Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Ricky Romero's forgettable 2012 season ended with an injury, as the Toronto Blue Jays starter exited Saturday's outing against the New York Yankees with a left knee injury.

Romero worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the third inning, but was limping after throwing a high fastball to Andruw Jones during the frame.

The left-hander did not make it out of the dugout in the fourth and wound up being charged with two runs on six hits, walking two and striking out three.

With just four Blue Jays' games remaining, Romero finished the year with a 9-14 record, which included 13 consecutive losses that ended in his penultimate start of the season.

Romero, Toronto's Opening Day starter, set career highs in ERA (5.77), WHIP (1.67) and walks (105) over 32 starts.
