Description: Philadelphia corner Brandon Boykin is not practicing Tuesday and still has to pass his concussion protocol.
Insight: Boykin has been one of the Eagles best defenders. Facing a matchup against the Bears and their two very talented receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, the Eagles will need every cornerback they have.
Description: Eagles quarterback Nick Foles continued to put up huge fantasy numbers in Week 15 at Minnesota.
Insight: Foles managed to generate 19 fantasy points despite playing in a blizzard last week and he had a field day in the Metrodome Sunday. Foles threw for 428 yards and three touchdowns with one pick and rushed for 41 yards.
Description: LeSean McCoy set an Eagles record with 217 rushing yards Sunday in a 34-20 win over Detroit.
Insight: Roughly two thirds of his yardage came in the fourth quarter (148 yards). McCoy leads the NFL in rushing (1,305 yards on 261 carries) and is just four yards away from tying his career-high. He's a top-five fantasy running back.
Description: Philadelphia QB Nick Foles shredded the Cardinals for 237 yards and three touchdowns Sunday afternoon.
Insight: Foles threw his first interception of the season but it was overturned by a defensive holding penalty. He now has 19 touchdowns without an interception this season and has proven to be a top-10 fantasy QB heading into Week 14 against the Lions.
Description: According to Reuben Frank of csnphilly.com, Eagles coach Chip Kelly said Nick Foles will be the team's starting quarterback the rest of the season.
Insight: Kelly said Foles won't have to look over his shoulder if he has a bad game now that Michael Vick is healthy. Foles has completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 1,554 yards, 16 touchdowns and zero interceptions this season. However, he has a brutal matchup in Week 13 against Arizona.
Description: Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy is officially questionable to return to Sunday's game with a right hamstring injury, according to philadelphiaeagles.com.
Insight: McCoy picked up 37 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and also caught a 49-yard pass on a wheel route against the Redskins. However, he tweaked his hamstring in the second quarter and had to go to the locker room. The Eagles have a 17-0 lead, so they may not want to force the issue with McCoy.
Description: Philadelphia QB Michael Vick says he's still about a week or two away from returning. SOURCE: Albert Breer, NFL.com
Insight: Vick was inactive Sunday because of a hamstring injury. With Nick Foles playing some of the best football of his career right now (14 TD, 0 INT), there's no guarantee that Vick will win back the starting job once he's healthy enough to return.
Description: Eagles receiver Riley Cooper corralled five passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns Sunday at Oakland.
Insight: In Nick Foles' three starts this season, Cooper has 347 yards and four touchdowns on 15 catches. In Michael Vick's six starts, he has 10 catches for 106 yards and one touchdown. After throwing seven touchdown passes Sunday, Foles is likely to hold onto Philadelphia's starting job the rest of the season, so Cooper could turn into a decent fantasy option in deeper leagues.
Description: Eagles quarterback Nick Foles tied the NFL record with seven passing touchdowns Sunday against the Raiders. He also completed 22-of-28 passes for 406 yards.
Insight: This one came out of nowhere. Foles missed Week 8 with a concussion after looking extremely skittish in Week 7, so he likely wasn't started by many fantasy owners in a hostile environment at Oakland. Foles likely will hold onto the Eagles starting job for the rest of the season after this performance.
Description: Eagles coach Chip Kelly says that Nick Foles will start at quarterback Sunday against the Raiders.
Insight: Foles, who missed last week's game because of a concussion, is filling in for the injured Mike Vick (hamstring). He could be a nice bye week fill-in for owners of Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford and Colin Kaepernick.
Description: Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left Sunday's game against the Giants in the second quarter after aggravating his hamstring injury and coach Chip Kelly said on Monday that he didn't think he would be ready for Week 9.
Insight: Vick, who obviously wasn't 100 percent before re-injuring the hamstring, was ineffective in the time that he was on the field going just 6-for-9 for 31 yards and an interception. If Nick Foles isn't ready for return, then it would be wise to stay far away from all Eagles' players.
Description: Eagles quarterback Michael Vick (hamstring) took all the first-team reps in practice Tuesday and will start against New York.
Insight: Vick won't be 100 percent, but the Giants pass rush isn't as good as it has been in past seasons. I can play if I'm 80 [percent]." With six teams on a bye this week, Vick is a top-10 fantasy quarterback this week.
Description: Eagles quarterback Michael Vick (hamstring) took all the first-team reps in practice Tuesday, according to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com.
Insight: There were reports that Matt Barkley took the reps, but Barkley said Vick took them. Vick said he's "optimistic" about playing in Week 8. "I've got a good chance. I can play if I'm 80 [percent]." With six teams on a bye this week, Vick is a top-10 fantasy quarterback against the Giants.
Description: Eagles quarterback Michael Vick could be back in Week 8, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Insight: Vick missed his second straight game Sunday against Dallas due to a hamstring injury. Nick Foles played well in Week 6 but was awful Sunday and ended up leaving with a head injury. We should see Vick back as soon as he is healthy enough to play.
Description: Philadelphia backup quarterback Nick Foles is taking reps with the first team on Tuesday, according to Eagles beat reporter Geoff Mosher.
Insight: Although the team hasn't named a starter for Week 7 versus Dallas their early week actions indicate that Foles will get the nod. Things could still change later in the week if Vick shows he's 100 percent healthy.
Description: According to NBC's Pro Football Talk, Michael Vick's hamstring injury may cost him the next two games.
Insight: Vick won't play Sunday at Tampa Bay and there's a chance he may be out for Week 7's game against the Cowboys as well. Vick hasn't played a full 16-game slate since 2006 so you knew an injury was coming sooner or later. Nick Foles will lead the offense in his absence.
Description: Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson easily dominated the Giants for seven catches, 132 yards and a touchdown Sunday afternoon.
Insight: It didn't matter who was playing quarterback for the Eagles on Sunday, Jackson was getting open and getting the football. He now has 525 yards and three scores on 28 catches through five games, but will have to deal with Darrelle Revis in Week 6 at Tampa Bay.
Description: Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Michael Vick (hamstring) Sunday against the Giants.
Insight: Vick suffered a right hamstring injury in the first half. Foles was actually more effective through the air, completing 16-of-25 compared to 6-of-14 for Vick. The Eagles play next week at Tampa Bay, where Foles picked up his lone career victory with 381 yards and three touchdowns last season. However, he's not a recommended play next week if he has to start; Tampa Bay upgraded it's pass defense with the acquisitions of Darrelle Revis and Dashon Goldson this offseason.
Description: Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is questionable to return to Sunday's game due to a hamstring injury.
Insight: Nick Foles came into the game in the second quarter and remained in the game after the half, so it doesn't look like Vick will be returning. Foles has played better anyway, completing 9-of-11 for 90 yards compared to 6-of-14 for 105 yards from Vick.
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (right ankle sprain) was practicing on Wednesday.
Insight: McCoy should be ready to go when the Eagles face the explosive Denver Broncos. He had fans and fantasy owners holding their breath with what looked to be a serious leg injury against Kansas City last Thursday, but returned to the game and performed well. Start him as always.
Description: Eagles running back LeSean McCoy said he has a right ankle sprain, but wasn't limping after he returned to the action in the third quarter.
Insight: McCoy had fans and fantasy owners holding their breath with what looked to be a serious leg injury, but returned to the game and performed well totaling 158 yards (92 yards after the injury) and a score on 20 carries.
Description: Eagles halfback LeSean McCoy suffered a right leg injury in the second quarter of Thursday's game against Kansas City.
Insight: He was able to walk off the field on his own power, which is always an encouraging sign. NFL Network's sideline reporter Alex Flanagan saw McCoy throw down his helmet, so obviously he's very frustrated. We should have an update on McCoy's condition shortly.
Description: Eagles defensive back Bradley Fletcher, who suffered a concussion on Monday night in Week 1 and missed the game with San Diego, is cleared for this weekend and was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Insight: The return of Fletcher can only help a defense that yielded 419 and three touchdowns to Philip Rivers.
Description: Carolina safety Quintin Mikell was seen leaving the locker room on Sunday with a protective boot on his right foot.
Insight: Mikell was one of three Panthers defensive backs to come out of the Week 2 contest injured. Charles Godfrey (Achilles) may be done for the season while D.J. Moore played through a left knee sprain.
Description: Two weeks into the Chip Kelly era, Eagles QB Michael Vick looks like an elite fantasy option.
Insight: Vick threw for 428 yards and two touchdowns on 24-of-37 passing and rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Chargers. Vick has six total touchdowns and zero picks over the first two games. He's a must-start in all leagues right now but it would be wise to shop him around before he gets injured.
Description: Eagles defensive back Bradley Fletcher, who suffered a concussion on Monday night, is inactive for Week 2 against San Diego.
Insight: This injury will result in nickel back Brandon Boykin seeing a lot of playing time. The Eagles gave up 329 yards passing to a rusty Robert Griffin III in Week 1 and face philip Rivers who tossed four touchdowns last week.
Description: Bad news for LeSean McCoy owners - even the running back thinks he shouldn't get 32 touches in a game. "I think we can do a better job rotating because it's a long season. I don't think I need to have the ball 31, 32 times in a game for us to be a successful offense," McCoy told phillymag.com.
Insight: McCoy shredded the Redskins for 184 yards on the ground Monday in a season-opening win at Fed Ex Field, but the 32 touches have to be near the top limit of his workload. Expect coach Chip Kelly to give backup Bryce Brown addition work in Week 2.
Description: Michael Vick led the Eagles with 203 passing yards and two touchdowns Monday against the Redskins.
Insight: It's worth mentioning that Vick (nine rushes for 54 yards and one touchdown) did almost all of his damage in the first half and was mostly kept in check after half time. Still, fantasy owners have to be encouraged by how comfortable he looked in Chip Kelly's new offense. The Eagles are back home next week to take on the Chargers.
Description: Philadelphia running back LeSean McCoy shredded the Redskins for 184 yards on the ground Monday in a season-opening win at Fed Ex Field.
Insight: What a performance. Clearly Chip Kelly's fast-paced offense suits McCoy perfectly. McCoy should be in for a big rebound year after a relatively disappointing 2012 campaign (840 yards, two touchdowns).
Description: Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson is going to return punts when the games count, according to coach Chip Kelly.
Insight: Jackson is the best receiver on the team, and with Jeremy Maclin out for the season by a large margin, so returning punts could be a big gamble, but fantasy owners in return-yardage leagues just saw Jackson's value jump. A repeat of his 2009 or 2010 production would certainly make fantasy owners happy.
Description: As expected after two solid performances in the first two preseason games and a very good training camp, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has won the starting job over Nick Foles.
Insight: Vick is just the best fit for Chip Kelly's offense. On Thursday he was better at getting the ball downfield than Foles or Matt Barkley and went 9-for-10 for 105 yards. His only blemish was an end-of-the-first half Hail Mary. He's 13-for-15 with a 113.2 QB rating over the two exhibition games and excited about the up tempo offense. Now if he can just stay healthy for 16 games ...
Description: Eagles beat writer Jimmy Kempski reports that quarterback Michael Vick took almost all the first team reps on Saturday.
Insight: Vick is just the best fit for Chip Kelly's offense. On Thursday he was better at getting the ball downfield than Nick Foles or Matt Barkley and he's certainly better in the read option portion of the offense. It didn't hurt that Vick went 9-for-10 for 105 yards and his only turnover was an end-of-the-first half Hail Mary, while Foles fumbled two snaps and threw an interception in the red zone. Even if it hasn't been announced the decision appears to have been made.
Description: Fantasy owners should not shy away from Eagles running back LeSean McCoy this season.
Insight: McCoy is finding plenty of running room in the new Chip Kelly offense. He rushed for 47 yards on eight carries in Thursday's game against Carolina. The only concern we see is that he wasn't involved in the pass game which was a big part of his value in the Andy Reid offenses of the past.
Description: Eagles quarterback Michael Vick should be the team's starting quarterback on opening day.
Description: FOX Sports reporter Jay Glazer said it doesn't seem like there's any question at all that Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback for the Eagles.
Insight: Glazer took in Philadelphia's joint practice with the New England Patriots Wednesday before making that assessment via Twitter. Vick will start the Eagles' preseason opener and while he might not be the perfect choice he seems like a better fit for Chip Kelly's offense than Nick Foles or Matt Barkley.
Description: Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson is having an excellent camp, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Insight: He'll need to be at his best this season as the Eagles are incredibly thin at wideout after losing both Jeremy Maclin and Arrelious Benn before the exhibition season begins. A repeat of his 2009 or 2010 production would certainly make fantasy owners happy.
Description: According to NFL.com, Eagles receiver Arrelious Benn tore his left ACL Tuesday.
Insight: It's the same ACL that was repaired in 2010. Benn is the second Eagles' receiver to tear his ACL during training camp after Jeremy Maclin tore his last week. While keeping Riley Cooper on the roster might be controversial after a video surfaced of Cooper using a racial slur, it doesn't appear that the Eagles have much choice at this point.
Description: Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper has been excused from all team activities while he seeks couseling. SOURCE: Eagles on Twitter
Insight: Footage of Cooper using a racial epithet at a Kenny Chesney concert surfaced earlier this week. Cooper seemed sincere in his apology but most of his teammates have already turned their backs on him. At this point, it seems inevitable that Cooper and the Eagles will be forced to part ways.
Description: According to Sports Illustrated, commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to let the Eagles discipline Riley Cooper for using a racial slur at a concert last month.
Insight: The Eagles have already announced that Cooper will undergo sensitivity training and yesterday ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported that he will also be fined for his actions. In his public apology Cooper said, "I am so ashamed and disgusted with myself ... I owe an apology to the fans and to this community." Cooper's teammate Michael Vick accepted the apology, tweeting, "Riley's my friend. Our relationship is mutual respect. He looked me in the eyes and apologized. I believe in forgiveness and I believe in him." Cooper is slated to start at wide receiver for the Eagles this season.
Description: Philadelphia wideout Riley Cooper was fined for using a racial slur at a Kenny Chesney concert last month. SOURCE: Sal Paolantonio, ESPN
Insight: Cooper seemed sincere in his apology but that might not be enough to earn back the trust of his teammates. With Jeremy Maclin out for the season, the Eagles are counting on Cooper to have a big season. So far, he's not off to a great start.
Description: Quarterback Donovan McNabb will retire as an Eagle on Monday. SOURCE: NBC Sports
Insight: McNabb appeared in six Pro Bowls during his tenure with the Eagles including five in a row between 2000 and 2004. He led Philadelphia to one Super Bowl, which the Eagles lost to New England in 2004. He threw for 234 touchdowns and rushed for 29 more during his 13 seasons in the league. The Hall of Fame isn't a sure thing for McNabb but he'll certainly be given consideration.
Description: ESPN's Adam Caplan confirms that Eagles wideout Jeremy Maclin has suffered a torn ACL in his right knee. He'll miss all of the 2013 season.
Insight: He suffered the injury at practice on Saturday. Maclin led the Eagles in receiving yards last season so he's going to be tough to replace. Expect DeSean Jackson and Riley Cooper to receive more targets this season with Maclin on the sidelines.
Description: According to Jordan Raanan of NJ.com, Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin believes he suffered an ACL tear in training camp Saturday. Update: Upon first examination, the Eagles fear Maclin has a torn ACL and MCL, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Insight: Maclin was carted off the field Saturday. It's a devastating break for the Eagles and for Maclin, who is in the last year of his contract.
Description: Philadelphia tight end Brent Celek is apparently thought of as the "blocking" tight end by coach Chip Kelly, according to Bob Ford of philly.com.
Insight: Celek had 57 catches receptions for 684 yards last season, but is appears James Casey and rookie Zach Ertz will do most of the receiving work in 2013. Tight ends by committee may work for the Eagles, but fantasy owners will have to avoid all of them.
Description: Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson fired his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, earlier this week.
Insight: Now Rosenhaus is filing a grievance against Jackson, claiming that the wide receiver still owes him over $400,000 in unpaid loans. Jackson won't be allowed to talk to other agents until Friday but he's supposedly very interested in joining Roc Nation, a sport management group led by rapper Jay-Z. Jackson netted 700 receiving yards in 11 games last season.
Description: Running back Felix Jones signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Insight: Barring an injury to starter LeSean McCoy, Jones and Bryce Brown figure to have a limited upside for the upcoming season. The only good news for Jones fans is that new coach, Chip Kelly, while playing at an up tempo, prefers to run the ball first and pass second.
Description: A Philadelphia Inquirer report indicates that Matt Barkley could be the Eagles' Week 1 starter at quarterback.
Insight: The other candidates are Mike Vick and Nick Foles. Barkley fell all the way to the fourth round at the draft last month after entering the 2012 season as a possible No. 1 pick. This report sounds a little ambitious but anything's possible with the Eagles.
Description: The Eagles took USC quarterback Matt Barkley with the first pick of the fourth round.
Insight: He'll compete with Nick Foles for the backup quarterback position this summer. Michael Vick is pretty injury-prone so it's possible we could see Barkley start a few games for the Birds in 2013.
Description: The Eagles have released cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha after two disappointing seasons, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Insight: Asomugha was once considered a top-two cornerback in the NFL but that seems like ages ago. He was a major bust with Philadelphia, getting beat frequently in coverage and showing terrible ball skills.
Description: Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who had been asked to rework his contract, is expected to be released on Wednesday.
Insight: Asomugha never did solidify the Eagles secondary as the team thought he would when the signed him away from Oakland. In two seasons with Philadelphia (32 games), Asomugha totaled four interceptions, zero forced fumbles and 94 tackles,
Description: USA Today reports that the Chiefs are looking into acquiring Eagles quarterback Nick Foles.
Insight: Now that Michael Vick, a perfect fit for Chip Kelly's new run-oriented attack, has re-signed with the Eagles, it doesn't look like Foles will have a chance to start in 2013. Andy Reid coached Foles in Philadelphia so playing for him again in Kansas City wouldn't be a difficult transition. If the Chiefs are able to trade for Foles (six TD, five INT last season), they would likely release incumbent starter Matt Cassel (six TD, 12 INT).
Description: The Eagles have agreed to a two-year contract with quarterback Dennis Dixon. SOURCE: Chris Mortensen, ESPN
Insight: New Eagles coach Chip Kelly was Oregon's OC in Dixon's senior year before becoming head coach there for four years. Dixon hasn't proven that he has enough talent to compete at the NFL level but he fits into the offense Kelly wants to run so he could see some action in 2013.
Description: Quarterback Michael Vick and the Eagles have come to an agreement on a three-year deal.
Insight: It still doesn't mean that Vick will end up playing for the Eagles in 2013-14. It's way too early to figure out what the Eagles will do at quarterback. With Vick and Nick Foles on the roster we're even confused as to what type of offense they will run. Stay tuned.
Description: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that quarterback Michael Vick has no interest in playing for the Jets next season.
Insight: The Jets could really use a QB and with the Eagles likely to cut him, Vick could be the best quarterback on the open market this offseason. GM John Idzik suggested that the Jets could go after Bills backup Tavaris Jackson if the team is unable to convince Vick to come to New York.
Description: The signing of Chip Kelly as the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles may not be good news for fantasy owners who were planning on keeping quarterback Nick Foles on their dynasty rosters.
Insight: Foles had a nice season as the replacement for injured Michael Vick, but at 6'5" and 245 lbs he is not the type of quarterback Kelly has utilized in his wide open Oregon offenses.
Description: David Akers has won the 49ers kicking competition and will kick in Saturday's Divisional Round matchup with the Packers. SOURCE: Cam Inman, Bay Area News Group
Insight: Billy Cundiff will remain on the roster as insurance but is unlikely to suit up Saturday. San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh said Akers gives the team its "best chance to win." After a record-setting 2011-12 season that saw Akers drill 44 field goals in 52 attempts, he only made 29-of-42 (69 percent) this season.
Description: San Francisco place-kicker David Akers and newly-signed Billy Cundiff could both be on this weekend's roster, according to coach Jim Harbaugh.
Insight: Harbaugh wouldn't say which of the two would get the field goal tries in Saturday's game against Green Bay, but did say there was a "leader in the clubhouse," Akers hasn't been very good this season, making only 29-of-42 field goal attempts and dealing with a hip injury. Unless we are given better updates you should avoid using either kicker.
Description: In what was likely his final game as a Philadelphia Eagle, quarterback Michael Vick threw for 197 yards, one touchdown and one pick Sunday in his first action since Week 10.
Insight: Vick missed six games after suffering a concussion and losing the starting job to Nick Foles when he was close to being recovered. However, Foles' injury in Week 16 opened the door for one last Vick appearance.
Description: Eagles receiver Jason Avant left the season finale against New York with a foot/knee problem.
Insight: Avant has been one of the team's primary targets over the last four games with 22 receptions for 326. The receiving workload will fall on Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper and Damaris Johnson if Avant can't return.
Description: Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin injured his knee in practice on Wednesday.
Insight: Maclin has seen a resurgence over the last three games with DeSean Jackson out for the season because of a rib injury (97.7 ypg, two TD). Jason Avant will be asked to play a leading role in the Eagles offense Sunday against New York if Maclin is unable to suit up.
Description: Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick could return to the starting lineup after the hand injury to rookie QB Nick Foles.
Insight: We all know that Vick has the talent to produce big fantasy points, but he also has the ability to post frighteningly high turnover numbers. He'd be auditioning for a job for next season as the Eagles aren't expected to keep Vick on the roster.
Description: Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles had his second career 300-yard passing game Sunday versus Washington, but it will be his last of the season as he suffered a broken hand.
Insight: Foles had thrown for over 300 yards in two of the last three games, but wasn't in the class of the other more well-known rookie starting QBs - Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III or Russell Wilson. Still he showed plenty of potential if the Eagles can straighten out their offensive line.
Description: Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles had his second career 300-yard game Sunday versus Washington. Foles completed 32-48 for 345 yards with one touchdown and one pick. He also lost a fumble for the second straight game.
Insight: Foles has coughed up the ball eight times in seven games, but he has proven capable of moving the offense as of late. As a result, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant have had renewed fantasy relevance.
Description: Eagles RB LeSean McCoy is active and will return to the field in Week 16.
Insight: McCoy is expected to see the majority of the workload with Bryce Brown getting the change-of-pace work. The two-week dream run for Brown is long gone and its back to reality as McCoy's backup, but the rookie will get enough work that fantasy owners must lower expectations for McCoy.
