(SportsNetwork, com) - Emotions should be running high inside Fenway Park on Monday, as the Boston Red Sox close out a four-game series with the Baltimore Orioles on Patriots' Day.

Patriots' Day celebrates the anniversary of Paul Revere's ride and the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775. It also coincides with the 118th running Boston Marathon, which this year, of course, holds a special place in the hearts of everyone following the bombings that marred the event a year ago.

"There's certainly a recognition of what this weekend represents in Boston, and what we experienced a year ago," Boston's manager John Farrrell said. "The overriding thing is that we feel a greater sense of pride, having been part of a community that rallied around a tragic event and, on some small level, we were part of the healing process. Hopefully (Monday's) anniversary -- not by date but by event, the anniversary -- is another day of healing for those who have been a victim."

The Red Sox paid tribute to those affected by bombings prior to Sunday's contest went out and rallied for a dramatic win. Dustin Pedroia scored the game-winning run on a throwing error in the ninth inning to complete Boston's comeback and give the Red Sox a 6-5 win.

The Red Sox scored six unanswered runs to win for the fourth time in five games, the deciding run coming on David Lough's errant throw from left field.

Pedroia was on third with the bases loaded and one out, and Mike Carp, pinch- hitting for Jonny Gomes, sent a sharp line drive to left field. Lough caught the ball on the run, but his throw home was not cut off by third baseman Jonathan Schoop and caromed wildly off the backstop. Pedroia hesitated trying to score at first but wound up scoring without a throw.

"All their outfielders have great arms, so you have to get a great jump for situations like that. We just lucked out," Pedroia said.

Jonny Gomes hit a three-run homer off Ubaldo Jimenez in the sixth inning to get the rally started, then David Ortiz and Mike Napoli each knocked in a run in the seventh.

Adam Jones went 4-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI to highlight Baltimore's offense, but it wasn't enough as the Orioles dropped their second straight game on the heels of a three-game winning streak.

Now less than 12 hours later the Red Sox will go for a series win with Clay Buchholz on the hill. Buchholz is still looking for his first win of the season and is 0-1 with a 5.51 ERA. He pitched well in Chicago on Wednesday, surrendering three runs and six hits in six innings, but did not factor in the decision of his team's 6-4 win.

He is 9-3 lifetime versus the O's with a 3.40 ERA.

Baltimore, meanwhile, will counter with lefty Wei-Yin Chen, who is 2-1 with a 4.76 ERA. Chen won his second straight start last Monday against Tampa, as he allowed just a run and five hits in 6 1/3 frames.

Chen has faced the Red Sox eight times and is 2-3 with a 5.24 ERA against them.

The Red Sox have won four of six from the O's this season.

Boston has also won eight of its last 10 Patriots' Day contests and 10 of its last 13 dating back to 2001. It is also 4-1 against the Orioles on Patriots' Day.

"Whether you are from Boston or Massachusetts or Texas or whatever, this is something that happened to our country. I think everybody (is respectful)," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of remembering that day's tragic events. "But we do have a job to do, something we want to deliver on. Everybody will take in the moment. I know I will. But sooner or later, they are going to play that song and we are going to compete."

The Red Sox have been scheduled to play at home on Patriots' Day every year since 1959.
