Hot8/22/2014 9:22:00 AM
Description: Padres starter Tyson Ross matched Clayton Kershaw pitcher for pitch through the first seven innings, but gave up two runs in the eighth and ended up with a tough loss.
Insight: Ross (11-12, 2.68 ERA) gave up just four base hits all night, but Justin Turner's home run proved to be the pivotal play. On a team which scored runs, Ross would likely have 15 wins by now, but he's going to be in San Diego for a while and fantasy owners will have to deal with good stat,s but a low win tota,l because of the lack of support.

Description: Padres starter Tyson Ross threw a three-hit shutout Wednesday against the Reds.
Insight: Ross (7-8, 2.93 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) struck out nine and didn't walk anyone. The right-hander has the lowest contact rate in baseball this season and hasn't given up many hard-hit balls even when batters have made contact.

6/11/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: San Diego right-hander Tyson Ross delievered seven shutout innings Wednesday against Philadelphia.
Insight: He allowed just four hits and one walk over that span. Most of the world doesn't know it because he plays for the Padres but Ross (6-5, 2.97 ERA) is actually having a terrific season. We'll see how he fares in his next outing Monday against the Mariners.

Description: Padres starter Tyson Ross has given up a total of five hits and one run in 14 innings since rejoining the rotation.
Insight: Ross shut out Arizona over eight innings Sunday. He'll face the Yankees in his next start, a matchup that isn't as imposing as it used to be, but he's still shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues.

4/20/2013 7:15:00 PM
Description: Padres starter Tyson Ross has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sublaxed left (non-throwing) shoulder.
Insight: Ross has a 3.86 ERA this season, but he has thrown less than five innings in two of his three starts and 5 1/3 in the other and owns a 1.71 WHIP. It's unclear who will take his scheduled start Tuesday, though the team could opt to move up Clayton Richard, who was scratched Saturday due to the flu.

3/31/2013 9:13:00 PM
Description: Tyson Ross was begin the season as San Diego's fifth starter.
Insight: Of all the young pitchers called up by Oakland last season, Ross was the only one who didn't have any fantasy value. He went 2-11 with a 6.50 ERA and 1.81 WHIP. Pitching in Petco Park won't be much different from O.co Coliseum, where Ross posted a 5.23 ERA last season.

6/15/2012 9:58:00 PM
Description: The Athletics will recall starter Tyson Ross to start Saturday against San Diego. Ross will take the rotation turn of Brandon McCarthy, who is being skipped with shoulder soreness.
Insight: The 25-year-old Ross was demoted after he put up a 6.51 ERA in nine starts. The right-hander put together a few solid outings but he also gave up six runs or more three times, so he is too risky to start tomorrow.

4/22/2012 6:38:00 PM
Description: Tyson Ross walked five batters in 6 2/3 innings against Cleveland on Sunday, but he managed to give up just one run on four hits.
Insight: The 25-year-old Ross didn't walk a batter in his first start, so it's too soon to know if he'll have control problems this year. He's an average fantasy starter at best whose value is improved somewhat because of his home ballpark.
