Salvador Perez, C, KAN4/3/2014 9:32:00 AM
Description: Kansas City catcher Salvador Perez is hitless in nine at-bats against Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez.
Insight: Perez has gotten out of the gate quickly, batting .714 (5-for-7) through the first two games. He's a career .304 hitter and has the talent to hit 20 homers, but this is an unfavorable matchup.
Wilson Ramos, C, WAS4/2/2014 11:00:00 PM
Description: According to the Washington Post, Nationals manager Matt Williams confirmed Wednesday that catcher Wilson Ramos underwent surgery to remove the hamate bone from his left hand and will miss 4-5 weeks.
Insight: Players who have to undergo the surgery often experience a drop in power after returning to the lineup, so fantasy owners should start looking for a long-term replacement at catcher. Ramos played just 103 games over the past two seasons due to a torn ACL and a hamstring strain, and he hit 16 homers with 59 RBI in just 78 games last year.
Wilin Rosario, C, COL4/2/2014 6:36:00 PM
Description: Rockies catcher Wilin Rosario will get a night off Wednesday at Miami.
Insight: Rosario started the first two games behind the plate and went 1-for-5 with one RBI and two walks.
Jose Lobaton, C, WAS4/2/2014 11:29:00 AM
Description: Washington backup catcher Jose Lobaton will be expected carry the load with starter Wilson Ramos sidelined for a month or more.
Insight: Lobaton has never shown enough with the bat to win a starting gig, but he was ok in a part-time role last year in Tampa Bay batting .249 with seven homers, 32 RBI and a .714 OPS in 277 at-bats.
Evan Gattis, C, ATL4/2/2014 11:20:00 AM
Description: Braves catcher Evan Gattis is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Gattis is just getting a day of rest after playing the first two games of the season. After a 21 homer rookie season, a lot is expected of Gattis this season.
