NBA Game Summary - Orlando at Charlotte

(Saturday, December 15th)

Final Score: Orlando 107, Charlotte 98

Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Arron Afflalo had 20 points and six rebounds as Orlando took a 107-98 win over struggling Charlotte at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Glen Davis had 20 points and Jameer Nelson gave 16 points and six assists while J.J. Redick added 14 points for the Magic, who have won three of four. Nikola Vucevic had 13 points and 13 rebounds in the win.

"You're seeing different relationships develop out there and it's just a sign of us playing and continuing to grow with each other," Magic coach Jacque Vaughn remarked.

Kemba Walker had a career-high 32 points along with seven assists for the Bobcats, who have dropped 11 straight contests. Gerald Henderson gave 16 points in defeat.

"The culprit here all game long was defense," Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap admitted. "When you give people 54 percent from the floor and they're getting over 100 regularly, you're going to have to make your stand there."

A Vucevic layup with under six minutes to play gave the Magic a 92-86 lead, but Walker scored the next seven points capped on a layup to give his club a 93-92 advantage with just over four minutes left.

Afflalo countered with a basket and Charlotte followed with a miss at the other end. After getting fouled, Davis made one-of-two at the line, but Bismack Biyombo was called for traveling and Redick buried a long 3-pointer for a 98-93 lead with under three minutes left.

Walker was fouled on a layup and hit the extra shot to make it a 102-98 game in the final minute, but Vucevic was fouled as he slammed the ball home and he made the freebie with 21 seconds to play to put the game away.

A 14-4 run in the early part of the first quarter helped the Magic take a 29-21 lead into the second quarter.

Orlando led by as many as 11 points in the second session, but the Bobcats cut that deficit to three points after Henderson hit a jumper with 1:54 to play.

Redick countered with a 3-pointer and Davis made a jumper in the closing seconds for a 56-48 advantage going into the break.

Charlotte rallied in the third quarter and held a two-point lead after a Ramon Sessions layup with just over four minutes to play in the frame, but Orlando answered with a 10-2 burst to take an 81-77 lead into the final frame.
