Description: Washington owner Daniel Snyder is leaving the decision to bench quarterback Robert Griffin III up to head coach Mike Shanahan. SOURCE: Washington Post
Insight: We expect a decision to be made on Wednesday. If Griffin is benched, the Redskins will turn to Kirk Cousins Sunday in Atlanta. Cousins has completed 12-of-25 passes for 107 yards and two interceptions in parts of two games this season.
Description: Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving went off for 37 points Tuesday in a 15-point victory over the Knicks.
Insight: Irving could not be stopped on Tuesday night. He shot 14-of-23 from the field including four out of seven from three-point distance. He also contributed his second-highest assist total of the season (11 dimes in 36 minutes). If Uncle Drew can keep this up, he should be headed to his second All-Star Game in as many seasons.
Description: Capitals right wing Alex Ovechkin netted four goals in Tuesday\'s overtime win against the Lightning.
Insight: Ironically, he missed his only chance in the shootout period. Tuesday marked Ovechkin\'s third four-goal game and the 13th hat trick of his career. He needs six more hat tricks to tie Peter Bondra\'s team record. Ovechkin leads the NHL with 26 goals this season.
