NBA Preview from The Sports Network

Monday, November 25th (All times Eastern)

Chicago Bulls (6-6) at Utah Jazz (1-14), 9 p.m.

( - The Chicago Bulls are once again toiling without the services of star guard Derrick Rose and will resume their six-game road trip Monday against the Utah Jazz.

Rose missed all of last season while recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee and subsequent surgery, then received bad news on his injured right knee Saturday. An MRI revealed Rose sustained a medial meniscus tear in the Bulls' 98-95 loss at Portland on Friday and he will have surgery on Monday.

The former NBA MVP is out indefinitely. Rose averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 10 games for Chicago, which fell to 0-3 on the trip after Sunday's 121-82 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Luol Deng scored a game-high 22 points, while Carlos Boozer and Mike Dunleavy added 14 points apiece in the loss. The Bulls shot 39.5 percent and the Clippers made 58.5 percent from the field.

"Give them credit, the Clippers are a great team offensively. Offensively in the first half we were fine," said Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau. "When you don't bring a defensive mindset you're in for long night. Nobody feels sorry for us. We have enough to get it done, we're all capable of playing better."

The Bulls are 1-6 on the road and will also visit Detroit and Cleveland.

Utah has struggled to a miserable 1-14 start and last won on Nov. 13 versus New Orleans. The Jazz have lost six in a row since then and went 0-3 on a recent road trip, culminating with Sunday's 95-73 loss at Oklahoma City.

No Jazz starter scored in double figures, as reserves Enes Kanter and Rudy Gobert scored 10 points apiece. Gordon Hayward had just five points, while Derrick Favors and Richard Jefferson netted eight apiece. Hayward entered the game averaging a team-best 17.8 points per game.

"When you're not scoring, it puts a lot of pressure on your defense to stop a team to keep the game close," Jazz forward Marvin Williams said. "Unfortunately for us, the team we had to stop was Oklahoma City. That's how a game can kind of get away from you pretty quickly."

Thunder star Kevin Durant scored 19 points before taking a seat in the fourth quarter for OKC.

Kanter, meanwhile, is questionable Monday with sprained right ankle.

Utah lost at Chicago on Nov. 8 and is winless in the past six meetings between the teams. The Bulls are 9-2 in the previous 11 games against the Jazz.
