Description: If you have been using Suns shooting guard Gerald Green during his hot March (23.3 ppg) be prepared for the possibility that just back from the injured list Eric Bledsoe will replace him in the starting five.
Insight: Phoenix is 3-7 over their last 10 games and coach Jeff Hornacek is looking to make some changes, according to an Arizona Republic report.
Description: Portland PF LaMarcus Aldridge has a lower back contusion and he'll miss both Friday and Saturday's game,
Insight: Aldridge (23.4 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.7 apg) will be reevaluated next week. Dorell Wright and Thomas Robinson will see more minutes with Aldridge out, but neither has Aldridge talent. Damian Lillard, Wes Mathews and Nicolas Batum should dominate the offense.
Description: Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans did not play Wednesday due to an illness and is questionable for Friday's game against Portland
Insight: Evans has averaged 22 ppg, 6.3 apg, 6.2 rpg, 1.0 spg in six games since he joined the starting lineup in place of Al-Farouq Aminu. If he's dressed, fantasy owners must start him, but it appears it will be a game-time decision.
Description: Cavaliers shooting guard C.J. Miles (ankle) didn't practice Thursday and isn't expected to play Friday, according to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Insight: Miles (10.1 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.0 apg) missed the last 10 games and probably will sit out an 11th Friday. Jarrett Jack has been starting in his place at shooting guard and Dion Waiters is seeing playing time as well.
Description: Cavaliers center Spencer Hawes is probable for Friday's game against Golden State despite rolling an ankle on Wednesday.
Insight: Hawes has averaged 16.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.4 threes and 1.0 blocks per game over his last nine games. It's always smart to get players on the floor in a game with the up tempo Warriors.
Description: Bobcats guard Gary Neal didn't play Wednesday due to "an internal team matter," but should be back in the mix for Friday against Minnesota.
Insight: Neal has limited value with Gerald Henderson back from a five-game absence. He's averaging 11.9 ppg in seven contests with Charlotte, but most of that work was done getting a healthy workload. He'll be lucky to see 20 minutes as a backup to Henderson.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo should be ready to go for Friday's matchup against Phoenix.
Insight: Rondo has averaged 34.6 minutes, 14.4 points, 10.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 threes since the start of February. Boston GM Danny Ainge said on a radio appearance Thursday that point guard Rajon Rondo probably won't play back-to-backs for the rest of the season, however, the Celtics were off Thursday so Rondo is expected to play.
Description: Bulls center Joakim Noah had 13 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 35 minutes Thursday against the Rockets.
Insight: Evidently Noah, aka the new-age Bill Walton, is going to flirt with a triple-double every night for the rest of the season. He's tied for second in the NBA with three, all of which came since Feb. 11. Noah has thrown up 13.3 ppg, 12.2 rpg, 5.6 apg, 1.6 bpg and 1.1 spg his last 43 games and averaged seven-plus assists per game over his last 15.
Description: Chicago G/F Mike Dunleavy gutted out a 37-minute, 21-point, seven-rebound performance Thursday against the Rockets, hitting four triples in the process.
Insight: An elbow to the face sent Dunleavy to the locker room with blood gushing from above his right eye and caused him to get 10 stitches, but he returned to start the second half and had his best scoring game since Feb. 25 after five straight games with single-digit points.
Description: Milwaukee forward Ersan Ilyasova returned from an ankle injury Thursday and had 22 points, 10 boards, three assists and two steals in 30 minutes.
Insight: Ilyasova missed one game. He has averaged 15.7 points and 7.8 rebounds over his last 10 games. For his career, Ilyasova has produced 12.7 ppg on .494 shooting after the All-Star break compared to 9.6 ppg on .416 shooting before it.
Description: Chicago G/F Mike Dunleavy suffered a laceration above his right eye during Thursday's game and needed 10 stitches. However, he was able to start the second half, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
Insight: Dunleavy was elbowed in the face and ran to the locker room with blood gushing from above his eye during the second quarter.
Description: Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman is hopeful Nikola Pekovic's minutes restriction will be lifted at some point in the next week, according to Nate Sandell of 1500espn.com.
Insight: Minnesota hasn't played Pekovic more than seven minutes at a time since he returned from ankle bursitis. In six games since he rejoined the lineup, the center has averaged 27 minutes per game, but he still managed to produced 16.8 ppg and 8.7 rpg in that stretch.
Description: Boston GM Danny Ainge said on a radio appearance Thursday that point guard Rajon Rondo probably won't play back-to-backs for the rest of the season, according to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe.
Insight: Rondo has averaged 34.6 minutes, 14.4 points, 10.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 threes since the start of February, but he sat out four games in that span. The Celtics have four more back-to-backs in their last 17 games.
Description: Pacers center Andrew Bynum will not play Friday against the 76ers, the team announced. However, he'll be back Saturday.
Insight: Perhaps the Pacers wanted to protect Bynum from the vitriol Philadelphia's crowd would have spewed at him had he played. The center made his Pacers debut Tuesday and had eight points and 10 rebounds over 16 minutes, but he probably won't play much more than that as Roy Hibbert's backup. The Pacers signed him to serve as insurance in the playoffs should Hibbert get into foul trouble or injured.
Description: Suns coach Jeff Hornacek is contemplating whether or not to put Eric Bledsoe in the starting lineup Friday, according to Matt Petersen of suns.com.
Insight: Phoenix brought Bledsoe off the bench in his return from knee surgery on Wednesday but still played him 32 minutes. He had 15 points, nine assists, three rebounds and two steals and is a must start in all fantasy leagues even if he remains on the bench. We'll see how the Suns divide the playing time of Gerald Green, P.J. Tucker and Marcus Morris now that Bledsoe is back.
Description: Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said 10 days ago that he "doubted" Steve Nash (back) would play again this season and it's now official.
Insight: Nash (7.6 ppg, 4.7 apg) has been battling nerve issues in his back all season. Jordan Farmar and Kendall Marshall will continue to share point-guard duties, with Farmar serving as a better fantasy option.
Description: Milwaukee forward Ersan Ilyasova (right ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against Atlanta.
Insight: John Henson will start for the Bucks if Ilyasova can't play. Ilyasova has picked up his play as of late, averaging 15 points and 7.6 rebounds over his last nine games, but he missed his 14th game of the season Tuesday.
Description: Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson will miss Friday's game against the Cavaliers due to the death of his grandfather, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Insight: He's starting Wednesday's game against the Clippers and will travel to the Bahamas for the funeral afterward. He'll be back in time for Sunday's game against the Blazers. Steve Blake and Jordan Crawford will fill in for Thompson Friday, though Draymond Green may also see some extra minutes.
Description: Heat center Chris Bosh has scored 22 or more points in three of the past four games.
Insight: Bosh had 24 points, seven rebounds and two threes Wednesday against the Nets. He added the 3-point shot to his regular arsenal in January and has made 1.4 triples per game over his last 25 games.
Description: Philadelphia shooting guard James Anderson has produced 17.5 ppg, 4.0 3pg, 3.0 rpg and 2.3 apg his last four games.
Insight: Anderson had 17 points, three assists, two rebounds and five triples in 31 minutes Wednesday against Sacramento. His long-range shot has really come along over his last 11 games as he has made 2.8 threes per game in that span. He made just 1.1 threes per game with a .299 3P% his first 53 games.
Description: Kings forward Rudy Gay drained 5-of-12 from the field and 16-of-19 from the free-throw line to reach the 20-point mark for the third straight game Wednesday against the Sixers.
Insight: Gay had 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals at Philadelphia. He has averaged 23 ppg on .486 shooting his last 11 games after a brief slump in mid-February. In 41 games with the Kings, Gay has made over 49 percent of his field-goal attempts.
Description: Magic shooting guard Arron Afflalo scored 24 points with two threes Wednesday against the Nuggets.
Insight: Afflalo threw up scoring efforts like this regularly earlier this season, but he came in averaging 16.9 ppg over his last 27 games. That's still good, but nowhere close to the 21.9 ppg he put up in his first 29 games.
Description: Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans will not play Wednesday due to an illness, according to Jennifer Hale of WVUE Fox 8.
Insight: Evans has averaged 22 ppg, 6.3 apg, 6.2 rpg, 1.0 spg in six games since he joined the starting lineup in place of Al-Farouq Aminu. With Eric Gordon also out sick Wednesday, look for Aminu, Anthony Morrow and Austin Rivers to play most of the SG/SF minutes.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo will sit out Wednesday in the second game of a back-to-back.
Insight: Rondo has averaged 34.6 minutes, 14.4 points, 10.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 threes since the start of February, but he still hasn't progressed to playing back-to-backs yet. Phil Pressey will start in his place Wednesday against the Knicks.
Description: Washington F/C Kevin Seraphin (knee) will play Wednesday, according to the Wizards on Twitter.
Insight: Seraphin missed the last seven games. With Nene out with a knee injury until next month, Seraphin will split time at power forward and backup center with Trevor Booker and Drew Gooden, limiting the fantasy value of all three.
Description: Pacers coach Frank Vogel said he'll hold Andrew Bynum out of practice Thursday to protect his knees with the hope that he'll be able to play Friday and Saturday.
Insight: Bynum had eight points and 10 rebounds over 16 minutes in his team debut Tuesday against the Celtics. He probably won't play much more than that as Roy Hibbert's backup. The Pacers signed him to serve as insurance in the playoffs should Hibbert get into foul trouble or injured.
Description: Los Angeles PF/C Jordan Hill (knee) missed Wednesday's practice and is doubtful for the next two games, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
Insight: Hill is dealing with knee soreness and missed the last five games. Ryan Kelly has averaged 34.9 minutes, 18 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.0 threes, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals the last two.
Description: Lakers swingman Nick Young (knee) didn't practice Wednesday and is doubtful for the next two games, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.
Insight: Young (16.8 ppg) suffered a non-displaced fracture in his knee on Feb. 5 and missed the next six games before returning on Feb. 23. He obviously returned too soon the first time. The Lakers will continue to go with Jodie Meeks, Wesley Johnson, Kent Bazemore and Xavier Henry on the wings.
Description: Bobcats guard Gerald Henderson (calf) participated in shootaround and is expected to play Wednesday against the Wizards, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.
Insight: Henderson (14.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.6 apg) missed the last five games with a strained calf. Chris Douglas-Roberts has averaged 29.9 minutes, 12.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 threes and 1.8 steals over the last five games while Gary Neal has put up 11.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 threes per game in that same timeframe, but both will have their minutes cut with Henderson back.
Description: Marcus Morris will start in place of P.J. Tucker on Wednesday, according to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic. Tucker is suspended for hitting Blake Griffin on Monday.
Insight: If Eric Bledsoe wasn't making his return from an injury we probably would see a starting lineup that included Bledsoe, Goran Dragic and Gerald Green with Tucker out, but Bledsoe is being eased back into action after missing two and a half months with a torn meniscus.
Description: Philadelphia center Nerlens Noel (torn ACL) is not expected to play this season. SOURCE: Marc Narducci, Philly Inquirer
Insight: He was hoping to return on April 4th so he could debut against his hometown Celtics but that was always a bit of a longshot. Noel is definitely a part of the team's plans, just not this season.
Description: ESPN's Arash Marzaki reports Lakers guard Kobe Bryant (knee fracture) is officially out for the season.
Insight: So is Steve Nash (nerve/back issues). Bryant only played in six games this season, generating 13.8 ppg over that span. Bryant, who is expected to be back for the start of next season, turns 36 in August.
Description: Knicks center Tyson Chandler will miss his second straight game Wednesday against the Celtics. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: He's out for personal reasons. Amare Stoudemire (10.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg) got the start at center Monday versus the Sixers, though he's also out for tonight's game (rest). With those two sidelined, Cole Aldrich (0.9 ppg) will make his first career start.
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond suffered a right finger injury in Tuesday's win over Sacramento. SOURCE: Vincent Goodwill, Detroit News
Insight: He played through it so we don't think fantasy owners have much to be concerned about. Even with the bad finger, Drummond still produced 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots. The win snapped Detroit's three-game losing streak.
Description: Thunder forward Serge Ibaka was all over the glass Tuesday in a win against the Rockets.
Insight: Ibaka finished with a game-high 16 rebounds while also shooting 6-of-14 from the field (12 points). He's been unstoppable since the All-Star break, averaging 16.2 ppg, 9.6 rpg and 2.7 bpg over his last nine contests. We're expecting another big game from him Thursday against the Lakers.
Description: T-Wolves forward Kevin Love was on his game Tuesday against the Bucks.
Insight: Love came through with 27 points, ten boards and six assists. He's been insanely consistent, averaging 27 ppg, 11.7 rpg and 6.3 apg over his last three appearances. Despite winning seven of their last ten, the Wolves are still five games out of a playoff spot. They would be the seventh seed if they played in the Eastern Conference.
Description: Pistons shooting guard Kyle Singler had 11 points, seven rebounds, five steals, three assists, two threes and a block in 40 minutes Tuesday against Sacramento.
Insight: Singler has averaged 35.5 minutes, 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 threes, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks in 17 games since he inherited the starting shooting guard job from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Description: In 10 games since he returned from a fractured wrist, Memphis guard Tony Allen has averaged 22.7 minutes, 10 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game.
Insight: He saw 26.6 minutes per game and put up 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game prior to the injury, but the Grizzlies picked up Courtney Lee while Allen was out of the lineup. His steals were the only thing keeping his fantasy value afloat earlier this season and now that he's not even getting one a game he's not worth owning.
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings hit just one of his 10 field-goal attempts Tuesday and had five points.
Insight: One thing we've seen with Jennings is that when things go bad with his shot, they go REALLY bad. For example he shot just 26.7 percent in 10 games from Dec. 28 to Jan. 20 and has hit only 49-of-150 (.327) in his last 13. In between those two frigid streaks, however, he put up 24.7 ppg on .426 shooting in 10 games. You just have to ride out the slumps when it comes to owning the Pistons point guard.
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith threw up a second straight 20-point game Tuesday against Sacramento, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two threes.
Insight: Smith has hit five threes on eight shots his last two games, which is scary because it may encourage him to take more of them. He's shooting just 24.5 percent from 3-point range on 3.3 attempts per game this season.
Description: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo logged a season-high 41 minutes on Tuesday, though he wasn't able to do much with it.
Insight: Rondo (eight points, eight assists, three rebounds) didn't come out the entire second half. With Rondo scheduled to rest Wednesday against the Knicks, head coach Brad Stevens knew he could give him a heavy workload. Phil Pressey (2.3 ppg) will start in Rondo's place tomorrow night.
Description: Andrew Bynum played well in his debut for Indiana Tuesday against Boston.
Insight: In 16 minutes, Bynum corralled ten rebounds while shooting 3-of-4 from the field. Best of all, Bynum actually played with enthusiasm and heart. He's not going to be much of a fantasy asset with Roy Hibbert standing in his way, but Bynum could be an important factor when the Pacers get to the playoffs.
Description: The Lakers are close to ruling Kobe Bryant out for the season. SOURCE: Scooby Axson, Sports Illustrated
Insight: Bryant hasn't played since injuring his knee in mid-December. Jodie Meeks (15.3 ppg) has actually done a nice job filling in for Bryant at shooting guard. He's coming off a career-best outing Sunday against the Thunder (42 points on 11-for-18 shooting).
