Seattle Seahawks Player Notes
For The Last 365 Days

Tyler Lockett, WR5/1/2015 9:54:00 PM
Description: The Seattle Seahawks picked Kansas State wide receiver Tyler Lockett with the No. 69 overall pick in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Insight: Mel Kiper compared Lockett to Phillip Dorsett, who the Colts selected at the end of the first round, so the Seahawks certainly get value here in the early third round. The weakess position on the Seahawks roster is wide receiver, so Lockett could be that missing playmaker this team has needed since it traded away Percy Harvin.
Jimmy Graham, TE3/10/2015 4:06:00 PM
Description: Tight end Jimmy Graham has apparently been traded to the Seattle Seahawks.
Insight: Graham's value has to take a bit of a hit just because the Saints throw the ball a lot more than the Seahawks. But don't think Seattle is paying Graham big money to be a decoy.
Jeremy Lane, CB2/2/2015 3:34:00 PM
Description: Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane's wrist injury turns out for be a compound fracture.
Insight: Lane intercepted Tom Brady's pass into the end zone on New England's second drive of the game, but Lane hurt his wrist when Julian Edelman tackled him. The Seahawks secondary sorely missed him down the stretch. He should be fine for next season.
Richard Sherman, CB2/2/2015 3:30:00 PM
Description: Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman will undergo Tommy John surgery, according to coach Pete Carroll.
Insight: Sherman injured his left ulnar collateral ligament in the NFC Championship Game, but played in the Super Bowl. He's likely to miss most offseason work, but should be ready to go for Week 1.
Jermaine Kearse, WR2/1/2015 10:50:00 PM
Description: Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse channeled his inner David Tyree, making one of the most improbable catches in Super Bowl history.
Insight: On the final drive with about a minute remaining, the Patriots defender knocked Kearse to the ground, but the ball knocked around several different body parts, never touching the ground, and Kearse reeling in the ball. It set up Seattle with first-and-goal, but rookie Malcolm Butler intercepted Russell Wilson to seal the, 28-24, victory.
Chris Matthews, WR2/1/2015 10:40:00 PM
Description: Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews released his inner Mario Manningham, having a tremendous performance in Super Bowl XLIX.
Insight: Matthews had never caught a pass in the NFL before and caught four passes for 109 yards with a touchdown. It was clear that his size was going to be an advantage especially in the red zone. Matthews performance will likely be forgotten due to the final result of the game, but fantasy owners should keep an eye on him because the rest of the Seattle receiving core is very average.
Marshawn Lynch, RB2/1/2015 10:38:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch had 24 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown versus the Patriots, but he is likely upset he didn't get one more yard.
Insight: Seattle was on the Patriots 1-yard line on second down with about 25 seconds to go, and the Seahawks elected to put the ball in the air rather than pound the rock with Lynch one more time. Lynch was unstoppable in the second half. Russell Wilson threw a game-ending interception. Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and coach Pete Carroll will have to live with that decision for the rest of their lives.
Russell Wilson, QB2/1/2015 10:31:00 PM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw a very, very costly interception in the final minute of Super Bowl XLIX.
Insight: Wilson was just 12-of-21 with 247 yards, but he continued to make big plays to keep Seattle in the game. They were able to built a 10-point lead in the third quarter but failed to put away the Patriots. On the final drive with about 25 seconds left in the game, the Seahawks elected to pass from the Patriots 1-yard line instead of run it again with Marshawn Lynch. Wilson threw an interception to clinch the Patriots fourth Super Bowl victory in 14 years.
Jeremy Lane, CB2/1/2015 7:05:00 PM
Description: Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane left the Super Bowl with a wrist injury.
Insight: Lane intercepted Tom Brady's pass into the end zone on New England's second drive of the game, but Lane hurt his wrist when Julian Edelman tackled him. Lane is doubtful to return.
Earl Thomas, S1/29/2015 10:28:00 AM
Description: Seahawks FS Earl Thomas is dealing with a shoulder injury, but it won't keep him out of the Super Bowl, says Seattle coach Pete Carroll.
Insight: Thomas and corner Richard Sherman will both likely be less than 100 percent, but they will still give Patriots quarterback Tom Brady all he can handle.
Marshawn Lynch, RB1/29/2015 10:22:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is listed as probable for Sunday's Super Bowl, but that's just for official purposes - he's going to play.
Insight: In nine playoff games, Lynch is averaging 90.6 ypg on the ground and almost a touchdown per game (8). In fact, checking the prop bets, Lynch is -140 to score a touchdown on Sunday.
Richard Sherman, CB1/29/2015 10:12:00 AM
Description: Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman isn't just dealing with a sprained left elbow, he's also on a baby watch.
Insight: Sherman's girlfriend is do this week, so she along with her doctor are in Arizona just in case so the cornerback won't have to fly back home to Seattle if his son is born. Now if his son will just give him about a four-hour window late Sunday afternoon it will work out for everyone involved.
Richard Sherman, CB1/19/2015 8:24:00 PM
Description: Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman's MRI indicated he has a sprained left elbow according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Insight: As expected, Sherman suffered an injury in his left arm. He could move the arm during the second part of the second half, but he played through the injury and plans to do the same versus the Patriots. It will be interesting to see how much Patriots quarterback Tom Brady tests the potentially one-armed Sherman.
Jermaine Kearse, WR1/18/2015 6:44:00 PM
Description: Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse made his only reception count on Sunday afternoon.
Insight: The catch was the game-winning 35-yard touchdown in overtime. Kearse is not a great fantasy option, but the play was impressive nevertheless.
Doug Baldwin, WR1/18/2015 6:43:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin came up big on Sunday.
Insight: He was Russell Wilson's top target, with nine of them. Baldwin caught six passes for 106 yards, including a 35-yarder in overtime, to set up the game-winning score.
Marshawn Lynch, RB1/18/2015 6:42:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch rushed for 157 yards and a toucdown Sunday against the Packers.
Insight: He did so on 25 carries, and caught one pass for 26 more yards. Lynch really got it going in the fourth quarter, and became the unstoppable force we all know him to be.
Russell Wilson, QB1/18/2015 6:40:00 PM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson somehow overcame four interceptions, and lead a furious comeback Sunday versus Green Bay.
Insight: He threw for 209 yards and rushed for 25 more. Wilson came alive in fourth quarter and overtime, where he rushed for a score, and ended the game on a 35-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse.
Justin Britt, OT1/18/2015 2:03:00 PM
Description: Seahawks right tackle Justin Britt is inactive for the NFC Championship game against Green Bay.
Insight: Britt has an injured knee. He played every game this season, but graded out as just average. Alvin Bailey is expected to get the start.
Tony McDaniel, DT1/15/2015 3:51:00 PM
Description: Seahawks defensive lineman Tony McDaniel hasn't practiced this week due to a shoulder injury and should be considered questionable for Sunday's NFC Championship against Green Bay.
Insight: McDaniel started 14 of 16 games this season. Seattle rotates six or seven guys along the front during a game so they will still be strong even if he isn't active.
Kevin Norwood, WR1/12/2015 3:55:00 PM
Description: Rookie wide receiver Kevin Norwood could see additional snaps with Paul Richardson done for the season due to a torn ACL.
Insight: Norwood didn't see much action this season, catching just nine balls for 102 yards and zero touchdowns, but could be the No. 3 option behind Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. Or the Seahawks could go more double tight end formations.
Paul Richardson, WR1/12/2015 3:54:00 PM
Description: Seahawks speedster Paul Richardson's injured a knee has been diagnosed as a torn ACL and he's done for the playoffs.
Insight: He hasn't done much for fantasy owners this season (29-271-1) therefore his unavailablilty for the NFC chamampionship game shouldn't change many lineups.
Byron Maxwell, CB1/12/2015 3:00:00 PM
Description: Seattle cornerback Byron Maxwell (illness) missed a lot of snaps Saturday and is questionable for Sunday versus Green Bay.
Insight: The Seahawks would prefer to have him start over Tharold Simon, particular with the quality receiving corps of the Packers coming to town.
Paul Richardson, WR1/11/2015 9:38:00 AM
Description: Seahawks speedster Paul Richardson injured a knee in the third quarter of the Division playoff game against Carolina.
Insight: It's being called a sprained knee, but we await word of how severe. He hasn't done much for fantasy owners this season (29-271-1) therefore his availablilty for the NFC chamampionship game shouldn't change many lineups.
Luke Willson, TE1/10/2015 11:38:00 PM
Description: Seahawks tight end Luke Willson is becoming quarterback Russell Wilson's favorite target.
Insight: During the Seahawks seven-game winning streak, the Wilson-Willson connection has become a lot more prevalent. Willson led the team with four catches and had 68 yards and a touchdown. The score came on a key third down conversion at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Willson was able to break a few tackles and find the end zone.
Jermaine Kearse, WR1/10/2015 11:31:00 PM
Description: Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse had three catches for 129 yards and a touchdown in the NFC Division Round against the Panthers.
Insight: Kearse made a one-handed catch in the middle of the second quarter that he took all the way for a 63-yard touchdown. It was one of many explosive plays for Seattle. Kearse caught all three of his targets.
Marshawn Lynch, RB1/10/2015 11:27:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch didn't have a great game statistically but was key to Seattle's victory over Carolina.
Insight: Lynch had 14 carries for 59 yards as the Panthers kept him pretty much bottled up much of the game. Lynch did have one bruising run for 25 yards in the third quarter.
Russell Wilson, QB1/10/2015 11:23:00 PM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had another tremendous playoff outing.
Insight: Wilson was 15-of-22 with 268 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also added 23 carries on the ground. Wilson and the Seahawks are the first defending champion to win a playoff game since the Patriots in 2005.
Max Unger, C1/9/2015 11:43:00 AM
Description: Seahawks starting center Max Unger is expected to return to the lineup for the first time since Week 12.
Insight: Unger's return would be a big boost to the Seahawks offensive line and just another reason to like Seattle's chances of moving on.
Jermaine Kearse, WR1/9/2015 11:41:00 AM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (hamstring) has benefitted from the bye and has gotten in a full week of practice.
Insight: Kearse has 38 receptions for 537 yards and one touchdown in 15 games which isn't great and not very exciting for fantasy owners.
Marshawn Lynch, RB1/9/2015 11:38:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has gotten in a full week of practice so his back injury should not be part of the equation for the Seahawks playoff game against Carolina.
Insight: Lynch finished the regular season with his second-best rushing total - 1,306 yards and a career-best 13 rushing touchdowns, plus four receiving scores. He should see a huge workload against the Panthers.
Tony Moeaki, TE1/9/2015 11:35:00 AM
Description: Seahawks backup tight end, Tony Moeaki, is questionable for Saturday's NFC Divisional Playoff against Carolina.
Insight: Moeaki is third on the depth chart so this game-time decision shouldn't change anything for fantasy owners. Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet should see most of the snaps.
Paul Richardson, WR12/29/2014 10:20:00 AM
Description: Seahawks speedster Paul Richardson, the 45th-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, caught five balls for a season-high 60 yards.
Insight: He only averaged 9.3 yards per reception this season, but saw limited snaps, so there is room for improvement.
Doug Baldwin, WR12/29/2014 10:16:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught just three balls for 43 yards.
Insight: The No. 1 Seahawks receiver didn't get much of anything done in this one, but his defense took care of things. We suspect by next season, Seattle management will find a better No. 1 for Wilson.
Russell Wilson, QB12/29/2014 10:15:00 AM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was very quiet in Week 17, throwing for 239 yard and one interception and rushing for just seven yards.
Insight: Wilson made them look silly last weekend, throwing for 339 yards and a pair of touchdowns and running for 88 yards and a third score, but for those with a championship matchup in Week 17 he fell well short of expectations.
Marshawn Lynch, RB12/29/2014 10:13:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch didn't have a great day, but still combined for 96 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown.
Insight: Lynch finished the regular season with his second-best rushing total - 1,306 yards and a career-best 13 rushing touchdowns and four receiving scores.
Jermaine Kearse, WR12/23/2014 4:15:00 PM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse injured a hamstring Sunday night and has been downgraded to out for Week 17.
Insight: Kearse has very little fantasy value as the second or third receiver on a running team. He has 38 receptions for 537 yards and one touchdown in 15 games.
Jermaine Kearse, WR12/22/2014 1:36:00 PM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse injured a hamstring Sunday night and is doubtful for Week 17 according to coach Pete Carroll.
Insight: Kearse has very little fantasy value as the second or third receiver on a running team. He has 38 receptions for 537 yards and one touchdown in 15 games.
Doug Baldwin, WR12/22/2014 9:34:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught seven of 11 targets for 113 yards.
Insight: Although he's the No. 1 Seahawks receivers and their deep threat, he's not a consistent fantasy option. Sunday night against Arizona, however, he was pretty good.
Marshawn Lynch, RB12/22/2014 9:29:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch didn't start the game or even play in the first quarter, due to illness, but still managed to make fantasy owners happy.
Insight: Lynch's 79-yard touchdown run wasn't guite as good as the 2010 playoff run against New Orleans, but it was close. He finished the day with just 10 carries, but 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Luke Willson, TE12/22/2014 9:26:00 AM
Description: Seahawks tight end Luke Willson scored twice, including an 80-yard score in the second quarter.
Insight: The Seattle tight end caught three balls for 139 yards and will likely be the top fantasy tight end of the week. He picked a great time for it - Championship Week.
Russell Wilson, QBHot12/22/2014 9:25:00 AM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was unstoppable Sunday night against a supposedly very good Cardinals defense.
Insight: Wilson made them look silly at times. He threw for 339 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran for 88 yards and a third score. On the rushing TD, two Cardinals defensers were standing right in front of him and didn't lay a glove on him.
Doug Baldwin, WR12/15/2014 10:18:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught three balls for 53 yards.
Insight: Although he's the No. 1 Seahawks receivers, he's not a consistent fantasy option. The Seahawks went ultra conservative on offense and everyone other than Marshawn Lynch suffered because of it.
Jermaine Kearse, WR12/15/2014 10:17:00 AM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse saw six targets and led the team with five receptions for 78 yards.
Insight: Kearse has yet to prove himself a value to fantasy owners. This was his season high for receiving yards and he has only one touchdown reception. Kearse should still not be owned in fantasy leagues.
Russell Wilson, QB12/15/2014 10:14:00 AM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was quiet in Week 15 with 168 yards and a touchdown passing and 27 yards on the ground.
Insight: Games like this one are why Wilson's fantasy value is limited. He's not a prolific passer, doesn't have great receivers and the team can win even when they are ultra conservative on offense because of their great defense.
Marshawn Lynch, RB12/15/2014 10:10:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch rushed 21 times for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: The 49ers defense played well, particularly in the first half, but Lynch still managed to help fantasy owners. It will be a tough game again in Week 16 against an Arizona Cardinals defense that is No. 6 against the run and has yielded just six rushing touchdowns this season.
Jermaine Kearse, WRCold12/8/2014 10:20:00 AM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse saw seven targets, but managed just three receptions for 37 yards.
Insight: Kearse has yet to prove himself a value to fantasy owners. His season high for yards receiving is just 70 and he has only one touchdown reception. Kearse should not be owned in fantasy leagues.
Doug Baldwin, WR12/8/2014 10:16:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught five balls for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: Although he's the No. 1 Seahawks receivers, he's not a consistent fantasy option. But the Eagles were concerned about the running of Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson and that opened up the secondary.
Russell Wilson, QB12/8/2014 10:14:00 AM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was "on" both with his arm and legs against the Eagles.
Insight: Wilson threw for 263 yards and two scores and rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown. This is the upper limit of what Wilson usually produces.
Marshawn Lynch, RB12/8/2014 10:10:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch set the tone of the game with his hard running and totaled 113 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.
Insight: Lynch rushed 23 times for 86 yards which isn't exciting, but it forced the Eagles defense to come up close to the line of scrimmage and opened up passing lanes.
Marshawn Lynch, RB12/7/2014 3:33:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch (back) is active for the big game against Philadelphia as expected.
Insight: Lynch should be the focus of the Seahawks offense ... and the Eagles defense.
Luke Willson, TE11/28/2014 9:11:00 AM
Description: Seahawks tight end Luke Willson led the team in targets (6) against the 49ers
Insight: That might be an exciting fact, except that he caught just four for 39 yards. Another tight end, Tony Moeaki, who led the team in yards receiving, caught one for 63 yards.
Doug Baldwin, WRCold11/28/2014 9:10:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught just two balls for 28 yards against the 49ers.
Insight: Although he's the No. 1 Seahawks receivers, he's not a very good fantasy option. He's totaled just four receptions for 34 yards over the past two games.Quarterback Russell Wilson doesn't rely on any one receiver.
Russell Wilson, QB11/28/2014 9:06:00 AM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had 236 passing yards and a touchdown and added 35 rushing yards against the 49ers.
Insight: It's a typical Wilson-type game that relies on a combination of running and passing to make him a QB1.
Marshawn Lynch, RB11/28/2014 9:04:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch cracked the 100-yard mark for the third time in four games racking up 104 yards on 20 carries against the San Francisco 49ers Thursday night.
Insight: It was a solid though unspectacluar performance that won't have fantasyt owners jumping for joy or crying. After his four touchdown outburst against the Giants on Nov. 9, he hasn't scored in three games.
Doug Baldwin, WR11/24/2014 12:18:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught just two balls for six yards against the Cardinals.
Insight: Russell Wilson spread the ball around and didn't challenge the Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie duo, instead targeting his tight ends for most of the afternoon.
Russell Wilson, QB11/24/2014 12:14:00 PM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had just 211 passing yards, but added 73 rushing yards against the Cardinals.
Insight: It's a typical Wilson-type game that relies on his running to make him a QB1.
Marshawn Lynch, RB11/24/2014 12:14:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch couldn't put together a third straight 100-yard game and disappointed fantasy owners.
Insight: Lynch rushed 15 times for just 39 yards and caught three balls for 43 yards. It's not a fluke that the Cardinals are a top-five team against the run (84.4 ypg).
Luke Willson, TE11/16/2014 5:57:00 PM
Description: Seahawks tight end Luke Willson caught three passes for 51 yards against the Chiefs.
Insight: Willson made the most of his opportunities, catching all three targets he saw. Considering the Seahawks leading receiver had 54 yards, it was a good fantasy day for Willson. Unforunately, fellow tight end Tony Moeaki caught the touchdown.
Doug Baldwin, WR11/16/2014 5:51:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught a touchdown in the, 24-20, loss in Kansas City.
Insight: Baldwin caught six passes for 45 yards in addition to the touchdown. He was tied for the team lead with nine targets. Of all the Seattle wide receivers, he is the most reliable in fantasy.
Marshawn Lynch, RB11/16/2014 5:47:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch did not score in Week 11 after four touchdowns in Week 10.
Insight: Lynch did rush 24 times for 124 yards, but the Seahawks, like every other NFL team this season, did not score on the ground against the Chiefs. Lynch remains a RB1.
Russell Wilson, QB11/16/2014 5:44:00 PM
Description: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had just 178 passing yards and added 71 rushing yards against the Chiefs.
Insight: Wilson did throw for two touchdowns to turn in a decent fantasy day. With his running ability, he remains a low-end QB1.
Marshawn Lynch, RB11/14/2014 4:50:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch (calf) returned to practice on Friday, but is being listed as questionable for Week 11.
Insight: He had missed Wednesday's and Thursday's practices, and coach Pete Carroll admitted Lynch is "banged up." However, we feel he will be a full-go on Sunday, as we have him as our fourth ranked running back for Week 11.
Luke Willson, TE11/14/2014 4:42:00 PM
Description: Seattle tight end Luke Willson (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Week 11.
Insight: We have him listed 24th in our tight end rankings this week, but even if Willson plays, Cooper Helfet and Tony Moeaki will steal some snaps from him. Owners should avoid all Seahawk tight ends.
Zach Miller, TE11/12/2014 3:48:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks placed tight end Zach Miller on injured reserve with his ankle injury, ending his season.
Insight: Miller needs another surgery on his ankle because the first surgery did not fix the problem. Miller will likely be a cap-casualty before the 2015 season. Seattle will turn to Luke Wilson at tight end.
Doug Baldwin, WRCold11/10/2014 10:30:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin led Seattle in targets (6), but totaled just 31 yards on four receptions.
Insight: Baldwin is the team's No. 1 target, but did little as the Seahawks featured a powerful ground attack. That's two poor games in a row and he can't be counted on if Seattle is going to run at this level.
Russell Wilson, QB11/10/2014 10:28:00 AM
Description: Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson has a very quiet day, throwing for 172 yards and was intercepted twice, but his legs saved fantasy owners.
Insight: Wilson rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown. Seattle rushed for a stunning 350 yards against the Giants and Wilson was one of two Seahawks to run for more than 100 yards.
Marshawn Lynch, RBHot11/10/2014 10:26:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch exploded for 140 yards and four touchdowns.
Insight: Lynch had much of his offensive line back in front of him and it showed. There were holes to run through and Lynch took full advantage. Lets hope it continues.
Marshawn Lynch, RB11/9/2014 3:16:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is "ready to roll" against the Giants this Sunday.
Insight: Lynch was dealing with a minor calf injury, but was never in doubt for this one. He has much of his offensive line back in front of him and should have a big game.
Max Unger, C11/9/2014 10:42:00 AM
Description: Seahawks starting center Max Unger is expected to return to the lineup for the first time since Week 5.
Insight: Unger and the addition of Russell Okung are two reasons we like Marshawn Lynch this weekend.
Marshawn Lynch, RB11/7/2014 4:34:00 PM
Description: Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told ESPN Seattle reporter Liz Mathews that running back Marshawn Lynch is "ready to roll" against the Giants this Sunday.
Insight: Lynch sat out Thursday's practice, but Carroll reassured fantasy owners he will play. Lynch is The Sports Network's No. 1 running back for Week 10, so make sure he is in the lineup.
Doug Baldwin, WR11/3/2014 9:48:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin led Seattle in targets, but totaled just 38 yards of five receptions.
Insight: With Percy Harvin gone, Baldwin is the team's No. 1 target, but did little against Oakland's secondary.
Russell Wilson, QB11/3/2014 9:45:00 AM
Description: Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson has a very quiet day, throwing for 179 yards and rushing for 31 yards without a touchdown.
Insight: Wilson completed just 17 of 35 passes against a surprisingly stubborn Oakland defense.
Marshawn Lynch, RB11/3/2014 9:44:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was a major part of the offense against Oakland and led the team with 26 touches.
Insight: He had 21 carries for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns and caught all five targets for 76 yards. Now that's what we like to see from our stud running back.
Doug Baldwin, WR10/26/2014 6:35:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin led Seattle in receiving during Week 8.
Insight: He had six catches for 61 yards, on eight targets, and clearly looks like Seattle's top receiving threat.
Marshawn Lynch, RB10/26/2014 6:33:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch had a subpar day on Sunday.
Insight: He had 14 carries for 62 yards, and was unable to find the end zone. Lynch has failed to reach the 100-yard plateau on the ground in each game since Week 1.
Russell Wilson, QB10/26/2014 6:31:00 PM
Description: Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 199 yards and rushed for 35 yards in Sunday's win over Carolina.
Insight: He threw one touchdown, as well as an interception, and led the Seahawks to a game-winning, fourth-quarter touchdown. It wasn't a great fantasy day for Wilson, but he remains a solid QB1.
Derrick Coleman, FB10/20/2014 1:08:00 PM
Description: Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman apparently broke his foot while warming up for the game against the Rams on Sunday, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
Insight: Seattle used Robert Turbin as the fullback Sunday.
Tharold Simon, CB10/20/2014 1:08:00 PM
Description: Seahawks cornerback Tharold Simon sprained an ankle in Sunday's game and did not return.
Insight: No timetable has been announced for when he'll get back on the field.
Doug Baldwin, WRHot10/19/2014 6:20:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin was rumored to be a target for Percy Harvin's anger.
Insight: With Harvin traded to the Jets, Baldwin excelled on the field as Seattle's No. 1 receiving target. He caught seven of 11 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Harvin had just 133 yards in receptions in five games.
Russell Wilson, QBHot10/19/2014 6:18:00 PM
Description: Russell Wilson owners will be very happy with his 300-yard passing game and 100-yard rushing game. He threw two touchdown passes and ran for another.
Insight: Wilson is normally a guy who puts up around 200 yards passing a 50 yards rushing so for him to hit both bonuses is unexpectedly huge production.
Percy Harvin, WRCold10/17/2014 4:40:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks Percy Harvin have put Percy Harvin on the injury report due to a thigh injury.
Insight: Harvin has only once totaled more than 50 combined yards in a game this season. At this point he's not worthy of a fantasy start. He has loads of talent, it's just not being used.
Zach Miller, TE10/15/2014 3:36:00 PM
Description: Seahawks tight end Zach Miller has been ruled out for Week 7 at the Rams according to ESPN.
Insight: Luke Wilson will start at tight end. Miller remains week-to-week.
Jermaine Kearse, WR10/13/2014 5:48:00 PM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse led the Seahawks in receiving yards against Dallas.
Insight: He had three catches for 62 yards, on seven targets. Kearse is still only a WR4, for now.
Byron Maxwell, CB10/13/2014 1:17:00 PM
Description: Seattle cornerback Byron Maxwell has been diagnosed with a calf strain, according to Seahawks reporter Liz Mathews.
Insight: No timetable for his return has been announced. Marcus Burley is likely to start opposite Richard Sherman and should be expected to be the target for opposing teams.
Percy Harvin, WRCold10/13/2014 10:22:00 AM
Description: The Seahawks Percy Harvin continues to be more decoy than productive receiver.
Insight: Harvin has only once totaled more than 50 combined yards in a game this season. At this point he's not worthy of a fantasy start.
Marshawn Lynch, RB10/13/2014 10:20:00 AM
Description: Once again the Seahawks forgot they have a stud running back in their backfield.
Insight: Lynch saw just 10 carries for 61 yards and caught one ball for one yard. That's not enough opportunities for one of the game's best running backs.
Marshawn Lynch, RB10/13/2014 10:20:00 AM
Description: At least Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch saw 20 touches today.
Insight: He only totaled 71 yards and no touchdowns, but the workload was more in tune with what fantasy owners expect.
Russell Wilson, QB10/13/2014 10:18:00 AM
Description: Seahawks QB Russell Wilson couldn't do anything with his arm or legs against a tough Dallas defense.
Insight: Wilson was just 14-of-28 for 126 yards with no touchdown passes and one interception. He did run one in from nine yards out in the third quarter, but it was an unsatisfying day for his fantasy owners.
Charlie Whitehurst, QB10/12/2014 12:02:00 PM
Description: Tennessee quarterback Charlie Whitehurst is starting Sunday against the Jaguars.
Insight: Even with a decent matchup, Whitehurst is no more than a QB2 heading into thhis contest.
Percy Harvin, WR10/9/2014 7:57:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks added Percy Harvin to the injury report on Thursday as he missed practice according to Seahawks.com.
Insight: This is never good news, but we do not believe Harvin will miss Week 6 against the Cowboys. Monitor his status through the weekend, but for now, he is a viable WR2.
Percy Harvin, WR10/6/2014 9:58:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin walked off the field with a trainer seconds before halftime against the Redskins on Monday night. UPDATE: Harvin had a cramp and he is hoping to return.
Insight: It looked like Harvin's left leg just buckled on him. At this point, it is too early to say if it was his knee or ankle that was effected. Hopefully, he comes out with the rest of the team for the third quarter.
Luke Willson, TE9/29/2014 1:37:00 PM
Description: Seattle backup tight end Luke Willson should jump up to the starting role with word that Zach Miller will be out an extended period of time due to an ankle issue.
Insight: Willson has one career catch for one yard. Fantasy owners should wait and see how Russell Wilson uses him before adding him to a roster.
Zach Miller, TE9/29/2014 1:34:00 PM
Description: Seattle tight end Zach Miller had a procedure on his ankle during the bye week and will miss an "extended period of time, " according to the FOX Sports report.
Insight: Miller wasn't a fantasy option, so this shouldn't change any lineups.
Percy Harvin, WR9/22/2014 11:25:00 AM
Description: Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin is a pain for defensive coordinators, but hasn't been as big a factor for fantasy owners as hoped for.
Insight: Harvin caught 7-of-9 targets for 42 yards but didn't catch anything and returned one kick for 13 yards. So far his numbers for the season are disappointing, but at least his presence is allowing others to get open.
Russell Wilson, QB9/22/2014 11:23:00 AM
Description: Seahawks QB Russell Wilson put together an excellent first half going 11-for-13 for 145 yards and a pair of scores.
Insight: he looked more like Peyton Manning than Manning did in the first half, but Wilson did little in the second half and finished with 223 yards, two TDs and 1 INT.
Marshawn Lynch, RBHot9/22/2014 11:22:00 AM
Description: The Seahawks remembered their stud running back, marshawn Lynch, Sunday after ignoring him in a loss to San Diego.
Insight: Lynch received 29 touched, totaled 128 yards and two touchdowns and the Seahawks got back into the win column. Coincidence ... I think not.
Jermaine Kearse, WR9/16/2014 2:19:00 PM
Description: Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse led the Seahawks in receiving yards against San Diego.
Insight: That's not really good news since he only produced 61 yards. Seattle simply doesn't throw enough to support a lot of fantasy wide receivers and Percy Harvin and Doug Baldwin figure to lead the way.
Percy Harvin, WR9/16/2014 2:16:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin was not used as much as we had hoped in Week 2 - rushing the ball two times, but only seeing one targeted pass.
Insight: Harvin caught 7-of-7 targets for 59 yards and rushed four times for 41 yards in the opener, but his three touches in San Diego are worrisome. The team simply has to make better use of his dynamic talents and if they continue at the Week 2 level fantasy owners might have to bail. Hopefully, it was just a one-game deviation.
Russell Wilson, QB9/14/2014 7:43:00 PM
Description: Seahawks QB Russell Wilson finished the afternoon 17-of-25 for 202 yards and two scores, but couldn't engineer a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter.
Insight: Wilson was again solid, but not spectacular. He has cracked the 230-yard passing mark just once in the last eight games. He's a much better team leader than fantasy asset. It was curious that the Seahawks risked an injury down nine points with 13 second remaining.
Marshawn Lynch, RB9/14/2014 7:38:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch carried the ball just six times, for 36 yards, but at least he helped fantasy owners with a touchdown reception.
Insight: It's hard to believe Seattle used their best weapon so little. It's been three years since Lynch was used so infrequently. They lost that game in Week 2 of 2011, too.
Robert Turbin, RB9/14/2014 3:18:00 PM
Description: Seattle backup back Robert Turbin is still the handcuff ot Marshawn Lynch with Christine Michael inactivfe for the second consecutive week.
Insight: Turbin is a good late-draft gamble for those who select Lynch in the first round. It will also be good insurance should Lynch's legal troubles arrive earlier than expected.
Robert Turbin, RB9/14/2014 3:18:00 PM
Description: Seattle backup back Robert Turbin is still the handcuff ot Marshawn Lynch with Christine Michael inactivfe for the second consecutive week.
Insight: Turbin saw six touches in the opener and is simply good insurance should Lynch run into trouble.
Christine Michael, RB9/12/2014 3:52:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Christine Michael (hamstring) has missed the first two days of practice this week and we await Friday to see if there is any chance he'll be ready to go in Week 2.
Insight: The second-year back went into training camp with a ton of buzz, but Marshawn Lynch remains the workhorse after resolving his contract issues and Robert Turbin will be his backup at least until Michael is healthy.
Russell Wilson, QB9/12/2014 9:49:00 AM
Description: Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw for just 191 yards in the Week 1 win, though he did manage two touchdowns (Ricardo Lockette, Derrick Coleman).
Insight: Wilson has cracked the 230-yard passing mark just once in the last seven games and his fantasy value is as a low-end starter. He's a much better team leader than fantasy asset. It's a good sign that he targeted talented Percy Harvin a team-high seven times in the opening week and may help his statistics down the road.
Percy Harvin, WR9/4/2014 11:53:00 PM
Description: Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin was as exciting as advertised producing as part of the passing game and running game.
Insight: Harvin missed most of last season due to inujury but looked perfectly matched for this offense. He caught 7-of-7 targets for 59 yards and rushed four times for 41 yards. Harvin also returned three kickoffs.
Marshawn Lynch, RBHot9/4/2014 11:43:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch opened the 2014 NFL regular season with a bang - rushing for 110 yards and two scores.
Insight: Lynch is tough enough to bring down, but when the Seahawks used Percy Harvin as a decoy it frequently left Lynch with plenty of running room.
Jeremy Lane, CB9/4/2014 10:59:00 PM
Description: Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane left Thursday night's game with a groing injury.
Insight: Lane primarily works in the nickel coverage. Given the Packers are well behind, they are likely to use three- and four-receiver sets meaning backup Marcus Burley should get tested.
Christine Michael, RB9/3/2014 3:10:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Christine Michael (hamstring) has been ruled out for Thursday night's season opener, according to coach Pete Carroll.
Insight: The second-year back went into training camp with a ton of buzz, but Marshawn Lynch remains the workhorse after resolving his contract issues and Robert Turbin will be his backup.
Christine Michael, RB9/1/2014 4:38:00 PM
Description: Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that running back Christine Michael (hamstring) is "banged up," according to Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle.
Insight: Michael is iffy for the season opener. The second-year back went into training camp with a ton of buzz, but Marshawn Lynch remains the workhorse after resolving his contract issues and Michael may still be behind Robert Turbin on the depth chart.
Terrelle Pryor, QB8/29/2014 9:32:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks have released quarterback Terrelle Pryor.
Insight: Tarvis Jackson beat him out for the backup job behind Russell Wilson. Pryor should have many suitors with his unique physical ability. He completed 21-of-39 passes for 281 yards, one touchdown and two picks. He also ran for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Marshawn Lynch, RB8/11/2014 8:37:00 PM
Description: According to the Seattle Times, police officers are investigating Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch after receiving an "allegation of an assault and personal property damage" from a female victim at an apartment in Bellevue, Washington.
Insight: Police said the alleged incident was reported to have occurred Sunday morning, but "no domestic violence or sexual assault was involved in the allegation." Lynch has had several run-ins with the law since he came into the NFL in 2007 -- his driver's license was revoked in 2008 for a hit-and-run incident, he was arrested during a traffic stop for having a gun in his trunk in 2009 and he was arrested again in 2012 for suspicion of DUI. He was suspended the first three games of 2009 by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for the second incident.
Marshawn Lynch, RB8/10/2014 8:37:00 PM
Description: According to the Seattle Times, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said running back Marshawn Lynch is "in really good shape."
Insight: Lynch skipped OTAs, minicamp and the first week of training camp, so it's good to see he's remained in shape. Carroll said the running back has dropped a little weight. Lynch was reportedly the most active he has been in camp during Sunday's practice. While Christine Michael is a threat to steal carries, Lynch is still an RB1.
Kevin Norwood, WR8/8/2014 10:52:00 AM
Description: Rookie wide receiver Kevin Noorwood is out indefinitely after having a bone spur removed from his foot.
Insight: It was going to be a struggle for Norwood to make the 53-man roster even if healthy. Fantasy owners can ignore him.
Christine Michael, RB8/8/2014 10:46:00 AM
Description: Seahawks running back Robert Turbin started the preseason opener, but we continue to believe second-year running back Christine Michael will be the handcuff for Marshawn Lynch.
Insight: Michael rushed seven times for 16 yards and caught three balls for 12 yards while Turbin rushed for just five yards on four carries.
Michael Bowie, OT8/2/2014 7:32:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks have apparently waived injured OT Michael Bowie.
Insight: Bowie's shoulder injury is expected to require season-ending surgery, but could another team could scoop him up and hold him for next season. He made nine starts for the Super Bowl champions last season.
Marshawn Lynch, RB7/31/2014 7:57:00 PM
Description: According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Seahawks agreed to raise Marshawn Lynch's base salary for 2014 from $5 million to $6 million and give him a $500,000 signing bonus.
Insight: Lynch had no leverage to get a new contract, but he ended up getting something out of his holdout. That should tell fantasy owners that the Seahawks still consider Lynch a big part of the equation and wanted to get him in camp as quickly as possible. Lynch isn't going to see 337 touches again like he did last year, but he'll still be heavily involved. Three hundred touches plus all the goal-line work will keep Lynch in the RB1 group.
Marshawn Lynch, RB7/31/2014 3:30:00 PM
Description: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch has decided to end his holdout, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Insight: Lynch had absolutely no leverage to get a new contract. He's already set to earn $5.5 million in salary and bonuses this season and the Seahawks have potential star Christine Michael behind him. Lynch isn't going to see 337 touches again like he did last year, but he'll still be heavily involved. Three hundred touches plus all the goal-line work will keep Lynch in the RB1 group.
Marshawn Lynch, RB7/24/2014 7:40:00 PM
Description: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch is now expected to hold out while he seeks a new contract.
Insight: Sounds like Lynch got a look at the Jamaal Charles deal and wants to get a bigger and better deal too. Lynch has been worked hard the past three seasons (901 carries) and is smart to want to get a deal done now before anything changes.
Sidney Rice, WR7/23/2014 4:08:00 PM
Description: Seattle receiver Sidney Rice has retired due to a history of concussions, according to ProFootballTalk.
Insight: The 27-year-old had one huge season -- 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns on 83 catches in 2009 with the Minnesota Vikings -- but hasn't been able to stay healthy. His other six seasons, he averaged 10.8 games, 26.67 catches, 380 yards and 3.67 touchdowns.
Marshawn Lynch, RB7/16/2014 4:25:00 PM
Description: Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times predicts Marshawn Lynch will still be the focal point of the Seahawks' offense in 2014 but that he'll lose a few carries per game to Christine Michael.
Insight: Lynch averaged 18.8 carries per game last season and Condotta predicts he'll be around 15-16 this year which will put him at 240-256 for the entire season. Lynch will still get all the goal-line work so he shouldn't drop out of the first round in fantasy drafts.
Marshawn Lynch, RB6/17/2014 6:24:00 PM
Description: Seattle halfback Marshawn Lynch arrived to mandatory minicamp Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Insight: Lynch didn't show up to voluntary OTAs because he wants to rework his contract and there was even a report from Rapoport last week that he was mulling retirement. According to ESPN, Lynch believes the Seahawks will negotiate with him in good faith because he showed up to minicamp. With Seattle OC Darrell Bevell mentioning that he wanted to use a committee at running back this season and a contract dispute looming, Lynch could be a riskier pick than expected in fantasy leagues.
Marshawn Lynch, RB6/12/2014 8:44:00 PM
Description: Seattle halfback Marshawn Lynch isn't happy about his contract situation and is considering sitting out next week's mandatory mini-camp.
Insight: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport even said retirement could be an option for Lynch. This would be a massive blow to the Seahawks and fantasy owners alike. Lynch logged 1,257 yards on 301 carries last season while leading Seattle to its first Super Bowl. He's only 28.
Marshawn Lynch, RB6/10/2014 8:14:00 PM
Description: Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said last week that the team would use a "running back by committee" in 2014, but he backtracked from that comment Monday, according to beat writer John Boyle.
Insight: Bevell said he meant that he would be using a committee in OTAs rather than during the season. Marshawn Lynch has handled an average of 329 touches the last three seasons but may drop to 285 this year as the team gets 2013 second-round pick Christine Michael more involved.
Christine Michael, RB6/10/2014 11:11:00 AM
Description: We believe Seahawks second-year running back Christine Michael should overtake Robert Turbin for the backup role to Marshawn Lynch.
Insight: Unless Marshawn Lynch gets hurt or has more legal issues, Michael shouldn't have much fantasy value this season, but keeper league owners should keep an eye on him as he looks like a more explosive option/handcuff than Robert Turbin.
Bruce Irvin, DE6/3/2014 9:28:00 AM
Description: Seahawks DE/LB Bruce Irvin had a hip procedure, but tweeted that he should be ready for training camp, according to beat writer Bob Condotta.
Insight: The Seattle linebacking corps, once a weakness, is deep and talented, so Irvin will have to be completely healthy if he wants to start this season. He missed four games due to a suspension in 2013 and wasn't much of a factor in the Seahawks Super Bowl run.
Doug Baldwin, WR5/29/2014 8:13:00 PM
Description: Doug Baldwin's new deal with the Seahawks will pay him $13 million over the next three seasons. SOURCE: Louis Riddick, ESPN
Insight: The hope is that Baldwin will be a good complement to starters Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin. With that said, the Seahawks are a run-first team, which means we wouldn't expect Baldwin to exceed the 73 targets he saw in 2013.
Doug Baldwin, WR5/23/2014 7:36:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks and Doug Baldwin are discussing terms on a new contract extension. SOURCE: John Boyle, Everett Herald
Insight: Baldwin caught all five passes that came his way in Seattle's Super Bowl victory over Denver. With Golden Tate out of the picture (he signed a five-year deal with the Lions), Baldwin could be in for a breakout season in 2014.
Marshawn Lynch, RB5/22/2014 8:47:00 PM
Description: Despite logging 300+ carries in each of his last two seasons, the Seahawks have no plans to reduce Marshawn Lynch's workload in 2014. SOURCE: Seahawks.com
Insight: Lynch has shown a remarkable level of resilience the last few seasons but eventually the huge workload is bound to catch up with him. Hopefully that doesn't happen in 2014 but fantasy owners need to be prepared.
Paul Richardson, WR5/9/2014 8:44:00 PM
Description: Seahawks speedster Paul Richardson, the 45th-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, caught five balls for a season-high 60 yards.
Insight: He only averaged 9.3 yards per reception this season, but saw limited snaps, so there is room for improvement.
Richard Sherman, CB5/7/2014 4:16:00 PM
Description: The Seahawks have signed cornerback Richard Sherman to a four-year, $57.4 million contract extension.
Insight: The deal makes him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. The 26-year-old former fifth-round pick deserves it. He's amassed 20 interceptions in three seasons while frequently locking down the opposing team's No. 1 receiver.
