Detroit Pistons Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Caron Butler, G/F7/13/2014 10:01:00 PM
Description: The Pistons have agreed to sign swingman Caron Butler to a one-year contract with a team option for a second year.
Insight: Butler averaged 10.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.8 3pg last season with the Bucks and Thunder. He'll back up Josh Smith at small forward and get some minutes at shooting guard, but isn't likely to be a fantasy option. The Pistons have a lot of players capable of playing shooting guard after signing Butler and Jodie Meeks this offseason.
D.J. Augustin, G7/13/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: The Pistons have signed veteran point guard D.J. Augustin.
Insight: He signed for two years and $6 million, according to NBA reporter David Aldridge. Augustin averaged 14.9 points, 5.0 assists, and 2.2 threes over 61 games with the Bulls last season after the Raptors got rid of him, but he won't see 30.4 minutes per game as Brandon Jennings' backup. There's going to be a battle for minutes in the Pistons backcourt, as the team added Augustin and Caron Butler to Jennings, Will Bynum, Peyton Siva, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Singler and Jodie Meeks on Sunday.
Jodie Meeks, G7/1/2014 9:36:00 PM
Description: The Pistons have signed swingman Jodie Meeks to a three-year, $19 million contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
Insight: Meeks' fantasy value isn't going to be any higher than it was last season, when he averaged 33.2 minutes per game for a depleted Lakers club and recorded 15.7 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.1 3pg and 1.4 spg. Rodney Stuckey isn't expected to re-sign with Detroit, but the Pistons still have second-year guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Singler as well as several high-usage offensive players in Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith and Greg Monroe.
Greg Monroe, PF5/14/2014 12:14:00 PM
Description: With Stan Van Gundy as the new team president and head coach, the Pistons aren't likely to re-sign restricted free agent Greg Monroe this offseason. SOURCE: Sean Deveney, Sporting News
Insight: The team would prefer to build around second-year center Andre Drummond. Detroit would be able to match any contract offer Monroe gets on the open market this summer though it doesn't look like they will. The Pistons could also work out a sign and trade deal like the one they pulled off last season to acquire Brandon Jennings from Milwaukee.
Rodney Stuckey, G4/16/2014 7:56:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey won't be available Wednesday against OKC. SOURCE: Mark Champion, Pistons radio play-by-play
Insight: No reason has been given for his absence. Stuckey (13.9 ppg) will be replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (5.6 ppg).
Josh Smith, F4/13/2014 10:17:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith (knee) missed his fourth straight game on Sunday.
Insight: Smith is dealing with patellar tendinitis in his left knee. His absence the last four games has allowed Rodney Stuckey to start, and Stuckey has averaged 21 ppg in that span.
Andre Drummond, CHot4/11/2014 10:18:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond put 26 points, 26 rebounds and three steals on the board Friday night at Chicago.
Insight: Drummond has been a machine lately, throwing up seven straight double-doubles with an average of 17.3 points and 17.9 rebounds during that span.
Will Bynum, G4/11/2014 6:39:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum (foot) will not play Friday against Chicago, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
Insight: Bynum will miss his fifth straight game. His absence means more minutes for Brandon Jennings, Rodney Stuckey and Peyton Siva.
Josh Smith, F4/11/2014 6:38:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith (knee) is out Friday against the Bulls, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
Insight: Smith is dealing with patellar tendinitis in his left knee. His absence the last two games has allowed Rodney Stuckey to move into the starting lineup.
Josh Smith, F4/11/2014 1:52:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith (knee) missed a second straight game Wednesday and is questionable for Friday's game against Chicago.
Insight: Smith is dealing with patellar tendinitis in his left knee. His absence allows Rodney Stuckey to move into the starting lineup.
Josh Smith, F4/9/2014 6:04:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith (knee) will miss a second straight game Wednesday against the Cavaliers, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Insight: Smith is dealing with patellar tendinitis in his left knee. His absence allowed Rodney Stuckey to move into the starting lineup, and Stuckey had 29 points in 39 minutes.
Andre Drummond, CHot4/8/2014 10:09:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond had 19 points, 17 rebounds, two blocks and two steals Tuesday at Atlanta.
Insight: Drummond has averaged 16.8 points and 17 boards during a string of five straight double-doubles.
Rodney Stuckey, GHot4/8/2014 10:06:00 PM
Description: Drawing the start in place of Josh Smith, Rodney Stuckey had 29 points for the Pistons Tuesday night.
Insight: Smith missed the game with patellar tendinitis. Stuckey has averaged 27.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in his last two games.
Josh Smith, F4/8/2014 7:35:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith is out Tuesday due to left patellar tendinitis, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com.
Insight: We knew Smith wasn't in the starting lineup, and now we know he isn't playing at all. Rodney Stuckey is starting in his place.
Josh Smith, F4/8/2014 7:16:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Hawks, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com.
Insight: Rodney Stuckey is starting in his place. We're awaiting word on whether Smith is injured, being disciplined or out of the lineup altogether.
Will Bynum, G4/8/2014 2:42:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum (foot) will miss a third straight game Tuesday, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com.
Insight: Bynum doesn't have fantasy value, but his absence will mean more court time for Brandon Jennings, who does.
Rodney Stuckey, G4/5/2014 10:06:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey's 26 points Saturday against the Celtics were his most since Jan. 20.
Insight: Stuckey didn't shoot very well in February and March but he has hit 19-of-42 (.452) from the field and averaged 18.3 ppg the last three games. His minutes will be more consistent if Will Bynum (foot, missed last two games) remains out of the lineup.
Will Bynum, G4/5/2014 7:11:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum (foot) will miss a second straight game Saturday, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com.
Insight: Peyton Siva and Rodney Stuckey saw more minutes Friday with Bynum (8.7 ppg, 3.9 apg) out.
Andre Drummond, C4/4/2014 10:28:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond racked up 23 points and 18 rebounds Friday in a loss to Brooklyn.
Insight: Drummond has produced 14 or more rebounds in each of his last three games. He's one of three players in the NBA averaging at least 13 ppg and 12 rpg this season (Dwight Howard and Kevin Love).
Josh Smith, F4/2/2014 9:41:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith has scored 50 points on 20-of-39 shooting the last two games.
Insight: Smith has actually attempted more shots per game this season than last (16.2 to 15.6) but he has averaged fewer points per game (17.5 to 16.5) because he has hit a career-low .418 from the field.
Greg Monroe, PFHot3/31/2014 10:20:00 PM
Description: Detroit power forward Greg Monroe wrapped up a very good month of March with 28 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks Monday against he Bucks.
Insight: Monroe averaged 16.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in March. It was the first month this season in which he averaged a double-double.
Brandon Jennings, G3/26/2014 10:17:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings did all that he could Wednesday in a loss to Cleveland.
Insight: He finished with 17 points, 13 assists, five boards and two steals. Five of the six field goals he made were from three-point range. Jennings now has 17 double-doubles this season. That's a career-high.
Andre Drummond, C3/21/2014 6:41:00 PM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond says he'll be active for Friday's game versus Phoenix. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: Drummond suffered a scary neck injury last week against the Pacers but only ended up missing one game. His return bumps Kyle Singler (9.4 ppg) out of the starting lineup.
Andre Drummond, C3/21/2014 11:04:00 AM
Description: Detroit big man Andre Drummond (neck) appeared healthy at Thursday's practice, according to an nba.com report.
Insight: Drummond missed his first game of the season Wednesday against Denver. He'll get a full medical report after the Friday morning shootaround and then we will know more. Greg Monroe would play center if Drummond can't go.
Andre Drummond, C3/20/2014 7:52:00 PM
Description: The plan is for Andre Drummond to have his neck re-evaluated Friday after shootaround. If everything checks out, he could play later that night against the Suns. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: Drummond missed his first game of the season Wednesday against Denver. Greg Monroe (22 points, four steals on Wednesday) will lose some of his effectiveness when Drummond (13.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 1.8 bpg) resurfaces.
Andre Drummond, C3/17/2014 2:36:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond (neck) will not play on Wednesday and he's questionable to play Friday, according to beat writer Dave Pemberton.
Insight: Tests showed no structural damage in Drummond's neck. Drummond (13.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 1.8 bpg) took a spill after bumping into Roy Hibbert Saturday against Indiana. Jonas Jerebko and Charlie Villanueva each will see increased minutes, though neither is fantasy worthy. Greg Monroe will shift over to center and should be guaranteed double-digit rebounds.
Andre Drummond, C3/16/2014 12:56:00 PM
Description: All of Andre Drummond's tests on his head and neck came back negative. SOURCE: Detroit Free Press
Insight: Drummond (13.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 1.8 bpg) took a spill after bumping into Roy Hibbert Saturday against Indiana. The injury isn't considered serious though it's uncertain whether or not Drummond will play Wednesday against the Nuggets.
Greg Monroe, PF3/15/2014 10:24:00 PM
Description: Filling in for Andre Drummond (head/neck injury) at center, Greg Monroe posted 17 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and three steals Saturday in a loss to Indiana.
Insight: Drummond went down in the first quarter at which point Monroe shifted to center with Josh Smith sliding over to the four. Monroe's three rejections tied a season-high. He'll have a few days off before Wednesday night's game in Denver.
Andre Drummond, C3/15/2014 8:10:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond suffered a head injury Saturday against Indiana. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: Drummond got tangled up with Paul George and Roy Hibbert while going for a loose ball and appeared to take a shot from Hibbert. He was on the ground for several minutes before being helped off the court. Though the Pistons haven't made an official announcement yet, it looks like Drummond will be out for the rest of tonight's game. For now, Detroit will go with Greg Monroe at center, Josh Smith at power forward and Kyle Singler at the three.
Brandon Jennings, G3/12/2014 10:09:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings broke out of a slump with 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting (4-6 3PT) Wednesday at Toronto.
Insight: Jennings had hit just 49-of-150 (.327) from the field in his previous 13 games. He followed up his last brutal cold streak with a 10-game hot streak, so hopefully he's about to do that again.
Andre Drummond, C3/12/2014 9:48:00 AM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond suffered a right finger injury in Tuesday's win over Sacramento. SOURCE: Vincent Goodwill, Detroit News
Insight: He played through it so we don't think fantasy owners have much to be concerned about. Even with the bad finger, Drummond still produced 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots. The win snapped Detroit's three-game losing streak.
Kyle Singler, G3/11/2014 10:53:00 PM
Description: Pistons shooting guard Kyle Singler had 11 points, seven rebounds, five steals, three assists, two threes and a block in 40 minutes Tuesday against Sacramento.
Insight: Singler has averaged 35.5 minutes, 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 threes, 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks in 17 games since he inherited the starting shooting guard job from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Brandon Jennings, GCold3/11/2014 10:17:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings hit just one of his 10 field-goal attempts Tuesday and had five points.
Insight: One thing we've seen with Jennings is that when things go bad with his shot, they go REALLY bad. For example he shot just 26.7 percent in 10 games from Dec. 28 to Jan. 20 and has hit only 49-of-150 (.327) in his last 13. In between those two frigid streaks, however, he put up 24.7 ppg on .426 shooting in 10 games. You just have to ride out the slumps when it comes to owning the Pistons point guard.
Rodney Stuckey, G3/11/2014 10:16:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey played 32 minutes and had 23 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals Tuesday against the Kings.
Insight: He played 33 minutes combined the previous two games and continues to have an unpredictable role.
Josh Smith, FHot3/11/2014 10:11:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith threw up a second straight 20-point game Tuesday against Sacramento, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two threes.
Insight: Smith has hit five threes on eight shots his last two games, which is scary because it may encourage him to take more of them. He's shooting just 24.5 percent from 3-point range on 3.3 attempts per game this season.
Andre Drummond, C3/9/2014 9:16:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond (18 points, 22 rebounds) recorded his 45th double-double of the season Sunday against the Celtics.
Insight: All three of Detroit's starting front court players had double-doubles on Sunday. Drummond has collected 16 rpg over his last six contests. His 13.1 rpg average this season is third in the league behind DeAndre Jordan (13.9 rpg) and Kevin Love (13.2 rpg).
Greg Monroe, PFHot3/9/2014 9:14:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Greg Monroe meant business Sunday against Boston.
Insight: Monroe chipped in with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting. He was active on the boards as well, corralling 15 rebounds in 39 minutes of action. The 23-year-old out of Georgetown has delivered 23 ppg and 12 rpg over his last three appearances.
Josh Smith, F3/9/2014 9:03:00 PM
Description: Josh Smith jump-started the Pistons' offense with 28 points Sunday against Boston.
Insight: Smith has always been in love with three-pointers for no apparent reason but tonight, he actually made a few of them (3-of-6). The Pistons have been awful lately, losing seven of their last eight contests. Fortunately for fantasy owners, Smith has averaged 20.8 ppg during that span.
Rodney Stuckey, GCold3/8/2014 4:52:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey didn't play in the second half Friday night because interim coach John Loyer "just decided to" go with rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Insight: The Pistons continue to jerk Stuckey's minutes around, making him a frustrating player to own in fantasy. After averaging 28 minutes, 16.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists from Jan. 17 to Feb. 10, Stuckey has put up just 10.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.6 apg in 24.6 mpg his last 11 games.
Greg Monroe, PFHot3/7/2014 10:32:00 PM
Description: Pistons power forward Greg Monroe was large and in charge Friday in a 13-point loss to Minnesota.
Insight: His box score included 20 points, 15 boards and one assist. Monroe (14.8 ppg, 9.0 rpg) has now put together back-to-back 20-point games for the first time since December.
Andre Drummond, C3/2/2014 9:44:00 AM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond made his presence felt Saturday in a loss at Houston.
Insight: Drummond (13.2 ppg, 12.9 rpg) has finished with exactly 16 points and 17 rebounds in each of his last two games. He also blocked two shots Saturday, the same number he had Wednesday versus San Antonio. Now how's that for consistency?
Brandon Jennings, G3/1/2014 7:09:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings is active for Saturday's game against Houston. SOURCE: Vincent Goodwill, Detroit News
Insight: He had been questionable with a toe injury. Jennings had a miserable shooting night the last time he played the Rockets (2-for-11 for eight points). We'll see how he does this time around.
Brandon Jennings, G3/1/2014 12:13:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings exited Wednesday's game with a sprained toe and is questionable for Saturday's game against Houston.
Insight: Jennings has put up excellent fantasy numbers this season (16.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.5 spg, two threes per contest), in addition to a career-high 7.9 apg and the Pistons will be hard-pressed to fill the void if he can't run. Will Bynum is the most likely candidate to try.
Will Bynum, G2/26/2014 10:57:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum took over at point guard after Brandon Jennings left with a toe injury Wednesday against the Spurs and finished with 18 points and nine assists in 31 minutes.
Insight: Jennings only played 13 minutes and didn't score. His absence also allowed Rodney Stuckey to get 31 minutes, and Stuckey put up 17 points and four assists. The Pistons don't play again until Saturday so Jennings might not have to miss a game.
Brandon Jennings, G2/26/2014 10:13:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings exited Wednesday's game with a sore toe and is questionable to return, according to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News.
Insight: Detroit is down double digits to the Spurs on the road late in the third quarter, so it wouldn't surprise us if the Pistons just held out Jennings for the rest of the game. Will Bynum and Rodney Stuckey will handle point guard duties in his absence.
Chauncey Billups, G2/24/2014 10:42:00 AM
Description: Pistons guard Chauncey Billups is out indefinitely after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last week.
Insight: The 37-year-old Billups will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks and may not return this season. He wasn't helping fantasy owners at his current production level (3.8 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 2.2 apg) so this won't change much.
Greg Monroe, CHot2/22/2014 10:28:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Greg Monroe had another strong game Saturday with 17 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks in 40 minutes against Dallas.
Insight: Monroe has had his best month of the season in February. Over 11 games, he has recorded 16.1 points, 9.8 boards, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks. He has picked up eight rejections his last five games after failing to block a single shot in the 24 prior contests.
Brandon Jennings, G2/21/2014 10:38:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings salvaged a poor shooting night (3-for-12) by supplying 14 assists Friday against Atlanta.
Insight: It was Jennings' 17th game with double-digit assists. He's fifth among point guards in double-doubles behind Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, John Wall and Ty Lawson.
Greg Monroe, C2/21/2014 10:33:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Greg Monroe did it all Friday in a win against Atlanta.
Insight: Monroe led the team with 22 points on 10-for-17 shooting. He also collected a game-high 15 rebounds to go with two blocked shots. Monroe was one of three Pistons to score at least 20 points on Friday.
Kyle Singler, G2/18/2014 10:02:00 PM
Description: Pistons shooting guard Kyle Singler had 13 points, three steals and three treys Tuesday against Charlotte.
Insight: Singler has started the last six games and averaged 38.3 minutes, 12 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 threes and 1.8 steals in that span. His increased playing time has come at the expense of Rodney Stuckey and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
Rodney Stuckey, GCold2/18/2014 9:59:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey played just 17 minutes and had two points on 1-of-11 shooting Tuesday against Charlotte.
Insight: Stuckey played 12 minutes and scored four points in Detroit's last game before the All-Star break after averaging 28 minutes, 16.5 points and 3.2 rebounds from Jan. 17 to Feb. 10 (13 games). His playing time and game are too inconsistent to trust in fantasy leagues.
Andre Drummond, C2/18/2014 9:56:00 PM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond had 16 points, 22 rebounds, two blocks and one steal Tuesday against the Bobcats.
Insight: Drummond was the Rising Stars MVP during All-Star weekend with 30 points and 25 rebounds, but grabbing 20+ boards in a real game is much more impressive. He has done that three times this season and is averaging more than 13 boards per game.
Andre Drummond, C2/15/2014 9:19:00 AM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond is your 2014 NBA Rising Stars Challenge MVP.
Insight: His 30 points helped Team Hill to a 142-136 victory over Team Webber. The 25 rebounds Drummond corralled were a Rising Stars record. The 20-year-old is quickly becoming one of the most dominant big men in the NBA.
Will Bynum, G2/9/2014 1:51:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum won't have to worry about being in coach Mo Cheeks' doghouse anymore, because Cheeks was fired on Sunday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of yahoo.com.
Insight: Bynum got into an argument with Cheeks after playing just three minutes in the first half Wednesday, was benched in the second half and did not enter either of the last two games. He has averaged just 18 minutes, 7.7 points and 2.8 assists per game this season, but his presence affects Rodney Stuckey and Kyle Singler. The Pistons have been using Singler as the starting two-guard and giving Stuckey the majority of the backup point and shooting guard minutes with rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope sprinkled in.
Rodney Stuckey, GHot2/8/2014 10:16:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey has averaged 16.2 ppg his last 12 games.
Insight: Stuckey scored 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting Saturday and added four rebounds and three assists. He's been getting most of the backup point guard and shooting guard minutes lately, especially since Will Bynum got into an argument with coach Mo Cheeks. Bynum hasn't played the last two games (DNP-CDs).
Brandon Jennings, GHot2/8/2014 10:13:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings dumped in 35 points and handed out 12 assists Saturday against the Nuggets.
Insight: Jennings has scored at least 20 points in eight of the last nine games and averaged 25.1 ppg in that span.
Josh Smith, FHot2/8/2014 10:11:00 PM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith missed the last 10 minutes Friday night after twisting his ankle, but he sat just two minutes Saturday against Denver and had 30 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, four steals and one block in the victory.
Insight: Smith has scored 23+ points in three straight games and averaged 10 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals in that span.
Josh Smith, F2/8/2014 6:34:00 PM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith (ankle) is expected to play Saturday night, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com.
Insight: Smith twisted his ankle and sat out the last 10 minutes Friday night, but says he is OK. He's warming up and will play unless he has a setback.
Kyle Singler, G2/8/2014 4:26:00 PM
Description: Pistons coach Mo Cheeks said the starting shooting guard "... could be a game-to-game situation." SOURCE: mlive.com
Insight: Kyle Singler started the last two games and averaged 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 3.0 threes. Rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has played just 12.3 minutes per game in February and Will Bynum got into an argument with Cheeks during Wednesday's loss and didn't played Friday, so it looks like Singler's job to lose at the moment.
Josh Smith, F2/8/2014 10:58:00 AM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith had a big night (23 points, 8 rebounds, seven assists, but turned an ankle late in the game.
Insight: Figure Smith as questionable for Saturday depending on how it stiffens up during the night.
Brandon Jennings, GHot2/7/2014 10:32:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings stayed hot Friday in a win over Brooklyn.
Insight: Jennings (26 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists) was one assist shy of a triple-double. Hopefully Jennings' fantasy owners will be able to look past the eight turnovers he committed on Friday.
Andre Drummond, C2/7/2014 10:16:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond delivered 16 points and 22 rebounds Friday in a win against Brooklyn.
Insight: The 22 boards were a career-high for Drummond, who is the midst of a five-game double-double streak. He'll try and extend it to six in a row tomorrow night against Denver.
Chauncey Billups, G2/7/2014 11:00:00 AM
Description: Pistons guard Chauncey Billups is questionable for Friday's game against Brooklyn.
Insight: The 37-year-old Billups' days of being a useful fantasy contributor appear to be over. He hasn't played in almost a month and even then was used sparingly.
Brandon Jennings, GHot2/3/2014 11:40:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings has scored at least 20 points in six straight games.
Insight: Jennings made 7-of-15 from the field (two threes) and 10-of-12 from the foul line for 26 points Monday against the Heat. He has averaged 18.7 field-goal attempts, 9.0 free throws and 25 points per game during his last six contests.
Rodney Stuckey, G2/3/2014 11:39:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey played 36 minutes Monday at Miami, his most since Dec. 15.
Insight: One game after leaving with lightheadedness, Stuckey made 8-of-17 shots, scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He's averaging 25.8 minutes per game this season and has played all 39 of his games off the bench.
Rodney Stuckey, G2/3/2014 4:42:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey will play Monday against the Miami Heat, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com
Insight: Stuckey left Saturday's game due to some lightheadedness. He averaged 25 minutes and 14.8 ppg in January, but contributed very little in other categories.
Andre Drummond, C2/2/2014 9:39:00 AM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond only needed 23 minutes to pick apart the Sixers on Saturday night.
Insight: Drummond nailed 10-of-11 shots for 22 points in Detroit's easy 17-point victory. The Motor City big man corralled 14 rebounds while also swatting away five blocks. Only Minnesota's Kevin Love has recorded more double-doubles than Drummond this season (40 for Love, 34 for Drummond).
Andre Drummond, C1/29/2014 9:59:00 AM
Description: Pistons big man Andre Drummond went off for 13 points, 17 rebounds and two blocks Tuesday in an easy win over the Magic.
Insight: And get this: he shot 3-of-4 from the free throw line! Drummond (12.6 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 1.8 bpg) is quickly becoming the best young center in the NBA. His emergence this year might ultimately make Greg Monroe (14.2 ppg, 8.8 rpg) expendable.
Brandon Jennings, GHot1/26/2014 10:05:00 PM
Description: Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith and Greg Monroe all had at least 20 points Sunday at Dallas but it didn't prevent the Pistons from losing by 10 points.
Insight: Jennings led the team with 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting and has averaged 28 ppg over his last three games after recording 11.1 ppg on .267 shooting his previous 10 games.
Andre Drummond, C1/24/2014 10:27:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond had a monster game Friday against the Pelicans.
Insight: Drummond ended up with 21 points, 20 rebounds and two blocks. He was his usual shaky self from the line (3-of-6) but aside from that, Drummond didn't give fantasy owners much to complain about on Friday. The 20-year-old was recently chosen as one of the 28 players on Team USA's preliminary roster for the World Cup of Basketball to be played later this summer.
Brandon Jennings, G1/22/2014 10:33:00 PM
Description: Brandon Jennings paced the Pistons with 30 points Wednesday in a loss to Milwaukee.
Insight: Jennings was held without a point in his previous outing so obviously Wednesday was a much better night for the 24-year-old. His shooting has been off all year (36.9 percent coming into Wednesday's game) but his 8.3 apg ranks fifth in the NBA.
Josh Smith, F1/20/2014 6:37:00 PM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith has scored at least 22 points in four of the last five games.
Insight: Unfortunately, he had only four points the one game he failed to score 22 in that span. He had 24 points on 12-of-22 shooting Monday against the Clippers but continues to be a miserable 3-point shooter. Smith has missed his last nine 3-point attempts and made just 4-of-31 (.129) from long distance over his last 11 games.
Brandon Jennings, GCold1/20/2014 6:34:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings has made just 35 of his 131 field-goal attempts over his last 10 games, a disgusting .267 percentage.

Rodney Stuckey, GHot1/20/2014 10:09:00 AM
Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey has reached the 20-point mark in his last two games.
Insight: While Stuckey's minutes continue to drop from 28 mpg in November to 23 in Decemeber and 19 in January, he's still playing well.
Rodney Stuckey, G1/17/2014 10:08:00 PM
Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey had 21 points in 21 minutes Friday against Utah.
Insight: Stuckey hasn't played more than 21 minutes since Dec. 23. He's been splitting time with Will Bynum off Detroit's bench.

Rodney Stuckey, G1/11/2014 6:40:00 PM
Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey only played three minutes Friday night after displaying poor energy when he was on the court.
Insight: Stuckey has been dealing with a shoulder injury since mid-December and sat out three games before returning Wednesday, but Friday's lack of playing time had nothing to do with the injury. Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports that Will Bynum is expected to see more minutes at point guard Saturday with Brandon Jennings at the two after that combo impressed coach Mo Cheeks Friday. Bynum had 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 34 minutes against Philadelphia.
Josh Smith, F1/10/2014 10:11:00 PM
Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith had quite a night Friday against the Sixers.
Insight: He finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, five blocks and four steals in 43 minutes of action. Smith continues to rely too heavily on the three-pointer (he attempted eight of them on Friday) but most nights his versatility offsets his poor shot selection.
Chauncey Billups, G1/8/2014 7:04:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Chauncey Billups won't be in action Wednesday against the Raptors. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: The 37-year-old generally sits out the second game of back-to-backs. Billups' days of being a useful fantasy contributor appear to be over.
Rodney Stuckey, G1/8/2014 6:59:00 PM
Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey will return to the lineup Wednesday against Toronto. SOURCE: Pistons.com
Insight: Stuckey (14.0 ppg) had sat out the previous three games because of a shoulder injury. It's unknown if he'll be on any kind of minutes restriction. Fantasy owners should proceed cautiously.

Description: Pistons PF Greg Monroe has averaged 20 points and 8.3 rebounds the last three games.
Insight: Monroe attempted at least 15 shots all three, including 17 in two. He didn't attempt more than 14 and averaged 10.3 per game the eight games prior.
Brandon Jennings, GCold1/7/2014 10:10:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings has made just 13-of-55 (.236) from the field while averaging 9.3 ppg his last four games.

Josh Smith, F1/7/2014 10:06:00 PM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith came away with 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals, two blocks and one three Tuesday at New York.
Insight: There are few players in the league who can fill up a stat sheet like Smith when he's on. The 28-year-old has averaged 18.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks over his last 11 games.
Rodney Stuckey, G1/7/2014 9:18:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey wasn't in the lineup Tuesday against the Knicks. SOURCE: Vincent Goodwill, Detroit News
Insight: Shoulder issues have sidelined Stuckey each of the last three games. Given his slow recovery, we'd be surprised if Stuckey (14.0 ppg) suits up Wednesday against the Raptors.
Andre Drummond, C1/5/2014 9:48:00 PM
Description: It didn't affect the outcome much but Pistons center Andre Drummond collected 15 points and 14 boards Sunday in a blowout loss to the Grizzlies.
Insight: Another day, another double-double for the 20-year-old UConn product. Drummond's offensive game is limited to mostly dunks and layups but at least he's been consistent. Detroit's next game is Tuesday night against the Knicks.
Rodney Stuckey, G1/4/2014 2:08:00 PM
Description: According to pistons.com's Keith Langlois, shooting guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) is not expected to play Sunday.

Brandon Jennings, G12/30/2013 10:40:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Brandon Jennings contributed 15 points and 14 assists in Monday's loss to Washington.
Insight: The 14 assists ties a season-high for Jennings. The 24-year-old seems to be stuck on that number. He's recorded 14 assists four times already this season.
Andre Drummond, C12/30/2013 10:33:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond filled up the stat sheet with 16 points and 16 rebounds in a losing effort Monday against the Wizards.

Rodney Stuckey, G12/30/2013 8:02:00 PM
Description: Pistons shooting guard Rodney Stuckey wasn't in the lineup Monday against the Wizards. SOURCE: Pistons.com
Insight: Stuckey tried to play through a shoulder injury on Saturday but only lasted six minutes. Martell Webster (12.5 ppg) should see more minutes in his absence.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/30/2013 2:42:00 PM
Description: Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) is questionable for Monday's game against Washington.
Insight: The Pistons have him listed as day-to-day after the MRI came back negative. he's averaging 14.0 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.2 apg.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/29/2013 1:25:00 PM
Description: An MRI on Rodney Stuckey's injured shoulder came back negative. SOURCE: David Mayo, MLive.com

Rodney Stuckey, G12/28/2013 7:54:00 PM
Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) attempted to play Saturday but he asked out of the game after just six minutes of action.

Description: Detroit shooting guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) is expected to play Saturday, according to Pistons announcer Mark Champion.

Brandon Jennings, G12/23/2013 9:32:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings had 21 points, 13 assists, two steals and two triples Monday against the Cavaliers.

Josh Smith, FHot12/23/2013 9:29:00 PM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith had 25 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, one steal and two threes Monday at Cleveland.
Insight: Smith shot just 38.5 percent from the field and averaged 13.8 ppg his first 24 games this season, but he has put up 23.8 ppg on 49.2 percent shooting his last six.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/21/2013 6:36:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) will return to action Saturday, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com.

Rodney Stuckey, G12/21/2013 11:12:00 AM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) missed the past two games and is questionable for Saturday's game against Houston.
Insight: He was clearly affected by a shoulder injury in Monday's win over Indiana (two points in 16 minutes). Detroit is using a mix of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Chauncey Billups and Kyle Singler at shooting guard when Stuckey isn't available.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/20/2013 6:12:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) was not active Wednesday and will miss Friday's game as well, according to beat writer Dave Pemberton.

Josh Smith, FHot12/18/2013 10:25:00 PM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith has averaged 27 ppg over his last three games.
Insight: He followed up two straight 30-point efforts with 20 points Wednesday at Boston. The 28-year-old's points and rebounds have declined in his first season with Detroit because he has played away from the basket more. However, Detroit coach Mo Cheeks said he recently encouraged Smith to get the ball in the post more often, according to mlive.com, and it has resulted in improved scoring.
Brandon Jennings, G12/18/2013 10:22:00 PM
Description: Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings put up 28 points, 14 assists and five threes Wednesday at Boston.
Insight: Jennings is averaging a career-high 8.0 assists per game and he's kept his scoring up with 17.5 ppg, identical to last season with the Bucks.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/18/2013 8:21:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) is not active Wednesday, according to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News.
Insight: He was clearly affected by a shoulder injury in Monday's win over Indiana (two points in 16 minutes). Detroit is using a mix of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Chauncey Billups and Kyle Singler at shooting guard.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/18/2013 3:23:00 PM

Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum (hamstring) will return to action Sunday after missing the last nine games, according to Keith Langlois of pistons.com.
Insight: Bynum will not see enough minutes to be a fantasy option as a backup combo guard in Detroit's crowded backcourt.
Andre Drummond, C12/13/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond chipped in with 22 points Friday in a win over Brooklyn.
Insight: The victory ended the Nets' three-game winning streak. Drummond also had 11 boards, his ninth double-digit rebounding game in the last ten contests.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/11/2013 7:25:00 PM

Insight: Quad tendinitis prevented Stuckey from playing Tuesday versus Minnesota. He's second on the team in scoring at 15.4 ppg this season.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/10/2013 6:46:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey won't be available for Tuesday's game against Minnesota. SOURCE: Pistons.com
Insight: Stuckey is dealing with tendinitis in his left quad. Consider him day-to-day. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will handle the shooting guard duties in his absence though fantasy owners would be wise to avoid him after the Heat held him scoreless in 18 minutes on Sunday night.
Chauncey Billups, G12/10/2013 2:02:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Chauncey Billups (knee tendinitis) is expected to play on Tuesday night, according to beat writer Keith Lanlois.
Insight: Injuries have limited the five-time All-Star to just seven games this season so he'll likely be rusty and fantasy owners should not start him yet.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/9/2013 10:52:00 AM
Description: Pistons shooting guard Rodney Stuckey is questionable for Tuesday's game against Minnesota with a sore left knee.
Insight: Stuckey left Saturday's game with a knee injury in the first half and didn't play Sunday. he's getting plenty of court time when healthy as the Pistons are currently without Will Bynum and Chauncey Billups.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/8/2013 10:37:00 AM
Description: Pistons shooting guard Rodney Stuckey seemed to be walking fine after Saturday's win over Chicago. SOURCE: Vincent Ellis, Detroit Free Press

Brandon Jennings, G12/7/2013 10:49:00 PM
Description: Detroit point guard Brandon Jennings led all scorers with 33 points in Saturday's win over Chicago.
Insight: Jennings was 5-of-8 from three-point land and 12-for-22 overall. He's played 40 minutes or more in four of his last five games. Clearly the Pistons live and die by their star point guard.
Rodney Stuckey, G12/7/2013 9:52:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Rodney Stuckey exited with a knee injury Saturday against the Bulls. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: He's done for the night and will finish with two points in just ten minutes of action. With the quick turnaround on Sunday, it's doubtful he'll play against Miami. Rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will play most of the minutes at shooting guard while Stuckey is sidelined.
Andre Drummond, CHot12/4/2013 10:40:00 PM
Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond has cleaned the glass for at least 18 rebounds in each of the first three games this month.
Insight: He had 24 points, 19 rebounds, three blocks and two steals over 38 minutes Wednesday at Milwaukee and is putting up some ridiculous numbers. He's still just 20 years old and won't turn 21 until next August.
Greg Monroe, C12/4/2013 10:37:00 PM
Description: Pistons PF Greg Monroe had 18 points, 17 rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 31 minutes Wednesday at Milwaukee.
Insight: After starting out hot, Monroe's play has lagged. He came in averaging just 12.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 0.3 blocks and 10.1 field goals over his previous 12 games. With Josh Smith doing his thing and Andre Drummond breaking out before our eyes, Monroe is going to have a hard time even matching last season's production, much less improving on it.
Brandon Jennings, G12/1/2013 6:23:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Brandon Jennings had 20 points, 12 assists, six rebounds and three threes Sunday against the 76ers.
Insight: Jennings said this week that he needed to find a better balance between passing and scoring, and he seems to have found it over the last two games as he has averaged 19.5 points and 11 assists. Jennings is averaging 15.9 points and a career-high 8.4 assists per game this season.
Andre Drummond, CHot12/1/2013 6:17:00 PM
Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond put up a career-high 31 points on 12-of-15 shooting, 19 rebounds, six steals and two blocks Sunday against the Sixers.
Insight: Philadelphia gave Drummond the Dwight Howard treatment by putting him on the foul line for 18 free throws, just 17 less than he had all season. Drummond made just seven of them (.389), giving him a .321 free-throw percentage on the year. If opponents continue to put the 20-year-old on the foul line it will lead to more points but also will hurt his value in percentage leagues.
Greg Monroe, C12/1/2013 6:07:00 PM
Description: Pistons PF Greg Monroe was ejected from Sunday's game in the second half.
Insight: He picked up his second technical foul with 10:15 left in the fourth quarter and finished with seven points, 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 26 minutes.

Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum has a strained left adductor muscle and is out indefinitely, according to David Mayo of mlive.com.
Insight: Bynum has missed six of the last eight games and has played just 19 mpg when active. Rodney Stuckey will continue to play heavy minutes as Detroit's combo guard.
Chauncey Billups, G11/29/2013 6:06:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Chauncey Billups is still out with knee tendinitis. SOURCE: Keith Langlois, Pistons.com
Insight: He'll sit out Friday against the Lakers. Injuries have limited the five-time All-Star to just seven games this season.
Greg Monroe, C11/27/2013 10:39:00 PM
Description: Pistons PF Greg Monroe is only averaging 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game over his last nine contests.
Insight: Monroe looked to be taking his game to a new level when he averaged 18 points, 11.2 boards, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks over his first six games, but he has settled into his 2011-13 level.
Rodney Stuckey, GHot11/26/2013 7:33:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey is averaging 18.9 points, 3.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals over his last seven games.
Insight: Stuckey has come off the bench in all 13 games this season and is actually playing fewer minutes per game than last season, but he has increased his field goal percentage from .406 to .490 while taking 2.1 more shots per game and 0.7 more free throws per game.
Chauncey Billups, G11/25/2013 6:54:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Chauncey Billups won't be available Monday against Milwaukee. SOURCE: Dave Pemberton, Oakland Press
Insight: Billups is still day-to-day with knee tendinitis. Even when he's played this season, he hasn't been a fantasy asset (5.3 ppg in seven contests).
Chauncey Billups, G11/25/2013 10:25:00 AM
Description: Detroit guard Chauncey Billups is questionable for Monday's game against Milwaukee due to his ongoing knee tendinitis.
Insight: There's no timetable for Billups' return. Injuries have limited the five-time All-Star to under 23 mpg even when he's on the court and he's not producing many fantasy-worthy performances. Time to look elsewhere for guard help.
Charlie Villanueva, PF11/24/2013 10:58:00 AM
Description: Detroit power forward Charlie Villanueva is doubtful for Sunday's game against Brooklyn due to a sore back.
Insight: Villanueva has only played five minutes all season. The days of him averaging double-digits are long gone. Look for big man help elsewhere.
Will Bynum, G11/24/2013 10:56:00 AM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum (groin, hamstring) will miss Sunday's game against Brooklyn due to a strained left groin/hamstring.
Insight: Brandon Jennings, Rodney Stuckey and rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will absorb the extra minutes. Stuckey has been the best of the trio, averaging 17.6 ppg over his last five contests.
Chauncey Billups, G11/24/2013 10:55:00 AM
Description: Detroit guard Chauncey Billups is questionable for Sunday's game against Brooklyn due to his ongoing knee tendinitis.
Insight: There's no timetable for Billups' return. Injuries have limited the five-time All-Star to under 23 mpg even when he's on the court and he's not producing many fantasy-worthy performances.
Josh Smith, F11/23/2013 2:36:00 PM
Description: Pistons coach Mo Cheeks said Saturday that Josh Smith is his starting small forward going forward, according to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News.
Insight: Smith was benched Friday against his former team the Atlanta Hawks after missing practice to be with his ill father. He played just 20 minutes and shot 0-of-7 in the game. Smith chalked it up to a communication issue and said he felt it was assumed he could stay home.
Brandon Jennings, G11/22/2013 10:27:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Brandon Jennings only made 4-of-16 from the floor and didn't get to the line or make a 3-pointer Friday against the Hawks, but he dished out 14 dimes.
Insight: Jennings is averaging a career-high 7.8 assists per game through 10 games with Detroit. He's still attempting 16.3 shots per game, so it's not like he has changed his shoot-first approach. The higher assist average is likely just a product of having better players around him.
Josh Smith, F11/22/2013 10:25:00 PM
Description: Pistons forward Josh Smith was relegated to the bench Friday against the Hawks, his former team.
Insight: If it was a motivational tactic on the part of coach Mo Cheeks, it didn't work. Smith had zero points on 0-of-7 shooting in just 20 minutes of play. Meanwhile, replacement starter Kyle Singler made 9-of-13 from the field for 22 point in the loss. The Pistons didn't sign Smith to a big contract to sit the bench, so look for him to be back in the starting lineup soon.
Will Bynum, G11/22/2013 10:45:00 AM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum (groin, hamstring) will miss Friday's game against Atlanta due to a strained left groin/hamstring.

Description: Detroit guard Chauncey Billups is questionable for Friday's game against Atlanta due to his ongoing knee tendinitis.
Insight: There's no timetable for Billups' return. Injuries have limited the five-time All-Star to under 23 mpg even when he's on the court and he's not producing many fantasy-worthy performances.
Rodney Stuckey, G11/20/2013 10:33:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey has scored at least 16 points in four straight games.
Insight: He had 18 points Wednesday at Atlanta but turned the ball over five times and fouled out in 26 minutes of play. He's a serviceable shooting guard for fantasy purposes.
Brandon Jennings, G11/20/2013 7:12:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Brandon Jennings (stomach) is active and starting Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
Insight: Jennings dealt with a stomach bug during Tuesday's game and played just 27 minutes, but he's back to full strength.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, G11/19/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: Detroit rookie shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope played a season-high 29 minutes and had 13 points, four rebounds, one steal and three triples Tuesday against the Knicks.
Insight: With Chauncey Billups and Will Bynum out and Rodney Stuckey needed more at the point with Brandon Jennings dealing with a stomach illness, KCP saw his most action of the season. He's not worth adding in fantasy at this time.
Brandon Jennings, G11/19/2013 10:14:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Brandon Jennings dealt with a stomach bug Tuesday against the Knicks and only played 27 minutes.
Insight: Jennings had just two points on 1-of-3 shooting but did dish out seven assists. Detroit plays again Wednesday at Atlanta.
Rodney Stuckey, G11/19/2013 10:13:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey had a season-high 21 points and five assists Tuesday against the Knicks.
Insight: Stuckey is averaging 14.2 ppg and 1.2 spg but he doesn't offer much else to fantasy owners.

Description: Make that five straight double-doubles for Pistons center Andre Drummond. He had 13 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and three blocks over 36 minutes Tuesday against the Knicks.
Insight: Drummond is averaging 14.8 points, 14.4 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 75 percent from the field over the last five games.
Chauncey Billups, G11/19/2013 6:54:00 PM
Description: Detroit guard Chauncey Billups won't be active for Tuesday's game against New York. SOURCE: Oakland Press
Insight: Knee tendinitis is the reason for his absence. There's no timetable for Billups' return. Injuries have limited the five-time All-Star to just 49 games over the past three seasons.
Will Bynum, G11/19/2013 6:25:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum (groin, hamstring) will miss Tuesday's game.
Insight: Chauncey Billups (knee) is also out. Brandon Jennings, Rodney Stuckey and rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will absorb the extra minutes.
Will Bynum, G11/19/2013 11:13:00 AM
Description: Pistons guard Will Bynum is questionable for Tuesday's game against New York due to a strained left groin/hamstring.
Insight: Bynum is getting about 20 mpg in the eight games he's played and is not producing fantasy-worthy numbers in that short amount of time on the floor. Rodney Stuckey and Brandon Jennings are the Pistons' fantasy-worthy guards.

Description: Chauncey Billups is doubtful for Tuesday's game against New York due to knee tendinitis.
Insight: He averaging a career-low 5.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.4 apg and can't be depended on to be on the floor every night. It's best to avoid him if possible.

Description: Pistons center Andre Drummond (15 points, 18 rebounds) was dominant on the boards Friday in a win over Sacramento.

Insight: Smith (16.0 ppg, 3.3 apg, 5.8 rpg, 1.8 bpg) may not play for the Hawks anymore but the relocation hasn't seemed to affect his fantasy value. The 27-year-old combo forward is still among the top players in fantasy basketball thanks to his wide skill set.

Description: Detroit center Andre Drummond injured his left ankle late in Tuesday night's game and is questionable for Friday's game against Sacramento.
Insight: Drummond is averaging 11.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.6 blocks. He's an ugly free throw shooter, but fortunately for fantasy owners doesn't get to the line very often.

Description: Detroit forward Josh Smith was benched Tuesday after taking a couple of ill-advised 3-pointers.
Insight: Smith shot 1-of-6 from the floor (0-2 3PT) for two points in 19 minutes of play. He has attempted 5.7 threes per game this season but is hitting 27.5 percent. Smith is a career 28.3 percent 3-point shooter, so coach Mo Cheeks was likely trying to send a message to the 27-year-old.

Description: Josh Smith scored 20 times for the first time as a member of the Pistons Friday against OKC.

Rodney Stuckey, G10/26/2013 1:29:00 PM
Description: Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey has been cleared for limited basketball activities, according to Keith Langlois of Pistons.com.
Insight: Stuckey hasn't ruled out the possibility of playing in the season opener Wednesday. His availability will depend on his pain tolerance and the functionality of the thumb. The team will already be without Brandon Jennings, so Will Bynum is likely to be pressed into more action and will probably start if Stuckey doesn't play.
Rodney Stuckey, G10/22/2013 7:44:00 PM
Description: According to Pistons.com, Rodney Stuckey will have X-rays on his fractured thumb Friday to determine how far along he is in his recovery.
Insight: Stuckey got his thumb caught in a car door and fractured the tip of it two weeks ago. It's still possible he'll play in the season opener and is expected to start at shooting guard whenever he returns. With Brandon Jennings out until at least Nov. 5, Stuckey will see an increased offensive role in the backcourt.
Brandon Jennings, G10/15/2013 5:26:00 PM
Description: According to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News, Pistons guard Brandon Jennings will miss at least three weeks due to an impacted wisdom tooth and a hairline fracture at the base of the tooth. He'll be reevaluated after three weeks.
Insight: Jennings is expected to miss at least the first four regular season games. Rodney Stuckey also is unlikely to play in the opener due to a fractured thumb, so the team will have to rely on Chauncey Billups, Will Bynum and rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the backcourt.
