Final Score: Portland 112, Boston 104
Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - LaMarcus Aldridge led seven Portland players in double figures with 21 points while also pulling down 13 rebounds to lead the Trail Blazers to a 112-104 win over the Boston Celtics.
Nicolas Batum added 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Wesley Matthews had 18 points and Robin Lopez finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Trail Blazers, winners in four of their last six.
Damian Lillard scored 15 points to go with six assists and C.J. McCollum finished with 10 points off the bench in the win.
"Well it's always good to get a win," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "You try not to be disappointed about not playing necessarily as well as you wanted to. Offensively, we were good and defensively, we were good when we needed to be. But this stretch of playing teams with a lesser record, apparently is tough for us to get up for. But in the end, it was good to get the win."
Avery Bradley scored a game-high 25 and Jared Sullinger added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who have dropped a season-high eight straight.
"We haven't been able to finish games out the way we've wanted to, we had a chance to win multiple games on this road trip. It's just unfortunate," Bradley said.
Jeff Green had 16 points and eight assists and Jordan Crawford scored 13 points and dished out six assists in the setback.
Jerryd Bayless knocked down a jumper 1:12 into the final frame to pull the Celtics within 90-89, but the Blazers used a 14-2 run, capped with a Batum 3- pointer, to create some distance.
The Celtics made it a two-possession game with a little over two minutes left on Green's layup, but Boston couldn't get closer than that the rest of the way.
Bradley scored 13 of his 25 in the first quarter to help Boston take a 32-27 lead. Boston's lead swelled to double figures, 51-41, with Bayless' pullup jumper with 4:53 left in the first half.
Portland used a 13-3 run to tie the game, and went into the break trailing just 60-58.
Matthews buried a trey at the 7:34 mark of the third to give Portland a 69-68 lead and the hosts held a 90-86 advantage entering the final frame.
Mo Williams scored 11 points off the bench for the Blazers ... Portland was 10-for-21 from 3-point range ... McCollum was 4-for-6 from the field and 2- for-3 from 3-point range in his second game of the season. He played just under 14 minutes ... Portland had 31 second-chance points ... Boston outscored the Blazers 46-34 in the paint ... Bayless had 12 points and six assists off the bench for the Celtics.
