Sunday against the Rams.
Insight: Wells only had 48 yards on 17 carries, giving him just 124 yards on 46 carries (2.7 ypc) this season. We wouldn't call him a reliable option going forward, as he's essentially worthless if he doesn't score a touchdown.

11/24/2012 9:15:00 PM
Description: Cardinals RB Beanie Wells (toe) doesn't think it will take long to shake off the rust after missing seven games with turf toe. "Not at all," he said. "I think I'm capable of a full workload. The thing is, I always look at it like I've been playing football since I was six years old and that's one thing I don't forget how to do." SOURCE: ProFootballWeekly.com
Insight: Wells was a non-factor in three games this season, rushing for 76 yards on 29 carries (2.6). LaRod Stephens-Howling re-energized Arizona's running game with two 100-yard rushing games and three touchdowns in the last four games and will still play a third-down role for Arizona. Fantasy owners might be tempted to play Wells considering he rushed for 228 yards on 27 carries in Week 12 last season at St. Louis, but we'd leave him on fantasy benches this week until we see how he looks Sunday.

11/23/2012 12:04:00 PM
Description: The Cardinals, who activated running back Beanie Wells from the PUP list for Week 12, will likely keep his workload under control by using LaRod Stephens-Howling as the third down back.
Insight: With the Cardinals pretty much out of the playoff picture, there is no reason to kill the guy in his first game back after missing eight games.

11/21/2012 10:44:00 AM
Description: The Cardinals have activated running back Beanie Wells from the PUP list for Week 12, according to Mike Jurecki.
Insight: Wells should take over the starting spot despite the big effort from LaRod Stephens-Howling in Week 11. The Cardinals have never believed that LSH is a starter and they believe he is better as a third-down back and special teams contributor.

11/19/2012 1:46:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running back Beanie Wells is expected to be activated from the PUP list for Week 12, according to beat writer Darren Urban.
Insight: Wells should take over the starting spot despite the big effort from LaRod Stephens-Howling in Week 11. The Cardinals have never believed that LSH is a starter and they believe he is better as a third-down back and special teams contributor.

11/15/2012 7:13:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running back Beanie Wells (toe) is "on track" to play Nov. 25 against the Rams. SOURCE:AzCardinals.com
Insight: Wells will easily reclaim his starting job from LaRod Stephens-Howling when he returns. While fantasy owners shouldn't expect miracles due to Arizona's offensive line woes, Wells should be owned in most formats.

11/6/2012 4:29:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running back Beanie Wells (toe) said there is "no doubt about it" that he will play Nov. 25 against the Rams. SOURCE: AzCardinals.com
Insight: Wells is eligible to start practicing Wednesday. LaRod Stephens-Howling has been the lead back the last several weeks, with William Powell backing up, but we expect Wells to take over the full load when he returns.

11/1/2012 10:56:00 AM
Description: The Arizona Republic reports that Cardinals halfback Beanie Wells is making progress in his recovery from a toe injury and should be able to return for Week 12's game against the Rams.
Insight: LaRod Stephens-Howling has served as the team's featured back in Wells' absence with limited success (eight carries for six yards in last week's loss to the 49ers).

9/26/2012 4:48:00 PM
Description: Arizona running back Beanie Wells is out until Week 12 against St. Louis with a turf toe injury.
Insight: Ryan Williams will handle most of the workload on the ground until Wells comes back and should be a viable fantasy starter.

9/23/2012 6:43:00 PM
Description: Arizona halfback Beanie Wells has been removed from Sunday's game against the Eagles because of an injured toe.
Insight: The Cardinals aren't sure if Wells will be able to return. Ryan Williams will handle most of the workload on the ground until Wells comes back.

9/16/2012 6:10:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running backs Beanie Wells was the team's leading rusher Sunday against New England with 44 yards on 14 carries.
Insight: Wells may benefit more from the poor play of Ryan Williams than his own production. Williams had 13 yards on 10 carries and lost a key fumble in the fourth quarter that would have lost Arizona the game had Stephen Gostkowski not missed a game-winning field goal.

9/12/2012 8:29:00 PM
Description: Cardinals running backs Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams were both full participants in practice Wednesday.
Insight: Wells is still dealing with a bum knee and didn't start in Week 1, but he should be back in the starting lineup this week against the Patriots. Neither Wells nor Williams should be used in fantasy leagues, especially against a New England team that held Chris Johnson to four yards on 11 carries in Week 1 and will likely build a big lead Sunday.

9/10/2012 4:58:00 PM
Description: It appears that Beanie Wells is still the starting running back, at least in the eyes of the man who matters most -- Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt. Whisenhunt said Ryan Williams only started in Week 1 because of Wells' hamstring issues, "nothing more than that."
Insight: Neither Wells nor Williams is a fantasy option at this point. Both backs are dealing with nagging injuries and the Cardinals' offensive line is not a strong unit. Receiver Andre Caldwell was the team's leading rusher in Week 1 with one carry for 15 yards.

9/9/2012 10:19:00 AM
Description: CBS Sports reporter Pat Kirwan tweeted that Cardinals running back Beanie Wells (hamstring) will play for Arizona but he expects Ryan Williams to receive most of the carries.
Insight: Wells doesn't make for a good fantasy play Sunday, and Williams is only a flex option against an underrated Seahawks run defense. Seattle held runners to 3.8 ypc last season, tied for fourth best in the NFL.
