Description: Oakland setup man,Tyler Clippard, will serve as closer until injured Sean Doolittle is ready to return, according to manager Bob Melvin.
Insight: We always expected as much. Clippard should rack up a few saves until Doolittle (shoulder) returns, probably in late April or early May. He had 32 saves in a closing role back in 2012 for the Nationals.
Description: Red Sox closer Koji Uehara (hamstring) will throw on Thursday and should take part in a bullpen session at some point this weekend.
Insight: This will be a big test to determine Uehara's availability for Opening Day. If he is unable to get healthy by the start of the season, Edward Mujica would likely start 2015 as Boston's closer.
Description: White Sox closer David Robertson is experiencing forearm soreness, according to manager Robin Ventura.
Insight: Hopefully this is the reason for his 7.71 spring ERA. Ventura did not seem concerned however, so we expect Robertson to get back on track for the regular season. Draft him as you normally would.
Description: Yankees reliever Dellin Betances admitted to the New York Post on Tuesday that his velocity is "nowhere near where it should be".
Insight: Betances did get his fastball up to 94 mph on Tuesday, but he was routinely in the mid-to-high 90s during 2014, so he is still expecting to see more velocity. Manager Joe Giradi isn't too concern, saying the velocity should return as Betances pitches more. Betances is the front runner to be the Yankees closer this season, though, New York has not confirmed that yet.
Description: Phillies right-hander Mario Hollands has been diagnosed with a flexor tendon strain, similar to teammate Cliff Lee and may end up needing the same season-ending surgery, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.
Insight: Hollands doesn't have much fantasy value even when healthy. He posted a 4.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 35 Ks in 47 IP last season.
Description: Red Sox closer Koji Uehara (hamstring) played long toss, according to a Boston Globe report.
Insight: It's the first step in his return to the mound. Even if he is not ready for the start of the season, Uehara should be ready to roll soon after and fantasy owners should not reduce his value because of this injury.
