 Ian Kinsler, 2B, DETHot4/22/2014 10:53:00 PM
Description: Detroit second baseman Ian Kinsler had two doubles, two RBI, two runs and a walk Tuesday against the White Sox. Insight: Kinsler is batting .319 with 14 runs, 13 RBI, three steals and a 7/5 K/BB in his first 72 at-bats with the Tigers.
 Jose Abreu, 1B, CWSHot4/22/2014 10:50:00 PM
Description: Chicago first baseman Jose Abreu socked a solo homer over the center-field wall off Justin Verlander in the top of the first inning Tuesday night. Insight: That\'s the center-field wall at Comerica Park, 420 feet away from home plate, if you were wondering. Abreu went 2-for-3 with two runs in the game and has six homers on the young season. He\'s done a good job to shake off his first MLB slump, going 8-for-20 with three doubles and two homers after a 1-for-25 stretch.

Russell Allen, LB, JAC4/22/2014 6:44:00 PM
Description: A brain injury has forced former Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen to retire from pro football. SOURCE: Sports Illustrated Insight: An on-field stroke against Buffalo in Week 15 left Allen with a dead spot on his brain. The injury was originally believed to be a concussion but was actually much more serious. Allen\'s best season came in 2012 when he recorded a career-high 131 tackles in 16 games for Jacksonville. The San Diego State alum turns 28 next month.
Richard Sherman, CB, SEA4/22/2014 6:42:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks are close to signing All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman to a long-term contract extension. SOURCE: Jason La Canfora, CBS Sports Insight: The two sides are hoping to have an agreement in place before the draft. The new deal should make Sherman (48 tackles, eight INT in 2013) the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.

 DeMar DeRozan, G/F, TOR4/22/2014 10:45:00 PM
Description: Toronto G/F DeMar DeRozan looked much better in Tuesday night\'s win over the Nets. Insight: DeRozan couldn\'t get much going in Game 1 (14 points on 3-of-13 shooting) but Game 2 was a completely different story. He ended up with 30 points in 38 minutes of court time. He shot 12-of-14 from the free throw line and is now 20-of-22 from that distance in this series (90.9 percent). Game 3 will be played Friday in Brooklyn.
 Jonas Valanciunas, C, TORHot4/22/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: The Raptors turned things around Tuesday in Game 2 and a lot of the credit goes to second-year big man Jonas Valanciunas (15 points, 14 rebounds). Insight: He\'s had a monster series, averaging 16 ppg and 16 rpg on 54.5 percent shooting. We\'ll see if Valanciunas has any magic left for Friday night\'s Game 3 in Brooklyn.
