What are the options for Martin owners?

Assuming Kevin Martin is out for two months, who steps up to take his minutes?
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Bad news for Sacramento fans and fantasy owners of Kevin Martin. It appears as if the superstar guard will have to choose between a cast and surgery on his broken left wrist. Either way, it's a six-to-eight week recovery period.

Fantasy owners were hoping that Martin would choose to play through the pain, but this early into the season that doesn't look like the way things will play out.

He's meeting with a local hand specialist today to make a determination.

Assuming Martin is on the sidelines for two months, Kings point guard Beno Udrih should see an increase in playing time with rookie Tyreke Evans moving to the shooting guard position.

But neither player is a direct replacement for the 30.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.6 apg that you are losing from the Martin injury. Udrih's best season was in 2007-08 when he averaged 12.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 4.3 apg in his first year with the Kings.

Evans is the gutsier play, because we all know how rookie performances can fluctuate. He's averaging 11.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 3.3 apg in 31 minutes of action. Though it's hard to see him playing a lot more minutes, there are about 22 shots-per-game available without Martin on the floor. Evans should increase from his current average of 12.6 shots-per-game to near 18 and his points total should also increase to about 16 ppg.

It's not Martin, but not bad. Evans is owned in less than 60% of all leagues, but by the end of the week, that's likely to be closer to 80%. Don't wait too long and be shut out on your best option.
