Insight: He went six innings and allowed one run (zero earned) on just three hits and two walks, while striking out six. Quintana is 1-0 with a 4.09 ERA.
Adam LaRoche, 1B4/12/2015 9:08:00 PM
Description: White Sox first baseman Adam LaRoche homered for the second consecutive day.
Insight: He took Phil Hughes deep in the third inning. LaRoche finished 2-for-4 on the day and now has three RBIs overall.
Chris Sale, SP4/12/2015 9:06:00 PM
Description: White Sox starter Chris Sale had a successful season debut.
Insight: He went six innings and allowed just one run on five hits and one walk, while striking out eight. Sale got the victory and threw 98 total pitches, 72 for strikes.
Adam LaRoche, 1B4/11/2015 6:45:00 PM
Description: First baseman Adam LaRoche hit his first home run of the 2015 season on Saturday against the Twins.
Insight: LaRoche had just one hit in his first four games this season, so it was nice to see him go deep. He should do plenty of that this season once he gets going.
Jeff Samardzija, SP4/11/2015 6:43:00 PM
Description: Right-hander Jeff Samardzija had another rough outing on Saturday.
Insight: Samardzija pitched better than he did on Opening Day, but he allowed four runs on eight hits in seven innings versus the Twins. He did strike out six and walked none. Chicago was able to rally late, so Samardzija avoided the loss and received a no-decision instead.
Avisail Garcia, RF4/10/2015 10:23:00 AM
Description: White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia could be a nice play on Friday against Tommy Milone and the Twins.
Insight: A right-handed hitter could be a solid play with the wind expected to be blowing out to left at 20 mph this afternoon and Garcia is 3-for-4 against the lefty Milone.
Alexei Ramirez, SSCold4/10/2015 10:20:00 AM
Description: White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez is just 1-for-11 (.091) against Minnesota left-hander Tommy Milone.
Insight: Ramirez hasn't started the season well, going just 1-for-9 in the series with the Royals, so despite what appears to be a gale force wind blowing out to left, (20 mph) he might not be able to take advantage of the situation.
John Danks, SP4/9/2015 4:54:00 PM
Description: White Sox lefty John Danks took the loss in his season debut.
Insight: He went 5 2/3 innings versus Kansas City, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk. Danks struck out only one which will not excite owners whatsoever.
Tyler Flowers, C4/9/2015 12:03:00 PM
Description: White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers will sit on Thursday after starting the first two games of the season.
Insight: Flowers showed some pop last season, hitting .241 with 15 home runs and 50 RBI. Geovany Soto will get the start.
Jose Abreu, 1B4/6/2015 7:14:00 PM
Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 1-for-3 with a solo home run as Chicago lost to Kansas City, 10-1.
Insight: Abreu picked up right where he left off in Spring Training. He also had a walk in the blowout loss. Abreu is a fantasy stud and could join Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw and Giancarlo Stanton in the top tier of fantasy players this season.
Chris Sale, SP4/6/2015 2:18:00 PM
Description: White Sox starter Chris Sale threw five innings in a minor league game Monday and should be ready to go on April 12.
Insight: Sale is coming off a 12-4 season with a stunning 2.17 ERA and 0.966 WHIP. He's an ace for any fantasy staff and it turns out he'll just miss one start.
Jose Abreu, 1B3/29/2015 10:34:00 AM
Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 2-for-5 on Saturday and actually lowered his spring training batting average.
Insight: That should tell owners all they need to know about Abreu's March. He is hitting .479 in 48 at-bats. It isn't all great for Abreu, though, as 19 of his 23 hits have been singles. His two hits on Saturday were also singles.
Chris Sale, SP3/27/2015 4:03:00 PM
Description: White Sox starter Chris Sale has thrown a bullpen session and a simulated game over the past week without incident, says baseball analyst Bruce Levine.
Insight: Sale is on pace for an April 12 start if all continues to go well. Given that timetable, fantasy owners should not discount Sales' value at all. Sale is coming off a 12-4 season with a stunning 2.17 ERA and 0.966 WHIP.
David Robertson, RP3/26/2015 3:48:00 PM
Description: White Sox closer David Robertson is experiencing forearm soreness, according to manager Robin Ventura.
Insight: Hopefully this is the reason for his 7.71 spring ERA. Ventura did not seem concerned however, so we expect Robertson to get back on track for the regular season. Draft him as you normally would.
Chris Sale, SP3/24/2015 4:50:00 PM
Description: White Sox starter Chris Sale will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
Insight: There is still not a set timetable for his debut, so owners are currently in a grey area with Sale for now. We would suspect he will be pitching with the White Sox by mid-April, meaning he could be a steal in drafts this season.
Chris Sale, SP3/11/2015 4:22:00 PM
Description: White Sox executive vice president Kenny Williams confirmed Chris Sale will not pitch on Opening Day according to CSN Chicago.
Insight: Sale suffered an avulsion fracture in his right foot at his home back in February. He also has a sprained ankle. Sale's ADP has already dropped, and rightfully so, but at a certain point, Sale will become a bargain if he continues to drop in fantasy leagues.
Chris Sale, SP3/5/2015 6:11:00 PM
Description: White Sox left-hander Chris Sale will probably miss Opening Day according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Insight: Heyman also said the White Sox expect Sale to be ready shortly after Opening Day. Sale suffered an avulsion fracture in his right foot in an accident at his house on Feb. 27. He will probably not do any baseball activities the next two weeks.
Chris Sale, SP2/28/2015 1:47:00 PM
Description: White Sox left-hander Chris Sale has an avulsion fracture of his right foot, according to the team's site.
Insight: He is expected to miss three weeks and the injury leaves him in doubt for Opening Day. Sale is Chicago's ace, who went 12-4 with a 2.17 ERA and 0.966 WHIP, and a fantasy stud.
Ronald Belisario, RP2/28/2015 12:44:00 PM
Description: Right-handed reliever Ronald Belisario has a fractured left shoulder, according to Marc Topkins of the Tampa Bay Times.
Insight: The former White Sox reliever doesn't have much fantasy value even when healthy, though he did save eight games last season in Chicago. His 5.56 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 2014 should gaurantee he isn't on any fantasy rosters in 2015.
Emilio Bonifacio, IF/OF1/8/2015 4:26:00 PM
Description: The White Sox have finalized a deal with utilityman Emilio Bonifacio.
Insight: He will likely be the team's primary second baseman, and should be on fantasy owners' radars. Look for Bonifacio to hit atop the Sox lineup, and be a threat to steal bases.
Melky Cabrera, LF12/14/2014 12:44:00 PM
Description: Outfielder Melky Cabrera has agreed to a three-year deal with the Chicago White Sox, pending a physical.
Insight: Cabrera batted .301/.351/.458 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI in 139 games this season. The White Sox are putting together an excellent offseason, having already added starter Jeff Samardzija, closer David Robertson and Adam LaRoche.
Jeff Samardzija, SP12/9/2014 3:20:00 AM
Description: Right-hander Jeff Samardzija has been traded to the Chicago White Sox in a multi-player deal.
Insight: Samardzija was 7-13 with a very nice 2.99 ERA and 1.065 WHIP. He returns to the Windy City, but to the other side after playing six and a half seasons with the Cubs. U.S. Cellular Field is a very hitter-friendly park.
Adam LaRoche, 1B11/21/2014 8:48:00 PM
Description: First baseman Adam LaRoche agreed to a two-year, $25 million contract with the Chicago White Sox.
Insight: With Jose Abreu the everyday first baseman, it appears as though the White Sox intend to start LaRoche at designated hitter. The 35-year-old hit .259/.362/.455 with 26 home runs and 92 RBI in 140 games during 2014. U.S. Cellular Field is a more friendly hitters park, so it is quite possible LaRoche hits even more home runs next season.
Jose Abreu, 1B11/10/2014 10:23:00 PM
Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu won the 2014 American League Rookie of the Year award.
Insight: He won the award unanimously. Abreu hit .317/.383/.581 with 36 home runs and 107 RBI. Matt Shoemaker finished second.

Alexei Ramirez, SS9/25/2014 10:47:00 AM
Description: White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez is an incredible 23-for-55 (.418) against Royals starter James Shields.
Insight: Ramirez has two home runs, double and triple against Shields as well. The shortstop has been struggling a bit this month, hitting .218, but he should take advantage of this matchup.
Chris Sale, SP9/24/2014 6:10:00 PM
Description: White Sox left-hander Chris Sale strikes out 10 Tigers in no-decision.
Insight: He was in a pitchers' duel with Justin Verlander, but with a high pitch count, Sale was able to last only six innings. Sale has been Chicago's ace, as he is 12-4 with a 2.17 ERA and 0.97 WHIP.
Jose Abreu, 1B9/24/2014 11:40:00 AM
Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu is a career .583 hitter (7-for-12) with two homers versus Detroit right-hander Justin Verlander
Insight: After a 29 home run first half (82 games), Abreu's number have been less impressive since the break with just six homers in 59 games. But he's still batting .316 with 35 HR, 105 RBI and a .964 OPS for the season. That's MVP-type material.
Alexei Ramirez, SS9/23/2014 10:34:00 PM
Description: White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.
Insight: Ramirez scored along with Adam Eaton to cut the Tiger lead to 3-2 in the top of the ninth. Marcus Semien then singled to score the tying run, which chased Detroit starter David Price. The Tigers, however, were still able to win the game. Ramirez is hitting .276 with 15 home runs and 72 RBI this season.
Paul Konerko, 1B9/23/2014 1:23:00 PM
Description: White Sox DH/1B Paul Konerko is a career .435 hitter with a pair of home runs against Tigers left-hander David Price.
Insight: The 38-year-old is planning to retire at the end of the season, so he will likely be one of your last chances to get him in your lineup. Over his 18-year career he's a .279 hitter with 439 homers, 1,412 RBI and played in six All-Star games.
Chris Bassitt, SP9/22/2014 9:59:00 PM
Description: White Sox pitcher Chris Bassitt pitched seven 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing six hits, striking out three and walking two to beat the Tigers, 2-0, on Monday.
Insight: It was Bassitt's first career victory in the big leagues. It was also by far the longest outing of his short career. Bassitt is 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA and 16 strikeouts in four starts this year.
Tyler Flowers, C9/22/2014 9:52:00 PM
Description: White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers hit a two-run homer to defeat the Tigers, 2-0, on Monday.
Insight: Flowers homered in the second, scoring shortstop Carlos Sanchez. That was enough for White Sox starter, Chris Bassitt, who pitch seven 2/3 shutout innings. Flowers is hitting .243 with 15 home runs and 50 RBI this season.
John Danks, SP9/21/2014 6:44:00 PM
Description: White Sox lefty John Danks earns 10th victory of 2014 on Sunday.
Insight: He was effective against the Rays, going six innings of two-run baseball. Danks struck out five, and now owns a 4.82 ERA. It has not been a great year for Danks, who will look to rebound in 2015.
John Danks, SPCold9/15/2014 11:35:00 AM
Description: White Sox lefty John Danks heads into Kansas City to open up a series against the Royals, as his struggles in 2014 continue.
Insight: With Chicago taking on Royals' ace James Shields, combined with the fact that Danks is 0-3 with a 5.94 ERA during his past three starts (9-11, 5.05 ERA overall), it would be smart to find better options to plug into your starting rotation tonight.
Alexei Ramirez, SS9/15/2014 9:50:00 AM
Description: White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez is a career .412 hitter (21-for-51) with a pair of homers and a 1.033 OPS versus Royals right-hander James Shields.
Insight: Ramirez can't find his swing this month, batting just .122 in 41 at-bats and may not be ready to take advantage of the matchup. He is also hitting .273 with 15 HR, 67 RBI and 76 runs.
Dayan Viciedo, RF9/14/2014 10:07:00 AM
Description: White Sox right fielder Dayan Viciedo hit a walkoff two-run home run as the White Sox defeated the Twins, 7-6.

Dayan Viciedo, RF9/12/2014 1:32:00 PM
Description: White Sox right fielder Dayan Viciedo is 0-for-7 with five strikeouts against Twins hurler Phil Hughes.
Insight: Viciedo star has faded a bit from his 25 home run, 78 RBI 2012 season. He still reached the 20 HR mark, but his OPS is down 58 points from 2012 and he's already struck out 113 times. Avoid him Friday.
Marcus Semien, 2B9/11/2014 4:45:00 PM
Description: White Sox shortstop Marcus Semien went 1-for-3 with a solo home run to give the White Sox a 1-0 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.
Insight: Semien hit his homer off Scott Kazmir in the sixth inning. Looking at both starting lineups, Semien was probably the last guess to account for the only run of the afternoon. Semien is batting .218 with four home runs and 19 RBI this season.
Chris Sale, SPHot9/11/2014 4:38:00 PM
Description: White Sox left-hander Chris Sale pitched eight shutout innings, allowed two hits, struck out nine and walked two to beat the Athletics, 1-0.

Paul Konerko, 1B9/7/2014 10:46:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH/1B Paul Konerko is a career 2-for-12 (.167) hitter against Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco.
Insight: Konerko may not play anyway as he has a fracture in his left hand. The 38-year-old is planning to retire at the end of the season, so he will likely try to play through the fracture to finish the season, but owners should probably stay away from putting him in the lineup.
Jose Quintana, SPHot9/6/2014 10:02:00 PM
Description: White Sox left-hander Jose Quintana pitched six innings and allowed one run on seven hits. He also struck out seven and walked one but received the no-decision.

Jose Abreu, 1BHot9/6/2014 11:20:00 AM
Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu is a career .462 hitter (6-for-13) versus Cleveland starter Corey Kluber.

Chris Sale, SPHot9/5/2014 10:54:00 PM
Description: White Sox left-hander Chris Sale pitched six innings, allowed one run on five hits in a no-decision against the Indians on Friday.
Insight: Sale should have more wins than he does, but he is still 11-3 with a 2.09 ERA this year. In his last 19 innings, Sale has yielded just four runs.
Alexei Ramirez, SS9/5/2014 8:34:00 PM
Description: White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez left Friday's game in the fifth inning after getting nailed in the left foot by a pitch.
Insight: Ramierz looked like he was in a lot of pain. It is possible that he broke something. Marcus Semien will likely fill in at shortstop while Ramierz is down. Ramierz is hitting .281 with 13 home runs, 30 doubles and 64 RBI.
Jose Abreu, 1BHot9/3/2014 5:08:00 PM

Insight: Tuesday was just a routine night off for the slugger. He's on an 11-game hitting streak and has raised his average to .320 to go along with 33 HR, 99 RBI and a .983 OPS. That's got to get him in the conversation for MVP.

Insight: It appears to be just a routine night off for the slugger. He's on an 11-game hitting streak and has raised his average to .320 to go along with 33 HR, 99 RBI and a .983 OPS. That's got to get him in the conversation for MVP.

Adam Eaton, CF8/31/2014 6:43:00 PM
Description: White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton was 2-for-5 with two doubles against the Tigers on Sunday.
Insight: Eaton also scored two runs. He has hits in his last seven games, and over that stretch, is batting .429 with five extra-base hits and two steals. Insight: De Aza's average has dropped for a third straight season and he's on pace for fewer homers, RBI and runs than he had in 2013. Fantasy owners should be avoiding him.

Adam Dunn, DH/1B8/16/2014 4:50:00 PM

Insight: Dunn has six hits in his last 40 at-bats; four left the yard. He's hitting .222 with 19 homers, 47 RBI, 41 runs and a .788 OPS, not fantasy-worthy numbers in most leagues.

Description: White Sox closer Matt Lindstrom (ankle) has been activated from the disabled list.
Insight: Lindstrom suffered a torn tendon sheath in his ankle on May 19 and had to undergo surgery. Ronald Belisario was a horror show as the closer, but Jeff Petricka has been good since he took over the job. Lindstrom will probably have to earn the job back.

Insight: That's the good news. The bad news is he's got Jose Abreu (.310, 31 HR, 84 RBI) in front of him. We hope Wilkins learns how to play another position, perhaps third base, or else he's not going to see much playing time with the big club,

Adam Dunn, DH/1B7/29/2014 9:36:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn has faced Anibal Sanchez 36 times and struck out 16 of them without going deep.
Insight: Dunn's .229 batting average is actually his best since 2010, but he's still an all-or-nothing hitter with 15 homers and 108 strikeouts in 292 at-bats. Avoid this matchup.

Description: White Sox outfielder Moises Sierra is a career .500 hitter (8-for-16) against Minnesota starter Phil Hughes.
Insight: Sierra doesn't play every day, so fantasy owners will need to check the starting lineup before considering him, but he is batting .333 over the past two weeks and has a favorable matchup.

Adam Dunn, DH/1B7/22/2014 10:22:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn is not a high-average hitter nor very good against left-handers, but he's a career .333 hitter (8-for-24) with a pair of long balls versus Royals southpaw Bruce Chen.
Insight: Dunn has hit .223 with 14 homers, 39 RBI this season, but just .152 with one home run against left-handers, This matchup goes against everything we know about Dunn.

Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn is not in Saturday's starting lineup versus left-hander Dallas Keuchel.
Insight: Dunn has hit .225 with 14 homers, 36 RBI, 33 runs and an .798 OPS, predictable numbers for the big DH.

Description: With seven innings of one-run ball Sunday against the Indians Chicago left-hander John Danks dropped his ERA below 4.00 for the first time since April 26.
Insight: Danks is over the shoulder troubles he dealt with in 2012 and 2013. He's gone 5-2 with a 2.69 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP over his last 67 innings after starting out 3-4 with a 5.64 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP in his first 52 2/3.

Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu is the MLB leader with 29 home runs and knocked in his 73 rd Saturday afternoon.

Alexei Ramirez, SS7/12/2014 4:15:00 PM
Description: White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez left Saturday's game for a pinch runner in the fourth inning.
Insight: It appears to be a back issue. His hot April (.351) and May (.305) is a thing of the past as he hit just .230 in 24 June and .178 in 11 July games.
Adam Eaton, CF7/12/2014 2:59:00 PM
Description: White Sox outfielder and leadoff man Adam Eaton is not in Saturday's starting lineup while he deals with a sore wrist and ankle.
Insight: Eaton (.270, 1 HR, 25 RBI, 42 runs) doesn't offer much to fantasy owners.
Gordon Beckham, 2BCold7/11/2014 9:54:00 AM
Description: White Sox second baseman Gordon Beckham is just 1-for-13 (.077) against Cleveland right-hander Corey Kluber.

Paul Konerko, 1B7/10/2014 9:37:00 AM

Chris Sale, SPHot7/9/2014 10:25:00 PM
Description: Chicago left-hander Chris Sale took a shutout into the eighth inning and left with a 4-1 lead Wednesday at Boston, but the White Sox bullpen gave away the game in the final 1 1/3 innings. Sale allowed four hits and one run, struck out six and walked none in 7 2/3 innings.
Insight: Chicago hasn't been able to solve its closing situation, which makes it all the more amazing that Sale is 8-1. The left-hander has a 2.08 ERA, a 0.84 WHIP and a 102/16 K/BB in 95 innings this season.
Conor Gillaspie, 3BHot7/9/2014 10:23:00 PM
Description: Chicago third baseman Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer Wednesday at Boston.
Insight: Gillaspie has finally started to hit for some pop after failing to hit one out of the park in his first 59 games. He's hit three in his last six games and is now batting .320 with 21 doubles, three triples, 33 RBI, 32 runs and an .835 OPS in 247 at-bats.
Conor Gillaspie, 3B7/8/2014 10:26:00 PM

Description: White Sox DH/1B Paul Konerko is a career 7-for-15 (.467) with a 1.263 OPS versus Boston right-hander Clay Buchholz.
Insight: Considering Adam Dunn is 0-for-7 against Buchholz, it should be an easy decision for manager Robin Ventura. Update: Konerko is not in the starting lineup.
Paul Konerko, 1B7/7/2014 11:02:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH/1B Paul Konerko is a career 7-for-15 (.467) with a 1.263 OPS versus Boston right-hander Clay Buchholz.
Insight: Considering Adam Dunn is 0-for-7 against Buchholz, it should be an easy decision for manager Robin Ventura.
Conor Gillaspie, 3B7/6/2014 4:14:00 PM
Description: Chicago third baseman Conor Gillaspie took a pitch off his right knee and was forced to leave Sunday's game.
Insight: Gillaspie still has just one home run, but he's batting .310 in 239 at-bats. His average doesn't make up for the lack of power and speed (zero SB) and he has little fantasy value.
Jose Quintana, SPHot7/5/2014 7:06:00 PM
Description: Chicago left-hander Jose Quintana got the best of Seattle ace Felix Hernandez, going 7 2/3 IP yielding four hits and a walk without a run.
Insight: Quintana bullpen let him and the White Sox down as they gave up two ninth inning runs to tie the game and the game-winning run in the 14th inning.
Jose Quintana, SPHot7/5/2014 11:31:00 AM
Description: Chicago left-hander Jose Quintana is nearly as hot as Seattle ace Felix Hernandez entering their Saturday afternoon showdown at U.S. Cellular Field.
Insight: Quintana and King Felix both enter with ERAs below 1.30 in their last three starts. Quintana has thrown seven innings in each of his previous three outings, recording 21 strikeouts along the way. Current M's haven't had much success against the under-the-radar starter, either, so he's definitely a smart play.
Jose Abreu, 1BHot7/4/2014 9:46:00 PM
Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu is now the MLB leader with 27 home runs and tied for the lead with 69 RBI.
Insight: Abreu had the lead in both categories when he went on the disabled list with ankle inflammation on May 18, and he's made up ground after being passed up while recovering. Since he returned from the DL, Abreu has hit 12 homers and driven in 27 runs in 29 games.
Dayan Viciedo, RFHot7/4/2014 9:44:00 PM
Description: White Sox right fielder Dayan Viciedo went 4-for-4 and homered for the fourth time in his last seven games Friday against the Mariners.

Chris Sale, SPHot7/4/2014 9:40:00 PM
Description: Chicago left-hander Chris Sale struck out 12 batters and didn't walk anyone in a complete-game 7-1 win over the Seattle Mariners Friday.
Insight: Sale took a shutout into the ninth inning. The left-hander missed nearly five weeks earlier this season due to an elbow injury, but he has a strong case to make the All-Star team with an 8-1 record, 2.16 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 96/16 K/BB in 87 1/3 innings.
Jose Abreu, 1BHot7/1/2014 10:03:00 PM
Description: Chicago first baseman Jose Abreu went 1-for-3 with a homer and three RBI Tuesday against the Angels.
Insight: Abreu has kept up his prolific home run pace even after spending two weeks on the DL due to ankle tendinitis. He hit 10 homers in June and has 26 on the year after Tuesday's bomb. He's tied with Nelson Cruz for the MLB lead in homers.
Jose Quintana, SPHot6/29/2014 4:25:00 PM
Description: Chicago starter Jose Quintana fired seven scoreless innings Sunday at Toronto to lower his ERA to 3.44.
Insight: Quintana (5-7) has allowed three runs on 15 hits with 21 Ks in his last 21 innings. He's a solid low-level fantasy starter.
Zach Putnam, RP6/28/2014 7:50:00 PM
Description: White Sox right-hander Zach Putnam earned his first career save Saturday at Toronto.
Insight: Chicago manager Robin Ventura mercifully removed Ronald Belisario from the closer role following Friday's game, and Putnam appears to be the next man up. He gave up three hits and one run in his 1 1/3 innings Saturday and has a 2.30 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP this season.
Chris Sale, SPHot6/28/2014 7:46:00 PM
Description: Chicago left-hander Chris Sale hasn't had his best stuff or command over his last three starts, but he's managed to make it work (2-0, 3.32 ERA)
Insight: Sale has allowed 23 hits and walked seven batters in his last 19 innings (1.58 WHIP). However, he still has a 2.30 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP in 78 1/3 innings this season. The left-hander has thrown at least 100 pitches in six straight starts, which is a good sign after he missed five weeks with an elbow injury.
Dayan Viciedo, RF6/28/2014 7:33:00 PM
Description: White Sox right fielder Dayan Viciedo went deep for the second straight game Saturday at Toronto.
Insight: Viciedo hit a three-run shot in the seventh inning and also had a single. The 25-year-old has batted just .169 in June and .202 since the start of May.
Adam Dunn, DH/1B6/28/2014 7:31:00 PM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn reached base four times Saturday at Toronto, picking up two hits and walking twice.
Insight: Dunn has hit .237 with 12 homers, 33 RBI, 29 runs and an .817 OPS, predictable numbers for the big DH.
Alexei Ramirez, SS6/28/2014 11:10:00 AM
Description: White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game with Toronto.
Insight: His hot April (.351) and May (.305) is a thing of the past as he's hit just .211 in 24 June games and probably needs the break.
Jose Abreu, 1BHot6/27/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Chicago first baseman Jose Abreu clobbered a pair of homers Friday in a victory over the Blue Jays.
Insight: Abreu (.280, 25 HR, 63 RBI) is on pace for 50 homers despite missing two weeks with ankle tendinitis last month. He's been way better than advertised and could wind up being an MVP candidate. Fantasy owners who paid top dollar for Abreu on draft day have to be feeling pretty good about their investment.
Adam Dunn, DH/1B6/27/2014 10:27:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn has done well over his career against the knuckleballing R.A. Dickey.
Insight: Dunn is 6-for-13 with two homers and a 1.423 OPS against Dickey. Its been another all-or-nothing season with Dunn, .229 batting average with 85 strikeouts along with 12 homers.
Adam Eaton, CF6/26/2014 8:16:00 PM
Description: Adam Eaton's leg cramped up, forcing him to leave Thursday's game against Toronto. SOURCE: Dan Hayes, Comcast Sportsnet Chicago
Insight: It doesn't sound like anything too serious. Eaton (.283, 1 HR, 22 RBI) went 0-for-1 before exiting, which means his hitting streak will end at 12 games.
Adam Dunn, DH/1B6/26/2014 9:34:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn should be firmly planted on your bench for Thursday's unfavorable matchup against J.A. Happ.
Insight: Dunn id 1-for-12 with four strikeouts against Happ. Dunn's .229 batting averahe is higher than the past three seasons, but he's still an all-or-nothing guy with 12 homers and 85 strikeouts.
Adam Dunn, DH/1B6/25/2014 11:14:00 AM
Description: White Sox DH Adam Dunn has struggled against Baltimore right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez throughout his career, notching just five hits in 32 at-bats (.156).
Insight: One of Dunn's five hits was a home run (no shock there) but he's struck out 19 times against the once-dominant right-hander. Dunn's average, however, is 71 points higher against right-handers this season and 11 of his 12 homers have come off righties. His OPS is also .875 on the road compared to .732 at home, so if you're feeling lucky, Dunn could surprise.
Jose Quintana, SP6/24/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: Chicago starter Jose Quintana earned his first win in almost a month Tuesday against Baltimore.
Insight: Quintana held the Orioles to six hits and one earned run in seven innings of work. Despite a 4-7 record, Quintana owns a solid 3.69 ERA over 16 starts this season. His next start will come Sunday against Toronto.
Jose Abreu, 1BHot6/23/2014 10:22:00 PM
Description: White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and three RBI Monday against the Orioles.
Insight: Abreu (.274, 22 HR, 60 RBI) has picked up where he left off after missing two weeks with an ankle injury. He's hit seven homers and driven in 18 runs since he returned from the disabled list.
Tyler Flowers, C6/21/2014 12:08:00 PM
