3/10/2013 10:02:00 AM
Description: Minnesota Wild winger Zach Parise scored his ninth goal of the season Saturday against the Predators.
Insight: Parise's return home to Minnesota has gone south lately. He started out with five goals and nine points in his first five games but has produced just four goals and seven points over his last 18.

2/8/2013 3:37:00 PM
Description: Minnesota Wild winger Zach Parise was too sick to practice Friday, which leaves his situation for Saturday's game against Nashville up in the air.
Insight: We should know more after the Saturday morning skate, but fantasy owners will have to check back before they drop the puck to verify that he's going to dress.

7/4/2012 2:11:00 PM
Description: New Jersey winger Zach Parise will make Minnesota his home for the next 13 years after agreeing to a long-term deal with the Wild.
Insight: Parise scored 31 goals and had 38 assists for 69 points last season which was third-best on the Devils team behind Ilya Kovalchuk and Patrik Elias. His 69-point total was higher than anyone on the low-scoring Wild (30th with 177 goals), who were led by Dany Heatley's 53 points.

12/17/2011 12:36:00 AM
Description: Zach Parise scored a goal and added three assists with a +3 in the Devils' 6-3 win over Dallas on Friday. NHL.com
Insight: Parise was the game's top player on the night the Devils were retiring Scott Niedermayer's number 27. Parise is tied with Patrik Elias with a team-leading 27 points (11g-16a). Parise has been devil hot recently, scoring 16 points over his past 10 games.

10/5/2011 1:01:00 PM
Description: The New Jersey Devils have named Zach Parise team captain. ESPN
Insight: Ilya Kovalchuk and Patrik Elias have been named alternate captains. Although Parise may be the logical choice to assume the captain's role, perhaps the Devils are providing an incentive for him to re-sign with the team after this season.

8/1/2011 8:46:00 PM
Description: The New Jersey Devils have signed Zach Parise to a one-year contract worth $6 million. TSN
Insight: The one-year contract buys the Devils one more year to sign Parise to a long-term contract. The Ilya Kovalchuk contract has complicated the cap situation in Jersey, so it remains to be seen whether Parise will sign with the Devils long-term. He will no doubt fall in fantasy rankings because he was injured for all but 13 games last season, so don't forget about him in fantasy drafts.

6/18/2011 12:44:00 AM
Description: The New Jersey Devils have filed for team-elected arbitration with RFA Zach Parise. TSN
Insight: Parise will be awarded a one-year contract via arbitration. After that, the Devils will spend that time attempting to sign Parise to a long-term deal. The Devils made this move to protect their rights to Parise and prevent other teams from signing him to an offer sheet.

4/7/2011 1:24:00 AM
Description: The New Jersey Devils have decided to hold out Zach Parise from playing the team's final two games of the season. Fire & Ice
Insight: The Devils say that Parise is not being shut down for injury reasons, but only to protect him from injury now that the Devils are officially out of the playoffs. The Devils will now attempt to sign Parise to a long-term contract over the summer.

4/2/2011 12:41:00 PM
Description: Zach Parise is expected to return to the Devils' lineup on Saturday against Montreal.? Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Parise hasn't played since the end of October because of a torn meniscus in his knee. He has had plenty of practice time prior to this game, so it will be interesting to see if he can provide some late-season bonus points for fantasy teams.

3/31/2011 12:04:00 AM
Description: Parise said he expects to return to the ice Saturday. He has been out since the end of October.
Insight: "Today was my fourth practice with the team but I just didn't feel comfortable hopping into a game at this time," Parise told reporters Wednesday. The exact return date appears to be a matter of personal caution. Fantasy owners obviously need to exercise similar caution with a player returning from such a long layoff. (RapidDraft.com)

3/30/2011 11:45:00 AM
Description: Zach Parise isn't expected to return to the Devils' lineup on Wednesday against the Islanders. Fire & Ice
Insight: Parise said he would likely return on Saturday, although he admitted he wasn't quite ready to return. In case you're wondering, Parise won't suit up for Team USA at the World Hockey Championships this season.

3/29/2011 1:20:00 PM
Description: Zach Parise is unsure whether he will play on Wednesday against the Islanders. Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Parise's knee appears to be fine, so this appears to be a issue of getting a feel for the pace of the game again following his long layoff. Consider Parise questionable for Wednesday.

3/25/2011 1:44:00 PM
Description: Devils coach Jacques Lemaire said that Zach Parise won't return to the lineup on Friday or Saturday, making Wednesday the most likely option. Newark Star-Ledger
Insight: Since Lemaire said that Parise would return soon, we'd be led to believe that Wednesday would be the most likely day for his return. At least fantasy owners have a better idea now of when Parise should return. He'll no doubt be rusty, but he is worth activating for next week.

3/24/2011 10:01:00 PM
Description: Parise practiced with his team Thursday for the first time since right knee surgery back on Nov. 2.
Insight: Obviously it's next to impossible to say how Parise will fare once he returns to game action. The last time he played was the day before Halloween. We'll see how he progresses, and maybe the Devils forward will be usable for the final few games. (RapidDraft.com)

3/24/2011 1:07:00 PM
Description: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello expects Zach Parise to return to the Devils' lineup before the end of the regular season. ESPN New York
Insight: Parise has been sidelined since the end of October following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. By the time he is ready to return, the Devils may be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Parise will be worth a pickup in fantasy leagues when he returns, but he won't be able to provide many games played.

3/2/2011 6:56:00 PM
Description: Zach Parise has been cleared to begin light skating, but he will need another 2-3 weeks before he can return to practice. ESPN New York
Insight: Parise has been sidelined since the first month of the season with a torn meniscus in his knee. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello thinks that Parise should be able to play in a regular-season game or two before the regular season ends, but that assumes he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Single-season fantasy owners shouldn't be getting too excited, given the limited amount of time Parise could be back.

1/3/2011 1:23:00 AM
Description: Zach Parise denied a Boston Globe report that he has no plans to remain with the Devils, but he was unsure about whether he would sign a long-term contract with the Devils. Bergen Record
Insight: Parise's knee injury might be a reason that the Devils have not signed the sniper beyond the 2011-12 season. However, the Ilya Kovalchuk contract and the Devils' poor season are also likely factors in the fact that no contract talks have taken place. If the Devils continue their poor play, it will be interesting to see whether they attempt to build around Parise, or if they let him go via free agency and attempt a rebuild.

12/24/2010 12:16:00 PM
Description: According to the Bergen Record, Zach Parise won't begin skating until March, which is the next meeting with the doctor who performed his knee surgery. TSN
Insight: Parise was only thought to be sidelined until February, so his fantasy owners were hoping to get something out of him this season. With the Devils already 20 points out of a playoff spot, the team has absolutely no reason to rush Parise back. His fantasy owners may not get to see him at all this season and may be wise to look in another direction if he is holding down an IR spot.

11/2/2010 7:49:00 PM
Description: Zach Parise will be sidelined for three months after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. TSN
Insight: This is a huge loss for both fantasy owners and the Devils, whose struggles this season have been well-chronicled. Parise isn't projected to be back until February, so fantasy owners should move him to the bench or IR immediately.

11/1/2010 6:29:00 PM
Description: Zach Parise will undergo exploratory arthroscopic surgery on his knee to find out the nature of his injury. Fire & Ice
Insight: There is no ligament or cartilage damage to his knee, so the injury could be worse. Still, the Devils could not provide a timetable for Parise's return. Move him to your bench or IR as early as possible.
