Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Ian Kinsler launched a three-run homer and drove in four runs as the Detroit Tigers topped the Cleveland Indians, 7-5, in the finale of a truncated series. Austin Jackson knocked in a pair while Rajai Davis finished with two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Tigers, who shook off a one-run loss in Wednesday's opener after a Tuesday rainout. Justin Verlander (2-1) fanned seven and walked four over only five innings, but allowed three unearned runs on six hits for the win. Joe Nathan tossed a scoreless ninth to post his second save. Michael Brantley hit a two-run homer and added a two-run single for the Indians, while Lonnie Chisenhall went 4-for-4 and David Murphy knocked in Cleveland's other run. Danny Salazar (0-2) lasted only 4 2/3 frames, charged with six hits and five runs.

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Gibson hurled eight scoreless innings to lead the Minnesota Twins to a 7-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 1 of a day-night doubleheader. Gibson (3-0) fanned four while allowing four hits and one walk. Anthony Swarzak sat down the side in order in the ninth to put the game away. Trevor Plouffe and Josmil Pinto drove in a pair of runs apiece for the Twins, who have won four of five. Chris Colabello had two hits and an RBI and Jason Kubel and Kurt Suzuki chipped in an RBI apiece. Colby Rasmus and Josh Thole picked up two hits each to provide all the offense for the Jays. Toronto starter R.A. Dickey (1-3) was knocked around for five runs on seven hits through 4 1/3 frames, striking out four and walking five.

Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Mitch Moreland had three RBI to help the Texas Rangers to an 8-6 win over the Seattle Mariners in the finale of a four- game set. J.P. Arencibia picked up two RBI and Kevin Kouzmanoff hit two doubles and drove in one for the Rangers, who took the last three of the four- game series. Shin-Soo Choo was 2-for-5 with a home run. Texas starter Tanner Scheppers was touched for six runs on six hits over 2 1/3 innings. Pedro Figueroa (2-1) picked up the win after throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Joakim Soria earned his second save of the season setting down the side in order in the ninth. Robinson Cano blasted a three-run homer and Dustin Ackley went 2-for-4 with a two-run double for the Mariners, who have lost five of six. Corey Hart added a solo home run, while going 2-for-3 with a double. Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez exited after two-plus innings and being knocked around for five runs on six hits. Joe Beimel (0-1) allowed two runs in his lone inning of work to pick up the loss.
