Finished fifth on the tackles list for Troy with 66 stops as a senior in 2009, second in both sacks (7.0) and quarterback hurries (28) as he teamed with Brandon Lang to create one of the most devastating defensive tandems in the Sun Belt Conference...In 13 games last season, Sheffield was tied for fourth on the Trojans with 10.5 tackles for loss...As someone who has a nose for the ball, Sheffield was sixth in the SBC in sacks and fourth in TFLs as a junior, not to mention third in forced fumbles...Worked his way slowly into the lineup in 2007, starting 11 games at defensive end, but showing just 27 tackles for his efforts on the season overall...Having Lang on the opposite side of the line meant offenses had to pay attention to him as well, opening the door for Sheffield to make his share of plays in the backfield.
