Description: Ducks goalie John Gibson will start on Friday against the Blue Jackets according to the Orange County Register.
Insight: Gibson started opening night and allowed six goals to the Penguins. Frederik Andersen took over in net and has won his last six starts. During that time, Gibson asked to be sent to the minors to get a few starts to stay fresh, so we do not expect him to at all be rusty on Friday.

Description: Anaheim Ducks winger Matt Beleskey has three goals in his last three games
Insight: Beleskey is playing on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry and fantasy owners should take advantage of this opportunity because it won't last long. on. Dany Heatley could return in about a week and re-take his spot on the top line.
Patrick Maroon, LW10/16/2014 2:40:00 PM
Description: Winger Patrick Maroon is expected to miss four weeks due to a sprained MCL.

Description: Anaheim Ducks winger Matt Beleskey will play on the top line ... temporarily.
Insight: Beleskey is only there because of injuries to Dany Heatley and Patrick Maroon. It could give a short-term boost, but don't overvalue him in the long-term.

Description: Anaheim defenseman Sami Vatanen ran the point on the potent Ducks power play on Thursday night.
Insight: The Ducks scored three times on the power play against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Vatanen earned assists on two of them. Anaheim went with four forwards and just Vatanen as the one defenseman on the man advantage. Vatanen's fantasy value is through the roof if he remains with this unit.
Ryan Kesler, C10/9/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Ducks center Ryan Kesler had two assists in his Anaheim debut in Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Insight: Kesler played over four minutes on the power play, which is certainly encouraging for his fantasy owners. Both of his assists came with the man advantage. Kesler's fantasy value greatly rises if he can continue to play with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry on the power play.

Description: Winger Patrick Maroon is practicing on the first line with center Ryan Getzlaf and winger Corey Perry.
Insight: Maroon is taking the place of the injured Dany Heatley, who is out with a groin injury. Maroon is a player worth keeping an eye on because there is no timetable for Heatley's return. If Maroon plays well, he may even stay on the first line when Heatley does return.
Saku Koivu, C9/20/2014 2:05:00 PM
Description: Ducks center Saku Koivu retired last week ending his career after 18 seasons with Montreal and Anaheim.

Kyle Palmieri, C9/20/2014 1:58:00 PM
Description: Ducks right wing Kyle Palmieri suffered a high ankle sprain to his right leg and is expected to miss about two weeks.
