Description: Celtics shooting guard Paul Pierce turned in his worst game of the series Friday night against the Knicks.
Insight: Pierce (14 points) couldn't buy a shot in Game 6 (4-for-18 including 1-for-9 on three-pointers). Overall, he shot just 36.6 percent for the series. The Celtics captain had his elbow looked at on the bench so clearly he wasn't at 100 percent. Now Boston must decide whether to keep Pierce for $15 million next season or buy him out.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers shortened his rotation to just seven players Wednesday night in Game 5.
Insight: After averaging 16.3 minutes per game in Games 1-3, Crawford has played a combined seven minutes over Boston's last two games. Terrence Williams and Jason Terry were the only bench players to see any action in Game 5. Crawford's unnecessary post-game altercation with Carmelo Anthony and Raymond Felton on Wednesday probably didn't help his case for getting more playing time.
Description: Kevin Garnett was Boston's best player Wednesday in Game 5 against the Knicks (16 points, 18 rebounds, five assists, two blocks).
Insight: Garnett drilled a 20-foot jump shot over Tyson Chandler to seal the game with 48 seconds left. He played 39 out of a possible 48 minutes. Boston will host Game 6 Friday night at TD Garden.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green has taken over as Boston's No. 2 scoring option in the playoffs and doing a solid job off the glass.
Insight: Green is averaging 20.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 2.3 apg to improve on what we saw in the second half of the regular season. He's made himself into a solid fantasy asset,
Description: Celtics guard Jason Terry will make a rare start Friday night in Game 3. SOURCE: Chris Forsberg, ESPN Boston
Insight: Doc Rivers will go with a smaller lineup featuring Terry and Avery Bradley at guard, Paul Pierce and Jeff Green at the two forward spots and Kevin Garnett at center. Brandon Bass and Jordan Crawford will come off the bench.
Description: Boston coach Doc Rivers said that Jordan Crawford has moved ahead of Courtney Lee in the rotation. SOURCE: Gary Dzen, Boston.com
Insight: Crawford played 25 minutes and scored 10 points on 11 field-goal attempts in Game 2 against the Knicks, and Lee logged just four minutes. "I'm not playing him right now," coach Doc Rivers said of Lee. "Jordan has moved ahead of him on the depth chart."
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett (hip pointer) will play Game 3 against the Knicks on Friday, coach Doc Rivers confirmed. SOURCE: Boston Globe
Insight: Garnett has struggled with his shot this postseason (38.1 percent). As one of the most competitive players out there, we never expected him to miss the game.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett injured his hip Tuesday in a blowout loss to New York. SOURCE: Chris Forsberg, ESPN Boston
Insight: Garnett has struggled with his shot this postseason (38.1 percent). He'll play through the pain Friday night in a must-win Game 3 at TD Garden.
Description: Boston backup big man Shavlik Randolph is probable for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Tuesday against New York with a bruised lower back.
Insight: Randolph has little to no fantasy value as long as center Kevin Garnett and power forward Brandon Bass are healthy.
Description: Celtics SG/SF Paul Pierce is probable for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Saturday against New York while dealing with a sore left ankle.
Insight: Pierce has been in and out of the lineup recently, but that was just in preparation for the playoffs. he should be good to go. He has been a solid all-around contributor putting up 18.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 4.8 apg, 1.1 spg and 1.9 threes per contest.
Description: Even though he hasn't played in almost three months, Celtics guard Rajon Rondo still ended the season with the highest assist average in the NBA (11.1 apg).
Insight: Rondo's average has hovered in that 11 to 12 range for the last three seasons and we imagine it would be in that same neighborhood in 2013-14 when his knee is healthy again. Chris Paul finished second with an average of 9.7 apg while New Orleans' Greivis Vasquez came in third in the assist race with an even nine per contest.
Description: Celtics big man Kevin Garnett won't be in action Wednesday against Toronto. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, Comcast Sports New England
Insight: He'll finish the 2012-13 regular season with 14.8 ppg on 49.6 percent shooting. Garnett and the C's will take on the Knicks in the first round of the playoffs. The series starts this weekend in New York.
Description: Boston shooting guard Jason Terry is getting the night off Wednesday against the Raptors.
Insight: Doc Rivers would prefer to have the veteran fresh for the postseason. Terry (10.1 ppg on 43.4 percent shooting) really hasn't had a very good season but he's still a scoring threat, especially when he gets hot from long-range (37.2 percent on three-pointers in 2012-13).
Description: Tuesday night's Celtics/Pacers game at TD Garden has been canceled because of the bombing that took place at the Boston Marathon on Monday afternoon.
Insight: The game won't be made up. Indiana will finish the regular season Wednesday against Philadelphia while Boston closes the year Wednesday at Toronto.
Description: Celtics SG/SF Paul Pierce returned from an ankle injury to play on Saturday, but missed Monday's practice and his participation on Tuesday is up in the air.
Insight: Fantasy owners should expect that Tuesday, if he plays, will be his last until the playoffs as the 35-year-old who has averaged around 34 minutes per game, needs his rest.
Description: C's guard Courtney Lee went off for 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting Saturday against his former team, the Orlando Magic.
Insight: He did it in 29 minutes of court time. Lee has been automatic from three-point range recently. He went 3-for-3 from that distance Saturday and overall he's been a 44.3 percent long range shooter since the All-Star break. Doc Rivers' decision to move Paul Pierce to shooting guard has cost Lee some minutes over the past couple weeks. The good news is that Pierce probably won't see his usual allotment of minutes over the next two games, which makes Lee an appealing fantasy option in the short term.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers wasn't happy with Jason Terry's pre-game comments about the Magic. As a result, he's been benched for Saturday's contest in Orlando. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, Comcast Sports New England
Insight: Terry called the Magic "terrible," a fairly ironic remark considering how poorly his own team has played recently (2-5 in the last seven games). It's possible Rivers could bench the opinionated shooting guard for the rest of the regular season. This incident certainly won't help the struggling C's find momentum heading into the playoffs.
Description: Paul Pierce was a no-go for Friday's game against the Heat, but he is expected to play on Saturday. The shooting guard/small forward is dealing with a sore ankle.
Insight: If Pierce and Garnett return to the court, fantasy owners will need to lower their expectations for Jeff Green, who put up 25 points while the two watched from the sidelines on Friday night.
Description: Celtics center Kevin Garnett (ankle) didn't participate in Friday night's game against the Heat, but is expected to make his return on Saturday against Orlando.
Insight: Garnett has missed 11 of the last 15 games, but should be ready for the playoffs. He's averaging 14.8 ppg and 7.8 rpg this season.
Description: With Paul Pierce out, Jordan Crawford drew the start for the Celtics Friday against the Heat and scored 20 points with four rebounds, two steals and two triples in 36 minutes.
Insight: Crawford is only averaging 8.6 ppg since joining the Celtics, but he could be useful if Boston holds out Pierce in any of the remaining three games.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored 25 points and had eight rebounds in 36 minutes Friday against the Heat, but he suffered an elbow injury late in the game.
Insight: According to A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com, Celtics coach Doc Rivers expects Green to play Saturday against the Magic, so the injury can't be that serious.
Description: Paul Pierce is a no-go for Friday's game against the Heat. The shooting guard/small forward is dealing with a sore ankle.
Insight: By sitting Garnett and Pierce on Friday the Celtics seem to have accepted the fact that they'll be the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. They'll likely face the Knicks in the first round of the playoffs. Boston has lost three in a row against New York but they swept the Knicks when they faced them two years ago in the postseason.
Description: Celtics center Kevin Garnett won't participate in Friday night's game against the Heat.
Insight: He's listed on the injury report as having a sore ankle but we all know Doc Rivers is really just resting him for the playoffs. Fans who paid big bucks to see this game are probably going to be thoroughly disappointed when they get to their seats. Paul Pierce will also be out of the lineup and Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh have been sitting out as well.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce (ankle) is expected to play Wednesday against the Nets, according to ESPN Boston.
Insight: Pierce said prior to Tuesday's practice that his sore right ankle is continuing to improve. "It's getting better," Pierce said. "I'm getting treatment, doing the necessary things I need to do to be better. It's doing a lot better."
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass had one of his better games of the season Sunday night in a win over Washington.
Insight: Bass (20 points) has averaged 17 ppg and 6.7 rpg over his last three contests. Of greater significance is the fact that despite Kevin Garnett's return from an ankle injury, Bass remained in the starting lineup and played 36 minutes.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley will be in the lineup Sunday against Washington. He suffered a collar bone injury late in Friday night's loss to Cleveland.
Insight: Bradley is known as a defensive specialist and isn't much of a scorer (9.3 ppg in 45 appearances). He's shot just 40.1 percent from the field this season.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce is active for Sunday's tilt against Washington.
Insight: He sat out Friday versus Cleveland because of a sore ankle. Pierce shot just 2-of-12 from the field when he faced the Wizards back in November.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett will start Sunday against the Wizards. He's been out the last two weeks because of ankle inflammation.
Insight: He practiced in full on Saturday so we figured he was close to returning. Head coach Doc Rivers hinted that he probably won't see his usual workload so fantasy owners should only expect about 20 to 25 minutes of KG on Sunday.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce didn't play Friday night's game against the Cavaliers, but could return for Sunday's game. He's still recovering from an ankle injury.
Insight: Pierce has missed two of the last three games while he tries to get ready for a playoff run. When on the court he's the focal point of the Boston offense and is a must start.
Description: Avery Bradley's injury isn't serious. The Celtics guard suffered a bruised left collar bone and could have returned to action Friday night against Cleveland.
Insight: There were only three and a half minutes left and the Celtics were losing by a decent amount so there really wasn't much point in putting Bradley back in the game. As long as Bradley doesn't suffer a setback he should be fine for Sunday's game against Washington.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley got hurt in the fourth quarter and did not return Friday against Cleveland.
Insight: This injury couldn't have come at a worse time for the reeling Celtics. It's unclear exactly what the injury is but Bradley seemed to be in a lot of pain. Remember, Bradley has had multiple surgeries on his shoulder. It's possible he could have aggravated a past injury.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce won't be available for Friday night's game against the Cavaliers. He's still recovering from an ankle injury.
Insight: That means Jeff Green will be asked to lead the team on offense. Green is averaging 17.7 ppg on 50.7 percent shooting since the All-Star break.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce re-injured his right ankle Wednesday in a win against the Pistons, but has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game against Cleveland.
Insight: Pierce acknowledged that the injury has gotten to the point where he's considering resting it until the postseason. The Celtics have been destroyed by injuries all year. They've put together miracle playoff runs in the past, but with Rajon Rondo out and Pierce and Kevin Garnett both at less than 100 percent, that's not likely to happen again in 2013.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers has been impressed with Jeff Green's play recently and says he has earned a spot in the starting lineup, regardless of who is healthy. SOURCE: Scott Souza, MetroWest Daily News
Insight: With Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett banged up, Doc has little choice but to start Green but it seems like what Rivers is trying to say is that Green has surpassed Brandon Bass as the team's No. 1 power forward. The full fantasy implications of this won't come into effect until Boston gets healthy and that's unlikely to happen before the end of the regular season.
Description: Scott Souza from the MetroWest Daily News hears that Kevin Garnett's return has been pushed back to Sunday against Washington. Garnett, who has missed Boston's last seven games with a bum ankle, had been slated to return Friday against Cleveland.
Insight: And even that doesn't appear to be a sure thing. Fantasy owners who jumped on the Jeff Green bandwagon too late might need to find another power forward on the waiver wire to get them through the week.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce re-injured his right ankle Wednesday in a win against the Pistons. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: Pierce acknowledged that the injury has gotten to the point where he's considering resting it until the postseason. The Celtics have been destroyed by injuries all year. They've put together miracle playoff runs in the past but with Rajon Rondo out and Pierce and Kevin Garnett both at less than 100 percent, that's not likely to happen again in 2013.
Description: The Boston Globe is reporting that Celtics center Kevin Garnett is probable to return Friday night against Cleveland.
Insight: He's missed Boston's last seven games with an ankle issue. The C's went just 3-4 without him so Boston fans must be pretty relieved to hear that KG is healthy again. Of course, fantasy owners who have been riding Jeff Green (23.8 ppg on 56.8 percent shooting in his last five games) will have to lower their expectations a bit.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green dumped in 34 points on 13-of-19 shooting with six boards, one steal, four blocks and three triples Wednesday against the Pistons.
Insight: Green has scored at least 21 points in four of the last five games and is averaging 21.6 ppg over his last 10. However, we have to wonder how Kevin Garnett's return to action will affect Green's production.
Description: Boston forward Paul Pierce will be active Wednesday against the Pistons. He missed Monday's game in Minnesota for personal reasons. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely
Insight: Unfortunately for Celtics fans, Kevin Garnett will miss at least one more game before he's ready to return from an ankle injury. Pierce has struggled versus Detroit this season (11.5 ppg on 43.5 percent shooting in two games).
Description: Celtics small forward Paul Pierce didn't play Monday against Minnesota and missed the Wednesday morning shootaround, so the optimism that he was sure to return for tonight's game is gone.
Insight: Pierce had an ankle injury, but the official word was that he was out on Monday for "personal reasons" and now we don't know whether he's going to return. He's been the focal point of the Celtics' offense averaging 18.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 4.8 apg this season and 21.0 ppg and 11.6 rpg over his last three starts.
Description: Celtics' small forward Paul Pierce didn't play Monday against Minnesota, but is expected to return for Wednesday's game with Detroit.
Insight: Pierce had an ankle injury, but the official word was that he was out for "personal reasons." He's been the focal point of the Celtics' offense averaging 18.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 4.8 apg this season and 21.0 ppg and 11.6 rpg over his last three starts.
Description: Celtics small forward Paul Pierce won't be in the lineup Monday against Minnesota.
Insight: Pierce had been doubtful heading into tonight's game because of an ankle injury but according to the Celtics' Twitter account, Pierce is out for "personal reasons." The shorthanded C's will use a starting lineup of Courtney Lee, Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Chris Wilcox tonight versus the T-Wolves.
Description: Boston G/F Paul Pierce is doubtful for Monday's game against Minnesota with a sprained right ankle.
Insight: Pierce said he was just a little sore, but it looks like coach Doc Rivers is more concerned with getting ready for the playoffs and will sit him. Pierce has been huge - averaging 21.0 ppg, 11.6 rpg, 7.6 apg over his last three contests. Jeff Green would take over the offense if Pierce sits and would be a must-start option with Kevin Garnett also sidelined.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green had his second straight 27-point game Sunday against the Knicks. He's averaging 25 ppg over his last three.
Insight: Green has been a reliable fantasy option since late January -- 16.4 ppg average in his last 31 games -- but he has really stepped it up to a star level over his last eight games, averaging 21.5 ppg. Kevin Garnett is still about a week away from returning to action so Green should be owned in all leagues.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett is "feeling a lot better" but he won't be in the lineup Sunday versus New York. Garnett has missed the Celtics' last four games with an ankle injury. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: Garnett's noticeable improvement over the last week suggests that he could return faster than his original two-week timetable. We'd label him as questionable for Monday night's game in Minnesota.
Description: Boston guard Jason Terry had a rare 20-point game Friday against the Hawks, scoring 24 with five triples in 31 minutes.
Insight: Terry has scored 20 points exactly four times this season, his first in Boston. Courtney Lee (ankle) played just six minutes in his return to action Friday, Jordan Crawford played 21 and had five points and Avery Bradley played 26 and had eight points. Use Boston's guards at your own risk.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green had 27 points, four assists, four rebounds, two steals, one block and three treys in 38 minutes Friday against the Hawks.
Insight: With Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo out of action, Green is carrying the Celtics on his back right now. The forward has been a reliable fantasy option since late January -- 16.0 ppg average in his last 30 games -- but he has really stepped it up to a star level over his last seven games, averaging 20.7 ppg.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee (ankle) will return to action Friday against Atlanta but he'll do it off the bench, according to Boston broadcaster Sean Grande.
Insight: Lee is averaging 7.8 ppg this season and has little value, but not having him on the court is better for the fantasy value of Jordan Crawford. Crawford averaged 15.7 points, 4.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds over his last three games but he shouldn't be used when Lee is active.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee (ankle) will be a game-time decision Friday against the Hawks.
Insight: Lee is averaging 7.8 ppg this season and has little value, but not having him on the court is better for the fantasy value of Jason Terry and Jordan Crawford. Crawford is averaging 15.7 points, 4.3 assists and 3.3 rebounds over his last three games.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley cut his tongue Wednesday in a win against Cleveland. SOURCE: Scott Souza, MetroWest Daily News
Insight: It sounds painful but Bradley doesn't believe the injury will prevent him from playing Friday night against the Hawks. Since Rajon Rondo went down with a season-ending knee injury, Bradley has averaged 9.6 ppg in 28 games.
Description: Paul Pierce nearly went for a triple-double Wednesday in a win over Cleveland (19 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists).
Insight: Making a rare start at shooting guard, Pierce was dominant in the game's last few minutes, producing six of his 19 points during that span. Look for the veteran to be a force in all of the major categories while Courtney Lee and Kevin Garnett are out with injuries.
Description: Boston power forward Brandon Bass netted a season-high 22 points Wednesday against Cleveland.
Insight: Bass led all players in scoring. He was 8-of-14 from the field and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. He's got nice touch for a big man and could have sleeper potential the next two weeks in Kevin Garnett's absence.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green made his second buzzer-beater of the season Wednesday in a 93-92 victory over Cleveland.
Insight: Green produced 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists while logging a team-high 41 minutes of court time. Green's layup at the buzzer snapped a five-game losing streak for the Celtics. Friday the C's are back home to face Atlanta.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee (ankle) did not play Tuesday against the Knicks and is doubtful for Wednesday's game against Cleveland with a sprained left ankle.
Insight: Lee is averaging 7.8 ppg this season and has little value, but not having him on the court is better for the fantasy value of Jason Terry and Jordan Crawford.
Description: Celtics guard Jordan Crawford drew the start Tuesday with Courtney Lee out with an ankle injury and scored 14 points with four rebounds, six assists, one steal, two threes and six turnovers against the Knicks.
Insight: Crawford had 21 points off the bench Saturday with Lee on the sidelines. However, Lee could get back in the lineup as early as Wednesday, so don't rush to pick up Crawford.
Description: Jordan Crawford will start at shooting guard for the Celtics on Tuesday.
Insight: Crawford saw increased playing time Saturday with Courtney Lee (ankle) out of action and had 21 points in 27 minutes. Lee will miss Tuesday's game and is doubtful for Wednesday.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee (ankle) will not play Tuesday against the Knicks.
Insight: Lee is averaging 7.8 ppg this season and has little value, but not having him on the court is better for the fantasy value of Jason Terry and Jordan Crawford.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee (ankle) missed Saturday's game against the Grizzlies but has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game against New York.
Insight: Lee is averaging 7.8 ppg this season and has little value, but his return will eat into Jordan Crawford and Jason Terry's floor time.
Description: Celtics center Kevin Garnett has been diagnosed with left ankle inflammation. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: Boston GM Danny Ainge believes he'll be out of action for the next two weeks. Jeff Green is expected to take Garnett's place in the starting lineup. Green has averaged 22 ppg in five starts this season.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee (ankle) missed Saturday's game against the Grizzlies and is doubtful for Tuesday's game against New York.
Insight: Lee is averaging 7.8 ppg this season and can be cut in all leagues even though the ankle injury is minor.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett (ankle) is headed for an MRI back in Boston and is questionable for Tuesday's game against New York.
Insight: Garnett missed two games last week with a different injury. Jeff Green, who is averaging 16.1 ppg since the All-Star break, would move into the starting lineup and should be started if Garnett is sidelined.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett (ankle) is headed for an MRI back in Boston. He'll miss Saturday's game, according to Celtics broadcaster Sean Grande.
Insight: Garnett missed two games last week with a strained abductor muscle. Jeff Green, who is averaging 16.1 ppg since the All-Star break, will move back into the starting lineup. Green should be owned in all leagues even when Garnett returns.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee (ankle) will miss Saturday's game against the Grizzlies.
Insight: Lee is averaging 7.5 ppg this month after putting up 10.3 ppg in February. He can be cut in all leagues even though the ankle injury is minor.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee left Friday's game against Dallas with a sprained left ankle and is questionable for Saturday at Memphis.
Insight: Despite the addition of Jordan Crawford, Lee's playing time as remained constant, however he's only scored in double-digits three times in the last 11 games. If he's not scoring his fantasy value is low.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce tallied 28 points Wednesday in a loss to New Orleans.
Insight: Pierce has a reputation for making big shots in crunch time but Wednesday he couldn't deliver. His miss with 15 seconds left allowed the Hornets to get off one last shot which Anthony Davis tipped in with 0.3 seconds left. Overall Pierce was 9-of-17 from the field including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. He was a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett poured in 20 points Wednesday in his first game back from a thigh injury.
Insight: Garnett was an efficient 9-of-16 from the floor with six rebounds in 29 minutes. He's only committed one turnover over his last three games. The Celtics will look to snap their two-game losing streak Friday night against the Mavericks.
Description: As expected, Celtics center Kevin Garnett will be back in action Wednesday versus New Orleans. Garnett sat out Monday because of the flu.
Insight: Red-hot Jeff Green won't see quite as many minutes now that Garnett is back but both players are worth starting against the struggling Hornets (losers of four straight and seven of the last eight).
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett (strained thigh, flu) has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game in New Orleans. Garnett was a true game-time decision before sitting out the Monday night game with the Heat and now appears ready to play his regular workload.
Insight: Garnett's return should force fantasy owners to lower their expectations toward Jeff Green who went crazy against the Heat scoring a career-high 43 points with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, four blocks and five 3-pointers.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett (strained thigh, flu) missed Monday's game against the Heat and is questionable for Wednesday's game. Garnett was a true game-time decision so it seems very possible he'll return tomorrow.
Insight: Jeff Green got the start at PF with Brandon Bass moving to center and Green went crazy against the Heat scoring a career-high 43 points with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, four blocks and five 3-pointers.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green blew up for a career-high 43 points Monday in a heartbreaking loss to the Heat.
Insight: Green got the start in Kevin Garnett's place and he didn't disappoint. In a team-high 40 minutes, Green shot 14-of-21 from the field including 9-of-12 in the first half. Green was especially dangerous from deep, converting on five of his seven long distance attempts. As long as Garnett is out, Green should continue to put up huge numbers.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett won't be available for Monday's game against the Heat. He's out with a strained thigh.
Insight: Comcast's A. Sherrod Blakely also mentioned that Garnett has the flu. This means Jeff Green is going to have to step up big time for the Celtics to have any chance of extinguishing Miami's win streak.
Description: Celtics PF/C Kevin Garnett (adductor injury) did not participate in the morning shootaround which is usually a bad sign. He'll be a game-time decision.
Insight: Generally the Celtics err on the side of caution when it comes to injuries, but they could make an exception because of the magnitude of Monday night's game - against the streaking Miami Heat. If Garnett is sidelined, expect Jeff Green to start at power forward with Brandon Bass moving to center.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers downplayed the severity of Kevin Garnett's adductor injury but he couldn't guarantee that Garnett would play Monday against the Heat. SOURCE: Scott Souza, MetroWest Daily News
Insight: Rivers said the injury was a "one" on a scale of one to ten. Still, Doc put Garnett's odds of playing Monday as only "50/50." Generally the Celtics err on the side of caution when it comes to injuries but they could make an exception because of the magnitude of Monday night's game. The Celtics obviously have an axe to grind with Miami after losing to them in the Eastern Conference Finals and would love to have their star center available if at all possible.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett will sit out Saturday's game against the Bobcats because of a srained left adductor.
Insight: AKA he's out with a thigh injury. This will be the second game Garnett (14.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg) has missed this season. His first absence came last month when head coach Doc Rivers chose to rest the veteran against an inferior Phoenix team. This time it looks like KG is dealing with a real injury and might miss a few games. After Saturday's contest against Charlotte, the Celtics have a date with the rival Miami Heat Monday night at TD Garden.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce reached a pair of milestones Wednesday in a 112-88 win over the Raptors.
Insight: Pierce (15 points) climbed past Charles Barkley for 20th on the all-time scoring list (23,763 career points) while simultaneously passing Allen Iverson for 10th in career free throws made (6,377). It should be a while before Pierce passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for eighth in free throws (he's tied with Dolph Schayes at 6,712) but he should pass Robert Parish for second in Celtics history in games played sometime in the near future (trails Parish by 18 games).
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green registered a team-high 20 points Wednesday in a blowout win against the Raptors.
Insight: Green nailed seven of his 14 shots, a noticeable improvement from Tuesday when he shot just 4-of-11 in a 26-point loss to Charlotte. Green, now fully recovered from heart surgery, is finally living up to fantasy owners' expectations. Don't be surprised if Green steals a few Sixth Man of the Year votes away from leading candidates Jamal Crawford and J.R. Smith.
Description: The Celtics will indeed rest Paul Pierce Tuesday against the Bobcats, according to announcer Sean Grande.
Insight: Jeff Green, who is averaging 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 31 minutes over his last 20 games, will start Tuesday in Pierce's place.
Description: Rumors are floating around that Celtics forward Paul Pierce could be given the day off Tuesday.
Insight: With all the injuries to the Celtics, Pierce has played a lot of minutes and done more than his normal share of the work. The team could probably beat the Bobcats without him and then he'd be rested for Wednesday's second half of a back-to-back.
Description: Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 18 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday in a come from behind win over the Pacers.
Insight: The Celtics scored the final 11 points of the game to capture the 83-81 victory. Garnett delivered the game-winning assist on a feed to Jeff Green with less than a second remaining. The veteran has now registered double-digit rebounds in three of his last four contests.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee is probable for Wednesday's game against Indiana while dealing with blurred vision after being poked in the eye on Tuesday.
Insight: Despite the addition of Jordan Crawford, Lee's playing time as remained constant at around 28 mpg, however he's only scored in double-digits one time in the last four games. If he's not scoring his fantasy value is low.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green had 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting with four rebounds and five assists Tuesday versus the 76ers.
Insight: Green had a great month of February with averages of 15.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocks in 12 games and he has started out March with 34 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three blocks in two games. Pick him up if he's still out there.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green was second on the team to Paul Pierce in points Friday against the Warriors with 18 on 8-of-13 shooting.
Insight: Green has been performing well for the last month as injuries have helped him get more playing time. He came into Friday's game averaging 14.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 31 minutes per game.
Description: Celtics center Kevin Garnett will play Sunday against the Blazers. He was given the night off Friday. SOURCE: Steve Bulpett, Boston Herald
Insight: KG is averaging 15 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocks in 30 minutes per game this season. The 36-year-old will probably get a couple more games off down the stretch.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green will make his first start of the season Friday against the Suns.
Insight: He's filling in for Kevin Garnett, who is a healthy scratch. Green (10.6 ppg in 24.9 mpg) should see a heavy dose of minutes the rest of the season as the Celtics have been decimated by injuries over the last month.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett is getting the night off Friday against Phoenix.
Insight: Doc Rivers hinted at this possibility earlier in the week so fantasy owners shouldn't be totally taken aback by this decision. Garnett is one of just two centers on the Celtics roster so we'd expect Doc to go with a smaller lineup tonight with Jeff Green (10.6 ppg) and Brandon Bass (7.6 ppg, 5.0 rpg) both getting lots of minutes.
Description: Jordan Crawford is set to make his Celtics debut Friday night versus the Suns.
Insight: Boston now has five shooting guards on its roster (Avery Bradley, Crawford, Courtney Lee, Jason Terry and Terrence Williams) and no point guards. We'll see if that strategy pays off later tonight when the C's take the court against Phoenix.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he would be "surprised" if forward/center Kevin Garnett played in all of Boston's next three games. SOURCE: ESPN Boston
Insight: Boston has three road games in the next four nights and Rivers wants to get Garnett some rest. Brandon Bass and Jeff Green would see the biggest fantasy boost in Garnett's absence.
Description: The Wizards have traded shooting guard Jordan Crawford to Boston in exchange for injured point guard Leandro Barbosa.
Insight: The Celtics have been looking for backcourt help ever since Rajon Rondo went down with a torn ACL and Crawford should be able to step in and contribute right away. With Bradley Beal (13.5 ppg) finally asserting himself as the Wizards' top shooting guard, Crawford (13.2 ppg) had no place in Washington anymore.
Description: Boston shooting guard Courtney Lee dropped 20 points on the Lakers Wednesday night in L.A.
Insight: That's Lee's highest scoring output since joining the Celtics last summer. He's averaging 10.0 ppg since Rajon Rondo went down with an ACL injury in late January.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce registered 26 points Wednesday against Los Angeles, but only three of those came after half time.
Insight: The Lakers built a 22-point lead in the second half, which allowed Doc Rivers to rest most of his starters during the fourth quarter. It looks like the All-Star break did Pierce some good. He had been averaging just 10.3 ppg on 8-of-38 shooting (21.1 percent) over his previous three games.
Description: Yahoo Sports reports that the Nets recently offered the Celtics Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first-round draft selection in exhange for team captain Paul Pierce.
Insight: Two bench players for a Boston sports icon/future Hall of Famer? Nice try, Brooklyn. It's unlikely the Celtics will trade Pierce (18.3 ppg) or any of their other stars before Thursday's 3 pm trade deadline.
Description: Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports that the Celtics are on the verge of signing former Nets and Rockets guard Terrence Williams.
Insight: Williams was cut by the Pistons in preseason and hasn't been able to secure a job since. Williams (7.6 ppg in 129 career games) gives Boston some depth but he won't be a factor on the fantasy side of things.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce, who admitted that he has been playing with a pinched nerve in his neck, is probable for Tuesday's game against Denver.
Insight: "The last couple of weeks, it's been better than it has been," said Pierce who admitted he's felt it for a couple of months. Pierce has been forced to carry the load for the Boston offense due to injuries at the guard position and it shows in his statistics. In seven February games he's averaging 17.1 ppg, 8.9 rpg and 7.3 apg.
Description: According to Yahoo's Marc Spears, Celtics center Kevin Garnett isn't willing to waive his no-trade clause.
Insight: That should put to rest any rumors of Garnett going to the Clippers (Los Angeles reportedly offered Boston point guard Eric Bledsoe and center DeAndre Jordan in a trade for Garnett). Garnett (15.1 ppg, 7.7 rpg) said this weekend's All-Star Game will be his last, leading some to believe that he will retire after the 2012-13 season.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce admitted that he has been playing with a pinched nerve in his neck. SOURCE: CSNNE.com
Insight: "It's something that's been bothering me probably like the last two months," Pierce said after the Celtics 71-69 win over the Chicago Bulls. "It's getting better, though. The last couple of weeks, it's been better than it has been." As teammates have gone down around him, Pierce has been asked to play a bigger role lately. The pinched nerve shouldn't cause him to miss any time.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce had a tough night offensively Wednesday against the Bulls.
Insight: So did everyone else as the two teams combined for just 140 points in 48 minutes. Pierce's eight points on 2-of-12 shooting was his lowest scoring output since January 9th when he tallied just seven points in a win over Phoenix.
Description: Power forward Brandon Bass led the Celtics in points (14), field goals (six) and minutes (40) Wednesday in a 71-69 win over Chicago.
Insight: That's the most points Bass has had in a game since November 28th against Brooklyn (16). Bass (7.6 ppg) recorded double-digit points seven times in the first month of the season but has only reached that threshold eight times since then.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo had ACL surgery on Tuesday in Florida. It was done by Dr. James Andrews, according to president of basketball operations Danny Ainge.
Insight: As expected, Rondo is done for the season. Paul Pierce has been the main distributor with Rondo out, producing 7.5 apg in his last six contests.
Description: Boston point guard Leandro Barbosa will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, CSNNE.com
Insight: That leaves the injury-depleted Celtics with just three healthy guards on the active roster (Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee and Jason Terry) who should all see plenty of PT.
Description: Boston point guard Leandro Barbosa suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury Monday against Charlotte and the team thinks it's a torn ACL, according to beat writer Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.
Insight: That leaves the injury-depleted Celtics with just three healthy guards on the active roster (Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee and Jason Terry) who should all see plenty of PT.
Description: Boston point guard Leandro Barbosa suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury Monday against Charlotte.
Insight: He's done for the night and we're guessing he's going to end up missing some games. That leaves the injury-depleted Celtics with just three healthy guards on the active roster (Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee and Jason Terry).
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green is averaging 14.4 ppg over his last eight games.
Insight: Green is in the midst of his most successful string of games this season. With Jared Sullinger out for the season, Green should continue to get solid minutes as a backup forward.
Description: Boston guard Jason Terry had his best game as a Celtic Sunday in a triple-OT win over Denver. Terry played nearly 43 minutes and had 26 points, three steals and five threes.
Insight: Terry is averaging 13.1 points and 2.9 assists over the last eight games, a nice turnaround after he posted just 5.6 ppg in 12 games from Jan. 2 to Jan. 24.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett had a 20-18 double-double with six assists, two steals and three blocks in a whopping 47 minutes Sunday against the Nuggets.
Insight: Boston and Denver battled for three overtimes and Garnett played 17 minutes more than his season average. Like Paul Pierce, Garnett has stepped up his production since Rajon Rondo went down -- he's averaging 17.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks in the last seven games. You have to wonder how all these minutes will affect the 36-year-old Garnett going forward. Luckily the All-Star break is coming up to give Boston's veterans time to rest.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce had a triple-double -- 27 points, 14 rebounds, 14 assists -- in a triple-overtime thriller Sunday against the Nuggets. Pierce made five threes and played 54 minutes in the game.
Insight: Pierce has been asked to take on more responsibilities with Rajon Rondo out for the season. In seven games since Rondo tore his ACL, Pierce is averaging 18.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game and the Celtics are 7-0. The 54 minutes have to be a concern for owners of the 35-year-old Pierce, especially with another game looming Monday night at Charlotte.
Description: Comcast New England reports that Celtics guard Rajon Rondo's ACL injury is only a partial tear. He should be recovered in six months, meaning that he could be ready for the start of the 2013-14 regular season.
Insight: That's certainly good news for the Celtics, though it has no bearing on this season's fantasy implications. Rondo was the only true point guard on Boston's roster so the Celtics have been forced to go with a point guard by committee in his absence. Paul Pierce has been the main distributor with Rondo out, producing 6.2 apg in his last six contests.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett led the way with 27 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday against the Raptors.
Insight: That's a new season-high in points for the 18-year veteran. Garnett needs just six points Thursday against the Lakers to reach 25,000 for his career. He'll be the 16th player in NBA history to reach that mark.
Description: There have been conflicting reports about whether or not the Celtics have had discussions with the Clippers about trading power forward/center Kevin Garnett.
Insight: The Sporting News reported that the Clippers were looking to make a deal while ESPN's Chris Broussard insists that the two sides haven't discussed a trade. Ramona Shelburne from ESPN Los Angeles says that Garnett will only waive his no-trade clause if Paul Pierce is also traded, which would make a Garnett to L.A. deal seem very unlikely.
Description: Paul Pierce's three with 2.5 seconds to go was the nail in the coffin as the Celtics beat the Clippers 106-104 at TD Garden on Sunday.
Insight: Sunday was Pierce's first 20-point game in over a week. Pierce (22 points) has mostly been used as a point forward with Rajon Rondo out of the lineup but today he returned to his more familiar role as the team's go-to scorer. The four three-pointers Pierce sank Sunday were his most since January 2nd against the Grizzlies.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green is averaging 14.3 points over his last four games. He had 17 with four rebounds, four assists, one steal and three blocks Friday night.
Insight: Green hasn't been able to string together many useful fantasy performances this season so it's hard to trust him going forward.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce had 14 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes Friday.
Insight: With Rajon Rondo out with a torn ACL, the Celtics need someone to play the role of creator. Pierce has handed out 21 assists in the three games Boston has played since Rondo suffered the injury. He has also grabbed double-digit boards in three straight.
Description: Celtics guard Courtney Lee had 14 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and two threes in 39 minutes Friday against the Magic.
Insight: Lee didn't do much in Boston's first two games without Rajon Rondo. We need to see more consistency before we recommend using him in fantasy leagues.
Description: Celtics power forward Jared Sullinger (back) will need season-ending back surgery, according to Adrian Wojnarowski
Insight: Sullinger dealt with back issues throughout college too. Brandon Bass will likely receive the biggest boost in minutes unless the team makes a move for another player.
Description: Celtics forward Jared Sullinger (back) is questionable for Friday's game against Orlando after receiving treatment on his back Thursday afternoon. he missed the Friday morning shootaround.
Insight: Sullinger dealt with back issues throughout college. Brandon Bass would receive the biggest boost in minutes if Sullinger has to miss Friday's game.
Description: Celtics forward Jared Sullinger (back) received treatment on his back Thursday afternoon. SOURCE: Mark Murphy, Boston Herald
Insight: Sullinger dealt with back issues throughout college and they caused him to drop in the 2012 NBA Draft. Sullinger remains day-to-day and will miss his first practice of the season Thursday. Brandon Bass would receive the biggest boost in minutes if Sullinger has to miss Friday's game.
Description: Celtics forward Jared Sullinger will miss the rest of Wednesday night's game against Sacramento because of back spasms.
Insight: Sullinger fell to the end of the first round at last year's draft because of back issues and apparently they haven't gone away. Brandon Bass should see most of the minutes at power forward now that Sullinger is out.
Description: Boston power forward Jared Sullinger has gone to the locker room because of back spasms.
Insight: Comcast New England's Greg Dickerson said that Sullinger should be able to return. The Celtics are using Brandon Bass (7.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg) in the power forward slot in the meantime.
Description: A Boston Globe reports suggests that Leandro Barbosa will see an uptick in minutes now that starting point guard Rajon Rondo is out for the year with a torn ACL.
Insight: Barbosa saw 30 minutes of playing time Sunday against the Heat, his most since November 15th at Brooklyn. Barbosa is only averaging 2.4 apg for his career so we wouldn't expect him to contribute much in that category but he's been an effective scorer when given the chance (12.1 ppg in 622 career games).
Description: Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 24 points Sunday in a 100-98 win against Miami.
Insight: Garnett has scored at least 20 points in each of his last two games, something he hadn't been able to do all season before today. Both games went into double-overtime, which was certainly a factor in Garnett's ability to fill up the stat sheet.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce broke out of a slump by posting his first triple-double of the season Sunday in a win over the Heat.
Insight: He finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. The Celtics are going to need their captain to step up big time over the next few months now that Rajon Rondo is out with an ACL tear. Pierce could get some minutes at shooting guard while Rondo is out with Jeff Green occupying Pierce's usual position at small forward.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo's knee injury is much worse that a hyperextension. His MRI Sunday revealed a torn ACL, and he is out for the rest of the season. SOURCE: Mark Murphy, Boston Herald
Insight: The date for Rondo's surgery will be determined. This is a massive blow to Boston's playoff chances. The team really doesn't have a formidable backup point guard. Avery Bradley and Courtney Lee split those duties Sunday but we could see Jason Terry and even Leandro Barbosa get PG minutes the rest of the season.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo committed six turnovers Friday against Atlanta but he also had 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
Insight: Friday was Rondo's league-leading fifth triple-double of the season and his second in as many nights. He's averaging 18.8 ppg, 8.8 rpg and 10.4 apg in his last five games.
Description: Celtics center Kevin Garnett scored 16 points with five rebounds, three assists, one steal and five blocks Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
Insight: Garnett's scoring and rebounding averages are down this season as he plays less than 30 minutes per game, but he's still a must-start fantasy big man.
Description: Boston power forward Chris Wilcox is questionable for Tuesday's game against Cleveland after spending a month sidelined by a sprained right thumb.
Insight: Wilcox hasn't played since Dec. 18 and has only cracked double-digit points once this season. His fantasy value is near zero as the team has gotten good mileage out of rookie PF Jared Sullinger who is averaging 7.9 ppg and 8.5 rpg this month.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley (ribs) is doubtful to play Sunday, coach Doc Rivers said. SOURCE: Gary Washburn, Boston Globe
Insight: Washburn noted that Bradley was working out on the court when Rivers said that, so there's still a chance he will go Sunday but we wouldn't count on it. If you still own Jason Terry, get him in the lineup.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley (ribs) will sit Friday against the Bulls. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, CSNNE.com
Insight: Bradley is averaging 8.1 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 23.5 minutes over eight games since making his season debut. Jason Terry and Courtney Lee will see more playing time Friday.
Description: Celtics center Kevin Garnett was voted in as a starter for next month's All-Star Game in Houston.
Insight: Obviously the story here is that Garnett, who is making his 15th All-Star appearance, will be starting alongside his archnemesis Carmelo Anthony. The two nearly came to blows outside Madison Square Garden last week after Anthony took exception to some of Garnett's trash-talking. Buckle up, folks. Things are about to get interesting.
Description: Celtics guard Leandro Barbosa has denied reports that he wants to be traded according to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.
Insight: Barbosa (4.9 ppg) has seen a sharp decline in minutes since Avery Bradley returned to the lineup at the start of the month. He won't be a factor in fantasy as long as he's in Boston.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley is questionable for Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls after sustaining a rib injury on Wednesday. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, CSNNE.com
Insight: Bradley is averaging 8.1 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 23.5 minutes over eight games since making his season debut. He should only get better as the season goes on, but probably will only make for a deep-league guard option.
Description: Celtics guard Jason Terry was held scoreless in 15 minutes of play on Monday against Charlotte.
Insight: Terry is averaging just 5.1 points in 23 minutes over seven games since Avery Bradley returned to action. Courtney Lee has played even less in that time. Both players can be cut loose in all fantasy leagues.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley had a season-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting with two blocks, one rebounds and one assist in 27:35 Monday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Bradley made four threes, as many as he had made in the six games he had played since returning from shoulder surgery rehab.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo had his third triple-double of the season and second of January Monday against the Bobcats. Rondo shot 8-of-11 and made 1-1 from the foul line for 17 points with 10 rebounds, 12 assists and just two turnovers.
Insight: Rondo's lack of threes, poor free-throw percentage (.644) and high turnover totals (3.6) are what prevent him from being an elite fantasy point guard but he's still a must-start player.
Description: Boston center Kevin Garnett had a season-high four blocks Friday in a win over Houston.
Insight: Garnett now has six blocks in his last two games. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, he's only averaging 14.8 ppg this season, his lowest mark since 2009-10. Garnett hasn't had a 20-point game since November 25th when he had 24 against the Magic.
Description: Celtics forward Jared Sullinger collected a career-high 16 rebounds Wednesday against Phoenix.
Insight: On a night when Boston's starters struggled (40 points on 18-of-49 shooting), Sullinger and Jeff Green stepped up with a combined 26 points and 19 boards off the bench. Sullinger played a team-high 34 minutes in the win. It looks like the 20-year-old has a bright future ahead of him in Beantown.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo should return from his one-game suspension for Wednesday's game against Phoenix.
Insight: Rondo is still an assist machine, averaging 11.3 per game for the season, though just 8.4 over his last nine games. The punishment was for an incident Rondo had with an official Saturday night in Atlanta. It's the second time Rondo's been suspended this season.
Description: Boston forward Paul Pierce continued his tradition of annihilating the Knicks Monday night in New York. The veteran finished with 23 points including a three-pointer to put the game out of reach with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter.
Insight: Pierce did his usual showboating, parading around the court after his big three and blowing kisses to the crowd at Madison Square Garden. Pierce is now averaging 23.6 ppg in 51 career games against the Knicks. Even at age 35, Pierce remains a must-start in all fantasy formats.
Description: Celtics guard Jason Terry will start Monday night's game against the Knicks. Terry is filling in for Rajon Rondo, who is serving a one-game suspension for bumping a referee.
Insight: Terry and Courtney Lee will probably split minutes at point guard. Terry has averaged just six ppg since going off for 20 points eight days ago in Sacramento.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo has been suspended for Monday's game against the Knicks.
Insight: The punishment stems from an incident Rondo had with an official Saturday night in Atlanta. It's already the second time Rondo's been suspended this season and the fourth time he's been banned in the last two years. Jason Terry (11 ppg) is expected to start in Rondo's place.
Description: Boston waived rookie forward Kris Joseph on Sunday.
Insight: Joseph has only played six times this season, averaging four minutes per game. The Syracuse product didn't have an opportunity to really contribute playing behind Paul Pierce and Jeff Green at small forward. Joseph could see more minutes playing somewhere else but we're not optimistic about his chances of becoming a fantasy contributor.
Description: Celtics small forward Paul Pierce piled up 26 points Saturday night in a win over the Hawks.
Insight: Seventeen of those 26 points came in the third quarter (Pierce actually outscored Atlanta 17-9 in the period). Pierce (19.8 ppg) is seeking to become the oldest player to average 20 points or more in a season since Michael Jordan averaged 20 ppg at age 40 back in 2002-03. That was Jordan's final season in the NBA.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo recorded his second triple-double of the season Saturday in a win against Atlanta (14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists).
Insight: Rondo has had more triple-doubles than anyone in basketball over the last two seasons. Saturday was his eighth since the start of 2011-12.
Description: Boston shooting guard Jason Terry only played 15 minutes and shot 2-of-8 from the field on Friday against the Pacers.
Insight: Terry and Courtney Lee are both marooned on the bench now that Avery Bradley has returned to the starting lineup. Terry has only attempted 13 total shots in the two games Bradley has played. With 11.2 ppg, 2.0 reb, 2.1 ast, 1.8 3pm, 1.0 stl and a .873 free-throw percentage, Terry still has fantasy value but it's fading fast.
Description: Celtics big man Kevin Garnett was ejected in the fourth quarter on Friday against Indiana for a flagrant-2 foul on Tyler Hansbrough
Insight: Garnett scored 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting with seven rebounds prior to exiting. The veteran will likely see a hefty fine on par with the fines Charlie Villanueva ($25,000) and Dwight Howard ($35,000) were given recently for their flagrant-2 fouls.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo (hip) started alongside Avery Bradley on Wednesday and produced 11 points and 10 assists.
Insight: It was Rondo's first double-double since Dec. 14 against Houston. He played almost 40 minutes which should indicate that the hip injury is getting much better.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley (shoulder) started but only played 19 minutes and 31 seconds in his season debut on Wednesday against Memphis. Bradley finished with four points and one steal.
Insight: Bradley hadn't played this season after having offseason surgery to repair a dislocated shoulder. The third-year guard averaged 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 28 starts last season but also didn't have to share shooting guard minutes with Jason Terry and Courtney Lee, both of whom were acquired in the offseason.
Description: Celtics rookie Fab Melo admitted he was called up from the D-League to receive treatment for a concussion.
Insight: Melo said he suffered the concussion when he walked into a door in his hotel room. This comes after he accidentally broke a folding chair he was sitting on during a rookie photo shoot. Hopefully the former Syracuse center will resolve to be less clumsy in 2013.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo (hip) will start alongside Avery Bradley on Wednesday. SOURCE: Sean Grande, Celtics play-by-play broadcaster
Insight: Rondo played 36 minutes on Sunday, scoring just two points on 1-of-6 shooting but missed Tuesday's practice, leading us to believe that the sore hip/thigh was still bothering him. Bradley will be making his season debut following a lengthy rehab from a dislocated left shoulder.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo (hip) is questionable for Wednesday's game after struggling in Sunday's game and missing Tuesday's practice.
Insight: Rondo played 36 minutes on Sunday, scoring just two points on 1-of-6 shooting. Missing practice means the bruised hip/thigh is still bothering him. The good news for Celtics' fans is that Leandro Barbosa returned Sunday from a personal absence and Avery Bradley is expected to make his season debut. Still, that doesn't help Rondo's fantasy owners who will still have to start a less than completely healthy point guard.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley (shoulder) said he expects to return for Wednesday's game against Memphis. He should return as Boston's starting shooting guard.
Insight: Bradley averaged 12.3 points on 50.4 percent shooting with 2.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.5 minutes per game in 28 starts last season. His return will push Courtney Lee further away from fantasy relevance, as we expect Jason Terry to receive most of the minutes as Bradley's backup.
Description: Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley (shoulder) will start upon his return to the lineup. "We had him markered down, not penciled, before the year that he was going to be the starter," Boston coach Doc Rivers said. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, CSNNE.com
Insight: Bradley will likely return Wednesday against the Grizzlies barring a last-minute change of plans. He averaged 12.3 points on 50.4 percent shooting with 2.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.5 minutes per game in 28 starts last season. His return will push Courtney Lee further away from fantasy relevance, as we expect Jason Terry to receive most of the minutes as Bradley's backup.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo (hip) is questionable for Wednesday's game after missing Tuesday's practice. SOURCE: Chris Forsberg, ESPNBoston.com
Insight: Rondo returned to the lineup on Sunday after missing Saturday's game but struggled in 36 minutes, scoring two points on 1-of-6 shooting. Tuesday's absence means the bruised hip/thigh is still bothering him.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo returned to the lineup Sunday against Sacramento but had one of his worst games of the season. He finished with just two points and 10 assists in 36 minutes.
Insight: After starting the season 12-9, the Celtics have now lost seven of their last nine games including all three on their West Coast swing. Perhaps Avery Bradley's return to the lineup Wednesday against Memphis will be the spark Boston needs to get back on track.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo isn't sure if he'll be able to play Sunday after missing Saturday's game with a bruised hip and thigh. "I honestly don't know," Rondo said. "I'm trying to." SOURCE: Steve Bulpett, Boston Herald
Insight: Rondo leads the NBA in assists but also is turning the ball over 3.7 times per game. Courtney Lee started in place of Rondo Saturday and scored 18 points but failed to record an assist. In fact, the Celtics' assist leader on Saturday was Kevin Garnett with four. Boston plays at Sacramento at 9 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo won't play Saturday against the Warriors. He's dealing with a bruised hip.
Insight: Rondo must have suffered the injury during Thursday night's blowout loss against the Clippers. Earlier this season Rondo had a streak of 37 games in a row with 10 or more assists. In his last six games, he's only reached double-digit assists once. Courtney Lee (6.5 ppg) is likely to get the start in Rondo's place.
Description: Boston guard Leandro Barbosa (personal) will rejoin the team Saturday but not in time to play against the Warriors at 10:30 p.m. ET. SOURCE: A. Sherrod Blakely, CSN New England
Insight: Barbosa is only playing 12 mpg this season and only serves as backcourt depth for the Celtics behind Rajon Rondo, Jason Terry and Courtney Lee. He has no fantasy value.
Description: Boston guard Leandro Barbosa is not expected to return from home until Saturday.
Insight: Barbosa is tending to a family matter. Even when he returns, Barbosa has little fantasy value. He's averaging just 12 minutes of playing time behind All-Star guard Rajon Rondo and putting up five points per game.
Description: Boston rookie PF Jared Sullinger was huge off the bench for the Celtics on Christmas Day, scoring 16 points with seven rebounds.
Insight: Sullinger has been praised by coach Doc Rivers, but he's also been limited by the coach's rotation that has kept him under 18 minutes of playing time per game. This was his first double-digit game in a month.
Description: Celtics forward/center Kevin Garnett didn't force much offense, taking just eight shots as Boston dominated the Nets from the start of the second quarter to the final buzzer. Garnett finished with eight points, 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals, and two blocks.
Insight: Garnett had an excellent season a year ago, scoring 15.8 points with 8.2 rebounds and is putting up similar numbers so far this year. The eight point game breaks a string of 25 consecutive games scoring in the double figures.
Description: After averaging 13 assists per game through November, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has averaged just 11.1 in nine December games and 9.0 in his last four contests.
Insight: The Celtics have lost three of their last four games and Rondo has been inconsistent scoring 20 or more in two games and six points in the other two. He's still a must start because he has the potential to explode at any point, but we are a little concerned with his drop in production.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers had hinted that there was a chance that guard Avery Bradley would make his return on Christmas Day, but that won't happen.
Insight: Bradley has participated in a couple of practices in his recovery from shoulder surgery, but is targeting an early January return.
Description: Boston guard Leandro Barbosa is out for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn, but is expected to return for Thursday's game with the streaking Los Angeles Clippers.
Insight: Barbosa is tending to a family matter. Even when he returns, Barbosa has little fantasy value. He's averaging just 12 minutes of playing time behind All-Star guard Rajon Rondo and putting up five points per game.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green is probable for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn after he suffered a bruised cheek Friday against the Bucks. He also chipped a couple of teeth as he took an elbow to the face from Ersan Ilyasova while fighting for a rebound.
Insight: Green is averaging 9.4 ppg and 3.0 rpg, not really a fantasy-worthy level and not what he used to produce when he was with the Thunder.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers told the Boston Globe there was a chance that guard Avery Bradley would make his return on Christmas Day, though the guard said he was targeting Jan. 2.
Insight: Bradley has participated in a couple of practices in his recovery from shoulder surgery. He has missed the entire season to date.
Description: Earlier in the week it was reported that Boston guard Avery Bradley would make his return January 2nd against Memphis but now it appears he could return even sooner.
Insight: Scott Souza of the MetroWest Daily News is reporting that Avery could be available during the team's four game road-trip which runs from Christmas through December 30th. Bradley has missed the whole season so far while recovering from multiple shoulder surgeries.
Description: Boston guard Leandro Barbosa is out for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: Barbosa is tending to a family matter. He's expected to rejoin the team Thursday when the Celtics travel to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers.
Description: Comcast New England reports Celtics forward Jeff Green suffered a bruised cheek Friday against the Bucks. He also chipped a couple of teeth.
Insight: The injury occurred with less than 20 seconds remaining in overtime when Green got elbowed in the face battling with Ersan Ilyasova for a rebound. Green is probably in a bit of pain right now but he should be fine for Tuesday's Christmas Day matchup with the Nets.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green left Friday's game after getting elbowed in the face by Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova.
Insight: Green was on the ground holding his face for several minutes and needed to be helped to the locker room. He could be dealing with a broken nose. Luckily he'll have a few days to heal up before Boston's next game Christmas Day against Brooklyn.
Description: Boston shooting guard Jason Terry had another miserable shooting night Friday against Milwaukee. He made just one of 15 field goals for four points.
Insight: Terry wasn't the only Celtic who struggled on Friday. Kevin Garnett was just as useless on the offensive end, converting on just six of his 22 attempts. With two of their starters shooting 7-for-37, it's a miracle Boston even made it to overtime.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce had another big night Friday against Milwaukee. He finished with 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting including a game-tying three-pointer at the end of regulation.
Insight: Pierce also chipped in with a dozen boards. He's averaging 21 ppg this season, his highest total since 2006-07 when he averaged 25 ppg.
Description: Boston guard Leandro Barbosa won't be in action Friday against the Bucks.
Insight: He's dealing with a family matter. Barbosa (5 ppg) is only averaging 12.5 minutes per game this season, so even when he's active he doesn't offer much in terms of fantasy production.
Description: Celtics C/PF Chris Wilcox was active for Wednesday's game against Cleveland after taking an elbow to the nose in the previous game, but did not get into the game - coach's decision. He's probable for Friday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Wilcox (4.7 ppg) is just a role player at this stage in his career. You don't need to worry about him in fantasy.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo hasn't doled out double-digit assists in three straight games but he has scored 20-plus points in his last two.
Insight: It has been a mixed bag since Rondo returned from a two-game suspension eight games ago. In 39 mpg, Rondo is averaging 15.4 ppg, 11.1 apg, 5.9 rpg and 2.0 spg but shooting just 65.6 percent from the foul line and turning the ball over 5.0 times per game in that stretch.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce exploded for a season-high 40 points Wednesday in a victory over the Cavaliers.
Insight: Simply put, Pierce was on fire. The Celtics' captain knocked in 13 of his 16 field goal attempts including a lethal 6-of-7 from three-point range. He even made all eight of his free throws. Not bad for a 35-year-old. Pierce's 20.4 ppg this season is his highest since 2008-09 (20.5 ppg).
Description: Celtics C/PF Chris Wilcox is probable for Wednesday's game against Cleveland after taking an elbow to the nose in Tuesday's game.
Insight: Wilcox (4.7 ppg) is just a role player at this stage in his career. You don't need to worry about him in fantasy, but is he doesn't play starter Kevin Garnett could see addition minutes.
Description: Celtics guard Jason Terry only had two points on two shots Tuesday against the Bulls.
Insight: Terry played 26 minutes but didn't get many shots off. He scored 18 points his last time out but inconsistent production is to be expected now that he's coming off the bench again.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley has been cleared to return to practice Monday and is hoping to play on Jan. 2 against Memphis.
Insight: Bradley has been working his way back from offseason shoulder surgery. He averaged 15.1 ppg in 15 games last April. Jason Terry will likely move to the bench when Bradley is back at full strength.
Description: Celtics small forward Paul Pierce paced Boston with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting (2-5 3PT) Saturday in a loss to the Spurs.
Insight: Pierce is only shooting 41.4 percent this season, which would be his lowest field goal percentage since 2003-04. Fortunately he's attempting more shots per game than he has since 2006-07 and more free throws since 2008-09 so his scoring average is holding steady at 19.7 ppg.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo struggled to just six points and nine assists Saturday in San Antonio.
Insight: This was Rondo's second-lowest assist total of the season and the second game in a row he's committed seven turnovers. He's given the ball away 33 times in his last six games (5.5 turnovers per game) and is now third in the league in mistakes with a season average of 3.9 turnovers per contest. Simply put, Rondo needs to start taking better care of the basketball.
Description: Boston guard Courtney Lee is starting for the second night in a row Saturday against San Antonio.
Insight: Jason Terry (11.4 ppg) has returned to his familiar sixth-man role. Both guards will be coming off the bench when Avery Bradley comes back from an injured shoulder later this month.
Description: Boston shooting guard Jason Terry tied a season-high with four makes from behind the arc Friday against the Rockets. They were Terry's only field goals in a 12-point night. He added three steals.
Insight: Terry's production is way down. While he was the No. 2 scoring option on Dallas, he's just the fourth or fifth option on the Celtics. Plus, he has to share playing time in one of the more crowded shooting guard rotations in the NBA, a situation that will only get murkier when Avery Bradley returns.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has started a new streak of double-digit assist games after an ejection on Nov. 28 ended his former streak at 37 games.
Insight: Rondo has dished out 12.8 assists while averaging 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in five games since returning from a two-game suspension.
Description: Celtics small forward Paul Pierce poured in a season-high 34 points Wednesday in a dramatic double-overtime win over the Mavericks.
Insight: The veteran was able to knock down several clutch free throws down the stretch and finished the night 9-of-11 from the line. Wednesday's 34-point effort was Pierce's highest scoring output since Game 2 of last year's Eastern Conference quarterfinals against Atlanta when the forward went off for 36 points in 44 minutes.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo came within one rebound of his second triple double of the season Wednesday against Dallas.
Insight: The 53 minutes Rondo (16 points, 15 assists, nine rebounds) logged were the most he's played since April 30, 2009 when he played 58 minutes in a triple overtime loss to Chicago. His double-digit assist streak is now at four and could have been at 42 if not for his second quarter ejection against the Nets late last month.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley is hoping to return to practice next week according to WEEI's Mike Petraglia.
Insight: Bradley has been working his way back from offseason shoulder surgery and it appears he's close to a return. Jason Terry (11.5 ppg) will likely move to the bench when Bradley is back at full strength.
Description: Boston shooting guard Jason Terry had a miserable game Friday night against the Sixers. In 44 minutes, the veteran recorded just four points on 1-of-12 shooting.
Insight: Terry is shooting a respectable 46.7 percent from the floor this season but Friday he just didn't have it. It will be interesting to see if Doc Rivers begins to give backup Courtney Lee more minutes at the two in the wake of this ugly outing from Terry.
Description: Boston forward Paul Pierce netted 27 points Friday in a one-point loss to Philadelphia.
Insight: It wasn't a vintage Pierce performance: he struggled from three-point range (1-for-8) and only made 8-of-12 free throws. He also committed four turnovers. Still, fantasy owners have to be encouraged by his heavy workload (24 shots in 45 minutes). At age 35, we figured Doc Rivers would begin cutting his minutes but so far, that hasn't been the case (33.8 mpg in 19 games). As long as Pierce continues to play big minutes, he should remain a productive fantasy small forward.
Description: Boston guard Rajon Rondo recorded his first triple-double of the season Friday in an overtime loss to Philadelphia.
Insight: He finished the game with 16 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds in 42 minutes of action. Rondo, who hadn't blocked a shot all season before tonight, also produced three rejections.
Description: Boston rookie PF Jared Sullinger is probable for Friday's game against Philadelphia with flu-like symptoms.
Insight: Sullinger has been praised by coach Doc Rivers, but he's also been limited by the coach's rotation that has kept him under 20 minutes of playing time in five of the last six games. He's averaging 5.6 ppg, 4.7 rpg which will only improve if he gets more PT.
Description: WEEI in Boston reports Celtics shooting guard Avery Bradley is still 1-to-2 weeks away from returning to full practices. Bradley is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
Insight: Bradley's recovery has been a slow one. When he is finally able to return we envision him splitting time at the two with Jason Terry and Courtney Lee. He's a defense specialist and his fantasy value, especially in a crowded Celtics backcourt, remains minimal.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has served the two-game suspension for his role in a fight with Nets forward Kris Humphries and should be back in the starting lineup for Wednesday against Minnesota.
Insight: Rondo should be installed back into all fantasy lineups. He's off to a great start averaging 12.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 12.9 apg, 1.9 spg and even shooting 61 percent from the foul line.
Description: Celtics guard Leandro Barbosa is questionable for Wednesday's game against Minnesota due to illness.
Insight: Barbosa missed both Monday and Tuesday's practice. The Celtics still have plenty of talent at guard and Rajon Rondo (back from suspension), Jason terry and Courtney Lee can easily pick up the slack.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley didn't travel with the team for Saturday night's game in Milwaukee according to A.Sherrod Blakely from Comcast New England.
Insight: He's staying in Boston to get some extra work in as he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. Bradley could be ready for game action again by the end of the month. For now Jason Terry will continue to start at shooting guard for the 9-7 Celtics.
Description: Celtics guard Courtney Lee will move back to the starting lineup Friday in place of the suspended Rajon Rondo, according to Celtics play-by-play announcer Sean Grande.
Insight: Lee started the first five games for Boston before being replaced by Jason Terry. He's unlikely to have much fantasy value, even as a spot starter, though Leandro Barbosa could offer decent production off the bench in the two games Rondo has to miss.
Description: Celtics forward Chris Wilcox is questionable for Friday's game against Portland due to flu-like symptoms. He missed the morning shootaround and will be a game-time decision.
Insight: Wilcox (4.7 ppg) is just a role player at this stage in his career. You don't need to worry about him in fantasy.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green is questionable for Friday's game against Portland with a sprained right knee.
Insight: Green wasn't at the morning shootaround and will be a game-time decision. He hasn't been playing at a fantasy-worthy level this season averaging 7.7 ppg and 2.5 rpg.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green played Friday despite a sprained right knee and scored 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting in just 23 minutes off the bench.
Insight: It was a season high for Green, who has all-too-often disappeared from games this season. He can be left on the free agent list; Boston was using a different rotation with Rajon Rondo serving the first game of a two-game suspension.
Description: ESPN Boston is reporting that Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has received a two-game suspension for his role in a fight with Nets forward Kris Humphries on Wednesday night.
Insight: Some experts were predicting a 5-to-10 game ban for Rondo so it looks like he got off pretty easy. Leandro Barbosa will start at point guard for the Celtics Friday night against Portland and Saturday in Milwaukee. Rondo will be eligible to return Wednesday against the Timberwolves.
Description: Boston forward Jeff Green was taken to the locker room after spraining his right knee Wednesday against Brooklyn. His return is questionable.
Insight: He has returned to the bench so it doesn't look like the injury is too severe. Green had two points in nine minutes before he was taken out.
Description: Rajon Rondo's streak of double-digit assists games is over. The Boston point guard ended the streak by getting tossed in the second quarter of Wednesday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: Rondo instigated a shoving match with Kris Humphries after Humphries fouled Kevin Garnett and things escalated pretty quickly after that. It looks like Rondo will be facing his third suspension in the last two seasons. He finished the night with just six points and three dimes.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo kept his streak of double-digit assist games alive Sunday against Orlando dishing out 16 assists. He also added 15 points, nine rebounds and two steals. He's a box score filler with only one weakness - foul shooting.
Insight: That's 37 straight for Rondo tying John Stockton for second-most consecutive games with at least 10 assists. Magic Johnson's record (46) could be in danger.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce matched a season-high with 27 points Friday in a win over the Thunder.
Insight: He was seven-of-seven from the free throw line and four-of-six from downtown. The ten-time All-Star is averaging 19.8 ppg this season, his highest average since 2009-10 (20.5 ppg).
Description: Head coach Doc Rivers has acknowledged that center Darko Milicic is unlikely to return to the Celtics this season.
Insight: Milicic is expected to return home to Serbia to be with his ill mother. He has only played five minutes all year so Milicic's absence probably won't affect many fantasy teams.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo barely kept his streak of double-digit assist games alive Sunday against Detroit. He finished the night with exactly 10 assists.
Insight: That's 34 straight for Rondo, who trails John Stockton by three games for the second-longest streak in NBA history. Other than the 10 dimes, Rondo didn't look all that sharp (six turnovers). Fantasy owners can at least take some solace in the fact that Rondo made two out of his three three-point attempts, which is rare for him.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce left Sunday's game with a sore left ankle. He did not return, though there were only a few minutes left and Boston was losing big to Detroit.
Insight: "I turned it on one of the last plays of the game. But I think it'll be all right, a couple days rest," Pierce told CSNNE.com. Boston doesn't play until Wednesday so we should get a better idea in a couple of days.
Description: Celtics guard Jason Terry had a season-high 20 points Saturday against Toronto.
Insight: Terry has found opportunities hard to come by this season, even after he moved to the starting lineup. Saturday's 7-of-10 shooting performance was just the third time in 10 games Terry has attempted at least 10 shots.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo (ankle) returned to Boston's starting lineup Saturday afternoon after missing Thursday's game and dished out 20 assists with six points on 3-of-4 shooting in 32 minutes versus Toronto.
Insight: With Boston holding a huge lead, Rondo was able to exit early in the fourth quarter. It was his 33rd straight game with at least 10 dimes.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo (ankle) will not play Thursday. Leandro Barbosa got the start next to Jason Terry in the Boston backcourt.
Insight: Rondo sprained his right ankle Wednesday. The injury isn't serious but Boston is in the midst of a stretch of four games in six days and can't afford to lose Rondo for an extended period of time.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo is questionable for Thursday night's game against Brooklyn. Rondo suffered a sprained right ankle in the second half of Wednesday win's over the Jazz and did not return.
Insight: Leandro Barbosa would likely be slotted into the starting five if Rondo is unable to suit up. It might be wise for Boston to give Rondo the night off considering that the Celtics are in the midst of a brutal stretch with five games in seven days.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo sprained his ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday's game against Utah and is unlikely to return.
Insight: He's on the bench in warm-ups right now. Miraculously, Rondo was able to keep his streak of consecutive double-digit assist games in tact with exactly 10 assists in 25 minutes of action.
Description: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo kept his streak of consecutive double-digit assist games alive with a pass to Brandon Bass for an open dunk late in Boston's 101-95 win over the Bulls on Monday night.
Insight: That runs the point guard's streak to 31 games in a row of 10 or more assists. Rondo also led the team with 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Boston's next game is at home against Utah on Wednesday.
Description: The Celtics will start Jason Terry at shooting guard Saturday against the Bucks in place of Courtney Lee.
Insight: Terry is averaging six minutes and four points less than he did last season as Dallas' sixth man so this should boost his value. However, there's no way to know if it will be a permanent switch. Lee (6.0 ppg) can be dropped.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo exploded for 20 assists Friday night in a loss to Philadelphia.
Insight: Rondo led the league in assists last year and it looks like he'll have a good chance to repeat that feat in 2012-13. He has now recorded double-digit assists in each of his last 29 games.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo handed out a season-high 14 dimes Wednesday in an overtime victory over Washington.
Insight: The double-digit assist totals aren't surprising but Rondo has also been able to step up his scoring average in 2012-13. After his 18-point effort Wednesday, the seventh-year guard is now averaging 16 ppg for the season. That's more than five ppg higher than his career average.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley, who had offseason shoulder surgery, is "six weeks or more away," coach Doc Rivers told the BostonHerald.com.
Insight: With the Celtics suffering multiple injuries, Bradley sparkled last April, averaging 15.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg and 1.5 apg. Now that Ray Allen (14.2 ppg) has jumped ship to Miami, Bradley is expected to have a big impact once he gets back on the court. It appears, however, that his season won't start until late December or January at the earliest.
Description: In his first career NBA start, Boston rookie Jared Sullinger scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Celtics defeated the Wizards 89-86.
Insight: Sullinger got the start at power forward over veteran Brandon Bass. Head coach Doc Rivers has suggested that he'll swap Bass and Sullinger in and out of the lineup depending on the opponent so fantasy owners would be foolish to assume Sullinger will continue to see this much playing time night in and night out.
Description: Boston small forward Paul Pierce went off for 27 points Saturday in a win against the Wizards.
Insight: Pierce corralled seven rebounds while turning the ball over just twice. He also hit 4-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc. In three games this season the veteran is averaging 19.3 ppg.
Description: As usual, Boston point guard Rajon Rondo posted double-digit assists on Saturday night.
Insight: Rondo has now dished out 10-plus assists in each of his last 27 regular season games. He also contributed 12 points, five rebounds and a pair of steals as the Celtics held off the Wizards 89-86.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green has averaged 25 minutes per game in the first two contests this season.
Insight: Green scored 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting Friday after scoring just three points in the first game of the season. With all the SG/SF talent in Boston, it's difficult to see any one player stepping up as a fantasy option.
Description: Celtics guard Jason Terry scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting in 25 minutes off the bench Friday after scoring just eight in the opener.
Insight: Terry averaged 32 minutes and 13.2 field goal attempts per game last season with the Mavericks but it's hard to see that happening on Boston with Paul Pierce, Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Leandro Barbosa around.
Description: Celtics guard Courtney Lee started and played 24 minutes for his new team in Tuesday's season opener versus the Heat. Lee scored 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Insight: That's about what fantasy owners can expect from Lee from a minutes and shots standpoint this season. He's going to have to make a high percentage to have fantasy relevance.
Description: Celtics guard Leandro Barbosa scored all 16 of his points Tuesday in the fourth quarter, going 6-of-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from 3-point range.
Insight: Barbosa was called on for a late spark with Jason Terry (8 points, 2-7 shooting) and Jeff Green (3 points, 0-4) struggling. He's unlikely to be a consistent option unless those players continue to falter.
Description: Celtics forward/center Kevin Garnett only had nine points and turned the ball over five times against the Heat Tuesday but he made up for it with 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Insight: Garnett had an excellent season a year ago, scoring 15.8 points with 8.2 rebounds and one block per game. While there's a chance age will catch up to him, we're not betting against the fiery Garnett.
Description: Celtics forward Brandon Bass started and scored 15 points with 11 rebounds on 6-of-11 shooting in 28 minutes Tuesday versus Miami.
Insight: Bass averaged 12.5 points and 6.2 rebounds in 31.5 mpg last season and it's difficult to see him improving upon those numbers with rookie Jared Sullinger in the fold. Sullinger only played eight minutes Tuesday but he'll likely cut into Bass' minutes as the season wears on.
Description: Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo had an excellent season debut Tuesday against the Heat with 20 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds on 9-of-14 shooting.
Insight: Rondo is already a fantasy stud due to his passing ability. If he can increase his scoring average he could be a top-10 player.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo has shot 77 percent (17-of-22) from the foul line in eight preseason game, according to the Boston Herald.
Insight: Rondo's career average is just 59.7 percent. We expect the point guard to have a career year scoring the basketball and that will be facilitated by an improved free-throw percentage.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green is expected to play 30-plus minutes a game this season as a backup to both forward positions, according to CSN New England.
Insight: Green played just 23.5 minutes per game in 26 games with the Celtics after coming over in a trade from the Thunder in 2010-11. He missed all of last season with a heart condition but could return to form this season as a double-digit scorer and solid rebounder off the bench.
Description: Celtics power forward Brandon Bass is expected to start opening night against the Heat.
Insight: Boston's other option would be rookie Jared Sullinger, who has averaged 10.9 ppg in the preseason. Bass tallied 9.9 ppg on 50 percent shooting against Miami last year in the conference finals.
Description: Boston rookie Jared Sullinger turned in another strong performance in Saturday's preseason game against the Knicks, scoring 10 points and grabbing eight rebounds in 31 minutes.
Insight: Sullinger should carve out a role as Boston's first big man off the bench, which should allow him to see 25 minutes per game. He's a late-round option in deeper leagues.
Description: Celtics guard Jason Terry came off the bench and scored 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-6 on 3-pointers, in Saturday's preseason game against the Knicks.
Insight: The Celtics brought in Courtney Lee, Terry and Leandro Barbosa in the offseason and have Avery Bradley due to return from an injury in December so things are going to be crowded in Boston's back court. However, we like Terry to emerge as the best Celtics fantasy SG option.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting and grabbed six rebounds in Boston's preseason game Saturday against the Knicks.
Insight: Green started and played 38 minutes in the game. He won't have anything close to that large of a role in the regular season offense so fantasy owners can disregard this performance.
Description: Celtics guard Courtney Lee is still dealing with soreness in his thigh after bruising it almost a month ago.
Insight: It appears that Lee will continue to play through the injury. He has started four of Boston's six preseason games so far, averaging 10.7 ppg in 25.3 minutes per contest. He's likely to open the year as the team's starting shooting guard while Avery Bradley recovers from offseason shoulder surgery.
Description: The Boston Globe is reporting that Celtics head coach Doc Rivers will rest his starters during Saturday's preseason game against the Knicks.
Insight: This will give Paul Pierce a chance to rest his injured ankle before the start of the regular season. He and starters Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo might also sit out Sunday's game against the 76ers.
Description: Celtics small forward Paul Pierce rolled his ankle during Thursday's exhibition win over the Nets and was seen limping after the game.
Insight: Pierce injured his ankle in the first half but returned to the floor at the start of the third quarter, suggesting that the injury isn't all that serious. He might sit out Boston's next preseason game as a precaution but Pierce should be fine for the season opener October 30th in Miami.
Description: The Celtics have agreed on a one-year contract with guard Leandro Barbosa, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Insight: Besides Rajon Rondo it's extremely difficult to predict who will stand out among Boston's guard options. The Celtics will head into the season with Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Barbosa and Jeff Green among players who can play the two-guard spot. The situation will be further complicated by the return of Avery Bradley in December.
Description: Gary Washburn from the Boston Globe reports that Celtics head coach Doc Rivers has suggested that Brandon Bass isn't a lock to open the season as the team's starting power forward.
Insight: The Celtics are much deeper than they have been in past seasons after adding rookie Jared Sullinger and veteran Darko Milicic at power forward during the offseason. Bass is still the favorite to start but he may not be see as many minutes as the 31.7 per game he logged last season.
Description: Boston rookie forward Jared Sullinger knocked in a team-best 16 points Friday in an exhibition loss to Istanbul.
Insight: Sullinger also grabbed eight rebounds for the Celtics including five on the offensive glass. It was an impressive debut but we're still not sure Sullinger will get enough minutes during the regular season to be considered a realistic fantasy option.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo's first game of the preseason on Friday produced mixed results. In a team-high 30 minutes of action, Rondo scored 13 points on 3-of-9 shooting with nine assists and three steals. He also contributed a team-high five turnovers.
Insight: Turnovers were an issue for Rondo but his touch from the charity stripe looked much improved as the 26-year-old sank all six of his free throw tries. Rondo, known for being an erratic long-range shooter, went 1-for-2 from beyond the three-point line during the 97-91 loss.
Description: Shooting guard Jason Terry tallied 12 points Friday in his exhibition debut for the Celtics.
Insight: Terry was his usual effective self from the three-point line, nailing all three of his shots from behind the arc. After Friday's contest in Istanbul, Boston now heads to Italy to take on Milan Milano in another exhibition matchup on Sunday.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green led the team with 16 points Friday in an exhibition loss versus Istanbul.
Insight: Green made 7-of-10 field goals with four rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes of action. Boston outscored Istanbul by 10 points while Green was on the floor.
Description: Boston forward Paul Pierce scored eight points on 3-of-7 shooting Friday in a 97-91 loss to Istanbul.
Insight: Pierce also contributed three rebounds and three assists in 26 minutes of action. Obviously the Celtics weren't trying to work Pierce too hard in their exhibition opener, so fantasy owners shouldn't be too concerned about his underwhelming statline.
Description: Celtics guard Courtney Lee has been bothered by a bruised thigh, though the team doesn't think the injury will affect his status for Boston's season opener against the Heat later this month.
Insight: With Avery Bradley sidelined until at least December, Lee projects to begin the season as the team's starting shooting guard. The actual amount of playing time Lee will receive depends on his performance in camp as veteran Jason Terry could easily swoop in and take minutes away if Lee gets off to a slow start.
Description: Celtics coach Doc Rivers could experiment by giving Jeff Green a chance to play some power forward this season according to an ESPN Boston report.
Insight: At 6-foot-9, Green has the height to be able to contribute as a four, but it remains to be seen whether he can develop a workable low-post game. If Green shows he has the muscle to contribute down low during the preseason, he could earn minutes as a backup to starting power forward Brandon Bass.
Description: Celtics forward Jeff Green is practicing without any restrictions. Green is less than a year removed from a heart operation that cost him his entire 2011-12 season.
Insight: Green is getting rave reviews so far in training camp and it looks like he'll open the season as Paul Pierce's backup at small forward. Pierce is aging, but he's still a Hall of Fame talent when he's on the court, so we're not expecting Green to average double-digit points like he did in Oklahoma City when he was a starter.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley, who had two surgeries in the offseason is "not even close" according to coach Doc Rivers.
Insight: With the Celtics suffering multiple injuries, Bradley sparkled last April, averaging 15.1 ppg, 2.6 rpg and 1.5 apg. With Ray Allen (14.2 ppg) in Miami, Bradley was expected to have a big impact this season. It appears, however, that his season won't start until late December or January at the earliest.
Description: Celtics forward Paul Pierce, who played through the playoffs with an MCL sprain, should be ready to go by training camp.
Insight: Pierce, who told people in August that he was about 90-percent recovered, should not see any drop in his fantasy value due to the injury. The fact that he's 34-years-old with 1,025 games on his resume might be another story.
Description: According to ESPN Boston, Courtney Lee is likely to begin the year as the Celtics' starting shooting guard.
Insight: Lee (11.4 ppg) will probably split time at the two with sixth-man Jason Terry, though that will change once Avery Bradley (shoulder surgery) comes back into the picture in early December.
Description: Center Greg Stiemsma has agreed to a multi-year offer sheet reportedly worth $3 million per year with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The Boston Celtics will not be able to match the deal, as they cannot afford anything more than the $2 million biannual exception.
Insight: Though Stiemsma will likely back up Nikola Pekovic at center, he'll have some fantasy value due to the dearth of shot blockers in the NBA. Stiemsma averaged 1.5 blocks in just under 14 mpg last season, which averages out to 5.33 blocks per 48 minutes.
Description: Boston completed its sign and trade deal for shooting guard Courtney Lee on Friday. Lee's contract is worth $21 million for four seasons. The Rockets will receive JaJuan Johnson, E'Twaun Moore and Sean Williams as compensation.
Insight: Lee (11.4 ppg) will likely be the Celtics' starting point guard at the beginning of the season while Avery Bradley (7.6 ppg) recovers from offseason shoulder surgery. Jason Terry (15.1 ppg) will come off the bench, as he has for most of his career.
Description: The Celtics have re-signed power forward Chris Wilcox to a one-year $1.35 million deal.
Insight: Wilcox (5.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg) actually made a few starts for Boston last season while the team was still trying to find a long-term solution at center but he probably won't be much of a factor this upcoming season, especially now that rookie big men Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo are on the roster.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley will undergo a second shoulder surgery and could be out until mid-December according to Boston coach Doc Rivers.
Insight: With Ray Allen (14.2 ppg) heading to Miami, Bradley (7.6 ppg) was expected to see a solid rise in fantasy value next season but now it appears that newly-signed veteran guard Jason Terry (15.1 ppg) will be the biggest beneficiary of Allen's departure.
Description: It appears that Jeff Green and the Celtics have come to an agreement on a new four-year $40 million deal.
Insight: Green claims to be 100 percent following his heart surgery and figures to see about 20 minutes a game backing up Paul Pierce and Avery Bradley. He scored 9.8 ppg in 26 games for Boston in 2011 after coming over from Oklahoma City at the trade deadline.
Description: The Clippers cancelled their meeting with free agent shooting guard Ray Allen after coming to terms with Chauncey Billups and Jamal Crawford on Thursday. That leaves two teams still in the running for the 16-year veteran: the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat.
Insight: Just like in the Eastern Conference Finals, it comes down to the Celtics and the Heat, which is interesting because Allen's priority was to go to a team where he would be the starting shooting guard and he wouldn't be a starter for either of these teams. Does Allen stay with the team he's played the last five seasons with or does he take a pay-cut to try and win a championship with LeBron James and the Big Three? We should know the answer to that question within the next couple of days.
Description: Boston forward Brandon Bass has agreed to stay with the Celtics for three more seasons.
Insight: Bass contributed career highs in points (12.5 ppg) and rebounds (6.2 rpg) as the Celtics' starting power forward last season. He was also the team's best free-throw shooter during the postseason (92 percent).
Description: Former Mavericks guard Jason Terry is expected to sign a three-year $15 million deal with Boston.
Insight: Terry (15.1 ppg) will provide the Celtics with a much-needed scoring touch off the bench but fans hoping for a Ray Allen return to Boston have to be disappointed by this news. With Boston already committed to Terry and Avery Bradley at shooting guard, that doesn't leave much playing time left for Allen, who has never been on the court for fewer than 30 minutes per game in any of his 16 NBA seasons.
Description: It may be time to make room for a new contender in the Ray Allen sweepstakes. Sunday, the Grizzlies offered Allen their full-midlevel exception, which would pay the Celtics guard $10 million over two seasons.
Insight: The Grizzlies still can't give Allen (14.2 ppg, 45.3 percent three point shooting last season) close to the amount of money that Boston can but he'd probably have a better shot to start in Memphis than he would on either the Celtics or the Heat.
Description: Signing free agent shooting guard Ray Allen will be the Heat's top priority this offseason.
Insight: Miami and Boston are thought to be the favorites in the Ray Allen sweepstakes though the Suns, Grizzlies, Clippers and Knicks have shown interest in the veteran three-point shooter as well. The Heat are only able to offer Allen (14.2 ppg, 45.3 percent three-point field goal percentage in 2011-12) their midlevel exception, which would pay the 36-year-old $3 million a year. That's much less than what Allen made playing for the Celtics last season ($10 million).
Description: After briefly considering retirement, center Kevin Garnett has decided to remain with the Celtics by agreeing to a new three-year $34 million deal.
Insight: We had a feeling Garnett would come back, especially after how well he played in the postseason this year (19.2 ppg, 10.4 rpg). With Garnett returning and Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo still under contract, the Celtics know they will have at least three fourths of their Big Four in tact when they take the floor at the start of next season. Now the question for Boston is, will free agent Ray Allen return or will he switch sides and sign with their hated rival, the Miami Heat? We should know the answer fairly soon.
Description: Ohio State forward Jared Sullinger was chosen by the Celtics with the 21st pick in Thursday night's NBA Draft.
Insight: Sullinger was projected to be a top-five pick heading into last college basketball season but injuries and inconsistent play caused his draft stock to plummet. At pick No. 21, Sullinger (17.6 ppg, 9.3 rpg for the Buckeyes in 2011-12) could be a steal for Boston, especially if Kevin Garnett retires and the Celtics end up needing a big.
Description: Celtics center Kevin Garnett was fined $25,000 by the league for not making himself available to the media following Boston's Game 7 loss to Miami on Saturday.
Insight: Garnett makes $21 million a year so this is just a slap on the wrist. He'll be a free agent this offseason and it's very unclear where he will end up. Of course, the Celtics are the favorites to land him but San Antonio could have a need for Garnett as well, even though he and Tim Duncan have never had a strong relationship. Plenty of sources including Garnett's close friend and former teammate Sam Cassell have said that Garnett might also be thinking about retirement.
Description: Celtics guard Mickael Pietrus underwent right knee surgery Wednesday in Boston.
Insight: Pietrus (6.9 ppg) should be fine by the start of next season. The 6-foot-6 guard will be a free agent this offseason but he says he's hoping to return to the Celtics.
Description: Celtics guard Ray Allen will have surgery to remove bone spurs from his right ankle Wednesday in Boston.
Insight: The ankle injury impacted Allen most of the second half of the season and it certainly contributed to his career-low 10.7 ppg average during the playoffs. He'll be a free agent during offseason and the consensus is that he has played his final game as a Boston Celtic.
Description: Coach Doc Rivers is hoping that the Celtics can get Kevin Garnett more involved in the team's offense when the series shifts to Boston for Game 3 Friday night.
Insight: Garnett scored 18 points Wednesday in Game 2 but that number isn't as impressive when you factor in a five-minute overtime period. Garnett was just six of 18 shooting though he did convert all six of his three throws. Rajon Rondo (44 points) carried the scoring load in Game 2's loss but Coach Rivers is hoping for a more balanced attack on Friday.
Description: Greg Stiemsma should be available if the Celtics need him Saturday night in Game 7 of their series against the 76ers. Stiemsma asked to be removed from Wednesday night's Game 6 because his foot was bothering him.
Insight: Stiemsma has been struggling with plantar fisciitis for the last month but Boston will need as much depth as possible if they want to win this series, so expect Stiemsma to be out there on Saturday.
Description: Despite skipping practice because of an illness on Friday, Keyon Dooling will play Saturday night in Boston's Game 7 against the 76ers.
Insight: Dooling has only scored six points in this series but he should see more minutes than usual in Game 7 with Avery Bradley on the sidelines and Ray Allen dealing with ankle trouble.
Description: You can expect Avery Bradley to miss the the remainder of the playoffs for Boston. Bradley hurt his shoulder in the first round against the Hawks and aggravated the injury in Game 4 last Friday night in Philadelphia.
Insight: This is not what Celtics fans want to hear. Boston could have really used Bradley's help on the defensive end in Wednesday's Game 6 loss. Ray Allen, who is probably only a little bit healthier than Bradley right now (he's dealing with an ankle injury), will start Game 7 for the Celtics on Saturday.
Description: Celtics guard Ray Allen should be the starter for Game 6 with Avery Bradley likely to miss due to a sore left shoulder.
Insight: Allen hasn't done much in the series, averaging just 7.0 ppg. He's scored a total of 13 points in the last three games, shooting 5-for-14 (.357) from the field.
Description: Boston guard Avery Bradley, who missed Wednesday morning's shootaround, is doubtful for Game 6 in Philadelphia. Bradley dislocated his shoulder Friday night in Game 4.
Insight: "I don't think he'll play tonight," said Doc Rivers. Ray Allen will likely start.
Description: Greg Stiemsma had an extremely efficient night for the Celtics Monday against Philadelphia. The 6-foot-11 center from Wisconsin scored 10 points and was a perfect 5-5 from the field in 14 minutes of action.
Insight: Stiemsma had made just one basket in the series coming into Monday night's tilt, so this was easily Stiemsma's best game of the series. He also added three blocks and two rebounds. As good as he was in Game 5, it's doubtful that Stiemsma will be much of a factor going forward for Boston, as he is primarily used as a defensive stopper and usually only plays when Kevin Garnett is in foul trouble or needs a rest.
Description: Rajon Rondo earned his fourth double-double of the series Monday in Boston's Game 5 win over the 76ers. He led the Celtics with 14 assists to go along with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
Insight: Rondo was the top distributor in the league this season and he's shown why in this series, averaging an incredible 14.6 apg. He's scoring at a 14.4 ppg clip, which is two and a half points ahead of his season average of 11.9 ppg. The 6-foot-1 point guard has emerged as Boston's best player this postseason and it looks like the Celtics will go as far as Rondo can carry them.
Description: After struggling in Game 4, Kevin Garnett was back to his old self Monday in Game 5, collecting 20 points on 8-17 shooting in Boston's 101-85 win.
Insight: Garnett did most of his damage in the second quarter, when he went off for 11 points. For the series, Garnett is averaging 20 ppg and 10.6 rpg. The Celtics will look to close out the series Wednesday in Game 6 back in Philadelphia.
Description: Brandon Bass produced his best performance of the playoffs Monday in Boston's Game 5 win over the 76ers. Bass led the Celtics with 27 points on 9-13 shooting. He also knocked down nine of his 10 free throw attempts.
Insight: Bass was a monster on the offensive side of the ball Monday, hitting jumpers, going to the hole for easy dunks and hitting nearly all of his free throws when he was fouled. He also grabbed a team-high six rebounds. If Bass can continue to score like this going forward, the Celtics are going to be extremely difficult to stop.
Description: Ray Allen has been inserted into the Boston starting lineup for Monday's Game 5 against the 76ers. It's Allen's first start since April 4th.
Insight: Allen lost his spot in the starting lineup late in the season after injuring his ankle but with Avery Bradley now sidelined with a shoulder injury, the 36-year-old is back in the starting five again. Allen averaged 14.5 ppg in the first two games of the series but since then he has only scored eight total points on 3-of-7 shooting.
Description: Avery Bradley is out Monday night for Game 5 of Boston's series against the 76ers. Bradley dislocated his shoulder Friday night in Game 4.
Insight: Bradley's shoulder has been a problem since the first round against Atlanta and it doesn't look like he'll be available for the rest of this series. Veteran sharpshooter Ray Allen will start at shooting guard in Bradley's place.
Description: Thirty-six year old Kevin Garnett has stepped up his game in the playoff and his inside power is producing excellent fantasy numbers.
Insight: No longer limited in minutes as he was in the regular season Garnett is averaging 19.2 ppg, 11.0 rpg and 2.1 apg in 10 playoff games, a solid improvement over his season-long numbers.
Description: Celtics guard Avery Bradley is listed as probable for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Monday against Philadelphia, though he is not participating in practice on Monday and should be considered a game-time decision.
Insight: Obviously, Bradley will not be playing at 100-percent even if he dresses, so you should expected bigger minutes for Ray Allen and Mickael Pietrus. Bradley is averaging 6.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg and 1.0 apg in four playoff contests against Philadelphia.
