Stamps QB Tate has arm injury
Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Calgary Stampeders quarterback Drew Tate has been diagnosed with a muscle strain in his throwing arm.
"He did participate (in practice) today but we have to let it settle down," said Calgary head coach and general manager John Hufnagel. "It's a day-to-day situation and we'll see how long it'll take to get him back on the field throwing."
Tate underwent an MRI some time over the weekend which revealed the injury. He has completed 38-of-52 passes for 468 yards and five touchdowns in the first two games this season.
Calgary squares off against the Alouettes in Montreal on Friday.
"I wasn't able to throw but I was able to do everything else," Tate revealed. Everything's the same, I'm just not throwing. So still game planning and still watching film and everything."
Kevin Glenn, who subbed for Tate when a separated shoulder struck him last year, will be called upon if Tate is unable to play.
