Zach Mettenberger, QB, TEN10/22/2014 10:57:00 PM
Description: The Nashville Tennessean reports the Titans will start sixth-round rookie Zach Mettenberger at quarterback against the Texans in Week 8. Insight: Coach Ken Whisenhunt has officially given up on the season. Jake Locker is in a contract year, and he is too injury prone to commit to long-term. Charlie Whitehurst is not the answer at quarterback either. So Whisenhunt is getting a look at the rookie from LSU.
Nate Washington, WR, TEN10/22/2014 9:27:00 PM
Description: NFL Network\'s Ian Rapoport reports teams have been calling the Titans about Nate Washington. Insight: This likely just means the Titans would like to trade their wide receiver. Justin Hunter is the team\'s new No. 2 WR, and Washington is taking up cap and roster space. It is unlikely that Tennessee gets anyone to bite on his 4.8 million base salary since he can\'t even earn a starting role on the Titans.

Dan Haren, SP, LOS10/22/2014 5:50:00 PM
Description: Dodgers starter Dan Haren underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder Wednesday afternoon according to the Los Angeles Times. Insight: Haren is still right-handed, so the surgery is considered minor. He is expected to be ready for spring training. Haren had a 2.09 ERA in his final seven starts of 2014.
Michael Morse, LF, SFG10/22/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Giants outfielder Michael Morse will again be the team\'s designated hitter in Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday. Insight: Giants manager Bruce Bochy is sticking with the same lineup from Game 1. Morse had an RBI-single in the fourth to help the Giants score seven runs on Tuesday.

 Carmelo Anthony, F, NYK10/22/2014 11:19:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had a huge night on Wednesday in a preseason game against the Wizards. Insight: Anthony scored the game-winning jumper and received the foul. He scored 30 points and had three rebounds, three assists, three steals and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes. He shot 11-of-19 from the floor.
 Andre Drummond, C, DET10/22/2014 7:16:00 PM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond will be a fantasy beast besides for his free throw shooting. Insight: Drummond\'s Achilles heel will again be his free throw shooting. He shot just 41.8 percent from the stripe last season. And that was an improvement from 37.1 percent his rookie season. Drummond will contribute great numbers in every other stat.

 Sean Couturier, C, PHI10/22/2014 11:02:00 PM
Description: Flyers center Sean Couturier scored three points against the Penguins on Wednesday. Insight: Couturier assisted Pierre-Edouard Bellemare\'s goal in the first period and Matt Read\'s goal in the third period. Couturier then sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with less than 30 seconds left. The center was also plus-three.
 Ray Emery, G, PHI10/22/2014 10:52:00 PM
Description: Flyers goalie Ray Emery stopped 22 of 25 shots in a victory on Wednesday against the Penguins. Insight: Emery wasn\'t particularly good, but the Flyers controlled the puck for much of the game. Emery helped the Flyers penalty kill keep the top power-play unit of Pittsburgh scoreless on two tries. Steve Mason is still the starting goalie, but Emery might receive some more playing time moving forward. Keep an eye on this situation.
