Description: Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward continues to be a box score filler.
Insight: Hayward scored a team-high 24 points, and added three assists, four rebounds and three steals. We don't like that he's averaging 5.3 turnovers over the past three games, but he's still a nice fantasy option.
Description: Portland shooting guard/small forward Dorell Wright made the best of the opportunity of the absence of starter Nicolas Batum Saturday night.
Insight: Allen Crabbe started, but didn't take a shot on pull down a rebound in his shot time on the floor. Wright and Will Barton each played 20-plus minutes with Wright having the bigger impact (10 points, six rebounds, three assists).
Description: Allen Crabbe made the start at small forward Saturday night for the injured Nicolas Batum, but played just seven minutes and showed no signs of fantasy value.
Insight: Crabbe didn't take a shot or pull down a rebound in his short time on the floor. Dorell Wright and Will Barton each played 20-plus minutes with Wright having the bigger impact (10 points, six rebounds, three assists).
Description: Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge (thumb) went from expected to missd 6-8 weeks back to fantasy stud in a blink of an eye.
Insight: Aldridge decided to delay surgery on his left thumb for the good of the team and racked up a team-high 26 points on 9-for-22 shooting. He also hauled down nine rebounds and didn't seem to injury the thumb any further by playing. It appears it will be all about pain management and as long as he's out there he's a must-start.
Description: Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph recorded a double-double during Saturday's victory against the 76ers.
Insight: Randolph had 17 points and 14 rebounds in the, 101-83, victory. He was 8-of-11 from the field with four assists.Randolph is playing out of his mind right now with 18.4 ppg and 13.8 rpg in the last five games, which keeps him as a top sell-high candidate at the moment.
Description: Rookie Jerami Grant came off the bench and led the 76ers in scoring on Saturday.
Insight: It was a bad offensive game for Philadelphia, so Grant had just 16 points. Still, the 76ers have been waiting for the rookie from Syracuse to break out. He was 5-of-10 with two 3-pointers from the field. Unfortunately, he did nothing else and shot just 50 percent from the line.
Description: Pistons forward Greg Monroe had eight points and 16 rebounds versus the Bucks.
Insight: Detroit lost Brandon Jennings during the game, which contributed to Milwaukee's 15-point victory. Monroe, however, continues to be one of the best rebounders in the league. He is averaging 13.4 boards per game over the last five contests.
Description: Knicks forward Lance Thomas played 41 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday and scored 16 points.
Insight: Thomas led the game in minutes and was 7-of-14 from the field. With Carmelo Anthony expected to be shutdown at some point this spring, Thomas is an intriguing fantasy add. He also had eight rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block.
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will not play on Saturday versus the Hornets.
Insight: Anthony played 42 minutes on Friday, so the team wants him to rest. Anthony took 24 shots in each of the last two games, so there are quite a bit of chances available for other players on Saturday.
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap continued his quest for his first all-star bid during Friday's win against the Thunder.
Insight: He had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Millsap shot 9-of-17 from the fiel, 2-of-2 from the line, and 2-of-3 from downtown, and also managed three assists, two steals, two blocks, and four turnovers.
Description: Trail Blazers small forward Nicolas Batum is out for Saturday's game versus the Wizards.
Insight: This is no surprise as Batum is still dealing with his wrist injury. There is no one player that will fill the void left by Batum, so fantasy owners will have to look outside of Portland to find a fantasy replacement for Saturday.
Description: Trail Blazers small forward Nicolas Batum is questionable for Saturday's game against Washington due to a sprained right wrist.
Insight: Just when he appeared ready to bust out, particularly with LaMarcus Aldridge sidelined for up to two months, Batum hit's a speed bump. After scoring 27 on Wednesday, Batum shot 0-for-6 from the field Thursday and was held scoreless in 22 minutes against Boston.
Description: Lakers guard/forward Nick Young is probable for Friday's game against San Antonio while dealing with a sprained right thumb.
Insight: Young has never met a shot he didn't like and with Kobe Bryant sidelined he should pick up a lot of the workload at the offensive end. He's averaging 17.5 ppg over his last four contests, but doesn't offer much other than scopring for fantasy owners.
Description: Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried missed Thursday's practice due to illness and should be considered questionable for Friday's game against Boston
Insight: Faried scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in his last outing, but has been inconsistent this season, averaging 11.9 ppg and 9.0 rpg. As an example, his scoring output in his last five games is: 22, 11, 6, 7, 26.
Description: Jazz power forward Derrick Favors will not play on Thursday versus the Bucks due to personal reasons according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
Insight: All the team has said is Favors will not travel to Milwaukee with the team for "personal reasons." Rudy Gobert will likely draw the start and is a great option for blocks and rebounds on Thursday. The Jazz are 0-3 without Favors this season.
Description: Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge has a cast on his thumb and is receiving another MRI Thursday according to The Sporting News.
Insight: Aldridge did not get a reading on his first MRI because of swelling, so he needs another one. The cast, however, cannot be great. It would be a huge surprise to see Aldridge in the lineup on Thursday.
Description: Trail Blazers small forward Nicolas Batum led Portland with 27 points in the loss to Phoenix on Wednesday.
Insight: Batum sunk an incredible six 3-pointers and grabbed 10 rebounds. He also had five assists and a block. As long as LaMarcus Aldridge is out, Batum has potential to have games like this, but he will likely not make six 3-pointers in a game again. Plus, once Aldridge returns, Batum returns to a much small fantasy contributor.
Description: Thunder small forward Kevin Durant scored 34 points to lead Oklahoma City over Washington, 105-103, in overtime.
Insight: Durant was 10-of-23 from, hitting 40 percent from the 3-point line. He was also 10-for-11 at the line with seven rebounds, three assists and a block. Durant continues to be a top-fantasy option averaging 25.5 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 3.9 apg with a 53.0 shooting percentage this season.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will start on Wednesday against the Lakers according to Jen Hale of FOX Sports.
Insight: Davis has missed a couple games with a toe injury, but it is not considered serious. The Pelicans have just been very cautious with him and could remain so the rest of the season. When he is in the lineup, though, Davis must be in the fantasy lineup.
Description: Cavaliers forward LeBron James will play on Wednesday despite an illness.
Insight: James missed Tuesday's practice but participated in the team's shootaround on Wednesday according to the Akron Beach Journal. James has averaged 31.8 ppg since returning from his knee and back issues, so he is a must-start. As if owners needed another reason to start King James.
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire will play Wednesday against the 76ers.
Insight: Stoudemire will probably come off the bench and play around 20 minutes. Stoudemire is averaging 12.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.1 bpg, but can't be counted in daily leagues because his knees are a reliability.
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony said his knee was feeling good and that he will play versus the 76ers on Wednesday according to ESPN New York.
Insight: Anthony did admit he probably won't be able to handle back-to-back games, but that won't happen for the Knicks until Jan. 28-29. Fantasy owners probably don't have to worry until then, and Anthony should be in every fantasy lineup.
Description: Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard has been very impressive since his return to the court.
Insight: Leonard has played the last three games and had his best one on Tuesday where he had 17 points and 15 rebounds versus the Nuggets. Leonard made 3-of-6 3-pointers and also had three assists, two steals and a block. He has become the most important player for the Spurs and is likely also very important for fantasy teams.
Description: Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge left Monday night's game with a left thumb injury and has already been ruled out for Wednesday.
Insight: X-rays were negative, but he will not go with the team to Phoenix, instead he'll see a hand specialist. This is a huge blow for fantasy owners who cann't replace his 23.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.2 bpg. Thomas Tobinson would see more time, but he hasn't shown much fantasy value to date.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game against the LA Lakers.
Insight: Davis is a franchise player (24.2 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg, 2.9 bpg) so New Orleans has been taking all precautions to protect their top asset, but it appears he's finally ready to go after missing the past three games.
Description: Lakers backup center Tarik Black (5.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg) suffered a sprained right ankle and is not expected to be available for Wednesday's game against New Orleans.
Insight: Black doesn't hold any fantasy value, but his 16 minutes per night could help Jordan Hill. Hill could see 35 minutes plus and that would make him a viable fantasy option as he already averages 12.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg.
Description: Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge left Monday night's game with a left thumb injury.
Insight: X-rays were negative, but he'll has additional tests Tuesday. This would be ahuge blow for fantasy owners who couldn't replace his 23.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.2 bpg. Thomas Tobinson would see more time, but he hasn't shown much fantasy value to date.
Description: After leading Toronto in scoring in each of his three games since his return from the groin injury, Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan shot 0-for-9 and missed his only free-throw attempt to finish with zero points versus the Bucks.
Insight: His only fantasy contribution was four assists and three rebounds. Despite the horrible game from DeRozan, Toronto still won, which might make fantasy owners wonder if DeRozan will continue to lead the team in shots. In his four games since his return, the two games DeRozan led the team in shot attempts, Toronto lost. In the two Kyle Lowry led the team in shots attempts, Toronto won.
Description: Cavaliers forward LeBron James continued his strong play on Monday versus the Bulls.
Insight: James told the media before Monday that the last three games are the best he has felt all season. He continued to play well on Monday with 26 points, five rebounds and four assists. James was 12-of-23 from the field.
Description: Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph recorded a double-double in the loss to Dallas on Monday.
Insight: Randolph had 18 points and 15 rebounds with two assists and a steal. Randolph seems to be over his knee injury, but based on his injury history, we wouldn't be surprised if the injury arises again.
Description: Pelicans G/F Tyreke Evans had 23 points, going 9-of-20 from the field versus the Knicks.
Insight: Without Anthony Davis again, Evans was the go-to offensive weapon for New Orleans, but the Pelicans did lose to the worst team in the league. Evans also had nine rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points to help snap the Knicks 16-game losing streak.
Insight: New York beat New Orleans, 99-92. Anthony was 7-of-15, hitting three 3-pointers in the game. He also had nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal. Anthony will continue to be a top fantasy option as long as he is playing.
Description: Clipper power forward Blake Griffin led Los Angeles with 22 points and nine rebounds on Monday.
Insight: Griffin also had six assists and a steal. He shot 9-of-18 from the field and went 4-for-4 at the line. Griffin is averaging about 23.0 ppg with over 7.5 rpg and shooting nearly 50 percent from the field.
Description: Hawks forward Mike Scott came off the bench and scored 20 points on Monday.
Insight: The 20 points ties a season-high for Scott, which he previously set on opening night of the season. Scott was 9-of-15, including 2-for-6 from the 3-point line. Atlanta's starters, however, dominant the score sheet night in and night out, so it's hard to count on a guy like Scott for consistent fantasy production.
Description: Pistons forward Greg Monroe had a monster game on Monday with 16 points and 20 rebounds versus the Hawks.
Insight: Monroe was 5-of-11 from the field and 6-for-6 at the line. He also had two assists, a steal and a block. In leagues that count turnovers and fouls, however, Monroe turned it over six times and committed four fouls.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis has been down graded to out for Monday's game against New York.
Insight: The injury is not thought to be serious, but Davis is a franchise player (24.2 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg, 2.9 bpg) so New Orleans will take all necessary precautions to protect their top asset. Ryan Anderson will get another start.
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire is questionable for Monday's game against New Orleans.
Insight: Stoudemire is averaging 12.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.1 bpg, but can't be counted on to play every day. He managed just eight minutes in London, so even if active he shouldn't be started by fantasy owners.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis is questionable for Monday's game against New York.
Insight: The injury is not thought to be serious, but Davis is a franchise player (24.2 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg, 2.9 bpg) so New Orleans will take all necessary precautions to protect their top asset. Ryan Anderson would get a start. Obviously if Davis plays he's a must start.
Description: Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love did not play Friday versus the Clippers and is questionable for Monday's game against Chicago.
Insight: Love has been dealing with some tough back spasms, so Cleveland will elect to hold him out on Friday and we are still waiting to hear about his Monday availability.Tristan Thompson started Friday and posted 24 points and 12 rebounds in his absence.
Description: Thunder small forward Kevin Durant nearly posted a triple-double during Sunday's victory against the Magic.
Insight: He probably would have gotten it if Oklahoma City hadn't won by 28 points. Durant played just 28 minutes, going 7-of-10 from the field and 7-of-7 from the line for 21 points, 11 boards, eight assists, one steal, one block, and three turnovers.
Description: Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan led Toronto managed a team-high 22 points during Sunday's loss against the Pelicans.
Insight: He shot just 7-of-18 from the field, but did go 7-of-9 from the stripe. DeRozan also chipped in three boards, one assist, one 3-pointer, one steal, and one turnover. Owners need to make sure he is back in all lineups.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis did not suit up versus the 76ers on Friday due to a toe injury and has just been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against Toronto.
Insight: The injury is not thought to be serious, but Davis is a franchise player (24.2 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg, 2.9 bpg) so New Orleans will take all necessary precautions to protect their top asset. Ryan Anderson should get a start.
Description: Magic small forward Tobias Harris, out for Friday's game (ankle) will miss Sunday's game against Oklahoma City as well.
Insight: Harris has already missed missed four straight games which is more than originally expected. He is averaging 18.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.1 spg. Devyn Marble has been getting his minutes, but not doing much with it.
Description: Spurs power forward Tim Duncan has posted three consecutive double-doubles.
Insight: Duncan moved into fifth place on the all-time double-doubles list, passing Karl Malone on Tuesday, and he added to it on Wednesday. Duncan isn't scoring much of late. He hasn't cracked the 15-point mark in seven games, but at least he's still crashing the boards.
Description: Magic small forward Tobias Harris, out for Friday's game (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against Oklahoma City.
Insight: Harris has missed missed four straight games which is more than originally expected. He is averaging 18.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.1 spg. Devyn Marble has been getting his minutes, but not doing much with it.
Description: Thunder small forward Kevin Durant has been on target the past three games shooting a stunning 70 percent from the field (36-of-51).
Insight: Durant appears to be back in MVP form and should be started in all leagues. For the season he's averaging 24.9 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.4 apg, all down from last season's averages, but he looks like he's ready to bring those numbers back to last season's level.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis did not suit up versus the 76ers on Friday due to a tow injury and is questionable for Sunday's game against Toronto.
Insight: A lot of teams rest players against the Sixers, though it backfired on the Pelicans this time. The injury is not thought to be serious, but Davis is a franchise player (24.2 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.5 spg, 2.9 bpg) so New Orleans will take all necessary precautions to protect their top asset.
Description: Hawks shooting guard Kyle Korver knocked down seven 3-pointers during Saturday's victory against the Bulls.
Insight: Those were all of the field goals Korver made on the night, as he went 7-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-3 from the line for a team-high 24 points. Korver is arguably having the best season of his career.
Description: Kings small forward Rudy Gay is questionable for Saturday's game versus the Clippers.
Insight: The Kings called up Quincy Miller for this game, so that probably means Gay has little chance to play. He missed Friday's game with a left knee capsule injury, and there is a chance he misses even more games besides Saturday.
Description: Cavaliers forward LeBron James had a second straight big night at the Staples Center.
Insight: The schedule had the Cavaliers play the Lakers and then the Clippers on back-to-back nights at the Staples Center, and Cleveland won both games. James scored 32 points with 11 rebounds and seven assists versus the Clippers. It's worth noting that Kevin Love did not play, and when Love isn't on the floor, James' fantasy value is much higher.
That's two big games in a row since returning from injury. He's averaged 34.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5..0 apg against Phoenix and the Lakers. Perhaps that eight-game break (knee, back) will turn out to be a blessing.
Description: Clipper power forward Blake Griffin led Los Angeles with 34 points and 10 rebounds versus the Cavaliers on Friday.
Insight: It was Griffin's 10th double-double of the season. Interestingly, Griffin has reached double figures in scoring every single game this season. He is averaging 22.9 ppg and 7.6 rpg this season.
Description: Lakers guard/forward Nick Young came off the bench and scored 23 points to lead the Lakers in scoring on Friday.
Insight: Young only took nine shots, making four of them, but he hit 13-of-13 from the free-throw line. Young didn't do much else with just two rebounds, however, anyone who rolled the dice with him on Friday should be very happy with his points and free throw percentage.
Description: Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward scored 31 points in Utah's, 94-85, victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Friday.
Insight: Hayward was 12-for-18 from the field and made four 3-pointers. He also had seven assists, three rebounds, a steal and a block. Hayward is having a breakout season with averages of 19.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and 4.1 apg.
Description: Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki led the team with 25 points in the, 97-89, victory over the Nuggets Friday.
Insight: Nowitzki was 8-of-18 from the field, but an incredible 4-for-5 from the 3-point line. He also was 5-for-5 at the line and grabbed nine rebounds. Nowitzki is certainly closer to the end of his career than the beginning, but he is still putting up solid numbers this season: 18.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 46.3 shooting percentage.
Description: Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard scored 20 points in 31 minutes in his return to the lineup on Friday.
Insight: What a boost for the Spurs and fantasy owners. The Spurs said Leonard would not be limited, and he was not, making 8-of-18 shots. He also had five assists, four rebounds and three steals. It's safe to plug him back into the lineup.
Description: Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love is not playing on Friday versus the Clippers.
Insight: Love has been dealing with some tough back spasms, so Cleveland will elect to hold him out on Friday. Tristan Thompson is going to start, but LeBron James and Kyrie Irving owners will reap the most benefits.
Description: Grizzlies fans are getting to know small forward Jeff Green.
Insight: In just his second game with Memphis, Green came off the bench and led the Grizzlies with 21 points. He shot 8-of-18 from the field and made all five free-throw attempts. Green had five rebounds as well.
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap turned in another solid fantasy night as Atlanta won its 11th straight game on Friday.
Insight: Millsap scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He also added four assists, three steals and two blocks. He was just 6-of-9 from the field so very efficient. Millsap is just behind Jeff Teague for the team lead in scoring and leads the team in rebounding.
Description: Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan led Toronto in scoring again with 25 points on Friday.
Insight: DeRozan has played two games since returning from his injury, and he has led the Raptors in scoring both nights. He was 11-of-18 from the field Friday. Besides scoring, however, DeRozan doesn't supply much else for fantasy owners. He had three rebounds, two assists and two steals versus the Hawks.
Description: Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will not suit up versus the 76ers on Friday.
Insight: It is too bad because a matchup versus the 76ers is a dream for fantasy owners. He had 34 points on Wednesday but suffered a toe injury late in the game. There is a chance Davis returns for Sunday's matchup versus the Raptors.
Description: Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki did not play on Wednesday, but is expected back in the lineup for Friday's game against Denver.
Insight: Tyson Chandler will also return from a rest day. Nowitzki's scoring is down because he is surrounded by more talent this season. That's good for the Mavericks, but not as good for Dirk's fantasy owners. He's cracked the 20-points mark just once the last seven games.
Description: Pelicans G/F Tyreke Evans expects to start at the point Friday against the Sixers, according to John Reid of the Times-Picayune.
Insight: Jrue Holiday is dealing with an ankle issue and New Orleans figures to be able to win this one without him. Evans is averaging 16.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 5.4 apg this season, his second with the Pelicans.
Description: Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love's fantasy owners can't be happy with what's going on in Cleveland.
Insight: In the two games since LeBron James returned and with the additions of Timofrey Mozgov, J.R. Smith, Love has taken the fourth-most shots in both games. James, Smith and Kyrie Irving are getting more shots off and that's not good for Love owners who may be forced to "sell low" or deal with the situation for the remainder of the season.
Description: Cavaliers forward LeBron James came up big Thursday, rocking the Forum for 36 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Insight: That's two big games in a row since returning from injury. He's averaged 34.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5..0 apg against Phoenix and the Lakers. Perhaps that eight-game break (knee, back) will turn out to be a blessing.
Description: Rockets small forward Trevor Ariza had 17 points in the, 112-101, victory against the Thunder.
Insight: Ariza made three 3-pointers and had four assists, four steals and two rebounds. He continues to be an intriguing fantasy player with the ability to make 3-pointers and guards like James Harden and Patrick Beverley being able to drive and dish.
Description: Thunder small forward Kevin Durant had a nice game versus the Rockets on Thursday.
Insight: Former teammate James Harden overshadowed last season's MVP with nearly recording a triple-double, but Durant had 24 points, going 4-for-6 from the 3-point line, and 10 rebounds. Durant is a must-start.
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 25 points on Thursday.
Insight: Anthony put on quite a display for the London faithful at O2 Arena, but three other Knicks starters didn't score a single point. New York started the game 0-for-10 and fell behind Milwaukee, 14-0. Anthony was 7-of-12 from the field, 10-for-12 at the line with three rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block.
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire had been targeting a Jan 15 return and will make his return against Milwaukee, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday.
Insight: Stoudemire is averaging 13.1 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.1 bpg, but can't be counted on to play every day. The Knicks know that too and apparently are thinking about buying out his contract. Carmelo Anthony will be in Thursday's lineup as well.
Description: Magic small forward Tobias Harris has already been declared out for Friday's game against Memphis (ankle).
Insight: Harris, who will have missed missed four straight games, is averaging 18.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.1 spg and has become a viable fantasy option. His numbers have increased every season in the NBA.
Description: Hawks power forward Paul Millsap look well rested and recorded a double-double on Wednesday.
Insight: Atlanta rested Millsap on Tuesday, but he returned to the court versus the Celtics. Millsap scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory over the Celtics. Millsap was 5-of-10 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 at the line. He also had three assists, two steals and two blocks.
Description: Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan led the team with 20 points in his return to the court on Wednesday.
Insight: So much for being limited. DeRozan started, played 29 minutes and led the team in scoring. DeRozan was 9-of-14 shooting with four rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. If owners haven't done so already, they are going to want to move DeRozan out of the IR spot and back into the lineup.
Description: Nets center Mason Plumlee led Brooklyn with 15 points in the loss on Wednesday.
Insight: Brooklyn is really struggling to score points this month and have lost six straight games. Plumlee has become the team's best player especially if Kevin Garnett is not playing. Plumlee finished 7-of-9 with nine rebounds on Wednesday.
Description: According to head coach Dwane Casey, Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan (groin) is expected to return to the lineup on Wednesday or Friday.
Insight: He will likely be eased back into action, but will definitely reclaim his starting role, once he is a full-go. DeRozan's return will diminish the value of Terrence Rossm James Johnson, and possibly Lou Williams.
Description: Memphis' newly-acquired forward Jeff Green missed Tuesday's practice while getting his physical, but should be ready to go Wednesday against Brooklyn.
Insight: Green's role in Memphis is to be determined, but he won't be one of the top options as he was in Boston. He'll certainly be behind Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley so his numbers should take a hit.
Description: Bulls forward Mike Dunleavy is out for FMonay's game against Orlando due to a sprained right ankle.
Insight: Dunleavy has already missed the last four games. Nikola Mirotic was seeing his minutes, but has disappointed and his minutes have been cut back to about 13-14 per game. Tony Snell started and played 32 minutes, but produced just two points, six rebounds and two assists. That won't work.
Description: Trail Blazers small forward Nicolas Batum is obviously over his sprained right wrist and back to being a multi-category contributor.
Insight: Batum posted 11 points, his first double-digit effort in four games, along with nine rebounds and six assists. The only upsetting part of his game is that even Chris Kaman is getting more shot attempts than Batum. We like it better when he's the fourth option, not the fifth.
Description: Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love posted an impressive double-double Sunday night with 25 points, 10 rebounds three assists a steal and a block.
Insight: Frankly, with LeBron James out of the lineup fantasy owners are expecting more, but the arrival of Timofrey Mozgov looks like it will eat into Love's rebounding total and J.R. Smith into his shot total.
Description: Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph had 27 points and 17 rebounds in the double overtime victory over the Suns on Sunday.
Insight: Unfortunately, Randolph couldn't finish the game because he fouled out, so his teammates had to pick up the slack. Randolph was 11-of-16 from the field before his exit and also chipped in four assists.
Description: Clipper power forward Blake Griffin scored 26 points on Sunday.
Insight: Griffin was 10-of-19 from the field and 5-for-7 at the line. He also had six rebounds and three assists. Griffin has been scoring a lot lately. He has at least 22 points scored in each of the last four games.
Description: Hawks shooting guard Kyle Korver hit five 3-pointers to lead the Hawks in scoring on Sunday.
Insight: Korver scored 19 points, going 6-of-8 from the field overall. He also had four assists, three rebounds and a steal. Korver will give owners great 3-pointer numbers most nights, but you know what they say: live by the three, die by the three.
Description: Jazz power forward Derrick Favors had a noticable limp during Saturday's game, according to a Salt Lake Tribune report.
Insight: it looks like he can play through it, but no at a peak level. He played just 18 minutes against Houston, scoring 15 and pulling down seven rebounds. Fantasy owners can keep starting him, but he may be limited for a couple of games.
Description: Magic small forward Tobias Harris is questionable for Monday's game against Chicago after spraining an ankle.
Insight: He didn't dress for Saturday and Devyn Marble got the start, but did nothing with the opportunity. Harris is averaging 18.0 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.1 spg and has become a viable fantasy option. His numbers have increased every season in the NBA.
Description: Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion should be considered doubtful for Sunday versus Sacramento.
Insight: Marion said the way his hip feels now, he won't play, according to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal. Marion is only averaging 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds this season. If he's out J.R. Smith and James Jones should see more time.
Description: Spurs forward Austin Daye led San Antonio with 22 points on Saturday.
Insight: Daye started on Saturday, which was his first extensive game action in about a month, and he shot 8-of-13, including 4-for-8 from the 3-point line. Daye also had 10 rebounds. Fantasy owners still need to see this more often in order to consider Daye fantasy relevant.
Description: Rockets forward Donatas Motiejunas had a double-double on Saturday against the Jazz.
Insight: Motiejunas had 14 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 6-of-6 from the field and made a 3-pointer. Motiejunas took advantage of an off night from Dwight Howard, so fantasy owners shouldn't count on this happening very often.
