Description: This could be the end for free agent guard Brandon Roy. SOURCE: Ben Golliver, SB Nation
Insight: Roy endured a short-lived comeback with the Timberwolves last season. Knee injuries limited him to just five games and now Roy says his "basketball days are numbered." He hasn't officially retired but it looks like he's headed in that direction.

Description: Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy (knee) is once again out indefinitely. He was targeting Saturday for a return to the lineup but experienced setbacks in his rehab. SOURCE: Adrian Wojnarowski
Insight: It has been a career full of setbacks for Roy, who was once an elite NBA player but is now fighting to keep his career alive.

Description: According to Jerry Zgoda of the Minnesota Star Tribune, T-Wolves guard Brandon Roy could return to the lineup Saturday against Phoenix if he doesn't suffer any setbacks at Friday's practice.
Insight: Don't be fooled by the familiar name on the back of his jersey: this isn't the same player who made three All-Star appearances in a row for the Trail Blazers between 2008 and 2010. We lost our faith in Roy several knee surgeries ago.

Description: Timberwolves shooting guard Brandon Roy (knee) will return to the team Sunday but only to be re-evaluated. He won't practice, Minnesota GM David Kahn said. SOURCE: Pioneer Press
Insight: Roy had yet another knee surgery in mid-November to relieve soreness in his right knee. He came out of a one-year retirement to play with Minnesota this season but could find his career over if his knee doesn't respond well from the latest procedure.

Description: Yahoo is reporting that Minnesota shooting guard Brandon Roy will miss at least the next two weeks after undergoing surgery on his injured right knee.
Insight: This is Roy's seventh knee operation since high school and his fifth since turning pro in 2006. At this point, Roy is just too big of a health risk to warrant a spot on any fantasy rosters.

11/19/2012 10:22:00 AM
Description: Timberwolves veteran guard Brandon Roy is scheduled to have knee surgery Monday and will miss at least two weeks, according to beat writer Jerry Zgoda.
Insight: So far his return from retirement hasn't worked out from a health or production standpoint. He's averaging 5.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 4.6 apg in five contests.

11/16/2012 5:55:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves two-guard Brandon Roy (right knee) will miss Friday's game.
Insight: Roy will continue to rest his ailing knee. So far his return from retirement hasn't worked out from a health or production standpoint.

Description: Timberwolves two-guard Brandon Roy (right knee) is out for Wednesday's game against Charlotte.
Insight: Roy will continue to rest his ailing knee. He's shooting for a Friday return but fantasy owners shouldn't get their hopes up.

11/13/2012 1:39:00 PM
Description: Minnesota shooting guard Brandon Roy wasn't available for Monday night's game versus the Mavericks. Roy is battling a sore right knee.
Insight: Roy also missed Saturday's game. The hope is that he'll be ready for Wednesday's game against Charlotte.

Description: Minnesota shooting guard Brandon Roy won't be available for Monday night's game versus the Mavericks. Roy is battling a sore right knee.
Insight: Roy missed Saturday's game with the same injury. The hope is that he'll be ready for Wednesday's game against Charlotte.

Cold11/12/2012 2:08:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy (knee) is a game-time decision Monday against the Mavericks.
Insight: The T`Wolves are struggling with a bunch of backcourt injuries right now so they need Roy back. Unfortunately, he's been terrible in his return from a one-year retirement from professional hoops (5.8 ppg on 31.4 percent shooting).

Cold11/10/2012 7:36:00 PM
Description: Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy (knee) is not playing Saturday against the Bulls.
Insight: Fantasy owners won't miss him. Roy has been terrible so far in his return from a one-year retirement from professional hoops (5.8 ppg on 31.4 percent shooting). Chase Budinger (12.4 ppg) will start at SG.

Cold11/10/2012 11:30:00 AM
Description: Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy injured his right knee Friday against the Pacers.
Insight: He's traveling with the team to Chicago for Saturday's game, which is obviously a good sign. Roy hasn't been fantasy relevant so far in his return from a one-year retirement from professional hoops (5.8 ppg on 31.4 percent shooting).

Cold11/8/2012 10:37:00 AM
Description: Minnesota guard Brandon Roy apparently left his shot in retirement. In four games, all starts, Roy has made just 8-of-30 from the field and 0-of-9 from 3-point land.
Insight: We certainly expect Roy to improve on his current numbers (5.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 5.5 apg) once he starts shooting better but that might not be enough to give him fantasy relevance.

11/5/2012 10:44:00 AM
Description: Minnesota guard Brandon Roy (knee) is not going to be the superstar he once was in Portland, but we hope he tops out above his current production level. Sunday he shot 0-for-3 from the field and finished with four points, one rebound and zero assists.
Insight: Roy was a three-time All-Star in Portland between 2008-10 (22.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.9 apg) and while we know he won't be that guy again, we are certainly hoping for more than his current 7.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.0 apg.

10/12/2012 4:30:00 PM
Description: Minnesota guard Brandon Roy (knee) played well in Wednesday's preseason game (23 minutes, 13 pts, 4 reb), but more importantly was able to recover and practice on Thursday.
Insight: Roy was a three-time All-Star in Portland between 2008-10 (22.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.9 apg) and while we know he can't be that guy again because of chronic bad knees, he could be a solid contributor on a young Timberwolves team.

7/5/2012 10:56:00 PM
Description: Brandon Roy has verbally agreed to come out of retirement and play for the Timberwolves next season.
Insight: While we're not expecting Roy to return to the form that made him a three-time All-Star between 2008-10, we're not ready to totally discount him yet either. At the very least, he'll probably be better than Minnesota's current starter at shooting guard, the underachieving Wesley Johnson (6 pgg last season).

6/24/2012 9:39:00 PM
Description: The Warriors have expressed interest in signing former Portland guard Brandon Roy if he comes out of retirement next season.
Insight: Roy seems to be on the comeback trail after announcing last week that he was "preparing for a return." Roy's career scoring average is 19 ppg but he saw that average fall to just 12.2 ppg in 2010-11 while struggling with knee injuries.

5/23/2011 5:35:00 PM
Description: The Blazers have fired former GM Rich Cho. SOURCE: Blazers Edge
Insight: This came out of left field a bit. Cho did a decent job and should have been commended for acquiring Gerald Wallace for Dante Cunningham and some assets the Blazers will not miss.

4/25/2011 9:52:00 PM
Description: Brandon Roy could not keep the ball rolling after his 18-point fourth quarter in Game 4 as he could only muster five points in 26 minutes.
Insight: While it was a great story that he blew up and all, it was unlikely he could do it again. Roy should only be drafted in deep leagues next year.
