NBA Game Summary - Sacramento at Phoenix

(Friday, December 13th)

Final Score: Phoenix 116, Sacramento 107

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Goran Dragic drained four 3-pointers en route to a team-high 29 points, as the Phoenix Suns spoiled Rudy Gay's Sacramento debut with a 116-107 triumph over the Kings on Friday at US Airways Center.

Eric Bledsoe scored a career-high 28 points and handed out eight assists, while Miles Plumlee supplied 12 points and nine rebounds to help the Suns extended their season-high win streak to four games.

"It's never about one guy," Dragic said of the Suns' balanced scoring attack. "The more people we get involved, the better. That's what I try to do every time we play and I think we did that tonight."

Gay, acquired in a trade with Toronto on Monday, scored 24 points, while Isaiah Thomas led the way with 29 points for the Kings, who have lost two straight and eight of their last 10 games.

"I still have a lot to learn and I think I can still get better with this system and this team," Gay said of his debut. "Today was just the start."

DeMarcus Cousins contributed 15 points and 16 boards in the setback.

Sacramento's Jason Thompson snapped a 63-63 tie with a jumper 2:25 into the third before Phoenix ripped off 14 straight points to create some separation.

Bledsoe and Dragic each scored five in the run, which Dragic capped with a 3- pointer to make it 77-65 Phoenix with 6:13 left in the third.

The Kings countered with seven straight points to get within five, and trailed by three, 85-82, heading into the final frame.

The margin was four, 92-88, early in the fourth before a Channing Frye triple sparked an 11-3 swing that Plumlee capped with an alley-oop slam for a 103-91 advantage with 6:08 to play.

A driving Thomas layup with three minutes left brought the Kings within 105-101, but Bledsoe answered with a trey and P.J. Tucker followed with a layup to give Phoenix a nine-point spread with 2:03 remaining.

Sacramento never got closer than six the rest of the way.

With the game tied 28-28 late in the opening period, Sacramento used an 11-0 swing spanning the first and second quarters to grab a 39-28 lead.

A Frye 3-pointer just before halftime sent Phoenix into the break facing a slim 61-58 deficit.
