Description: Cowboys QB Tony Romo will miss OTAs after having a cyst removed from his back last month.
Insight: This should have no effect on his fantasy value. He'll be ready for training camp and the regular season. Romo finished third in the NFL last season with a career-high 4,903 yards and has thrown at least 26 touchdown passes over his last five healthy seasons. Fantasy owners would like a reduction in interceptions (19 last season including three games of three or more).
Description: According to the National Football Post, Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano thought Mike Glennon was the best quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft and said he "can play quickly" if he is needed.
Insight: Tampa Bay drafted Glennon in the third round. The team did not give Josh Freeman a long-term extension this offseason, so we already know it isn't sold on him as the long-term answer at QB. Glennon could force the issue with a strong summer and preseason, much like Russell Wilson, the man he succeeded at NC State, did with Seattle last year.
Description: David Garrard has decided to retire due to a lingering knee injury, according to Adam Schein of SNY and NFL.com.
Insight: Garrard hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2010. His retirement means that Mark Sanchez only has to beat out rookie Geno Smith to be the Jets' starting quarterback again.
Description: A Philadelphia Inquirer report indicates that Matt Barkley could be the Eagles' Week 1 starter at quarterback.
Insight: The other candidates are Mike Vick and Nick Foles. Barkley fell all the way to the fourth round at the draft last month after entering the 2012 season as a possible No. 1 pick. This report sounds a little ambitious but anything's possible with the Eagles.
