Insight: Holiday averaged just 14.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 7.9 apg, 1.6 spg, but that was with a new club and now that he's had a chance to fit in he should be better. We will like him a lot more when he tells us he's healthy.
Eric Gordon, G10/24/2014 10:08:00 AM
Description: Pelicans guard Eric Gordon (chronic knee tendinitis) has played 20-plus minutes in each of the last five preseason games.
Insight: We like that he's getting minutes, but it's hard to trust a guy with his injury history. He did play 64 games last season and averaged 15.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 3.3 apg., but that's likely his upper limit.
Anthony Davis, PF10/24/2014 10:06:00 AM

Insight: We believe he has the talent to play at his post All-Star break level, so are projecting 17.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.9 apg getting most of the minutes as the primary small forward, but he can also play at either guard spot if needed.
Jrue Holiday, G10/22/2014 11:59:00 AM

Insight: He also provided 13 rebounds and four blocks. The only down side was that Davis fouled out for the first time in his career. His disqualification came with just 24 seconds remaining so it didn't really hurt fantasy owners.
Jrue Holiday, G2/19/2014 7:06:00 PM
Description: The Pelicans announced Wednesday that point guard Jrue Holiday is still out indefinitely. SOURCE: Jim Eichenhofer, Pelicans.com
Insight: Holiday has missed six weeks with a stress fracture in his leg. There was some optimism that he could be back in about a week but that seems to have quickly faded. Brian Roberts (8.4 ppg, 3.0 apg) has been starting in Holiday's absence.
Ryan Anderson, F2/19/2014 4:52:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Pelicans received a Disabled Player Exception worth $4.15 million for Ryan Anderson.
Insight: It officially ends the power forward's season. Anderson (19.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.0 3pg) suffered a herniated disk in his neck on Jan. 3 and may require surgery.
Ryan Anderson, F2/18/2014 5:50:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Pelicans are expected to receive a Disabled Player Exception worth roughly $4 million for Ryan Anderson.
Insight: It would officially end the power forward's season. Anderson (19.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.0 3pg) hasn't played since he suffered a herniated disk in his neck on Jan. 3 and may require surgery.
Jrue Holiday, G2/18/2014 12:06:00 PM
Description: New Orleans point guard Jrue Holiday is expected to return in a week, if not sooner, according to Darrell Williams of the New Orleans Advocate.
Insight: For the season he's averaging 14.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 7.9 apg, 1.6 spg and fantasy owners would like that back as soon as possible as he hasn't played since Jan 8.
Willie Green, G2/18/2014 12:04:00 PM
Description: Clippers guard Willie Green will miss Tuesday's game against San Antonio due to a hip injury.
Insight: Green simply doesn't get enough court time on this team to warrant attention from fantasy owners even when healthy.
Brian Roberts, GHot2/12/2014 10:36:00 PM
Description: Hornets point guard Brian Roberts has averaged 16.4 points, 4.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.8 triples over his last five games.
Insight: He didn't put up great numbers in his first 13 starts after Jrue Holiday's injury but has come around lately. Holiday is out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his right tibia.
Tyreke Evans, G/F2/10/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: A game after being benched, Tyreke Evans came back to score 23 points in a dominant effort Monday against Toronto.
Insight: Evans' line also included five rebounds, three steals and ten assists. It's been hard to trust Evans this year but he's still capable of going off at any moment. Fantasy owners will have to pick their spots with the talented 24-year-old.
Tyreke Evans, G/FCold2/9/2014 9:44:00 PM
Description: Pelicans G/F Tyreke Evans was a DNP coach's decision Sunday against the Nets.
Insight: This is pretty bizarre as Evans logged 20 minutes in the team's previous game Friday versus the Timberwolves. He's having a bad enough season as it is. If Evans falls out of the rotation, it would be devastating to whatever fantasy value he has left. If you try and trade Evans now, you probably won't get much in return.
Tyreke Evans, G/F2/7/2014 9:42:00 PM
Description: New Orleans swingman Tyreke Evans is active for Friday's game against the Timberwolves. SOURCE: John Reid, New Orleans Times-Picayune
Insight: Evans sat out Wednesday because of a rib injury. He's been a relative disappointment this season, averaging just 12.5 ppg on 40.3 percent shooting. Obviously moving to the bench after being used as a starter in Sacramento hasn't helped matters.
Anthony Davis, PF2/7/2014 7:59:00 PM
Description: New Orleans power forward Anthony Davis is headed to his first All-Star Game.
Insight: Davis (20.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 3.3 rpg) received the invitation after Kobe Bryant bowed out with a knee injury. The 20-year-old is also competing in Friday night's Rising Stars Game. He'll be on Team Webber.
Tyreke Evans, G/F2/7/2014 11:32:00 AM
Description: Pelicans G/F Tyreke Evans is questionable for Friday's game against Minnesota due to a bruised right rib cage.
Insight: Evans is dealing with a cartilage issue in his ribs. This wouldn't impact New Orleans' starting lineup, but it should mean more playing time for the NBA's leading three-point shooter, Anthony Morrow (47.1 percent on three-pointers this season).

Description: The Pelicans will be without G/F Tyreke Evans Wednesday against Atlanta. SOURCE: Jennifer Hale, Fox Sports

Description: New Orleans swingman Tyreke Evans is headed for a game-time decision Wednesday against the Hawks. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: A rib injury limited Evans to five minutes Monday versus San Antonio. Evans' potential absence could open up minutes for fellow reserves Anthony Morrow (6.1 ppg) and Austin Rivers (5.8 ppg).
Tyreke Evans, G/F2/4/2014 8:37:00 AM
Description: Pelicans G/F Tyreke Evans went to the locker room during Monday's game due to a rib injury and quickly returned to the bench, but never back into the game.
Insight: He was expected to play, but no explanation was given for why he didn't. Call him questionable for Wednesday. More ominous is that he's posting the lowest scoring output of his career (12.5 ppg).
Tyreke Evans, G/F2/3/2014 9:15:00 PM
Description: Pelicans G/F Tyreke Evans went to the locker room during Monday's game but returned to the bench soon thereafter and is expected to return to the game, according to John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Anthony Davis, PF2/2/2014 10:09:00 AM
Description: Recent All-Star snub Anthony Davis was spectacular Saturday in a victory over Chicago.
Insight: Playing in his first game since dislocating his finger earlier in the week, the Pelicans forward finished with 24 points, eight boards, three steals and six blocked shots. Davis' 3.34 bpg are the most we've seen since 2011-12 when Serge Ibaka led the league with 3.65 bpg.
Anthony Davis, PF2/1/2014 6:35:00 PM
Description: Updating an earlier report, New Orleans PF Anthony Davis will be active for Saturday's game versus the Bulls. SOURCE: NBA.com

Anthony Davis, PFHot2/1/2014 12:26:00 PM
Description: Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis did not play Wednesday due to soreness in his dislocated left index finger, but is probable for Saturday's game against Chicago
Insight: Davis injured his finger Tuesday but said after the game that he was fine and would play Wednesday. However, he did not. He's been playing at an elite level of late averaging 21.6 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.5 apg and 3.4 bpg in 15 January contests.

Eric Gordon, G1/28/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: New Orleans shooting guard Eric Gordon almost went for a triple-double Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
Insight: Gordon collected 20 points, nine assists and seven boards. Gordon's scoring is down from last season (16.0 ppg compared to 17.0 in 2012-13) but at least he's been able to stay healthy throughout the year (played in 41 of a possible 44 games).
Anthony Davis, PF1/28/2014 10:04:00 PM
Description: Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis suffered a finger injury during Tuesday's game but says he is fine. "Nothing," Davis said. "I'm good. Ready to play tomorrow." SOURCE: Michael Gallagher, NBC Sports

Anthony Davis, PF1/28/2014 9:31:00 PM

Insight: He didn't commit a single turnover in 39 minutes of action. New Orleans has now won three straight. Davis (20.4 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 3.3 bpg) is trying to become the first player since Shaq to average 20 ppg, 10 rpg and 3 bpg for an entire season.
Anthony Davis, PFHot1/26/2014 8:42:00 PM
Description: New Orleans PF/C Anthony Davis had a monster game Sunday against the Magic, adding seven blocks and two steals to his 22 points and 19 rebounds.

Tyreke Evans, G/F1/26/2014 8:41:00 PM
Description: New Orleans G/F Tyreke Evans wasn't slowed one bit by his illness Sunday against the Magic.
Insight: Evans didn't play Friday at Detroit was a game-time decision Sunday, but he looked completely fine in scoring 23 points with seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block over 28 minutes. The 24-year-old has been very effective as the sixth man for the Pelicans this season.
Tyreke Evans, G/F1/26/2014 6:02:00 PM
Description: New Orleans G/F Tyreke Evans (illness) will play Saturday against Orlando, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

Brian Roberts, G1/26/2014 11:45:00 AM
Description: Hornets backup guard Brian Roberts is receiving the bulk of the point guard minutes while Jrue Holiday is sidelined and is averaging 11.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 3.9 apg in nine starts.
Insight: He should continue in this role for about three more weeks based on Holiday's timetable for return. Holiday is posting 14.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 7.9 apg so this is a significant drop off.
Tyreke Evans, G/F1/26/2014 11:40:00 AM
Description: New Orleans G/F Tyreke Evans didn't participate in Friday's game against Detroit due to illness and is questionable for Sunday's game against Orlando.

Anthony Morrow, G1/24/2014 2:06:00 PM

Anthony Morrow, G1/21/2014 8:52:00 AM
Description: Pelicans G/SF Anthony Morrow is questionable for Tuesday's game against Sacramento after missing Monday's game due to illness.
Insight: Unfortunately, he also didn't play Saturday but that was because Tyreke Evans returned to the lineup. Morrow won't see enough playing time to be fantasy worthy unless New Orleans suffers further injuries.
Anthony Davis, PFHot1/20/2014 9:42:00 PM
Description: New Orleans PF/C Anthony Davis has scored at least 21 points in each of the last eight games. He had 27 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and four steals Monday at Memphis.
Insight: Davis is a top-five fantasy asset in all formats and he continues to get better. He averaged 24.5 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.9 steals over the last eight games, but somehow New Orleans went 1-7 in that span.
Jason Smith, C1/19/2014 1:51:00 PM

Tyreke Evans, G/F1/18/2014 7:43:00 PM

Description: New Orleans power forward Ryan Anderson will need at least two months to recover from a herniated disk in his back. SOURCE: John Reid, New Orleans Times-Picayune
Insight: He may even need surgery. Anderson, who is averaging a career-high 19.8 ppg this season, leads the NBA in free throw shooting at 95.2 percent. Insight: Early estimates are for a one-month absence. Holiday had produced single-digit points in his previous four outings, shooting just 11-for-37 over that span. The leg injury may explain his recent lack of production. For the season he's averaging 14.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 7.9 apg, 1.6 spg.
Jason Smith, C1/7/2014 6:15:00 PM
