Description: Left wing Clarke MacArthur and the Senators have come to terms on a five-year extension.
Insight: MacArthur went on to tell the Ottawa Sun that he will not change the way he plays the game. "Just because I've got a five-year deal, that doesn't mean I need to change a whole lot. I kind of want to play the same game. I want to play good in both ends." MacArthur had 24 goals and 31 assists in his first season in Ottawa last year.

Description: San Jose winger Raffi Torres will miss the first few months of the season because of an infection he developed after surgery to his right knee according to David Pollack of Mercury News.
Insight: Torres had another surgery on his knee due to the infection. He missed most of last season while recovering from a torn ACL.
