Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke left Wednesday's game after turning his right ankle chasing down a ball in right center.
Insight: X-rays were negative. Van Slyke was a great fantasy option Wednesday and went 1-for-2 with a solo homer before leaving, but doesn't see much regular time. He should miss the next few days.

Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke left Wednesday's game in the bottom of the fourth inning with an apparent ankle injury. He twisted his ankle while chasing a ball in left center field but walked off under his own power.
Insight: With a career .438 average, four home runs and five RBI versus Arizona starting pitcher Wade Miley and a 1.042 OPS against southpaws this season, Van Slyke was a great fantasy option Wednesday. He went 1-for-2 with a solo homer before leaving.

Insight: Van Slyke is hitting the ball well this season (.268, 8 HR, 15 RBI in 112 at-bats, but this matchup should be avoided.

6/9/2014 10:39:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke went 3-for-3 with two homers, two walks, four RBI and three runs Monday against the Reds.
Insight: Van Slyke is now second to Yasiel Puig among Dodgers outfielders in home runs with six, which says a lot because he has just 72 at-bats while Matt Kemp has 193, Andre Ethier has 175 and Carl Crawford has 150. He's also walked 18 times and has a 1.060 OPS.

6/9/2014 3:03:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke will get the start on Monday in center field.
Insight: Van Slyke is batting .246 this season with a .924 OPS though he has never faced Reds left-hander Tony Cingrani.

5/16/2014 10:43:00 AM
Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke ought to get a spot start on Friday as he's 5-for-13 (.385) with two doubles and three homers versus Arizona left-hander Wade Miley.
Insight: Van Slyke offers power to fantasy owners when he gets a chance to play, but its a crowded Dodgers outfield and he's No. 5 on the depth chart. He's batting .255 this season with a .949 OPS. He's worth a flier IF he's in the starting lineup.

4/5/2014 12:50:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke will get a start in left field on Saturday.
Insight: Given Andre Ethier's .125 batting average versus Madison Bumgarner this is no surprise. Van Slyke offers power to fantasy owners. He he seven last year in 129 at-bats with an .807 OPS.

3/22/2014 9:47:00 AM
Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke got the start in left field with Carl Crawford not in Australia and made the most of it with a double and a homer in the team's season opener.
Insight: Van Slyke posted seven homers and a .807 OPS in 129 at-bats last season, but as the fifth outfielder on the team, barring injury, doesn't appear to have a way to get enough at-bats for fantasy owners to roster him.

7/20/2013 3:52:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles outfielder Scott Van Slyke will get the start in left field with Carl Crawford sidelined.

6/28/2013 8:05:00 PM
Description: Los Angeles outfielder and occasional first baseman Scott Van Slyke has returned from the disabled list.
Insight: He missed about two weeks with a shoulder ailment. With Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier in the outfield and Adrian Gonzalez at first base, there won't be a whole lot of opportunities for Van Slyke (.221, 6 HR, 11 RBI) to contribute. Fantasy owners can ignore him for now.

5/20/2013 12:12:00 PM
Description: Dodgers OF/1B Scott Van Slyke left Sunday's game with a leg injury and is questionable for Monday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Van Slyke is batting .267 with three home runs since being called up a week ago. He's been a solid .300 hitter in the minors (.397 at Albuquerque this season) and with the Dodgers looking for an offensive spark he's gotten a chance to show his talents this week.

5/8/2013 3:30:00 PM
Description: Dodgers minor league 1B/OF Scott Van Slyke continues to pound Pacific Coast League pitching, batting .400 with nine home runs, 28 RBI and a 1.249 OPS through 32 games.
Insight: Van Slyke batted .348 in 2011 and .327 last season at Albuquerque before struggling in a short stint with the Dodgers where he hit .167 in 54 at-bats. Considering the Dodgers are 28th of 30 teams in runs per game (3.41) and 27th in home runs (23) eventually they are going to have to find a spot for him.

4/12/2013 1:58:00 PM
Description: Dodgers minor outfielder Scott Van Slyke has set a torrid early pace, even for Pacific Coast League hitting, batting .571 with four home runs and 14 RBI through his first eight games.
Insight: Van Slyke batted .348 in 2011 and .327 last season at Albuquerque before struggling in a short stint with the Dodgers where he hit .167 in 54 at-bats. If he keeps hitting like this, the Dodgers are eventually going to have to give him another shot.

5/16/2012 1:36:00 PM
