Description: Indians left fielder Michael Brantley is dealing with a tight lower back.
Insight: He's had the problem earlier this spring, so it's looking like an ongoing issue. brantley was a breakout star last season with a .327 batting average, 20 HR, 97 RBI, 94 runsand 23 steals. It's tough playing at a high level with a bad back so fantasy owners should be concerned by this.
Description: Phillies left fielder Domonic Brown has been diagnosed with moderate tendinitis of his left Achilles, according to beat writer Todd Zolecki of mlb.com.
Insight: Brown could miss up to a week, but with no structural damage, at the worst, he should be ready a little after Opening Day. After a 27 HR 2013, Brown disappointed fantasy owners last season hitting just .235 with 10 homers and 63 RBI. Expectations are much lower this season and he could be worth a late-round flier.
Description: Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo, after a disappointing first season in Texas, is not expected to be the team's primarly leadoff hitter.
Insight: It appears Leonys Martin will start the season at the top of the lineup, leaving Choo to likely bat fifth and serve as protection for Adrian Beltre. Choo batted just .242 with 13 HR, 40 RBI, 58 runs and a .714 OPS after posting much higher numbers in previous seasons with Cincinnati and Cleveland.
Description: Tigers outfielder Yoenis Cespedes left Thursday's game due to a tight left quad.
Insight: Cespedes also dealt with a sore lower back earlier in spring training. Neither should keep him from playing on opening day. Cespedes should be in for a good season in a lineup that included Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez. He batted .260 last season with 22 HR and 100 RBI.
