Description: Magic F/C Channing Frye (sprained left knee) is questionable for Thursday's game against Washington.
Insight: A more reasonable target for Frye is to return Saturday against Toronto. Kyle O'Quinn got the start at PF in his absence, but played just 21 minutes due to foul trouble and an ankle issue.

10/27/2014 4:53:00 PM
Description: Magic F/C Channing Frye (knee) is unlikely to be ready for opening day.
Insight: He will come off the bench for Orlando once he is healthy, and while he averaged 11.1 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game last season with the Suns, Frye really makes his mark shooting three-pointers (2.0 three-points made per game last season). He will still provide long-distance shooting for fantasy owners, but it needs to be known that he will be competeing with players like Aaron Gordon, Tobias Harris, and Nikola Vucevic for playing time this season.

7/7/2014 10:09:00 PM
Description: Channing Frye has agreed to a four-year, $32 million contract with the Orlando Magic.
Insight: For some reason, the rebuilding Magic have given Frye and Ben Gordon a combined $41 million this offseason. Frye missed all of 2012-13 due to a heart condition before starting all 82 games for the Suns in 2013-14. He averaged 28.2 minutes, 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.0 threes per game, but he's actually entering a more crowded frontcourt in Orlando. The Magic will have to find a way to get minutes to Tobias Harris, Maurice Harkless, Kyle O'Quinn, Nikola Vucevic, rookie Aaron Gordon and Frye. In Phoenix, Markieff Morris will likely take over the starting power forward job after finishing fourth in Sixth Man of the Year voting last season.

Cold3/17/2014 10:02:00 PM
Description: Suns power forward Channing Frye has scored in single figures in nine of his last 13 games.
Insight: He had seven points in 19 minutes on Monday and hasn't been doing enough to help fantasy owners in the past month.

2/4/2014 9:53:00 AM
Description: Suns power forward Channing Frye missed Monday's practice (personal), but is expected to be available for Tuesday's contest with Chicago, according to beat reporter Craig Grialou.
Insight: Frye averaged 14.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 threes per game in January and has solid fantasy value.

1/19/2014 10:26:00 PM
Description: Suns power forward Channing Frye barely missed Sunday against the Nuggets, making 12-of-16 from the floor on his way to 30 points.
Insight: Frye has scored at least 20 points five times in 10 games this month but hasn't been able to string together two 20-point games. He had just six points Friday before Sunday's explosion that saw him hit five threes.

1/11/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: Suns power forward Channing Frye scored 20-plus points for the third time this month Saturday against the Pistons.
Insight: Frye hasn't been able to score 20 points in two consecutive games during that six-game span, however. He'll try to break the pattern Monday against the New York Knicks, the team that drafted him in 2005.

Hot11/28/2013 12:00:00 PM
Description: Suns power forward Channing Frye drilled three threes and 10-of-12 from the field overall for 25 points with nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal Wednesday against the Blazers.
Insight: Frye looked to be keeping the starting job warm for Markieff Morris but he is averaging 33 minutes, 18.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.3 blocks and 3.5 threes over his last four games.

11/22/2013 9:54:00 PM
Description: Suns power forward Channing Frye had a season-high 20 points with five threes Friday at Charlotte.
Insight: Frye has scored 20, 17 and 13 points in the past week but he also had zero points in 16 minutes Wednesday against Sacramento. He's averaging 25 minutes, 8.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 threes in 12 games (all starts) this season after missing all of 2012-13 with a heart condition.

10/30/2013 5:05:00 PM
Description: With Suns PF Markieff Morris suspended for a game, Channing Frye will start Wednesday's game.
Insight: Frye sat out all of last season due to an enlarged heart but he announced at the end of September that he would play this season. Phoenix is unlikely to turn him loose early this season.

10/11/2013 6:38:00 PM
Description: Suns forward Channing Frye thinks he'll be ready to play for the season opener.
Insight: Frye sat out all of last season due to an enlarged heart but he announced at the end of September that he would play this season. He's likely to be a role player off the bench for Phoenix, at least early in the season while he works on his conditioning, so he's not worth drafting in most leagues.

4/24/2012 5:35:00 PM
Description: Phoenix coach Alvin Gentry said Channing Frye's injured shoulder gives him a "very slim" chance to play tonight, according to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic.
Insight: Don't expect Frye to play tonight with a sublaxed right shoulder.

4/23/2012 6:02:00 PM
Description: Channing Frye's status for Tuesday's game in Utah is still up in the air. Frye suffered a sublaxation in his right shoulder and his wife went into labor on Tuesday.
Insight: The Suns desperately need a win on Tuesday to keep their slim playoff hopes alive and having Frye (10.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg) in the lineup would certainly help. Markieff Morris (7.5 ppg) and Hakim Warrick (6.3 ppg) are both candidates to fill in for Frye if he is unable to play.

3/23/2011 3:00:00 PM
Description: Frye enjoyed his best game since returning from the shoulder injury Tuesday night, scoring 32 points on 11-of-23 shooting and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Insight: Frye also played 57 minutes in the triple-overtime loss to the Lakers. We'll see if that means limited action at all Wednesday night against the Raptors, but it would be unwise to sit him unless the team announces something to that effect. (RapidDraft.com)

3/23/2011 2:04:00 AM
Description: Channing Frye absolutely went off on Tuesday with 32 points, 14 boards, and five bombs in the loss over 57 minutes.
Insight: Even Heinz thinks 57 is a lot and those minutes had to be put in bold since that is basically absurd. We really hope you were able to scoop him back up for the stretch run.

3/19/2011 10:01:00 AM
Description: Frye returned to the lineup Friday night and delivered 17 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes of action.
Insight: No reason for further concern about the shoulder he injured. Any worry about Frye's shooting was allayed by a trio of three-pointers in his return. (RapidDraft.com)

3/18/2011 12:02:00 PM
Description: Frye remains questionable for Friday's game, as he returns from a right shoulder injury.
Insight: Even if he plays, Frye certainly seems destined for limited minutes. If you own him, feel heartened that he's close to returning but wait and see him in game action before starting him again. (RapidDraft.com)

3/16/2011 9:03:00 PM
Description: The Arizona Republic reports that Frye could return as soon as Friday from the shoulder injury that has kept him out since the first week of March.
Insight: That seems like a best case, and we certainly can't expect the same Frye right away. We'll see how quickly his game rounds back into form once he does return. (RapidDraft.com)

3/9/2011 1:03:00 AM
Description: The Suns announced Monday that Frye will miss 2-3 weeks with the injury to his right shoulder.
Insight: Frye can't be expected to be instantly back to his familiar level when he returns from an injury to his shooting shoulder. Frye owners will have to keep an eye on his status and grab Hakim Warrick. (RapidDraft.com)

3/7/2011 12:27:00 AM
Description: Channing Frye dislocated his right (shooting) shoulder after scoring 11 and rebounding 15 in 32 minutes of action on Sunday.
Insight: Uh oh. It sounds like this is going to be a Rudy Gay-type of ending and Frye will likely miss a month with this injury. He will have an MRI and the results should be known tomorrow. There is a very good chance that the Suns opt to go small, which means that no single player is really worth a speculative add at this time.
