Description: Knicks point guard Jason Kidd has announced his retirement.
Insight: Kidd was a fantasy stud for most of his 19 seasons in the league, contributing points, rebounds and assists in quanity every night. He posted 107 triple-doubles in his career.

Cold5/16/2013 10:50:00 PM
Description: Jason Kidd's slump continued Thursday against the Pacers. He was held scoreless for the ninth consecutive game.
Insight: Kidd has now scored 11 points total in 11 playoff games. He only saw five minutes of action on Thursday and it's clear that Mike Woodson is beginning to lose confidence in his struggling veteran.

3/17/2013 6:29:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard Jason Kidd had 11 points, four rebounds, two steals and three treys Sunday against the Clippers.
Insight: Kidd had two nice games earlier this month but he has gone cold again over the last six. He can't be relief upon for fantasy numbers over the final month of the season.

3/5/2013 7:35:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard Jason Kidd has scored 26 points with seven threes, 16 rebounds, seven assists and six steals over the last two games to snap out of a vicious slump.
Insight: Kidd shot an atrocious 19.6 percent from the field in February (11 games) after hitting at a rate below 40 percent in each of the previous two months, so the Knicks dropped him out of the starting five. However, Kidd has played 31 mpg since moving to the bench.

Cold3/1/2013 6:24:00 PM
Description: The Knicks have bumped guard Jason Kidd out of the starting five, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post. New York will go with Raymond Felton, Iman Shumpert, James White, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler.
Insight: Kidd shot an atrocious 19.6 percent from the field in February (11 games) after hitting at a rate below 40 percent in each of the two previous months. Knicks coach Mike Woodson said that he wants Kidd to run the point off the bench instead of being paired with Felton. Either way, fantasy owners can move on.

Description: New York guard Jason Kidd (back) will start Friday against the Bucks. SOURCE: Frank Isola, NY Daily News
Insight: Kidd missed Wednesday's game and played just five minutes last Sunday. Even if he gets healthy, Kidd will be on a 20-25 minute restriction and should not be active in fantasy lineups.

2/1/2013 1:30:00 PM
Description: New York guard Jason Kidd is questionable for Friday's game against Milwaukee, but that doesn't mean he's healthy. He's dealing with a bad back that doesn't seem to be getting better..
Insight: Kidd missed Wednesday's game and played just five minutes last Sunday. He can't be depended on to give you statistics anymore and should not be in any fantasy lineups.

1/29/2013 12:03:00 PM
Description: New York guard Jason Kidd is probable for Wednesday's game against Orlando, but that doesn't mean he's healthy. He's dealing with a bad back that seems to be getting worse.
Insight: Kidd played just five minutes on Sunday and 15 minutes on Saturday without scoring in either game. He can't be depended on to give you statistics anymore and should not be in any fantasy lineups.

1/27/2013 8:35:00 PM
Description: New York guard Jason Kidd sat out the second half of Sunday's game against Atlanta to rest his aching back.
Insight: Now that Raymond Felton is healthy again, the Knicks have the luxury of giving their aging point guard a little more rest. The Knicks don't play again until Wednesday so we wouldn't expect Kidd to miss any games.

Description: Despite a report from ESPN New York suggesting that Knicks coach Mike Woodson planned to use Jason Kidd off the bench when Raymond Felton returns, Kidd (back) will start Saturday. SOURCE: Ian Begley, ESPN New York
Insight: Kidd's minutes per game before and after Felton's injury were actually very similar but Kidd attempted nearly two more shots per game while Felton was out than he did with Felton in the lineup. Woodson hopes to keep Kidd's minutes around 20-25 now that Felton is back.

Cold1/24/2013 11:58:00 AM
Description: ESPN New York reports that Knicks coach Mike Woodson is planning to use Jason Kidd off the bench when Raymond Felton returns from a broken pinkie.
Insight: The 39-year-old has been playing heavy minutes in place of Felton and it looks like he might be starting to wear down (just 5.3 ppg in his last four games). Iman Shumpert (5.0 ppg) is a candidate to take over Kidd's spot in the starting lineup when Woodson finally moves Kidd to the bench.

Cold1/13/2013 11:13:00 AM
Description: Knicks coach Mike Woodson admitted he is overextending veteran point guard Jason Kidd to make up for the absence of Raymond Felton. "We're playing Kidd a lot of minutes because we are a little shorthanded," Woodson said. "From a coaching standpoint, I know it's not healthy and not good for him to play him all those minutes, but I don't have a choice at this point." SOURCE: Newsday
Insight: New York has gone 3-5 without Felton and Kidd is shooting just 38.6 percent from the field in those games. He has been even worse in his last six, making 31.7 percent for 6.0 ppg in 29 mpg.

1/1/2013 10:27:00 PM
Description: New York guard Jason Kidd failed to score Tuesday against Portland, bricking all five of his field goal attempts. He only had three assists and three rebounds in 33 minutes.
Insight: Kidd did have three steals but that's hardly a consolation for an awful game. We're confident the veteran will bounce back; he came in having made 11-of-23 from behind the arc in his last three games.

Hot12/29/2012 10:26:00 AM
Description: New York guard Jason Kidd has turned up his production the last two games with Raymond Felton (hand) on the sidelines, averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 threes per game.
Insight: Kidd has been starting at shooting guard most of the season but he has taken over the point guard duties without missing a beat. Fantasy owners need to get the veteran in the lineup immediately.

Hot12/27/2012 9:36:00 AM
Description: New York guard Jason Kidd turned back the clock with a vintage performance Wednesday night against his old team, the Phoenix Suns. In 31 minutes, Kidd knocked in 23 points with six rebounds and eight assists.
Insight: Kidd has been starting at shooting guard most of the season but last night with Raymond Felton out, he took over the point guard duties without missing a beat. He's not an overwhelming presence in the world of fantasy but his 2012-13 numbers (8.7 ppg, 4 apg, 4.3 rpg) are certainly better than the paltry stats he posted in Dallas last season (6.2 ppg, 5.5 apg, 4.1 rpg).

12/16/2012 11:10:00 AM
Description: Knicks guard Jason Kidd only made 3-of-14 from the field, with 13 of his attempts coming from 3-point range, Saturday against Cleveland. Kidd had nine points, six rebounds, eight assists and two blocks.
Insight: Kidd made better than 50 percent of his 3-point attempts prior to Saturday's game so he was due for a cold stretch. Keep plugging him into your lineup.

Hot12/11/2012 10:24:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard Jason Kidd hit 6-of-8 from 3-point range for 18 points with six rebounds, six assists and one steal Tuesday against the Nets.
Insight: Kidd is shooting better than ever before from long distance, making 38-of-72 (.528) from behind the arc. His career best is .425, set in 2009-10 with Dallas.

12/4/2012 11:40:00 AM
Description: Knicks guard Jason Kidd is probable for Wednesday's game after practicing on Tuesday, according to Knicks reporter Alan Hahn. He's been out with an injured back.
Insight: Kidd is still a boxscore filler, just on a lower level than in past seasons, due to playing just 26 minutes per game. He's averaging 8.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.4 apg, 2.1 spg and 1.8 three-pointers.

11/29/2012 4:25:00 PM
Description: The New York Post reports Knicks guard Jason Kidd is out indefinitely with an injured back.
Insight: We assumed this was the case after a Newsday report surfaced Wednesday saying that Kidd could be "out a while." Look for Ronnie Brewer, Steve Novak and J.R. Smith to all see a bit more action while the veteran guard remains sidelined.

11/28/2012 8:10:00 PM
Description: Al Iannazzone from Newsday is hearing that Knicks guard Jason Kidd could be out "a while."
Insight: Kidd has been dealing with back spasms. J.R. Smith played 41 minutes in the veteran's absence Monday in Brooklyn and should be a solid fantasy contributor while Kidd is out.
