Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Green tallied the game-winning goal in the third to lift the Washington Capitals over the Vancouver Canucks, 4-3, on Friday. Joel Ward, Alexander Ovechkin, and Tom Wilson also scored for the Capitals, who snapped a two-game skid. Evgeny Kuznetsov added three helpers and Jaroslav Halak turned made 38 saves in the win. Already without Daniel Sedin, Vancouver head coach John Tortorella announced earlier on Friday that another star would be out of the lineup. Ryan Kesler is expected to miss a few weeks with a right knee injury. Jordan Schroeder, Shawn Matthias, and Nicklas Jensen all lit the lamp for the Canucks, who have dropped two of their last three. Riley Sheahan scored in the first period and Howard finished the game with 21 saves for the Red Wings, who had dropped four of five coming in. Ryan Smyth scored in the third period and Fasth made 22 saves for the Oilers, who have dropped three of four.

Brian Campbell and Quinton Howden also tallied and Jonathan Huberdeau picked up a pair of assists for the Panthers, who ended a three-game slide. Roberto Luongo stopped all 11 shots he faced in the final 20 minutes and recorded 28 saves for the contest. Bryce Salvador, Jaromir Jagr and Patrik Elias scored for the Devils, who saw a two-game win streak conclude. Damien Brunner added two helpers, but Cory Schneider allowed four goals on just 21 shots in defeat.

Mike Cammalleri had two goals, including the tying marker in the third, and Paul Byron also scored in the third for the Flames, who have won their past two. MacDonald finished the game with 22 stops. Jamie Benn, Antoine Roussel and Erik Cole all scored for the Stars, who had won three straight coming in. Thomas made 27 stops in defeat.

Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Palmieri scored two goals in a six-goal second period for the Anaheim Ducks, who defeated the Colorado Avalanche, 6-4, on Friday. Daniel Winnik, Corey Perry, Ben Lovejoy, and Mathieu Perreault also lit the lamp as the Ducks snapped a four-game skid. Cam Fowler, Nick Bonino, and Ryan Getzlaf all contributed two assists each. Jonas Hiller turned aside 34 shots for the victory. Jamie McGinn supplied two goals, while John Mitchell and Gabriel Landeskog also scored.
