Indiana's George named Most Improved Player
New York, NY (Sports Network) - Indiana Pacers swingman Paul George has been named the NBA's Most Improved Player for the 2012-13 season.
George received 52 first-place votes and tallied 311 points to outdistance New Orleans' Greivis Vasquez (146) and Milwaukee's Larry Sanders (141) in the balloting.
The third-year pro led the Pacers with a career-high 17.4 points in 79 games, helping the club capture the Central Division title. He also posted personal bests in rebounds (7.6), assists (4.1) and steals (1.8).
George is the fourth Pacer to receive the award, joining Jalen Rose (2000), Jermaine O'Neal (2002) and Danny Granger (2009).
Current Pelican Ryan Anderson was last year's winner as a member of the Orlando Magic.
