Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Ivory Latta hit 5-of-7 shots from behind the arc en route to 19 points as the Washington Mystics cruised to an 82-56 win over the Connecticut Sun.
Tayler Hill chipped in 16 points off the bench, connecting on 4-of-5 from downtown as the Mystics won their second straight game. Kia Vaughn registered a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double and Monique Currie scored 13 points.
Washington made 12-of-17 from 3-point range on the night, a team-record for triples made in a single game. The Mystics are currently tied with Indiana for third place in the East.
Connecticut, short-handed without its three leading scorers, got 13 points and six rebounds from Mistie Bass while Sydney Carter contributed 11 points off the bench. The Sun have lost nine of 11 and have been eliminated from postseason contention.
The Mystics scored six straight points midway through the second quarter to take a 31-18 lead. Despite Iziane Castro Marques hitting a late three for Connecticut, Washington went into halftime with a 42-27 lead.
Bass netted the first four points of the second half but Latta responded with a triple to keep the Sun at bay, and Washington outscored Connecticut 26-13 in the final period.
