Insight: Jagr also had an assist, along with a -1 rating and two shots on goal. He now has four points on the season, and as long as he can stay healthy, Jagr will have an impact on the fantasy season.

Insight: He added an assist, and was +3 on the night with five shots on goal. Kessel is a top tier player, and is producing as one of the better players in the NHL, at the moment.

Description: Red Wings right wing Johan Franzen did not start on Saturday and has missed Monday's practice which makes him unlikly to be ready for Tuesday's game with Montreal.
Insight: When healthy, Franzen is a offensive force, as his five points in four games this season will atest, but keeping him healthy has been a problem lately. He played just 54 games last season.

Description: Capitals right winger Alex Ovechkin scored on his shootout attempt to seal a Washington victory on Saturday night.
Insight: Ovechkin was the third Capital to score in the shootout, and goalie Justin Peters stopped Panthers' Jossi Jokinen just prior to Ovechkin's score. Therefore, the victory was sealed. Ovechkin had two shots and seven hits in the game.

Description: Penguins right winger Patric Hornqvist scored two goals in Pittsburgh's, 3-1, victory over the Islanders on Saturday.
Insight: Hornqvist scored on a deflection off a slap shot from Evgeni Malkin on the power play. His second goal came was an empty-netter with less than two minutes left in the game. Hornqvist registered 12 shots on net and was minus-one. He also had an assist.

Description: Red Wings winger Justin Abdelkader is again on the top line for Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs.
Insight: Abdelkader has had a nice start to the season with two goals and two assists in four games. With the injury to Johan Franzen, Abdelkader will play next to Henrik Zetterberg and Gustav Nyquist on Saturday.

Insight: Franzen is out due to a thigh injury he suffered Friday night. Stephen Weiss takes his roster spot and will play left wing on the third line. Justin Abdelkader has moved up to the top line for Saturday's game.

Insight: It seemed to be a muscle cramp, and Franzen said that he will have a chance to play Saturday night. For now, consider him day-to-day.

Insight: He scored a goal and was +1 on the night, and now has five goals and seven points through five games. There is no reason to think that Perry is going to slow dowm, as it is looking like he is well on his way to a monster season.

Insight: He scored his first two goals of the season before departing. Losing Franzen for an extended period of time would be a big blow for the Wings.

Insight: Zero points and a minus two rating while playing on the top line doesn't cut it. Josh Jooris will replace Setoguchi alongside Jiri Hudler and Sean Monahan.

Insight: It was a solid game for Gallagher, as he recorded two goals and an assist, along with four shots on goal and a +2 rating. Owners need to keep tabs on him, if he is still on waiver wires.

Insight: The second goal was an empty net, power-play goal. Parenteau also had 5 shots on goal, but a -1 rating on the night. He is looking to get to the 30-goal mark, yet again.

Insight: He added an assist as well, and was +2 on the night. Eriksson, just like a bunch of the Bruins' forwards will be solid fantasy plays all season long.

Insight: San Jose won the game, 6-5, in the shootout. Ovechkin scored towards the end of the second period and then on the power play in the third as the Capitals rallied from two behind to earn a point. Ovechkin has four goals this season.

Insight: Both of Simmonds' points came on the power play, and his goal tied the game at two with less than three minutes left in the second period. Simmonds had five shots and two hits in the game as well.

Description: Bruins winger Loui Erksson scored in the 2-1 loss to the Avalanche on Columbus Day.
Insight: It was Eriksson's first goal of the season as he tied the game on the power play at the 7:50 mark of the second period. Boston, however, suffered a heart-breaking loss, allowing the game-winner inside of one second left in the third period.

Description: Avalanche winger Daniel Briere scored his 300th goal with less than a second remaining to lift Colorado, 2-1, over Boston on Monday.
Insight: Briere scored with 0.5 seconds left in the third period. It was nice to finally see Colorado score some goals as Minnesota shut them out twice to start the season. Jamie McGinn had the other Avalanche goal. Briere was plus-one with four shots on goal.

Insight: Kessel and linemates James van Riemsdyk and Tyler Bozak totaled three goals and four assists on the night. After his 80-point season of a year ago, much is expected from him including an improvement on his plus/minus rating which has yet to be in the plus in eight seasons.

Insight: Hornqvist also took a stunning nine shots. The 27-year-old scored a career-high 53 points last season, and we expect him exceed that total playing with Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby.

Insight: Semin used to be a 75-80 point a season guy in Washington and posted 44 points in 44 games back in 2012 for Carolina so we know he can still do it. The real question is can he stay healthy.

Insight: Setoguchi is expected to play on a line with Joe Colborne and Johnny Gaudreau. He's not the scorer he once was after recording 11 goals and 16 assists with the Jets last season.

Insight: Callahan was skating alongside Steven Stamkos and Ondrej Palat, taking the place of Tyler Johnson on the top line. Johnson was paired with Valteri Filppula and Alex Killorn. If Callahan skates with Stamkos and Palat in the game against the Senators on Saturday, then he must be in the lineup.

Insight: Boyle will be out for four-to-six weeks, so either St. Louis, Brassard or possibly both, will receive a fantasy boost playing the point on the man advantage.

Insight: Grabner's timetable is for a mid-November return. He was a 52-point scorer in 2010, but this will prevent him from getting anywhere near those totals. A 30-point season would be a realistic goal.

Description: Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane scored the game-winning goal in a shootout against the Stars on opening night.
Insight: Kane had an assist on Patrick Sharp's goal in the third period that tied the game with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation. Kane was Chicago's second shooter in the shootout and easily put his shot past Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen. Chicago won, 3-2.

Insight: He set up Justin Abdelkader and Gustav Nyquist, for both of their first goals of the season. If Franzen can stay healthy, he should be in line for a big season.

Description: Ducks winger Corey Perry registered his sixth-career hat trick as the Ducks lost to the Penguins, 6-4, on Thursday.
Insight: Perry took advantage of a Marc-Andre Fleury mishap to score his first goal. Fleury left his crease to play the puck and turned it over to Ducks' Patrick Maroon, who then found Perry wide open in front of the net. Perry also scored twice on the power play. Despite the three points, he finished with a minus-one rating.

Description: Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds shined on the power play Thursday night against New Jersey.
Insight: He had two goals on the power play, and added an assist on Vincent Lecavalier's third period goal. Simmonds has been an animal on the power play, dating back to last season. Look for that to continue. Lecavalier finished the night with the one goal and one assist, along with three shots and a -1 rating.

Description: Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson scored a goal on three shots in over 15 minutes of ice time against the Sabres on Thursday.
Insight: Atkinson scored his goal on the power play at the 12:45 mark of the third period to put the Blue Jackets ahead, 2-1. He spent over three and a half minutes on the power play Thursday. Columbus tacked on another goal and won, 3-1.

Insight: He had one goal and two assists, along with a +2 rating on the night, against the Flyers. Ryder is three seasons removed from his last 30-goal campaign, but is off to solid start in 2014-15.

Description: Devils right wing Jaromir Jagr records assist to move into sixth place as the NHL's all-time leading scorer.
Insight: It was his 1,756th career point, on a helper to Mike Cammelleri's first goal of the night. Jagr added a second assist if he can stay healthy, he should be around the 65-point mark. Both of Jagr's assists were to Cammalleri.

Description: Maple Leafs right winger Phil Kessel finished with two shots on goal and a minus-two rating on opening night against the Canadiens.
Insight: Not exactly the way Kessel was hoping to start the season. Toronto tied the game at the 17:41 mark of the third period only to allow the game-winning goal inside of one minute left in regulation. Kessel had 20 minutes and 31 seconds of ice time, including three minutes and three seconds on the power play.
