Description: The Mavs are sending Jose Calderon to the Knicks along with Samuel Dalembert, Wayne Ellington, Shane Larkin and two second-round picks. SOURCE: Marc Spears, Yahoo Sports
Insight: Calderon will be reunited with former Raptors teammate Andrea Bargnani, who just picked up his option for next season. Calderon (11.4 ppg, 4.7 apg in 2013-14) is an upgrade over the underwhelming Raymond Felton.
Raymond Felton, G6/24/2014 9:11:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard Raymond Felton won't face jail time after pleading guilty to gun charges. SOURCE: Mike Mazzeo, ESPN New York
Insight: Felton (9.7 ppg, 5.6 apg in 2013-14) was arrested back in February. He'll have to do some community service and pay a fine. It's possible the league could hand down a suspension at a later date.

Description: Carmelo Anthony has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract. SOURCE: Adrian Wojnarowksi, Yahoo Sports
Insight: He had until Monday to make his decision. With LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh also candidates to opt out, this should be one of the most anticipated free agency periods we've seen in a long time.
Carmelo Anthony, F6/15/2014 3:56:00 PM
Description: Rumors are running rampant about the future of Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony.
Insight: Yahoo Sports has reported that Anthony is leaning towards leaving the Knicks while the New York Post said the Knicks feel good about their chances of keeping Melo. Anthony has until June 23rd to opt out of the final year of his contract. The Bulls, Knicks and Rockets seem to have the upper hand in landing the seven-time All-Star though Miami could always fight its way into the mix.
Metta World Peace, F6/13/2014 8:47:00 PM
Description: Free agent forward Metta World Peace has agreed to be an assistant coach for the girls' basketball team at Palisades High School in New York. SOURCE: ESPN

Carmelo Anthony, F6/11/2014 8:55:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Heat are looking to sign Carmelo Anthony.
Insight: It's a foregone conclusion that Anthony will opt out of his contract with the Knicks and become a free agent. The move would give Miami a Big Four featuring Melo, LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. Of course, in order for this to happen, all four would have to accept a significant pay cut. At this point, it's unclear if Anthony is willing to do that.
Carmelo Anthony, F6/11/2014 3:58:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has until June 23 to notify the team if he plans to opt out of the final year of his contract, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

Derek Fisher, G6/10/2014 7:47:00 PM

Raymond Felton, G5/18/2014 3:28:00 PM
Description: New York point guard Raymond Felton was told by Phil Jackson that the team will attempt to trade him this offseason. SOURCE: SNY
Insight: Good luck with that. After averaging a career-worst 9.7 ppg on miserable 39.5 percent shooting, Felton isn't someone teams will be bending over backwards to get. At 29, the UNC alum's best days are probably behind him. Marcus Smart and Tyler Ennis could both be options for the Knicks at point guard depending on where they fall in the draft lottery.
Lamar Odom, F4/16/2014 9:08:00 PM
Description: Lamar Odom is officially a New York Knick. SOURCE: NBA.com
Insight: For now at least, His contract includes an option for next season. Odom averaged 4.0 ppg for the Clippers last season and probably won't fare much better in New York in 2014-15.
Cole Aldrich, C4/15/2014 10:46:00 PM
Description: Cole Aldrich was New York's top performer Tuesday in a win over Brooklyn.
Insight: He netted 13 points to go with 13 rebounds. Both totals were season-highs. Aldrich played 25 minutes for the Knicks and should see a similar workload in tomorrow's season finale against the Raptors.
Carmelo Anthony, F4/15/2014 6:55:00 PM
Description: New York forward Carmelo Anthony will not participate in Tuesday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: He's been playing with a torn labrum, though according to Newsday's Al Iannazzone, the injury will not require surgery. With free agency looming, it's possible that Carmelo has played his final game in a Knicks uniform.

Amare Stoudemire, FHot4/11/2014 9:45:00 PM
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire put up 24 points and 11 rebounds in 40 minutes Friday against the Raptors.

Insight: He's dealing with a "dead" arm right now. With New York a game and a half behind Atlanta for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, we'd expect Carmelo (11.5 ppg over his last two contests) to continue playing through the injury.
J.R. Smith, SGHot4/6/2014 4:03:00 PM
Description: New York guard J.R. Smith set a team record by hitting ten three-pointers Sunday in a loss to Miami.

Insight: Felton's miserable season has gotten worse lately, as he averaged 7.8 ppg on .388 shooting, 5.3 assists and 1.9 turnovers in 19 games prior to Wednesday. The Knicks have a 15-point lead in the third quarter so the Knicks may just hold out Felton the rest of the game.
Tim Hardaway Jr., G4/2/2014 5:53:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (ankle) will dress for Wednesday's game, the team announced.
Insight: Hardaway suffered an ankle sprain during Monday's contest. X-rays were negative, but the guard looked to be in a lot of pain when the injury happened and was in a wheelchair afterward. He'll probably be limited Wednesday and shouldn't be started in fantasy leagues.
Amare Stoudemire, FHot4/2/2014 5:50:00 PM
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire will return to the lineup Wednesday against the Nets.
Insight: Stoudemire sat out Monday for rest. He has scored double-digit points in 14 straight games while averaging 28.3 minutes, 16.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks during that span.

Carmelo Anthony, F3/31/2014 3:39:00 PM
Description: X-rays on Carmelo Anthony's injured hand have come back negative. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday

Amare Stoudemire, FHot3/26/2014 9:40:00 PM
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire is ready to play Wednesday against the Kings. SOURCE: Jonah Ballow, Knicks.com
Insight: This comes as a bit of a surprise as Stoudemire usually sits out the second game of back-to-backs. He's been on a tear lately, averaging 17.2 ppg over his last five appearances.
Amare Stoudemire, F3/26/2014 11:58:00 AM
Description: New York F/C Amare Stoudemire is questionable for Wednesday's game against Sacramento, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday.
Insight: It's the second game of a back-to-back. Stoudemire has averaged 27.5 minutes, 17.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.8 blocks his last 11 games, and coach Mike Woodson said before Tuesday's game that he hoped to have the forward for both games of the back-to-back.
Tyson Chandler, C3/25/2014 1:56:00 PM
Description: New York center Tyson Chandler missed the Tuesday morning shootaround (personal reasons), but is expected to be ready to go against the Lakers Tuesday night.
Insight: When healthy, Chandler (9.3 ppg, 10.2 rpg) is still a double-double threat most nights, but he's struggled to stay on the court this season.
Iman Shumpert, G3/25/2014 9:42:00 AM
Description: Knicks shooting guard Iman Shumpert didn't play Sunday due to flu-like symptoms and is questionable for Tuesday night as well.

Iman Shumpert, G3/23/2014 5:51:00 PM
Description: Knicks shooting guard Iman Shumpert won't be on the floor Sunday versus Cleveland. SOURCE: Knicks PR on Twitter

Tyson Chandler, C3/19/2014 6:29:00 PM
Description: New York center Tyson Chandler will start Wednesday against the Pacers. He missed practice earlier this week for personal reasons. SOURCE: Steve Popper, The Record
Insight: Chandler has only been active for 41 of the Knicks' 67 games this season. When healthy, Chandler (9.2 ppg, 10.2 rpg) is still a double-double threat most nights.
Amare Stoudemire, F3/14/2014 5:05:00 PM
Description: New York F/C Amare Stoudemire will return to action Saturday against the Bucks. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: Stoudemire (10.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg) got a night off for rest purposes after playing six straight games. He has averaged 27 mpg, 17.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 1.2 bpg in those six games, so the Knicks want to make sure he stays in the lineup long term.
Tyson Chandler, CHot3/14/2014 5:03:00 PM
Description: Knicks center Tyson Chandler (personal) will return to the lineup Saturday, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday.

Description: Knicks center Cole Aldrich made 4-of-5 from the field and had 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in 25 minutes Wednesday at Boston.

Cole Aldrich, C3/12/2014 5:22:00 PM
Description: Knicks center Cole Aldrich will start Wednesday, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday.
Insight: Tyson Chandler is out for personal reasons and Amare Stoudemire is getting a day of rest, leaving Aldrich to start. He'll split time with Jeremy Tyler.

Description: Knicks center Tyson Chandler will miss his second straight game Wednesday against the Celtics. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: He's out for personal reasons. Amare Stoudemire (10.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg) got the start at center Monday versus the Sixers, though he's also out for tonight's game (rest). With those two sidelined, Cole Aldrich (0.9 ppg) will make his first career start.
Tyson Chandler, C3/10/2014 4:04:00 PM
Description: It's been confirmed by the Knicks' PR department that center Tyson Chandler will miss Monday's game with Philadelphia due to a personal reason.
Insight: The Knicks are playing the Sixers, so they can win the game without him. Amare Stoudemire, Jeremy Tyler and Cole Aldrich should all see increased minutes.
Tyson Chandler, C3/10/2014 3:16:00 PM
Description: New York center Tyson Chandler could miss Monday's game with Philadelphia due to a personal reason.
Insight: The Knicks are playing the Sixers, so they can win the game without him.
Amare Stoudemire, F3/8/2014 10:23:00 PM
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire had 17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 28 minutes Saturday at Cleveland.
Insight: The 31-year-old has averaged 26.6 minutes, 16.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over his last five games. It's only a matter of time before Stoudemire's knees start bothering him again, so enjoy this production while it lasts.
Tyson Chandler, CHot3/8/2014 10:18:00 PM
Description: New York center Tyson Chandler has pulled down double-digit rebounds in 11 consecutive games.
Insight: Chandler produced up double-digit points in seven of those 11, including Saturday when he had 15 points and 11 boards at Cleveland. After missing a lot of time in the first half of the season due to a fractured leg, Chandler has quietly posted 10.3 ppg, 12.1 rpg and 1.3 bpg his last 25 games.
Carmelo Anthony, F3/7/2014 10:06:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony added 29 points Friday in a blowout win over Utah.
Insight: Anthony is often labeled as a selfish player but that certainly wasn't the case on Friday. His eight assists were a season-high. He also had four rebounds and two steals. Carmelo has now scored at least 20 points in 13 straight games.
Carmelo Anthony, F3/6/2014 6:39:00 PM
Description: Joakim Noah is trying to recruit Carmelo Anthony to play in Chicago next season. SOURCE: Chris Broussard, ESPN
Insight: The two spoke during All-Star weekend with Noah telling Carmelo "if you really want to win a ring, you should come to Chicago." Anthony will become a free agent this summer. He's second in the league in scoring at 28.1 ppg.
Amare Stoudemire, F3/3/2014 10:05:00 PM
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire played 32 minutes and had 22 points and six rebounds Monday at Detroit.
Insight: It probably wasn't a good decision to increase Stoudemire's minutes in the second game of a back-to-back and while the forward has been dealing with knee soreness, but the Knicks don't have much depth.
Amare Stoudemire, F3/3/2014 5:41:00 PM
Description: Knicks power forward Amare Stoudemire scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting in 23 minutes Sunday after missing Friday's game with knee soreness, and he says he will ignore the usual routine of sitting out the second half of a back-to-back Monday against Detroit.
Insight: Stoudemire is only going to get 22-25 minutes per game so it will be tough for him to provide consistent fantasy production.
Tyson Chandler, CHot3/2/2014 4:11:00 PM
Description: New York center Tyson Chandler was extremely active on the boards Sunday against Chicago.
Insight: Chandler, who came down with 22 rebounds on Sunday, has averaged a stunning 17 boards per contest over his last five games. His offensive contributions haven't been as noticeable (11.0 ppg in his last five) but that's nitpicking. Until this rebound binge is over, fantasy owners have no choice but to start Chandler.
Iman Shumpert, G3/2/2014 12:49:00 PM
Description: In a surprise move, New York guard Iman Shumpert will return to the starting lineup Sunday against Chicago. SOURCE: Alan Hahn, ESPN New York
Insight: Shumpert missed five games with a sprained MCL. He could be on a minutes limit at first, which means fantasy owners may want to wait a few days before starting him. Shumpert's return will force J.R. Smith (12.9 ppg, 3.1 apg) back to his more familiar sixth man role.
Amare Stoudemire, F2/28/2014 7:23:00 PM
Description: New York power forward Amare Stoudemire will miss Friday's game against Golden State with a sore left knee, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
Insight: It's the second night of a back-to-back and Stoudemire's knee is still bothering him. After averaging 24.3 mpg, 15 ppg and 6.2 rpg from Feb. 5-21, Stoudemire has scored in single digits that last three games.
Shannon Brown, SG2/27/2014 5:30:00 PM
Description: The Knicks signed guard Shannon Brown to a 10-day contract on Thursday.
Insight: The also signed forward Earl Clark. Brown signed two 10-day contract with the Spurs but shot just 28.6 percent in 10 games. Neither player will have any fantasy value on New York.
Iman Shumpert, G2/27/2014 4:47:00 PM
Description: Iman Shumpert (MCL sprain) is still without a timetable for his return, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday.
Insight: Shumpert is with the team in Miami Thursday and has been running and jumping, but he isn't cutting or taking contact yet. J.R. Smith and Tim Hardaway Jr. have been absorbing Shumpert's minutes, and the Knicks also signed Shannon Brown and Earl Clark to 10-day contracts Thursday.
Raymond Felton, PG2/26/2014 1:30:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's SportsCenter, Knicks guard Ray Felton will play Thursday against the Heat. Felton was arrested on gun charges earlier this week.
Insight: When asked about his decision, head coach Mike Woodson said, "Bottom line Ray is part of our team." Felton, who was back at practice on Wednesday, is expected to make a statement regarding his arrest later today.
Raymond Felton, PG2/25/2014 9:00:00 PM
Description: According to Ian Begley of espnny.com, Knicks point guard Raymond Felton will play Thursday against Miami, barring some unforeseen punishment from the NBA or the team.
Insight: Felton was arrested and charged with two counts of felony weapons possession Tuesday and is out on $25,000 bail. His case has been adjourned until June 2.
Raymond Felton, PG2/25/2014 6:38:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's SportsCenter, Raymond Felton's bond has been set at $25,000. The New York guard was arrested early Tuesday morning for allegedly threatening his wife with a gun.
Insight: It's anyone's guess whether Felton will be able to play Thursday against Miami. This messy situation is far from being resolved. Pablo Prigioni would start at point guard Thursday if Felton is suspended or restricted from leaving the state.
Earl Clark, F2/25/2014 5:39:00 PM
Description: The Knicks are finalizing a contract agreement with forward Earl Clark, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of yahoosports.com.
Insight: The 76ers waived Clark this week after acquiring him from the Cavaliers in the Spencer Hawes deal. He averaged just 15.5 minutes, 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 45 games with Cleveland this season and will play reserve forward minutes for New York, not enough to give him fantasy value.
Raymond Felton, PGCold2/25/2014 4:46:00 PM
Description: Knicks point guard Raymond Felton was arrested on felony gun charges Tuesday after allegedly pointing a gun at his wife, according to espn.com. Police said Felton was in possession of a gun he wasn't registered to own.
Insight: The NBA will hold off on disciplining Felton for now, but his status for Thursday's game at Miami is up in the air. The 29-year-old point guard has had a miserable season, dealing with numerous injuries and averaging just 10.4 points, 6.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Carmelo Anthony, FHot2/24/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony continued his scoring binge with 44 points Monday against Dallas.
Insight: He's gone over 35 points in each of his last four games, averaging 41.3 ppg over that span. Almost a third of his made field goals during that stretch have come from beyond the three-point line (19-of-59). If Melo keeps this up, he might be able to catch Kevin Durant for the scoring title by season's end.
Metta World Peace, F2/24/2014 6:55:00 PM
Description: The Knicks waived forward Metta World Peace on Monday. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: We wouldn't expect anyone to claim him off waivers. Obviously we can't endorse World Peace (4.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg) in fantasy until he finds a new team.
Metta World Peace, F2/23/2014 8:13:00 PM
Description: Metta World Peace expects to be bought out by the Knicks.
Insight: He tweeted Saturday that the move could happen any day now. Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News is hearing World Peace (4.8 ppg in 29 games this season) could be a fit for the Spurs if and when the buyout takes place.
Carmelo Anthony, FHot2/22/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: New York forward Carmelo Anthony failed to extend his streak of 40-point games to three on Saturday, but he did have 35 points against the Hawks.
Insight: Melo has averaged 34.8 points on 50 percent shooting his last six games, but the Knicks have gone 2-4 in that span. They blew a 13-point halftime lead and were outscored 68-46 in the second half Saturday at Atlanta even though the Hawks were without Paul Millsap.
Tyson Chandler, C2/22/2014 6:16:00 PM
Description: Knicks center Tyson Chandler will play through a thigh injury Saturday night, according to Chris Herring of the Wall Street Journal.
Insight: Chandler took a blow to the thigh during Friday's game and is a little sore. He has put up 9.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks over his last 16 games.
Beno Udrih, G2/22/2014 5:19:00 PM
Description: The Knicks are in the process of completing buyouts with point guard Beno Udrih and forward Metta World Peace.
Insight: World Peace has dealt with knee issues all season and won't be a fantasy option no matter where he lands. Despite an abysmal point guard situation in New York, Udrih has played just 19 mpg in 31 games this season, but he had a nice run of fantasy relevance last April, averaging 37.5 minutes, 14.3 points, 8.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds in his last nine games for the Magic. There's no need to own him at this time, however.
Carmelo Anthony, FHot2/21/2014 10:25:00 PM
Description: New York forward Carmelo Anthony was scorching hot Friday in a loss to the Magic.
Insight: Leave it to the Knicks to find a way to lose when Carmelo scores 44 points. The six three-pointers Anthony made Friday tied a season-high. Melo is averaging 43 ppg on 56.1 percent shooting over his last two games.

Insight: Hardaway is running circles around Iman Shumpert (six points, 3-9 shooting) and J.R. Smith (four points, 2-8 shooting) and needs to have his minutes expanded. The rookie has put up 14 points and 2.4 triples per game in his last 11.

Insight: Stoudemire only played 21 minutes combined in his first two games back from a sprained ankle but coach Mike Woodson has extended the leash the last three games. Unfortunately, Stoudemire probably won't get more playing time than he's getting now while Woodson is still coaching the Knicks.

Description: New York power forward Carmelo Anthony breezed to 31 points Friday in an easy win over Denver.
Insight: Anthony only played 33 minutes as the Knicks coasted to a 27-point victory. Clearly the recent trade rumors surrounding Melo haven't affected his play at all. Look for him to have another productive game Sunday at Oklahoma City.
Beno Udrih, G2/7/2014 11:42:00 AM
Description: New York guard Beno Udrih is questionable for Friday's game against Denver due to illness.
Insight: He's missed six consecutive games. Raymond Felton, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith and Tim Hardaway Jr. can handle the load. Udrih can be dropped from most fantasy league rosters.
Kenyon Martin, PF2/5/2014 8:11:00 PM
Description: New York power forward Kenyon Martin has been ruled out for the rest of this week and could miss even more time as he recovers from a left ankle sprain. SOURCE: Al Iannazone, Newsday

Iman Shumpert, G2/3/2014 2:48:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard Iman Shumpert (sprained right shoulder) tested the shoulder Monday morning and will do a bit more before Monday's game to see if he can go.
Insight: Shumpert has averaged just 6.6 ppg on 29.2 percent shooting his last 12 games so fantasy owners can ignore him and use Tim Hardaway Jr. who is on a tear.
Iman Shumpert, G2/1/2014 12:32:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard Iman Shumpert (sprained right shoulder) missed Thursday's game and is questionable for Saturday's game against Miami. J.R. Smith usually gets the start in Shumpert's place, but Tim Hardaway Jr. has been the guy to have in your lineup.

Amare Stoudemire, F1/30/2014 6:48:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire (ankle) will sit out Thursday against the Cavaliers and is iffy for Sunday against Miami, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
Insight: Stoudemire has not made it back by his initial two-week timetable after spraining his left ankle on Jan. 16. The Knicks are playing without Andrea Bargnani, Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin, so they'll need another solid game from Jeremy Tyler (23 minutes, 17 points, five rebounds, two blocks Tuesday).
Kenyon Martin, PF1/30/2014 6:43:00 PM
Description: Knicks PF/C Kenyon Martin (ankle) will miss Thursday's game against the Cavaliers.
Insight: Martin missed five games with a left ankle sprain and then lasted just nine minutes in his return to action Tuesday before aggravating the injury. Amare Stoudemire, F1/30/2014 10:13:00 AM
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire is questionable for Thursday's game against Cleveland.
Insight: Stoudemire was expected to miss two weeks with his left ankle sprain and that timeframe brings us to Thursday, Jan 30. The Knicks could opt to play it conservatively with the oft-injured Stoudemire, particularly after Jeremy Tyler came up big on Tuesday (17 points, five rebounds, two blocks).
Tim Hardaway Jr., GHot1/30/2014 10:08:00 AM
Description: Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. should see additional minutes with Iman Shumpert likely to be sidelined.
Insight: Hardaway Jr. put up 16 points in 33 minutes Tuesday and has shot 53.3 percent from the field over his last three games while averaging 14.6 ppg. He has low-end fantasy value, but will need to contribute more in other categories.

Description: Knicks guard Iman Shumpert suffered a sprained right shoulder during Tuesday's game and is doubtful for Thursday's game against Cleveland.

Insight: He injured the other elbow twice last season and ended up playing just 35 games. We may have seen the last of Bargnani this year. Although inconsistent, he had averaged 13.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg which was an improvement over his 2012 season with the Raptors, but well below what he had done from 2009-2011.
Kenyon Martin, PF1/28/2014 8:41:00 PM
Description: Knicks PF/C Kenyon Martin went to the locker room after appearing to aggravate his left ankle injury during Tuesday's game.

Description: Knicks guard Iman Shumpert suffered a sprained right shoulder during Tuesday's game and is questionable to return, according to NY Knicks PR on Twitter.

Raymond Felton, PG1/26/2014 6:26:00 PM
Description: Knicks point guard Raymond Felton scored a season-high 20 points Sunday against the Lakers.

Metta World Peace, F1/26/2014 10:12:00 AM
Description: Knicks small forward Metta World Peace is probable for Sunday's game against the LA Lakers after two-weeks of PRP therapy.
Insight: World Peace was supposed to be available for Friday's game against Charlotte, but played zero minutes. With Andrea Bargnani and Amare Stoudemire hurt, Peace could see significant court time, if healthy. He still won't be fantasy worthy.
Carmelo Anthony, F1/24/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had the game of his life Friday in a 125-96 win over Charlotte. The seven-time All-Star finished with a career-high 62 points on 23-for-35 shooting.
Insight: The 62 points are a new Madison Square Garden record. It's also the highest point total ever recorded by a New York Knick. He was 6-of-11 on three-pointers and 10-of-10 from the charity stripe. The crazy thing is, it could have been even more as Melo sat out the final eight minutes with New York leading by almost 40. In typical Melo fashion, he did not have any assists. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Knicks.

Description: Knicks small forward Metta World Peace will be available for Friday's game against Charlotte. World Peace had missed New York's previous 13 games with a knee injury. SOURCE: Ian Begley, ESPN New York

Carmelo Anthony, F1/23/2014 8:32:00 PM
Description: Carmelo Anthony will be representing the Knicks in next month's All-Star Game in New Orleans.
Insight: He was voted in by the fans, though even if he hadn't, he probably still would have made the team. Anthony's scoring is down from last season (26.1 ppg this season compared to 28.7 ppg in 2012-13) but his rebounding numbers have never been higher (career-high 9.0 rpg).
Andrea Bargnani, F1/23/2014 6:39:00 PM
Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani fell to the ground on an ill-advised dunk attempt Wednesday against the Sixers. Thursday, an MRI revealed a torn ligament in Bargnani's left elbow. SOURCE: Steve Popper, NorthJersey.com
Insight: The seven-footer will be out indefinitely. With Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin already banged up, Carmelo Anthony is going to have to play power forward with J.R. Smith filling in at the three. The Knicks are an absolute disaster right now and if things get much worse, the team could opt to start over by dealing Carmelo at the trade deadline.

Insight: Prigioni could even start if coach Mike Woodson decides to bench struggling Iman Shumpert. Prigioni has yet to show much fantasy value. but he's a solid defender that could help the Knicks at this point.
Carmelo Anthony, F1/17/2014 9:57:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points Friday against the Clippers, but it wasn't pretty. Melo made only four of his 23 field goal attempts (.174).
Insight: That is a tough FG% pill for fantasy owners to swallow, but at least Anthony made 16-of-16 from the foul line, hit two threes and had 20 rebounds, three assists and two steals. The 29-year-old is averaging a career-high 9.0 boards per game.
J.R. Smith, SG1/17/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard J.R. Smith has nailed 25-of-49 (.510) from the field over his last four games.

Description: New York's point guard situation just got a little more complicated. Pablo Prigioni broke his right big toe in Monday night's loss to Washington. He'll be out at least two weeks. SOURCE: Ian Begley, ESPN New York
Insight: With Raymond Felton also out, Beno Udrih is the only healthy point guard on the Knicks' roster. Look for him to see huge minutes while Felton and Prigioni are on the shelf. Prigioni's injury should give the Knicks even more incentive to trade for Kyle Lowry.
Kenyon Martin, PF12/16/2013 8:32:00 PM
Description: New York power forward Kenyon Martin wasn't in the lineup Monday against Washington and fantasy owners shouldn't expect him back anytime soon. SOURCE: Knicks on Twitter

J.R. Smith, SGCold12/15/2013 10:26:00 AM
Description: Knicks guard J.R. Smith reportedly had a heated exchange with coach Mike Woodson after Wednesday's win over the Bulls. According to a team source, Woodson criticized Smith's poor shot selection and then became upset when Smith made a comment on the bench. SOURCE: nydailynews.com
Insight: During Thursday's practice, Woodson sat down with Smith and went over the game film to demonstrate moments when Smith forced shots instead of passing. Smith's response was to take one shot in 27 minutes Friday. Woodson moved Smith into the starting lineup Saturday but he had just two points on 1-of-8 shooting in 24 minutes. Fantasy owners should not play Smith until he strings together a couple of good shooting games.

Kenyon Martin, PF12/14/2013 10:47:00 AM

Description: Knicks point guard Raymond Felton aggravated his left hamstring injury in the third quarter Tuesday night and is doubtful for Wednesday's game, according to the New York Post.

Description: Knicks guard J.R. Smith is probable for Thursday's game against Brooklyn while dealing with a sore left knee.
Insight: Smith is averaging just nine points over his last four games and is 5-of-19 from three-point range over the span. Its probably a good idea to sit him until he finds his shooting touch again.

Insight: After seeing little usage over the first three weeks, Udrih has started the last two games with Raymond Felton out with a hip injury. He played just 18 minutes and had zero points Tuesday at Detroit, though, and Felton could be back as soon as Saturday at Washington.

Raymond Felton, PGCold11/19/2013 11:05:00 AM

Metta World Peace, F11/16/2013 6:39:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Metta World Peace is dealing with a sore left knee and won't play Saturday.
Insight: World Peace's role this season has been dependent on the opponent. He's averaging 24 minutes, 9.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.0 threes per game, making him a low-level fantasy option when healthy. Iman Shumpert and Tim Hardaway Jr. will likely absorb World Peace's minutes Saturday.
Andrea Bargnani, FHot11/14/2013 10:58:00 AM
Description: Knicks PF/C Andrea Bargnani has played three games since center Tyson Chandler went down with an injury and he's averaging 20.3 ppg.
Insight: Bargnani is getting the majority of the center minutes and he's been on the floor for just over 30 minutes per game with Chandler out. He should be good for at least three more weeks and fantasy owners should be taking advantage.
Iman Shumpert, G11/13/2013 9:52:00 PM
Description: Iman Shumpert's name has been mentioned in a proposed trade between the Knicks and Nuggets. SOURCE: Marc Stein, ESPN
Insight: The swap would send Kenneth Faried to New York with Shumpert going to Denver. The Knicks are already loaded at guard and could really use a big man now that Tyson Chandler is out with a broken leg. No deal is imminent.
J.R. Smith, SG11/13/2013 11:27:00 AM

J.R. Smith, SG11/12/2013 6:22:00 PM
Description: According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Knicks coach Mike Woodson said J.R. Smith is a candidate to start Wednesday against the Hawks.
Insight: Smith practiced with the starters Tuesday. If he starts Wednesday, it will likely be Pablo Prigioni moving to the bench rather than Iman Shumpert.
J.R. Smith, SG11/11/2013 4:39:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard J.R. Smith, who had offseason knee surgery and was suspended for the first five games after failing several drug tests for marijuana, went 1-of-9 from the field with five points and four turnovers Sunday against the Spurs. However, he wasn't making any excuses for his dreadful performance after the game. SOURCE: nypost.com
Insight: "I didn't feel rusty at all," said Smith. "I just missed a lot of shots, Didn't get to the basket like I wanted to. Overall I didn't have a good game. We kind of had a lid on the rim today." The reigning Sixth Man of the Year should find his rhythm soon.
J.R. Smith, SG11/9/2013 1:00:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard J.R. Smith will make his season debut Sunday against the Spurs, according to Ian Begley of ESPNNY.com. He'll come off the bench.
Insight: Smith's five-game suspension is over. He came off the bench in all 80 games last season but still played 33.5 minutes per game and averaged 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.9 threes to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. Iman Shumpert will remain in the starting lineup for now, but look for his minutes to drop from the 31 per game he has played so far.
Carmelo Anthony, F11/8/2013 9:39:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony came into Friday's game against the Bobcats with a .371 shooting percentage but made 12-of-22 from the field for 28 points.
Insight: He's scored 30 ppg his last two contests after averaging 21 his first three. Melo is also averaging 9.2 rebounds per game, and while that average is boosted by 17 rebounds against the Timberwolves, he's had at least five boards in all five games and eight or more in three.
Andrea Bargnani, F11/8/2013 9:36:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani made 11-of-25 from the field and scored 25 points with eight rebounds and a shocking five blocks Friday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Bargnani started at center in place of the injured Tyson Chandler and played 35 minutes. He should remain there and get consistent minutes until Chandler returns in a 4-6 weeks, but remember that he won't be playing the Bobcats (without Al Jefferson) every game.
Andrea Bargnani, F11/6/2013 4:07:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Andrea Bargnani could see time at the five while Tyson Chandler is out with a broken leg. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: Bargnani has the height to play center (he's seven feet) but he's mostly played power forward throughout his career. He's gotten off to a rather uninspiring start with just 8.8 ppg in his first four contests.
Tyson Chandler, C11/6/2013 11:53:00 AM
Description: Knicks center Tyson Chandler will be out for the next 4-to-6 weeks after breaking his leg Tuesday against the Bobcats. SOURCE: Ian Begley, ESPN New York
Insight: This is the last thing New York needs after getting out to a disappointing 1-3 start. New York really isn't equipped to handle Chandler's loss as little-used Cole Aldrich is the only other center on the team's roster. Mike Woodson could use Andrea Bargnani at center, though his skill set lends itself more to playing as a three or a four. Undersized bigs Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin could be possibilities as well.
Metta World Peace, F11/5/2013 10:36:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Metta World Peace had 18 points, six boards, three steals and two threes over a season-high 32 minutes Tuesday against the Bobcats.
Insight: World Peace had 17 points, four rebounds, one steal and two threes in just 21 minutes Sunday after opening the season with two forgettable games. He'll continue to offer inconsistent production as Knicks coach Mike Woodson changes his rotation frequently.
Tyson Chandler, C11/5/2013 8:42:00 PM
Description: Knicks center Tyson Chandler (knee) will not return to Tuesday's game, according to MSG's Tina Cervasio.
Insight: Chandler banged knees with Charlotte's Kemba Walker in the first quarter and limped to the locker room with an ice pack on his knee. X-rays were inconclusive, so Chandler will have more tests Wednesday.
Tyson Chandler, C11/5/2013 8:22:00 PM
Description: Knicks center Tyson Chandler banged knees with Kemba Walker during the first quarter of Tuesday's game and limped to the locker room shortly thereafter.

Amare Stoudemire, FCold11/1/2013 9:37:00 AM
Description: New York power forward Amare Stoudemire played in Thursday's game against Chicago, logging under 11 minutes and scoring five points.
Insight: If this is what we can expect from the once-great fantasy option, Stoudemire isn't a fantasy option any longer. Playing only every other game and less than 15 minutes when he's in uniform will make him unplayable.
Andrea Bargnani, F10/31/2013 8:39:00 PM
Description: New York forward Andrea Bargnani got the start Thursday against Chicago.
Insight: Bargnani came off the bench in Wednesday night's season opener. Bargnani's inclusion in the lineup pushes Metta World Peace out of the starting five.
Amare Stoudemire, F10/31/2013 8:33:00 PM
Description: New York power forward Amare Stoudemire is active for Thursday's game against the Bulls but he's only expected to play about ten minutes. SOURCE: Newsday
Insight: Oh how the mighty have fallen. Once considered one of the premier forwards in all of basketball, injuries have sent the veteran into a tailspin over the past two seasons. Though tempting given his past accomplishments, Stoudemire isn't a fantasy option any longer.
Raymond Felton, PG10/31/2013 7:00:00 PM
Description: Raymond Felton is getting the start at point guard Thursday against Chicago. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: He tweaked his hamstring in the opener but it shouldn't be an issue going forward. Felton averaged 22.3 ppg in three meetings with the Bulls last season.
Amare Stoudemire, F10/31/2013 11:24:00 AM
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire (knee) did not play Wednesday in the season opener, but is probable for Thursday's game against Chicago
Insight: New York coach Mike Woodson plans to alternate Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin this season and Thursday would be Amare's day. We will see how long this strategy lasts.
Raymond Felton, PG10/31/2013 11:22:00 AM

Metta World Peace, F10/30/2013 10:29:00 PM
Description: Metta World Peace played 18 minutes and had four points, four rebounds and one steal in his Knicks regular season debut Wednesday against the Bucks.
Insight: World Peace attempted zero 3-pointers after taking 5.5 per game last season. While coach Mike Woodson is going to change his lineup based on the opponent and World Peace will get some starts, he doesn't need to be owned in any fantasy leagues.
Metta World Peace, F10/30/2013 6:47:00 PM
Description: Neither Metta World Peace nor Andrea Bargnani will start New York's season opener against the Bucks on Wednesday.
Insight: Mike Woodson is rolling with Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler as his starting five. Woodson plans on changing up the lineup on a game-by-game basis, however.
J.R. Smith, SG10/30/2013 6:45:00 PM
Description: Knicks guard J.R. Smith's five-game suspension will kick in Wednesday.

Amare Stoudemire, F10/30/2013 6:40:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire (knee) will not play Wednesday in the season opener.

Description: Knicks power forward Andrea Bargnani will come off the bench to start the season. SOURCE: New York Post
Insight: New York will stick with Carmelo Anthony at power forward with Metta World Peace starting at the three. Bargnani and Amare Stoudemire will have to battle it out for minutes at the four when Anthony is on the bench or playing small forward.
Amare Stoudemire, F10/29/2013 5:54:00 PM
Description: Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire (knee) will suit up Wednesday, according to Ian Begley of ESPNNY.com.
Insight: Stoudemire had offseason knee surgery and was questionable for the season opener, but he's managed to get himself ready to play. The forward is expected to be on a limit of 20-25 minutes per game and won't play in both games of back-to-back sets.
Metta World Peace, F10/28/2013 8:27:00 PM
Description: Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he is considering starting Metta World Peace over Andrea Bargnani in the season opener, according to Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork.com.
Insight: Bargnani struggled mightily on defense and also only shot 38 percent during the preseason. Plus, starting World Peace would allow Carmelo Anthony to play power forward, where he played most of last season when he won the scoring title.
Amare Stoudemire, F10/22/2013 7:40:00 PM
Description: According to Al Iannazzone of Newsday, Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire (knee) scrimmaged during Tuesday's practice.
Insight: It was the first time he did that since having knee surgery in July and is a sign he'll be available for the season opener. However, he's expected to be on a limit of 20-25 minutes per game and won't play in back-to-back sets.
Amare Stoudemire, F10/18/2013 4:40:00 PM
Description: According to Ian Begley of ESPNNY.com, Knicks F Amare Stoudemire (knee) hasn't been cleared for contact yet.
Insight: We don't expect the oft-injured Stoudemire to be ready anytime close to Oct. 30 after having knee surgery in the offseason. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on him as anything more than a late-round selection.

Beno Udrih, G8/8/2013 12:06:00 PM
Description: Former Bucks and Magic point guard Beno Udrih has agreed to a one-year deal with the Knicks. SOURCE: Al Iannazzone, Newsday
Insight: It's for the veteran's minimum. Udrih came on strong late last season, averaging 13.6 ppg in his final eight contests. With Raymond Felton running the point, Udrih will have to settle for a backup role in the Big Apple.
Kenyon Martin, PF7/24/2013 8:46:00 PM
Description: Newsday's Al Iannazzone reports that the Knicks have reached a deal with veteran power forward Kenyon Martin.
Insight: No terms were released but it's likely he signed for the veteran's minimum. Martin won't fill up the stat sheet but he'll give the Knicks some muscle and athleticism in the low post. Last season, the 35-year-old averaged 7.2 ppg on 60.2 percent shooting.
Carmelo Anthony, F7/17/2013 1:35:00 PM
Description: According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles, the Lakers are setting their sights on the summer of 2014, when they plan to offer contracts to impending free agents LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.
Insight: Dream big, right? Nobody thought the Rockets had a chance to land Dwight Howard last summer. Twelve months later, he's their franchise center. We've seen a lot of crazy things happen in free agency over the last few years so anything is possible. James and Anthony can both opt out of their contracts after next season. A Carmelo/Kobe/Lebron trio in L.A. might make the internet explode.
