Insight: Folk should benefit, though, from the new kickoff rules. He averaged 62 yards per kickoff, ranking near the bottom of the league. He was more consistent in 2010, though, finishing the season with seven consecutive field goals made, and should still have a leg up when the training-camp competition begins.

Description: Folk missed three field goals in the team's Week 10 overtime victory at Cleveland, but special teams coach Mike Westhoff says he hasn't lost faith in the kicker yet.
Insight: Teams tend to say such things by waiving kickers. One has to figure that Folk's unsteadiness will at least make the team think twice before sending him in for longer attempts. He's no more than an average fantasy option right now, even for a kicker. (RapidDraft.com)

2/23/2010 2:50:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, via Twitter, that the Jets have signed Folk.
Insight: Folk struggled in 2009 kicking for the Cowboys, and was eventually released. Incumbent Jets' kicker Jay Feely is scheduled to become a free agent, but the team may bring in competition for Folk even if Feely signs elsewhere. (SportsBuff.com)

12/14/2009 12:43:00 PM

Insight: Folk is just 3-for-9 on field goals over the last five games, including 1-for-2 on Sunday against San Diego. Kickoff specialist David Beuhler may become an option, but the team could easily look outside the organization for help. (SportsBuff.com)

Insight: Folk had hip surgery in May, but now appears to be 100%. The Cowboys have an above average offense, and Folk could be a top-10 (or even top five) fantasy kicker this season. (SportsBuff.com)

6/17/2009 2:54:00 AM
Description: Folk had a down year as he made only 20-of-22 field goals and 42 extra points last season with the Cowboys.
Insight: Folk underwent surgery to repair a right hip labral tear in March and remains questionable to be ready for the start of training camp. Folk's job is safe for now but he will need to prove that he is healthy and can regain his form as a top fantasy kicker. (SportsBuff.com)

10/7/2008 2:31:00 PM
Description: Folk had one field goal and was perfect with his four extra point attempts in the Cowboys? Week 5 win against Cincinnati.
Insight: Folk is the kicker for a Cowboy offense that spends a lot of time in the red-zone. He should be a solid play this week against Arizona. (SportsBuff.com)
