Durant, Millsap earn Player of the Week honors

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant claimed his second consecutive NBA Western Conference Player of the Week award on Monday, while Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap took home top honors in the Eastern Conference for games ending Jan. 26.

Durant averaged a league-best 38.0 points along with 8.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists in three Oklahoma City wins, highlighted by a triple-double of 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in a matchup against Philadelphia this past Saturday. The NBA's current scoring leader also tallied 46 points in a Thunder victory over Portland on Jan. 21.

Currently riding a streak of 10 consecutive games with 30 or more points, Durant averaged 39.3 points, 6.5 assists and 4.8 rebounds in winning last week's award as well.

Millsap averaged 21.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks in leading the Hawks to a 3-1 week that included a win over defending NBA champion Miami on Jan. 20. The eight-year veteran posted 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists in that game.

Others nominated for this week's awards were Brooklyn's Mirza Teletovic, Charlotte's Al Jefferson, Golden State's Stephen Curry, Memphis' Zach Randolph, Chris Bosh and LeBron James of Miami, New Orleans' Anthony Davis, New York's Carmelo Anthony and DeMar DeRozan and Terrence Ross of Toronto.
