Insight: While taking batting practice, Beltran hit a ball off the bottom of the screen and it bounced back and hit him. The injury just about sums up the day the Yankees have had -- Masahiro Tanaka was also placed on the disabled list with elbow soreness and Brett Gardner was scratched with an abdominal strain. Over his last 40 games, Beltran has hit .170 (25-for-147) with four homers, 15 RBI and a .542 OPS. He hasn't played the field since May 11 because of a bone spur in his elbow and he's been dealing with swelling in his right knee. He had surgery on the same knee in 2010.

Insight: Beltran hasn't been close to what the Yankees expected him to be this season, but he's a good enough hitter to turn things around quickly. Though he's struck out 11 times against Nolasco, he also has a home and 16 hits against him, so there's a chance he has a productive afternoon.

In the first year of his three-year, $45 million deal with the Yanks, Beltran has struggled, posting a .234 batting average and .715 OPS in 128 at-bats. Still, if he can remain healthy he could provide a significant boost to fantasy offenses.
