Insight: Mason was absolutely phenomenal during Sunday's victory, stopping 46-of-47 shots on goal. His 17-17-11 record is not an indication of how well he has played this season.

Description: Flyers goaltender Steve Mason allowed a goal early to Sidney Crosby but that was it as Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh, 4-1, on Wednesday.
Insight: This was just Mason's second road victory of the season, but it can't be that surprising the Flyers won in Pittsburgh as they are 12-1-1 all-time at the Consol Energy Center. Mason made 24 saves in what was his 16th victory of the season.

Description: Flyers goaltender Steve Mason had a terrific game despite the, 3-2, shootout loss to the Sharks on Saturday.
Insight: Mason stopped 42 of 44 shots in regulation and overtime and only allowed two goals on five attempts in the shootout. Philadelphia, though, only scored one goal on five shootout attempts. Mason is 15-18-10 this season.

Description: Just when it looked like Steve Mason was a worthwhile player to own in fantasy leagues, he allows five goals on 21 shots versus the Devils.
Insight: That kills the team's save percentage as Mason posted a .762 percentage in the category. In two starts over the weekend, Mason allowed eight goals on 58 shots.

Insight: Mason has had tough luck all season, as he came into the game with a solid 2.24 GAA and .926 save percentage. He went onto allow three goals on 37 shots, and dropped his record to 13-13-9 overall.

Insight: Mason is 8-2-2 since Jan. 6 with one shutout over that span. It's too bad he hasn't been able to stay healthy this season. He is just 13-13-8 on the season.

Insight: Mason allowed a weird goal from outside the blue line seven seconds into the game, but it was disallowed. Philadelphia erased a, 2-1, deficit to take a, 3-2, lead early in the third period. Mason had to make 16 saves to keep the one goal margin. He is now 12-13-7 this season.

Insight: It was nice to see Mason continue to play well after he allowed just one goal in relief of Ray Emery on Tuesday. Mason has allowed just three goals in the last 61 shots he has faced.

Insight: Ray Emery should replace him with Rob Zepp being brought up from Lehigh Valley (AHL). Mason doesn't have a very good record (8-12-6) but has good statistics - 2.46 GAA and .920 save percentage.

Insight: Mason stopped 31-of-32 shots he faced in regulation and overtime, then made saves on two of the first three shootout attempts, but the game was still tied. Mason, again, stopped two of the next three Florida shootout shots, however, Philadelphia did not score on any of their three.
