No surprise LeBron leads NBA fantasy forwards

LeBron James gives great production in almost every category.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - It was certainly no surprise who was named the best forward in NBA fantasy leagues - LeBron James. He's one of the top-three players in the game and led his team to the best record in the Eastern Division. James does everything for his Cleveland Cavaliers and your fantasy squad and only if you are nitpicking you could complain that his three-point shooting percentage is too low (34.4) or his turnovers (241) are on the high side.

On the other hand, James is the league's second-leading scorer and gives you great production in almost every category. But then that's what you expected from a player with an Average Draft Position (ADP) of 2.8.

With an ADP of 89, Troy Murphy was around a ninth-round draft choice, who played well above that level. Murphy's shooting percentages were as good as any forward, so despite the fact he didn't score a lot (14.3 ppg), his 11.8 rebounds-per-game and very low turnover total makes Murphy our "2008-09 TSN Best Bargain Forward Award" winner.

Shawn Marion owners must really miss the days when he and Steve Nash ran up and down the floor in Phoenix. With the Suns' running game, Marion would score 20 points-per-game and haul in double figure rebounds on a regular basis. Apparently, fantasy owners still expected him to post the same numbers with Dwayne Wade making the passes, but it didn't happen. Even with the mid-season trade to the up tempo Toronto Raptors Marion couldn't live up to his ADP of 9.6 - putting up just 12.9 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 2.0 apg. That's just not enough production from a late-first round or early second round pick. Unfortunately that makes Marion our "TSN Most Disappointing NBA Fantasy Forward of 2008-09."
