Goodyear, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Mat Latos had knee surgery on Friday to repair a tear in the meniscus of his left knee.
Latos is expected to return to his throwing program in 10 days. He was injured a couple of days ago when he slipped while throwing.
The right-hander went 14-7 with a 3.16 ERA in 32 starts last season.
Since being acquired by the Reds in a trade with San Diego in December of 2011, Latos has put together a 28-11 record and a 3.32 ERA over 65 starts.
