Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with linebacker Wesley Woodyard on a multi-year contract.
Terms were not disclosed.
Woodyard spent his first six NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos and had been the club's middle linebacker for the past two years, starting 24 games. He led the team in tackles in 2012 with 117 and last year finished second with 84 stops.
"Wesley is a player who has experience playing in both 3-4 and 4-3 systems and in our new scheme he fits as one of the inside linebackers," said Titans general manager Ruston Webster on Friday. "He is smart and fast. He also brings the leadership qualities and intangible that we look for in a player, which makes him a good fit for us."
A six-time team captain, including special teams, Woodyard has started 40 of the 87 games he has played since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent. He has totaled 434 tackles with eight sacks, five interceptions and six forced fumbles during his career.
