Kevin Love, F1/25/2014 9:27:00 AM
Description: Minnesota power forward Kevin Love filled up the stat sheet with 26 points, 14 boards and eight assists Friday against Golden State.
Insight: Would you look at that? The Wolves have won three straight. Love has been surprisingly pass-happy during that stretch, averaging seven assists per game. He's been up to his usual tricks on the boards with five straight games with double-digit rebounds. The 25-year-old is headed to his third All-Star Game in a few weeks.
Alexey Shved, G1/24/2014 9:36:00 PM

Corey Brewer, F1/22/2014 12:53:00 PM

Insight: Brewer has started all 41 games and played 32 minutes per game for the Wolves this season but he's only averaging 11.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists. His only above-average fantasy contribution is his 1.6 steals per game.
Kevin Martin, G1/22/2014 9:14:00 AM
Description: Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin suffered a laceration to his right pinky finger during Tuesday's game, but the finger isn't broken and didn't require stitches. SOURCE: foxsportsnorth.com
Insight: Martin's finger was bleeding badly and caused a delay in the game to clean the blood off the court. Minnesota doesn't play again until Friday so unless the finger swells up he shouldn't have to miss any time.
Alexey Shved, G1/21/2014 10:50:00 PM

Insight: Shved has been inconsistent this season ... to be kind. He's shooting just 32 percent from the field and averaging half what he did last season.

Description: T-Wolves center Nikola Pekovic notched 27 points Saturday in a blowout win over Utah.

Description: Wolves center Nikola Pekovic dropped 26 points on the Bobcats Friday night in Minnesota.
Insight: And he did it in just 27 minutes of court time. Pekovic must really like January. Since the start of the month, he's averaged 22.4 ppg on 54.4 percent shooting. He's averaged ten boards per game over that span.
Kevin Love, F1/10/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: Minnesota power forward Kevin Love turned in a complete effort Friday against Charlotte.

Insight: Mbah a Moute suffered the injury during last Wednesday's game. The 27-year-old is averaging just 4.2 points and 3.3 rebounds this season. As long as starters Corey Brewer and Kevin Love are healthy he has no fantasy value.
Chase Budinger, F1/8/2014 8:37:00 PM
Description: Wolves forward Chase Budinger has been activated for Wednesday's game against Phoenix. SOURCE: Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo Sports
Insight: Budinger missed Minnesota's first 34 games while recovering from a torn meniscus. He's going to be eased back into action so don't expect anything fantasy-worthy in the early going.
Luc Mbah a Moute, F1/8/2014 1:12:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves forward Luc Mbah a Moute (groin) will miss a third straight game Wednesday night, according to Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune.
Insight: Mbah a Moute suffered the injury during last Wednesday's game. The 27-year-old is averaging just 4.2 points and 3.3 rebounds this season. As long as starters Corey Brewer and Kevin Love are healthy he has no fantasy value, and he'll be even less useful when Chase Budinger returns.

Nikola Pekovic, CHot1/6/2014 9:15:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic had 16 points and 14 rebounds in just 23 minutes Monday at Philadelphia.
Insight: Minnesota was up 70-54 at the half and 105-74 after three quarters, so none of its starters played more than 29 minutes. Over his last 24 games, Pekovic has averaged 20 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Chase Budinger, F1/6/2014 10:17:00 AM
Description: Minnesota SF Chase Budinger is almost ready to return after his latest full court workout.
Insight: After two knee surgeries, the team is being conservative, but once back he could beat out Corey Brewer for the starting SF role. He's been a consistence 9.4 ppg scorer over his first four seasons which won't get him onto many fantasy rosters even when healthy.
Ronny Turiaf, C1/6/2014 10:14:00 AM
Description: Minnesota PF/C Ronny Turiaf (elbow) has been involved in some limited full contact work and may be back soon.
Insight: Turiaf doesn't provide much for fantasy owners. He's not a scorer, doesn't rebound much and provides the occasional block, but needless to say, he won't be a fantasy option in 2014.

Corey Brewer, F1/1/2014 10:25:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves forward Corey Brewer had five points, five rebounds, four assists, four steals and one block Wednesday against New Orleans.
Insight: Brewer has limited fantasy appeal because he doesn't rebound much despite being 6-foot-9, doesn't contribute assists and is a pitiful 3-point shooter. He does have 1.7 steals per game, but that's his only top fantasy skill.

Description: Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio had a full statline with 14 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer Wednesday against the Pelicans.
Insight: Rubio is only averaging 8.9 ppg on 35.3 percent shooting this season but he still has top-50 fantasy value due to his assists (8.3 apg), rebounds (4.7 rpg), steals (2.8 spg) and free-throw percentage (.854).
Kevin Love, FHot12/30/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Wolves forward Kevin Love led all scorers with 36 points Monday in a loss to Dallas.

Description: Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic was excellent in Sunday's loss to the Clippers.
Insight: It was Pekovic's best game of the season. The 34 points he piled on were a career-high while the 14 rebounds he tallied were his most in a game this season. Pekovic, who is averaging 12.4 ppg and 6.6 rpg for his career, has been a 20/10 player this month.
Kevin Love, FHot12/23/2013 9:32:00 AM
Description: Wolves forward Kevin Love exploded for 45 points, 19 rebounds and six assists Sunday in an overtime loss to the Clippers.
Insight: Love has been unreal this month. He's averaging 29.6 ppg and 14.1 rpg since the start of December. His 4.2 apg this season represents a new career-high. The Timberwolves are off for Christmas so Love won't be back on the court until Friday versus the Wizards.
Ricky Rubio, G12/20/2013 9:36:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio (illness) will try to play Friday against the Lakers, according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com.
Insight: Rubio has shot just 7-of-32 (.219) over his last three games and 35.2 percent for the season. He's still worth owning in all leagues because he's putting up 7.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game, but he certainly has more value in non-percentage leagues. As for tonight, he has a good matchup with Los Angeles down to their fifth-string point guard.
Ricky Rubio, G12/20/2013 5:35:00 PM
Description: Minnesota guard Ricky Rubio is questionable for Friday's game due to an illness.
Kevin Love, FHot12/19/2013 9:51:00 AM
Description: Minnesota power forward Kevin Love needed one more assist for a triple-double Wednesday in a win against Portland.
Insight: Love netted 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting while also contributing 15 rebounds. He's only scored fewer than 26 points once in the month of December. The 25-year-old is the closest thing there is to a guaranteed double-double.
Nikola Pekovic, C12/18/2013 10:36:00 PM
Description: Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic dominated the Trail Blazers for 30 points on 14-of-19 shooting Wednesday.
Insight: Pekovic has scored in double figures in 25 of 26 games this season and is averaging 16.6 points and 8.7 boards per game. As usual, however, he's offering very few blocks and steals.

Kevin Love, F12/16/2013 10:34:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves forward Kevin Love didn't have the greatest shooting night Monday against Boston (just 9-of-26) but was still able to score 27 points in 36 minutes.
Insight: Love, a 39.3 percent three-point shooter coming into this game, was just 2-for-11 from that distance on Monday. Brandon Bass and Kris Humphries both played solid defense on him throughout the game. Love (14 rebounds) should bounce back Wednesday versus Portland.
Kevin Martin, GCold12/16/2013 8:25:00 PM
Description: Updating a previous item, Wolves guard Kevin Martin won't play Monday against the Celtics. He's out with a knee injury. SOURCE: Timberwolves.com

Description: Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin will get the start Monday against Boston. SOURCE: Boston Globe
Insight: Martin has been nursing a knee injury but it hasn't caused him to miss any games. He'll be looking for a bounceback performance after a rough game Sunday in Memphis (scoreless in 19 minutes of action).
Kevin Martin, GCold12/16/2013 1:45:00 PM
Description: Minnesota guard Kevin Martin is questionable for Monday's game against Boston due to a lingering knee injury.
Insight: Martin hasn't shot over 50 percent in any of the last three games, shooting a combined 5-for-24 from the field (20.8 percent) and 2-for-11 from beyond the arc (18.1 percent). Perhaps the knee hurts more than he is admitting. Fantasy owners should stay away from now.
Kevin Love, F12/14/2013 9:13:00 AM
Description: Minnesota power forward Kevin Love was outstanding in Friday night's loss to San Antonio.
Insight: Love matched his uniform number with 42 points on 15-of-27 shooting. He was unstoppable from beyond the arc, knocking down eight of his nine attempts from three-point range. The UCLA product dominated the boards as usual, contributing 14 rebounds in 39 minutes. It's hard to find a weakness in Love's game. He's a top-ten fantasy player.
Kevin Martin, G12/11/2013 7:56:00 PM
Description: Minnesota guard Kevin Martin will suit up Wednesday despite a lingering knee injury. SOURCE: Nate Sandell, 1500 ESPN AM
Insight: Martin attempted just nine shots Tuesday in Detroit, his lowest output of the season. Fantasy owners are hoping he'll be back to his usual workload (16.9 attempts per game) Wednesday versus the Sixers.
Kevin Love, F12/9/2013 2:40:00 PM
Description: Wolves forward Kevin Love returned to practice Monday.
Insight: Love missed Saturday's game to be with his family after the death of his grandmother. He should be good to go for Minnesota's next game Tuesday in Detroit.

Kevin Love, FHot12/5/2013 5:19:00 PM
Description: Timbewolves power forward Kevin Love's status for Saturday's game is up in the air after the passing of his grandmother, according to timberwolves.nba.com.
Insight: Love leads the NBA with 18 double-doubles in 19 games this season, and he's also averaging a career-high 4.1 assists. Look for Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Dante Cunningham to pick up Love's minutes if he is out Saturday.

Description: Luc Mbah a Moute could make his T-Wolves debut Saturday against Dallas. SOURCE: Timberwolves PR on Twitter
Insight: Mbah a Moute was at the team's shootaround earlier today after missing Friday's practice to get some of his things from Sacramento. He's only averaging 4.4 ppg and shouldn't be owned in any fantasy leagues.
Nikola Pekovic, C11/28/2013 12:08:00 PM
Description: Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic is averaging 17.3 points and 8.6 rebounds over his last seven games.
Insight: Pek (14.8 ppg, 8.6 rpg) is a solid contributor in both of those categories but his value is limited because he doesn't pick up many steals or blocks.
Kevin Martin, GHot11/28/2013 11:10:00 AM
Description: For just the second time this season, Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin failed to make a 3-point Wednesday against Denver. However, he still had 29 points because he went 11-of-11 from the charity stripe.
Insight: Martin has made 93.8 percent of his free throws on 6.0 attempts per game this season as well as 43.2 percent of his threes on 5.5 attempts per game. He's averaging 22.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.4 threes and should continue to thrive as Minnesota's No. 2 scoring option.
Luc Mbah a Moute, F11/27/2013 3:02:00 PM
Description: Luc Mbah a Moute has passed his physical but it's unknown if he'll make his Minnesota debut Wednesday against Denver. SOURCE: Mark Remme, Timberwolves.com
Insight: He wasn't a fantasy factor during his nine-game stint with Sacramento. The 27-year-old UCLA alum had his best season in 2011-12 when he averaged 7.7 ppg while playing for the Bucks.
Kevin Love, FHot11/25/2013 10:38:00 PM
Description: Timbewolves power forward Kevin Love ran his double-double streak to seven in a row Monday versus Indiana.
Insight: Though he struggled from the field (just 6-of-20), Love still generated 20 points and 17 rebounds. Minnesota has now dropped four out of five after getting off to 7-4 start.
Kevin Love, F11/23/2013 10:33:00 PM
Description: The Wolves didn't get the win Saturday in Houston but they got a great effort out of power forward Kevin Love, who scored 27 points in 36 minutes of action.
Insight: He also had 15 rebounds and two assists. Love's double-double streak is now at six in a row.
Ricky Rubio, G11/22/2013 10:32:00 PM
Description: Minnesota guard Ricky Rubio is averaging nearly three steals and nine assists per game this season.
Insight: His scoring is also as inconsistent as ever. He had 12 points, eight assists and three thefts Friday against the Nets, giving him 8.2 ppg this season.
Shabazz Muhammad, G11/22/2013 4:22:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves rookie Shabazz Muhammad (ankle) is expected to play Friday, according to Nate Sandell of 1500espn.com.
Insight: Sandell said Muhammad didn't seem to be having any ankle issues during Friday's shootaround. The rookie has played just 20 minutes over four games so far and shouldn't be owned in any fantasy leagues at the moment.
Kevin Love, F11/20/2013 9:43:00 AM
Description: Minnesota forward Kevin Love scored 16 of his 25 points in the first quarter Tuesday versus Washington.
Insight: Three of Love's four three-pointers came during the opening period. Love has scored at least 23 points in 11 of 12 games this season. He's having an MVP caliber year and should be a lock for his third All-Star Game in February.
Chase Budinger, F11/19/2013 11:00:00 AM
Description: Minnesota guard/forward Chase Budinger was seen taking jump shots after practice Monday.
Insight: Still no updated timetable for his return so we will stick with the original 6-8 week schedule which would put a return around the beginning of December. He's been a consistence 9.4 ppg scorer over his first four seasons which won't get him onto many fantasy rosters even when healthy.
Shabazz Muhammad, G11/19/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Wolves guard Shabazz Muhammad is questionable for Tuesday's game against Washington with a sprained right ankle.
Insight: He practiced on Monday, but isn't near 100 percent, according to beat reporter Nate Sadell. Muhammad doesn't see enough playing time to be on any fantasy radars.
Nikola Pekovic, C11/16/2013 10:31:00 PM
Description: Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic had 20 points and 12 rebounds in 30.5 minutes Saturday against Boston.
Insight: So much for that foot injury. Fantasy owners no longer need to worry after the big man had his right foot wrapped following Friday's game.
Nikola Pekovic, C11/16/2013 7:05:00 PM
Description: Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic (foot) will play Saturday against the Celtics.
Insight: Pekovic had his right foot wrapped after Friday's game, but he's ready to play Saturday. He's averaging 13.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season.
Kevin Martin, GHot11/15/2013 11:10:00 AM
Description: Minnesota shooting guard Kevin Martin sat out Wednesday and is questionable for Friday's game against Denver because of the flu.
Insight: Martin did practice Thursday so that's encouraging. He is off to a huge start. In eight games, the 30-year-old has averaged just under 25 ppg while shooting a lethal 55.8 percent from three-point distance.
Ricky Rubio, G11/13/2013 10:44:00 PM
Description: Minnesota guard Ricky Rubio dished out 16 assists in a blowout win Wednesday over the Cavaliers.
Insight: He also scored 16 points with six rebounds. Rubio actually has more double-digit assist games this season (five) than games with double-digit points (just three).
Kevin Martin, GHot11/13/2013 8:37:00 PM
Description: Minnesota shooting guard Kevin Martin sat out Wednesday because of the flu. SOURCE: Cleveland Plain Dealer
Insight: Martin is off to a huge start. In eight games, the 30-year-old has averaged just under 25 ppg while shooting a lethal 55.8 percent from three-point distance. Hopefully he'll be over his illness by Friday when the Wolves play in Denver.
Corey Brewer, F11/8/2013 10:28:00 PM
Description: Corey Brewer has scored 17.5 ppg over his last two games.
Insight: He's had double-digit points in four straight games and five of six this season. He should improve on his stats from last season with Denver, when he averaged 12.1 points, 1.4 steals and 1.1 threes in 24.5 minutes per game. He's playing 32 mpg as Minnesota's starting small forward.
Kevin Love, FHot11/8/2013 10:26:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love already has three 30-point, 15-rebound games this season.
Insight: He has six double-doubles in six games and scored at least 24 points in five of six. His latest effort saw him score 32 points with 15 rebounds, eight assists, one block and three threes Friday against Dallas. Love has pitched in 5.0 assists per game, up from 2.0 for his career.
Kevin Martin, GHot11/8/2013 10:26:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin is averaging 27 ppg over his last four games.
Insight: He has scored at least 23 points in five of six games this season and hit 17-of-30 (.567) from behind the arc. He had a season-high 32 points Friday against the Mavericks.
Derrick Williams, F11/8/2013 8:36:00 PM
Description: Back spasms will keep Minnesota's Derrick Williams from playing Friday night.
Insight: The 2011 No. 2 overall pick is playing just 22 minutes per game this season and will have minimal fantasy value unless Kevin Love goes down.
Kevin Martin, GHot11/6/2013 11:03:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin has scored 23 or more points in three straight games and in four of his first five games this season.
Insight: Martin has made 14 of his 25 3-point attempts through five games. He's a fantastic fit for Minnesota's offense as a finisher for Ricky Rubio's frequent drive-and-kicks.
Kevin Love, FHot11/6/2013 10:30:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love had 25 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block Wednesday against the Warriors.
Insight: It's safe to say Love is back to his 2011-12 form after an injury-plagued 2012-13 season. He's averaging 26.2 points, 14.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists through five games.
Ricky Rubio, G11/2/2013 9:35:00 AM
Description: Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio scored in double figures and dished out double-digit assists in each of the first two games this season.
Insight: He also picked up eight steals and three triples in that span. Rubio will likely still experience some shooting woes this season which will limit his scoring but he has the potential to average 10 assists and 3.0 steals. That makes him one of fantasy's top point guards.
Corey Brewer, F10/30/2013 7:03:00 PM
Description: Corey Brewer is starting Minnesota's season opener Wednesday against the Magic at small forward.
Insight: Brewer returned to the team that drafted him when he signed with the Timberwolves this summer. He averaged 12.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 threes over 24 minutes per game with the Nuggets last season. He'll have to compete with Derrick Williams, Shabazz Muhammad and Chase Budinger for small forward minutes, so his fantasy value will be limited.
Ricky Rubio, G10/26/2013 8:40:00 PM
Description: The Timberwolves have picked up Ricky Rubio's option for next season. SOURCE: Timberwolves PR on Twitter
Insight: It's a no-brainer for the Wolves as Rubio is poised to become Minnesota's franchise point guard. He's one of only a handful of players in the league with the potential to average double-digit assists.
Derrick Williams, F10/26/2013 8:36:00 PM
Description: Minnesota forward Derrick Williams will have his option picked up for next season. SOURCE: 1500 ESPN
Insight: The 22-year-old will have a base salary of $6.3 million in 2014-15. Originally slated to open the year as the team's starting small forward, Williams may have to settle for a spot on the bench behind Corey Brewer.
Kevin Martin, G10/15/2013 3:27:00 PM
Description: T-Wolves guard Kevin Martin (Achilles) returned to practice on Tuesday.
Insight: The original decision to keep him out was precautionary so it shouldn't be long before we see Martin back on the court.
Kevin Martin, G10/9/2013 10:13:00 PM
Description: T-Wolves guard Kevin Martin left Wednesday's preseason game with an Achilles injury. SOURCE: Timberwolves PR
Insight: He finished with four points in just six minutes of action. The decision to keep him out was precautionary so it shouldn't be long before we see Martin back on the court.
Chase Budinger, F9/28/2013 9:13:00 PM
Description: Minnesota guard/forward Chase Budinger is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks with a left knee injury. SOURCE: Jerry Zgoda, Star Tribune
Insight: He could be out for even longer once he learns his official diagnosis from Dr. James Andrews. Injuries limited Budinger to just 20 games last season and it looks like that same scenario could play out again in 2013-14.
Nikola Pekovic, C8/14/2013 5:47:00 PM
Description: The Timberwolves and center Nikola Pekovic agreed to terms on a five-year contract worth $60 million.
Insight: Pekovic broke out in 2012-13 with averages of 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds in nearly 32 minutes per game. However, he once again dealt with injuries and missed 20 games.
Kevin Martin, G8/12/2013 2:45:00 PM
Description: Newly acquired SG guard Kevin Martin should fit nicely in the Minnesota offense, according to Star Tribune reporter Jerry Zgoda.
Insight: The Timberwolves have an excellent point guard in Ricky Rubio and an inside game that requires defensive attention with the returning Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic. We think Martin will rebound from an off season in OKC to score 19 or 20 ppg.
Shabazz Muhammad, G8/7/2013 8:01:00 PM
Description: Wolves guard Shabazz Muhammad was sent home early from the NBA's Rookie Transition Program in New Jersey after bringing a female guest back to his hotel room. SOURCE: USA Today
Insight: He'll also pay a fine. None of the rookies attending the seminar are allowed to bring unauthorized guests back to their rooms. Muhammad is no stranger to controversy. He briefly lost his eligiblity at UCLA last season after being accused of receiving improper benefits. He was re-instated three games later. Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley were involved in a similar incident when they attended the Rookie Transition Program together in 2008.
Ronny Turiaf, C7/18/2013 9:42:00 PM
Description: Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports Ronny Turiaf has signed a two-year, $3.2 million deal with the Timberwolves.
Insight: Turiaf has now played for seven teams in his last seven seasons. The journeyman averaged just 1.9 ppg backing up DeAndre Jordan last year in Los Angeles. Needless to say, he won't be a fantasy option in 2013-14.
Kevin Love, F7/13/2013 6:13:00 PM
Description: According to the Timberwolves' Twitter, power forward Kevin Love is working out with no limitations.
Insight: Love played just 18 games this season due to two broken bones in his right hand, and then had surgery to address an issue with scar tissue in his left knee. He should be an early first-round pick in 2013-14 fantasy drafts.
Ricky Rubio, G7/13/2013 6:13:00 PM
Description: The Timberwolves tweeted that Ricky Rubio is working out without limitations.
Insight: Rubio suffered a torn ACL toward the end of his rookie year and didn't return until December last season. He averaged just 6.1 points and 25 minutes over his first 21 games back, but played an average of 33 minutes and had 13.3 points, 8.1 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 steals over his last 36 games.
Nikola Pekovic, C7/10/2013 8:50:00 PM
Description: The Wolves and center Nikola Pekovic are working on a four-year, $50 million deal according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Insight: The deal should be official soon. Pekovic posted career-highs in scoring (16.3 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg) last season. He'll be paired with Chase Budinger and Kevin Love in the front court next season.
Corey Brewer, F7/10/2013 7:55:00 PM
Description: Corey Brewer and the Timberwolves have agreed to a three-year, $15 million contract, according to Yahoo's Marc Spears.
Insight: Brewer spent four seasons in Minnesota before being traded to the Knicks at the 2011 trade deadline. Last year in Denver, Brewer averaged 12.1 ppg on 42.5 percent shooting. He'll compete with Chase Budinger and rookie Shabazz Muhammad for minutes at the three next season.
Nikola Pekovic, C7/8/2013 9:12:00 PM
Description: The Timberwolves made a contract offer to restricted free agent Nikola Pekovic on Friday, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Insight: The Wolves are still waiting to hear back from him. All signs point to Pekovic (16.3 ppg, 8.8 rpg last season) returning to Minnesota.
Chase Budinger, F7/2/2013 9:35:00 PM
Description: The T-Wolves inked swingman Chase Budinger to a three-year deal on Tuesday. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: He'll earn $16 million over the contract's duration. Budinger (9.1 ppg in 23 games in 2012-13) has shown flashes during his first three seasons in the league but he's never been able to put it all together. He could have a chance to start at small forward now that Andrei Kirilenko is a free agent.
Kevin Martin, G7/2/2013 8:44:00 PM
Description: Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Kevin Martin has agreed to a four-year, $28 million deal with Minnesota.
Insight: The Timberwolves seem to be stockpiling wing players this offseason. They drafted Shabazz Muhammad last week and now they've already grabbed Chase Budinger and Martin in free agency. Martin averaged 14.0 ppg for the Thunder last season, his lowest scoring average since 2005-06 when he played for Sacramento.
Andrei Kirilenko, F6/30/2013 4:07:00 PM
Description: Andrei Kirilenko has chosen to opt out of his deal with the Timberwolves.
Insight: At midnight, he'll become a free agent. That's pretty convenient for rookie Shabazz Muhammad, who could slide into the starting small forward role now that Kirilenko appears to be on his way out of town. Kirilenko averaged 12.4 ppg and 5.4 rpg last year in his first and perhaps only season with Minnesota.
Kevin Love, F6/26/2013 6:26:00 PM
Description: Earlier this week, the Cavaliers offered Minnesota Dion Waiters, Tristan Thompson and the first pick in Thursday's NBA draft for Kevin Love. SOURCE: ESPN
Insight: The Timberwolves have already turned it down. That's a pretty fair offer so it seems like Minnesota is intent on keeping its franchise power forward. We'd expect the Wolves to eventually lock Love into a long-term deal. As it stands now, Love will become a free agent after the 2014-15 season.
Brandon Roy, G6/24/2013 7:22:00 PM
Description: This could be the end for free agent guard Brandon Roy. SOURCE: Ben Golliver, SB Nation
Insight: Roy endured a short-lived comeback with the Timberwolves last season. Knee injuries limited him to just five games and now Roy says his "basketball days are numbered." He hasn't officially retired but it looks like he's headed in that direction.
Derrick Williams, F4/17/2013 10:44:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams had 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting, six rebounds and four assists Wednesday in the season finale against the Spurs.
Insight: Williams only averaged 12.0 ppg overall in his sophomore season but he stepped it up with 15.3 ppg over his final 33 games.
Nikola Pekovic, C4/17/2013 7:36:00 PM
Description: Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic (sore calf) will miss Wednesday's game, as we expected.
Insight: There was no reason to force Pekovic into action with nothing to play for. He averaged 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds this season but once again dealt with injuries and missed 20 games. He'll be a restricted free agent this summer.
Nikola Pekovic, C4/16/2013 5:02:00 PM
Description: Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic (sore calf) is doubtful for Wednesday's game, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Insight: Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman was uncertain if Pekovic would play Wednesday, but we can't see him playing since the team has nothing to play for. The center will be a restricted free agent this summer.
