Description: Sunday was an eventful night for Kings center Jeff Carter.
Insight: Carter netted two goals including one on the power play. He also assisted on Trevor Lewis' goal in the second period. Because all of that wasn't enough for Carter, he decided to punch a guy and get a ten-minute misconduct. Carter and the Kings have now win six straight games. They'll have a chance to make it seven in a row Monday night at Calgary.
Description: Los Angeles goalie Jonathan Quick is the projected starter against the Wild after leaving the ice first during Tuesday's morning skate.
Insight: Quick beat the Canucks with 27 saves on 28 shots Saturday in his return to the lineup after missing 24 games with a groin injury. Both Ben Scrivens and Martin Jones were dominant in Quick's absence due in large part to Los Angeles' tremendous defense, and Quick should be able to continue their success if he's finally healthy.
Description: The Kings have sent goalie Martin Jones back to Manchester of the AHL. SOURCE: Kings on Twitter
Insight: The Kings needed to make room on their roster for Jonathan Quick. Jones did extremely well during his 11-game stint in the NHL (8-3, 1.41 GAA, .950 save percentage). If something happens to Quick or Ben Scrivens, Los Angeles won't hesitate to bring him back.
Description: Kings goalie Jonathan Quick could be back in the net Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Insight: Quick has been out with a strained groin since Nov. 12. Quick's fantasy owners actually caught a break when rookie Martin Jones started out 8-0-0 with three shutouts because it put a stop to Ben Scrivens' hot streak and removed any chance of a goalie controversy. The team will send Jones, who has lost three straight games, back to the minors and keep Scrivens on the bench behind Quick.
Description: Kings goalie Jonathan Quick made the trip with the team and could return the first week in January.
Insight: Quick has been out with a strained groin since Nov. 12. Quick (10-5-0, 2.35 GAA, .905 SV%) will take over as primary goaltender when healthy, though Ben Scrivens (7-4-4, 1.76 GAA, .938 SV%) has played well as his replacement.
Description: Los Angeles rookie Martin Jones tied a Bob Froese's NHL record with his eighth straight win to start his career Saturday.
Insight: Jones has taken the starting job away from Ben Scrivens despite Scrivens' league-leading .941 SV% and 1.66 GAA by putting up a 0.98 GAA, a .966 SV% and three shutouts. He's a must-own in all leagues. Jonathan Quick owners have to hope Jones cools off enough that the team can get away with sending him to the AHL when Quick returns from his groin strain in a couple of weeks.
Description: Los Angeles rookie Martin Jones continued his dominance Tuesday in a shutout win over Edmonton.
Insight: The 23-year-old hasn't allowed more than two goals in any game this season. Three of his first six games have been shutouts. Jones (24 saves on Tuesday) is definitely worth a look while Jonathan Quick remains sidelined with a groin strain.
Description: Kings goalie Martin Jones started and won his fifth straight game Saturday at Ottawa with 37 saves on 39 shots.
Insight: It looks like the Kings are rolling with the hot hand, and the 23-year-old rookie couldn't be hotter right now. He's allowed two goals or less in each of his five starts with two shutouts. Ben Scrivens hasn't played since Dec. 2.
Description: Kings backup goalie Martin Jones picked up a second straight shutout Tuesday at Montreal.
Insight: In his first three career starts, he's gone 3-0-0 with a 0.65 GAA and a .973 SV%. It seems any goalie the Kings plug in can get the job done for fantasy owners, including Jonathan Bernier last season, starter Jonathan Quick, Ben Scrivens and Jones. While Scrivens is 7-2-4 with a 1.56 GAA and a .943 SV% this season, Los Angeles has stuck with the hot hand in Jones the last three games.
Description: In just his second career start, Kings goalie Martin Jones recorded a shutout Saturday in a victory over the Islanders.
Insight: He finished with 16 saves. Jones is now 2-0 with a 0.97 GAA in two appearances. It will be interesting to see if head coach Darryl Sutter goes with the hot hand and keep Jones in for Tuesday's game in Montreal. His other option is Ben Scrivens.

Insight: Quick's original timetable for recovery was between four and six weeks so that sounds about right. Ben Scrivens has done remarkably well in Quick's absence, winning four straight with two shutouts during that span.
Description: Kings netminder Jonathan Quick left Tuesday's game in overtime with a groin injury and will miss Thursday's game against the NY Islanders.
Insight: Quick went back to Los Angeles for evaluation by team doctors rather than getting examined on the road. The 27-year-old is 10-5-0 with a 2.35 GAA and a .905 SV% this season. Backup Ben Scrivens will stand between the pipes. He has a 1.89 GAA and .924 save percentage in five games this season.
Description: Kings netminder Jonathan Quick left Tuesday's game in overtime with an apparent lower-body injury, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Insight: Quick will go back to Los Angeles for evaluation by team doctors rather than getting examined on the road. That means he'll likely miss Thursday's game in Long Island. The 27-year-old is 10-5-0 with a 2.35 GAA and a .905 SV% this season. If he has to miss time, backup Ben Scrivens would move into the net.
Description: Kings center Mike Richards has three goals and nine points during a five-game scoring streak.
Insight: Richards has attempted 22 SOG during the streak and has five goals and 17 points in 18 games this season. It's his best production since 2008, when he had 80 points in 79 games with Philadelphia. He'll probably settle in the 65-point range.
Description: Kings center Mike Richards scored again Saturday versus the Canucks.
Insight: Richards also added two assists. The former first-round pick has now scored at least once in each of his last three games. That's Richards' longest streak since November of 2011 when he scored in five straight games.
Description: Kings center Anze Kopitar had three helpers Saturday against Dallas.
Insight: Kopitar doesn't have a goal yet, but he does have eight assists in the first nine games. He's scored at least 61 points in each of his six full seasons and had 42 in 47 games during the lockout-shortened 2012-13 campaign.
Description: Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick had his best start of the season Friday at Carolina, saving 27 shots in a 2-1 shootout victory.
Insight: Quick had a 3.13 GAA over his first four starts this season. Fantasy owners are looking for a return to his 2011-12 form after he had a 2.45 GAA and one shutout in 37 games last season. He'll likely start again at Florida Sunday.
Description: Kings defenseman Drew Doughty scored a goal in Los Angeles' season opener Thursday against Minnesota.
Insight: Doughty didn't score his first goal until his 29th game last season after producing an average of 12 goals per season from 2009-12, but he notched five goals in the final month of the season and got off to a good start Thursday.
Description: Kings captain Dustin Brown signed an eight-year, $47 million contract extension Thursday. SOURCE: Pierre LeBrun, ESPN
Insight: Brown has one year left on his current contract, so he'll be with the Kings for nine more seasons. The 28-year-old has been more important to his real team than to fantasy teams in his career; he's never had more than 60 points in any season despite not missing more than four games in any season since 2005-06.
Description: Left wing Daniel Carcillo was traded to the Kings on Tuesday. SOURCE: Joe Yerdon, NBC Sports
Insight: The Blackhawks picked up a conditional draft pick in 2015 as part of the exchange. Carcillo has never produced more than 24 points in a single season. It's probably because he can never stay healthy. In seven seasons, Carcillo has only played more than 60 games once.
Description: Los Angeles center Anze Kopitar had his best game of the series Saturday versus the Blackhawks.
Insight: He scored his third goal of the postseason early in the third period before delivering a clutch assist to send the game into overtime. Kopitar finished with nine points in 18 postseason games.
Description: Kings center Jeff Carter found the net twice Wednesday in a win over St. Louis.
Insight: Carter has now scored in back-to-back games after being held scoreless in the first three games of the series. The defending champs hold a 3-2 edge in the series with Game 6 coming up Friday night in Los Angeles.
Description: Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick has a 1.81 GAA and a .940 SV% in two games against the Blues this postseason, but Los Angeles is down 2-0.
Insight: Quick allowed Alex Steen to steal the puck from him behind the net and score the game-winner in overtime in Game 1 and blew a 1-0 lead in Game 2 Thursday by allowing two goals in the third period. Quick only lost four games in all of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs en route to winning the Conn Smythe Trophy and a Stanley Cup.
Description: Kings defenseman Matt Greene (back) has been activated off injured reserve after missing 42 games. SOURCE: Associated Press
Insight: Greene suffered a herniated disk in his back in the season opener and was thought to be lost for the rest of the season, but he has been practicing in recent weeks. He doesn't contribute much offensively so he's more important to the Kings than your fantasy team.
Description: Kings defenseman Drew Doughty scored his second goal of the season Saturday against Edmonton.
Insight: It has been a lackluster season for Doughty, as he didn't score his first goal until March 19. He has also had to work hard to get his plus/minus out of the red after he started out with a -10 over his first 10 games, but he is now a +2 for the season.
Description: Kings winger Jeff Carter scored his 20th goal of the season Sunday against Dallas.
Insight: Carter has certainly cooled off after scoring a 11 goals in a nine-game span from Feb. 19 to March 9. Even with a goal Sunday, he has just three goals and five points over his last 12 games, but he has scored a goal in two straight and produced a point in three straight.
Description: Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick is expected to sit Tuesday against Phoenix after blanking those same Coyotes Monday for his first shutout of the season. Jonathan Bernier will start Tuesday as the Kings finish off a back-to-back.
Insight: Quick (10-8-2, 2.56 GAA, .896 SV%) hasn't been what fantasy owners expected but he has 19 games left to make things right. Bernier has been dominant in limited duty with a 1.94 GAA over 465 minutes.
Description: Kings left wing Kyle Clifford found the net twice Saturday in a victory over San Jose.
Insight: Saturday night represented half of Clifford's goal production this season. He's averaging less than 11 minutes of ice time per game, which is problematic for fantasy owners. On the bright side, he's been a solid source of penalty minutes for fantasy owners who are struggling in that category. His seven minutes in the sin bin Saturday gave Clifford 33 PIM for the season.
