Description: Pirates left-handed pitching prospect Justin Wilson took a no-hitter into the sixth inning Friday night for Triple-A Indianapolis. Wilson finished with six innings of one-hit, one-run ball with eight strikeouts.
Insight: Wilson, the No. 9 prospect in Pittsburgh's organization according to MLB.com, allowed just one hit in his last start as well. The 24-year-old lefty is 5-4 with a 3.46 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 80 2/3 innings in 15 starts this season. Most impressively, he's allowed just 57 hits and has a .196 BAA. The Pirates don't need a starter right now, as Jeff Karstens will return next week to take the place of Brad Lincoln, but if another injury were to strike Pittsburgh's rotation, Wilson could get the call.
