Description: First baseman Juan Francisco was released by the Milwaukee, reports Mike Vassallo of the Brewers.
Insight: Francisco jumped off to a quick start last April, batting .297 with four homers and 11 RBI, but could hit his weight the rest of the way. He finished at .227 with 18 HR and 48 RBI, but was beaten out this spring by Lyle Overbay and Mark Reynolds.

Description: Brewers 1B/3B Juan Francisco hit a pair of longballs and drove in four runs Wednesday at Texas.
Insight: In 56 games and 171 at-bats with the Brew Crew, Francisco has crushed 12 homers and is hitting .257 with an .865 OPS. He strikes out a ton -- 31.3 percent K rate with the Brewers, 33.5 percent for the season -- but he has balanced it out with a 10.3 percent walk rate with Milwaukee, compared to a 6.1 percent walk rate with the Braves. Overall, he's hitting .251 with 17 round-trippers, 45 RBI and a .796 OPS.

8/14/2013 10:12:00 AM
Description: Milwaukee corner infielder Juan Francisco is hitless in seven at-bats versus Texas starter Matt Garza with five strikeouts.
Insight: Francisco has shown off some power with 15 homers this season, but he obviously doesn't see the ball well against Garza and should be avoided.

6/27/2013 9:16:00 PM
Description: Milwaukee corner infielder Juan Francisco has recorded four hits in his last three games. Fortunately for fantasy owners, three of them have been home runs.
Insight: His batting average has actually fallen since coming to Milwaukee (.241 in 35 games with Atlanta, .196 in 19 games for the Brewers). At least Francisco is finally showing a little power. He'll try to extend his home run streak to four straight games Friday when the Brewers open their series with Pittsburgh.

6/3/2013 7:00:00 PM
Description: Monday the Braves dealt struggling third baseman Juan Francisco to the Brewers.
Insight: Milwaukee gave up minor league reliever Thomas Keeling to complete the trade. The Brewers already have Aramis Ramirez at third base so Francisco (.241, 5 HR, 16 RBI) won't see many at bats.

5/30/2013 3:27:00 PM
Description: Braves third baseman Juan Francisco has been designated for assignment.
Insight: Francisco was hitting .316 on April 24, but all the strikeouts caught up to him. He went 8-for-51 (.157) with one homer and 25 strikeouts over his last 19 games. Meanwhile, Chris Johnson is batting .346 this season.

5/8/2013 9:06:00 PM
Description: Braves third baseman Juan Francisco belted an eighth inning grand slam Wednesday in a victory over the Reds.
Insight: It was his only hit of the game. Francisco has amassed a .493 slugging percentage this season, which is the second-highest of his career.

5/5/2013 12:30:00 PM
Description: Atlanta third baseman Juan Francisco (ankle) is not ready to return to the lineup, according to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Insight: Francisco is dealing with a mild right ankle sprain and is day-to-day. However, he felt better Sunday and could return to the lineup early this week.

5/4/2013 9:58:00 AM
Description: Atlanta third baseman Juan Francisco injured his ankle Friday against the Mets and is doubtful for Saturday's game.
Insight: It looked a lot worse than the diagnosis which is a mild sprain and day-to-day status. Chris Johnson should get most of the playing time (.352, 2 HR, 9 RBI, .874 OPS) and could be a solid fantasy option.

Insight: Ramiro Pena has come on to take his place. Francisco swatted an RBI single before leaving the game.

4/16/2013 10:33:00 PM
Description: Braves third baseman Juan Francisco had the first multi-homer game of his career Tuesday against the Royals.
Insight: Francisco took Jeremy Guthrie deep twice with no one on base and also walked. He has three homers and seven RBIs this season and should continue to start at third base until Freddie Freeman returns to action, at which point Francisco and Chris Johnson will re-enter a platoon.

4/10/2013 10:14:00 PM
Description: Braves third baseman Juan Francisco picked up three hits Wednesday and hit his first homer of the season.
Insight: Francisco was 6-for-24 (.250) with zero extra-base hits and six strikeouts over his first seven games this season. Francisco will be the everyday third baseman, with Chris Johnson playing first, until Freddie Freeman comes off the DL.

3/21/2013 7:53:00 PM
Description: According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Thursday that he expects to use a third-base platoon to start the season.
Insight: Juan Francisco and Chris Johnson have both played well this spring so Gonzalez isn't ready to call the race yet. Francisco came into Thursday batting .353 with five homers in 18 games, while Johnson is batting .352 with three homers in 20. Neither player offers much upside for fantasy owners.

5/24/2012 10:30:00 PM
Description: Juan Francisco hit his fifth home run of the season on Thursday against the Reds, his former team.
Insight: Francisco has started 18 games in place of Chipper Jones at third base, batting .215 with four home runs in those games. As a pinch-hitter or substitute, Francisco is just 2-for-15, dragging his average to the Mendoza line. Jones owners can likely do better than Francisco as their backup third baseman, but keep in mind the Jones-Francisco duo has combined for nine home runs this season, tied for third among third basemen (one of Francisco's five homers came as a pinch-hitter, a day he wouldn't have been in daily fantasy lineups).

5/22/2012 10:59:00 AM
Description: Atlanta utility infielder Juan Francisco will get the starts with Chipper Jones sidelined and did hit a home run on Monday night, but doesn't show enough with the bat to install into your lineup.
Insight: Francisco, over his four-year major league career, is a .265 batter with a .757 OPS. Neither number should have you jumping to add him to your roster.

4/18/2011 2:59:00 PM
Description: The Reds placed utility player Juan Francisco on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a strained left calf. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: Francisco should not have been in your starting lineup anyway, so this news should not impact fantasy owners at all.
